How to display HTML chars in report

I have a field in database with following data.
This is data
I have added a textbox in report in which I am displaying this column and it is displayed as it is. But I want to show it as HTML. So for that I created a function that decodes special chars and convert them into HTML.
But after applying HTML decoding, now it is showing as:
This is data
As you can see now it is directly showing "" tag instead of actually applying it. How do I fix this issue?

That's strange, it should indeed not display the tags. Do any other supported tags work? Try replacing p with b and check if the text is rendered in bold...

If that didn't help, have a look at the Properties pane with the placeholder selected. The Properties
dropdown will display "Selected Text", this way you can tell if you've got the placeholder selected (and not the whole textbox). Now locate the MarkupType property. It should be set to HTML.

In Reports 9i we have deprecated our OLE functionality. Reports created in prior versions that contain OLE objects should still run, but you will not be able to create new reports containing OLE objects.

We used like Employee Department in column heading, but the problem is the tag also exporting into csv file.
If any column data 3/2009 formatt the it will exporting as marh 2009.

Hi Nr
Here is how I approached this problem.
Go to report attributes tab
under column attributes check PLSQL radio button.
Create a function to return the heading of your report as shown below in your database.
create function get_heading return clob as
v_request VARCHAR2(20) := V('REQUEST');
v_col_heading CLOB;
begin
IF INSTR(v_request,'FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT',1) > 0 THEN
v_col_heading := 'Employee Number:Employee Name';
ELSE
v_col_heading := 'Employee breaktag Number:Employee break tag Name';
END IF;
return v_col_heading;
end;
Type the function below under ( Function returning colon delimited headings:) as follows.
return get_heading;
Similarly for data base it on PLSQL function body returning SQL and follow the same approach as headings.

How to display HTML response file in user's browser following submission of Livecycle form

I have a PDF form created via Livecycle that does a HTTP submit to the webserver. The server returns a HTML 'submission receipt' page which is either opened in Acrobat or the user's web browser.
Previously this process worked fine when submitting from adobe reader - the html receipt file would always automatically open OK in the user's browser. However, with newer versions of Reader (11.0.0+) I now get this error and no attempt to open the user's web browser:
An error occurred during the submit process. Cannot process content of type text/html
I realise why I get the error - Adobe reader can't display HTML files.
What I don't understand is why it doesn't open the html file in the user's browser like it has been doing for years.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this (without changing the response content type to PDF/FDF)?

I had the same issue as you and we used FDF status, then eventually went with returning an XDP that filled out a receipt section of the form.

How to display HTML file from Unix server on UI at runtime

Hi Experts,
My requirement is to display HTML files, related to some particular person, on UI. The file is existing on a separate UNIX server and a file related to one person may have a lot of attached files as well , as is the case generally with HTML files, including pictures etc. So it is no use transferring file on my CRM system, as the files are kept separately on this UNIX server which is particularly for this kind of storage.
I am able to show files residing on MIME repository ( I created some new HTML files ) of my CRM system on UI. but I don't know how to go ahead with this particular requirement.
One idea is that I can map one folder of my application server to that unix server so that I can see the HTML files in this particular folder. but I don't know how to map MIME repository folder to application server directory or directly to the UNIX server .
Please advise. Is my approach correct or is there any other way ?

Maybe this is too simple, but have you got an HTTP server on the UNIX machine? You could simply link the URL into you CRM application and display the contents directly from UNIX.

Please advice me for the following requirement.
I have a report which is having sales results, which is having year column also. Report has to be displayed based on the current year. Now it is 2013. I should show current year results only i.e 2013.
In 2014, i should show only 2014 results. How to achieve this at a report level.

You are having Data for 2014 also. If not means, you can use sql query select max(year) from period.
So it will show the final maximum end of the year(2013) from database.
You can use dashboard prompts too. in the prompt also you can have specific year or sql query

The only current way is to use an iFrame, or if you only need some html tags you could use the Text Layout Framework.

Hi,
Go to report attribute page and select that column and "Standard Report Column" in "Display As".
You can show the html tag in report.

just specify the path, i.e. c:\my files\myDocument.html
or
file:///myfiles/myDocument.html
Of course, I use IE, so Netscape might not like it. but this works for IE.
