How-to: Drop down.

Question

I believe MIDP does not provide a drop down interface. One way to implement this is by having a command/link from the first screen to the second screen. This second screen will then list all the choices and user selects one of them. Once selected, user will go back to the first screen with the selected value. But how to do this? Can someone provide me some sample code?
Here's the sample screen I'm working on:
Screen 1:
Area: [...]
- Is this a TextField or just a StringItem?
- user must choose a command to edit this item.
- user goes to screen 2 and make selection.
Screen 2:
Area available (ChoiceGroup, exclusive):
Area 1, Area 2, Area 3 ....
User clicks ok and go back to Screen 1.
Screen 1:
Area: [ Area 2].
Is this how most ppl implement the drop down list? I prefer to have
a separate window/form just to display the area available because this
list might grow bigger in the future.
Any code sample please?

If i am not mistaken, I assume that you need a drop down list rite? Ok might want to look into the Choice class where one of the methods correspond to a ....(Choice.POPUP)<=== this method will list all the string data in that particular choice.... so thus this is the closet dropdown

choice3 = new ChoiceGroup("Time before alert:", Choice.POPUP, time, null);
