How to draw an array of imageIcons in java

Hi,
I am working on a UI in which i need images taken from a local path to be listed out in the panels .
I have two panels one left and one right .
half set of images shuld get listed in left panel and the other half shuld get listed in the right panel.
Right now i am using to functions called List and List1 and adding List to left panel and List1 to the Right panel both the functions are in one class called DrawClass.
My problem is how can i write this as a single funtion to reduce my lines of code.
thanks
swathi.

it was help ful but have still some doubt...
This is my piece of code where i am getting some images, creating image icons for them , adding these to a jlist and then to a scroll pane.
void DrawListOfImages()
           filepath=new ListClass();
           imagefiles = new ImageIcon[filepath.filename.length];
           images = new Image[filepath.filename.length];
           Integer[] intArray = new Integer[filepath.filename.length];
           for(int i=0;i<filepath.filename.length;i++)
                intArray[i] = new Integer(i);
                imagefiles[i] = new ImageIcon( filepath.filename[i] );
                images[i] = imagefiles.getImage();
               images[i] = images[i].getScaledInstance(100, 100, Image.SCALE_SMOOTH);
               imagefiles[i].setImage(images[i]);
          imagefilesList = new JList(imagefiles);     //first list
          imagefilesList1=new JList(imagefiles);          //second list
          rightpane = new JScrollPane(imagefilesList);     for now i am adding same files on both sides
          leftpane=new JScrollPane(imagefilesList1);
          rpane.setSize(100, 100);
     }i want to sort out these files with there extension for example " .amr "  files on left pane " .jpg " files on right pane
how can i do that .....?????????????????
thanks

  • How to draw symbol for avalanche diode in multisim ?

    Hello all,
                 I have to include a symbol for diode array in multisim... SP0503BAHT, can anyone please suggest how to draw it? I am very new to multisim...
    thanks,
    Now on LabVIEW 10.0 on Win7
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
    The easiest approach to do this is to copy the symbol of a diode from the Master Database and then edit the symbol to fulfill your needs.
    In the Component Wizard, when you are prompted to Enter symbol information, click on Copy from DB and choose a diode symbol that you like. Click on Edit and then you can edit the symbol.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to draw a simple little line.

    I have a JApplet that loads images from a jar file. This applet can scale the images, and move them left right, up and down.
    I just want to be able to draw a line on top of the images and then erase it if needed. How do I do this?
    Currently, I have a the jpg images loaded into an Image, which is then converted to an ImageIcon, which is then used to create a JLabel, which is used to create a JScrollPane which finally gets added as a tab on a JTabbedPane.
    I was told to use BufferedImage but that didn't help me. Here is what I have currently:
    private void draw()
    //Get the current image to draw on
    JScrollPane jsp = (JScrollPane)m_tabbedPane.getSelectedComponent();
    JViewport port = jsp.getViewport();
    GrabAndScrollLabel gnsLabel = (GrabAndScrollLabel) port.getView();
    ImageIcon ii = (ImageIcon) gnsLabel.getIcon();
    BufferedImage bi = new BufferedImage (ii.getIconWidth(),
    ii.getIconHeight(),
    BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D g2 = bi.createGraphics();
    g2.setPaint(Color.blue);
    g2.drawLineRect(100, 200, 300, 500);
    g2.drawImage(ii.getImage(),null,null);
    ImageIcon newIcon = new ImageIcon(ii.getImage());
    gnsLabel.setIcon(newIcon);
    port.setView(gnsLabel);
    jsp.setViewport(port);
    getRootPane().revalidate();
    getRootPane().repaint();
    Please help. I can't believe it has to be this difficult to draw a little line.
    Thanks.

    I have a little more insight into my problem.
    I built a sample form Sun (the Map_Line sample). It looks like this:
    public class Map_Line extends Applet
    private BufferedImage bi;
    public Map_Line()
    setBackground(Color.white);
    Image img = getToolkit().getImage("bld.jpg");
    try
    MediaTracker tracker = new MediaTracker(this);
    tracker.addImage(img, 0);
    tracker.waitForID(0);
    catch (Exception e)
    int iw = img.getWidth(this);
    int ih = img.getHeight(this);
    bi = new BufferedImage(iw, ih, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D big = bi.createGraphics();
    big.drawImage(img, 0, 0, this);
    public void paint(Graphics g)
    Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
    int w = getSize().width;
    int h = getSize().height;
    int bw = bi.getWidth(this);
    int bh = bi.getHeight(this);
    g2.drawImage(bi, null, 0, 0);
    g2.setColor(Color.white);
    g2.setStroke(new BasicStroke(5.0f));
    g2.drawLine(10, 10, bw - 10, bh - 10);
    public static void main(String[] s)
    WindowListener l = new WindowAdapter()
    public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e)
    System.exit(0);
    Frame f = new Frame("Map_Line");
    f.addWindowListener(l);
    f.add("Center", new Map_Line());
    f.pack();
    f.setSize(new Dimension(350, 250));
    f.show();
    Note how the drawing is done in paint. This applet works just fine for me.
    The difference is that I'm trying to use the BufferedImage to get my Graphics2D object where as this one gets it from paint (casts Graphics to Graphics2D).
    This applet works just fine, but if you try to use the Graphics2D that comes back from the BufferedImage, it doesn't work!.
    For example, if I create a member variable:
    Graphics2D big;
    And then in paint do this:
    //Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
    Grahics2D g2 = big;
    It no longer works!
    So, it looks like I need to use something other than the
    BufferedImage.createGraphics() to get the Graphics2D object I need.
    Does this seem right?
    Thanks!

    1. desinged footer area in the table node of the main window.
    2. tried with uline and system symbols.
    please correct me if i am wrong. please explain in detail how to draw horizontal line after end of the main window table.
    this is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Valter Oliveira,
    Thanks for your answer. But I need some more detail about blank line text. i.e thrid point.
    Could you please tell me how to insert blank line text.
    1 - in your table, create a line type with only one column, with the same width of the table
    2 - in table painter, create a line under the line type
    3 - insert a blank line text in the footer section with the line type you have created.

  • How to draw vertical lines in SMART FORMS

    Hi Guys,
    Can anyone please let me know how to draw vertical and horizontal lines in smart forms, i have to do this in the secondary window.
    thanks,
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
    In the window output options you have option of check box to get lines.
    Then you need to give the spacing for vertical and horizontal.
    Another option is putting a template on window and getting the boxes, but it is quite little bit complex.
    Put the cursor on the WINDOW in which the lines you want.
    Right click on it>create>complex section.
    In that select the TEMPLATE radio button.
    Goto TAB TEMPLATE.
    Name: give some name of line.
    From: From coloumn.
    To: To coloumn
    Height: specify the height of the line.
    Next give the coloumn widths.
    Like this you can draw the vertical and horzontal lines.
    If the above option doesnot workout then u can try the below option also
    any how you can draw vertical and horizontal lines using Template and Table.
    for Template First define the Line and divide that into coloumns and goto select patterns and select the required pattern to get the vertical and horizontal lines.
    For table, you have to divide the total width of the table into required no.of columns and assign the select pattern to get the vertical and horizontal lines.
    if this helps, reward with points.

    Naveen

    Hi,
    You cannot directly map an array output to any single field in BizTalk mapper.
    Couple of options :
    1) create
    the Xslt or inline C# code
    Refer:
    http://seroter.wordpress.com/2008/10/07/splitting-delimited-values-in-biztalk-maps/
    2) Shankycheil has
    provided a solution to similar requirement in the below link, u can also refer that.

    Speaking about the first solution, as I told before, in the example I should have an array already formed and delimited by a char (something like "obj1attr1-obj1attr2-ob2attr1-obj2attr2". In this situation probably this example could be a good
    point to start from, but how to transform my complex input object in a similar formatted string?
    About the second I don't understand well what is the working solution that they have adopted. Is the 4 steps solution suggested by  Shankycheil? If yes, how can I loop between all array elements and extract all their values?

  • How to Draw 3-D scatter plot in J2ME?

    HI all
    I am new in J2ME And I need to draw a three dimensional scatter plot in J2ME application. Can any body help me how to do so? It's urgent and I am eagerly waiting for your response. Even if you can tell me how to draw a 3-D point like (x,y,z)=(3,5,8) in J2ME?

  • How to build a array with high sampling rates 1K

    Hi All:
    Now I am trying to develop a project with CRio.
    But I am not sure how to build a array with high sampling rates signal, like >1K. (Sigle-point data)
    Before, I would like to use "Build Arrary" and "Shift Register" to build a arrary, but I found it is not working for high sampling rates.
    Is there anyother good way to build a data arrary for high sampling rates??
    Thanks

    Can't give a sample of the FPGA right now but here is a sample bit of RT code I recently used. I am acquiring data at 51,200 samples every second. I put the data in a FIFO on the FPGA side, then I read from that FIFO on the RT side and insert the data into a pre-initialized array using "Replace Array subset" NOT "Insert into array". I keep a count of the data I have read/inserted, and once I am at 51,200 samples, I know I have 1 full second of data. At this point, I add it to a queue which sends it to another loop to be processed. Also, I don't use the new index terminal in my subVI because I know I am always adding 6400 elements so I can just multiply my counter by 6400, but if you use the method described further down below , you will want to use the "new index" to return a value because you may not always read the same number of elements using that method.
    The reason I use a timeout of 0 and a wait until next ms multiple is because if you use a timeout wired to the FIFO read node, it spins a loop in the background that polls for data, which rails your processor. Depending on what type of acquisition you are doing, you can also use the method of reading 0 elements, then using the "elements remaining" variable, to wire up another node as is shown below. This was not an option for me because of my programs architecture and needing chunks of 1 second data. Had I used this method it would have overcomplicated things if I read more elements then I had available in my 51,200 buffer.
    Let me knwo if you have more qeustions

  • How to draw 2D shapes on the image generated by JMF MediaPlayer?

    Hello all:
    IS there any way that we can draw 2D shapes on the image generated by JMF
    MediaPlayer?
    I am currently working on a project which should draw 2D shapes(rectangle, circle etc) to
    mark the interesting part of image generated by JMF MediaPlayer.
    The software is supposed to work as follows:
    1> first use will open a mpg file and use JMF MediaPlayer to play this video
    2> if the user finds some interesting image on the video, he will pause the video
    and draw a circle to mark the interesting part on that image.
    I know how to draw a 2D shapes on JPanel, however, I have no idea how I can
    draw them on the Mediaplayer Screen.
    What technique I should learn to implement this software?
    any comments are welcome.
    thank you

    If anyone can help?!

  • How to set an array element in an object type of array??

    Hi,
    I have set attribute as follow:
    Color[] colors;
    Color[] colors = new Color[20];
    colors[0] = "Red";
    colors[1] = "blue";I can't compile this code. It said:
    "Incompatible type -found java.lang.String but expected Colors
    Could you tell me how to set an array elements when the array type is an object?

    in your case, the array shouldn't be Color[] but String[] since you re intending to put strings into it
    by the way, you could also use a hashmap to map a string to a color:
    HashMap<String, Color> hm = new HashMap<String, Color>();
    hm.put("Red", Color.RED);
    hm.put("Blue", Color.BLUE);
    etc.
