How to display this variable like Material No :-MATERIAL123
How to code for this in BSP.

To display any variable in BSP.
you need to do this:
<%= varibale name %>
For your variable,
<%= wk_matnr %>
OR
<htmlb:label for = "wkm"
text = "Material No" />
<htmlb:text id = "wkm"
text = "<%= wk_matnr %>" />

How to display a variable in the report?

hi all
i want to use one complex sql statement which will return only one value and i need to display it in report. i'm new to OBIEE. i thought of creating a repository variable to hold that value. but im not sure of how to display the variable in the report.
Any idea?

How to display presentation variable in a column

Hi all....I have to display presentation variable in a column...
I tried placing @{variable_name} in column formula..
But it is displaying a value 0 ..where the variable carries a date value.
Any suggestions?

Not sure if I understood the question, do you mean you want to display variables as output, where in the logic runs in a loop while reading the XML data and creates an array of data separated by backslash? You can always concatenate the variables similar to string concatenation.

How to display a variable value in WAD?

I am using a replacement path variable to filter a report by project number. While this works fine, the project number is not easily visible (only via Filter -> Display All Filter Values and this only displays the description, not the key).
How can I display the key and the description of the project number variable at the top of the report?

The first part is right -
1) drag a text element onto the page, at a location in which you want the variable value to be displayed
2) On the left hand bottom page - go to the web item properties for the text element
3) scroll down to the specific properties for the item - in that uncheck the first two check boxes - display general text elements & display static filter values
4) in the next item in the properties (List of text elements) click once on the box where List is written and then clcik on the small browse button that appears.
5) in the window that opens, in the element type field, select variable/variable value as key (as per your requirement) and then under the element ID field type in the technical name of your variable that you want to display.
click ok and save your template and try executing it.

There i have also used a variable which will take input from user and restricted on 0CALDAY.
I have also created 2 text variable to display the text for sales based on input in variable.
I need when user enter the 01.02.2010 - 31.12.2010 value in variable , text variable should display SALES FROM 01.02.2010 TO 31.12.2010
i knew how to do that by using text variable of processing type customer exit.
But display of text variable is like SALES FROM 01022010 TO 31122010 ,
But i need that SALES 01.02.2010 TO 31.12.2010
i shall be thankfull to you for this.

How to display the variable screen with report in the same page together

our customers want to design a web application use BEx
they want the variable screen can be displayed with the report result in the same web page together
so they can modify the variable filters any time and refresh the report with new variable filter
i have tried the navigation area,but it seems only use new filter to the data athough get,we can't change the filter we input in the variable screen.
is there any way to display these together?
even I can use BSP.

I think to display var screen with the report is not possible.(At least it will not be static). You need to refresh the report and choose the varibale at that time.
Other option could be to bring all the possible value in the report and provide your user with the filter value. But this will make your report slow as you may have to bring more data in the filter.

How to Display Query Variables in Text Titles?

Hi experts,
I have created a web template that has a query parameter screen and then displays the results in the form of charts and tables.
My question is how do I display the parameters entered by the user in a chart title?
For example if the user enters a date range of ISO Week 19 to 23, I want to display the chart title as: "Report Results - Week 19 to 23".
I also want to do the same for a general title. I've tried using information fields, but they don't allow me to add additional text.
Maybe I need to use some java script to get the parameter value?
Keep in mind I am just starting out with this and I am using BW7.0 with the WAD.

I think you are referring to 3.5? Maybe 7.0 handles it differently?
I've tried entering free text and then putting in a text web item that is hooked up to a data provider with a characteristic but that only prints out the characteristic header and not the actual value selected by the user.
For example, I have the following:
Report for week <text web item>
Returns:
Report for week ISO Week
I would like it to return:
Report for week 19
Thoughts?

I want to display the value of the value of variable against fiscper3 and the value of the variable against 0fiscyear in the web application template from the query in the text element in the web template in BI 7 Web application designer.
Also, in the web application designer I need to format the text element in the web application designer to set the text element to center the display change the size and make it bold. I am bit lost I cannot find these properties in the web application designer against the text element.

How to display Hierarchy Variable in BI 7.0 WAD

Hi Experts
I have a variable for Cost Center which is a Hierarchy Variable and not a Hierarchy Node Variable. I am using BI WAD 7.0 and my requirement is that the user wants to see for what Hierarchy s/he ran for.
I am using a Information Web Item whihc is under Advanced tab. After dragging that I check the box for Variables so that the user see all the variables he ran for and after s/he prints its more precise report.
My problem is I cant see the Hierarchy variable value in my Web Template ....I can see at the variable POP UP screen I enter my Hierarchy but after executing it I dont see my Hierarchy variable value.

To substantiate my earlier question ...I have 3 Hierarchies for 0COSTCENTER
In the WAD under the Information Web ITem i check the box for
Display Variables (VARIABLES_VISIBLE)
I have 3 variables
1) Hierarchy Variable : user will pick 1 out of 3 Hierarchy
(not a node but entire Hierarchy)
2) Fiscal Year/period
3) Value type
But I can see only 2 variables after the Web template is executed , the user wants to see for what hierarchy it ran when it prints the report
