I have a question regarding how to display value from List in a jsf page?
From a Map, i could display like
<ice:inputText id="plantno" value="#{bean.detailedRowData['plantno']}"So if I am using a List instead of Map, how can I refer value in List so that I could display my plantno?

Create a backing bean method that fetches the value from the list for you.

If I understand your report structure correctly - you have one Grouping on Actions. So could you not add another grouping on SalesPersonName above the Actions grouping that you currently have?So the new structure would be:G1 - SalesPersonNameG2 - Actions (current grouping you have) Whether or not you suppress or don't suppress the new grouping is your choice, but it will then force the ordering that you are asking about (assuming I understood)

Accessing display values of a select list (or LOV)

Hi all,
I was asking myself if it is possible to access the display values of a select list (to be added to a report header and to the Head section of a pdf export),
and to call them in form of the &xxxxx. notation
e.g. if &P10_REGION. return the selected value (e.g. 1), I would like to have the corresponding display value (e.g. USA) .

ADF how to display a processing page when executing large queries
The ADF application that I have written currently has the following structure:
DataPage (search.jsp) that contains a form that the user enters their search criteria --> forward action (doSearch) --> DataAction (validate) that validates the inputted values --> forward action (success) --> DataAction (performSearch) that has a refresh method dragged on it, and an action that manually sets the itterator for the collection to -1 --> forward action (success) --> DataPage (results.jsp) that displays the results of the then (hopefully) populated collection.
I am not using a database, I am using a java collection to hold the data and the refresh method executes a query against an Autonomy Server that retrieves results in XML format.
The problem that I am experiencing is that sometimes a user may submit a query that is very large and this creates problems because the browser times out whilst waiting for results to be displayed, and as a result a JBO-29000 null pointer error is displayed.
I have previously got round this using Java Servlets where by when a processing servlet is called, it automatically redirects the browser to a processing page with an animation on it so that the user knows something is being processed. The processing page then recalls the servlet every 3seconds to see if the processing has been completed and if it has the forward to the appropriate results page.
Unfortunately I can not stop users entering large queries as the system requires users to be able to search in excess of 5 million documents on a regular basis.
I'd appreciate any help/suggestions that you may have regarding this matter as soon as possible so I can make the necessary amendments to the application prior to its pilot in a few weeks time.

In database, one field contains values followed by new character lines (blank lines) after blank lines there is no values. Finally, I would say the field contains values and blank lines. Every thing is fine in database.
In Crystal Reports the field is displaying only values. Need to display values and blank line.
User is asking after values new character lines (blank line) to be shown. They enter like that in an application. The user doubt is why report is not showing what they enter in the application.
In detail explanation, front end tool is ASP.NET and backend is SQL Server.
User enter some values in note field, after that they hit enter button in the same field, cursor will go next line...user may hit u2018enter buttonu2019 more than 5 times. So note field contain values and some blank lines which are created by after hitting enter button.
If user opens the application, they could see values plus blank lines in the note field.
They are fine with the application.
In Crystal Reports, the note field shows only values.
User is questioning that why we could not see in report we enter.
I checked in .Net application and SQL server database it is fine. It is displaying values and blank line.
Please help me out how to display values followed by blank lines in Crystal Reports - the way they enter in the application.

I would like to explain again.
it is not exactly null values.
In .Net application it is called 'new char line'.
it shows those many lines look like null.
it is working fine in database.
Why it is not working in Crystal Reports? I am wondering...

User may enter any number of blank lines or they may not enter blank lines.
That is the reason I can not always give more height or blank text object.

I am currently working on R12 implementation, I have requirement where business has to calculate the USE tax and withhold it from being paid to the supplier in case if use tax is not mentioned on the Invoice and pay it to tax authorities directly by business. Our client has Vertax third party tax engine. now the question is does it works same as it is in oracle payables in cases if client want to use vertax to calculate tax. How oracle behaves for withholding tax when vertax is used for tax calculations.

I do generate XML-Files by using DBMS_XMLGEN with output by UTL_FILE
but it seems, the xml-Datafile I get on end is not really UTF-8 encoding
( f.ex. cannot verifying it correct in xmlspy )

in my understandig, the xmltyp created should be UTF8 (16),
but when open the xml-file in xmlSpy as UTF-8,
