How To Edit A Shape Path

A PS newbie here. I am trying to follow THIS TUTORIAL and am getting hung up at this point where the author adds anchor points to a rounded rectangle:
There is not a lot of explanation about how to do this in the tutorial. I know how to add anchor points when using the Pen Tool, but getting the shape to exhibit the path is eluding me.
Can anyone help?

So I guess this is where I'm losing it because I've worked w. the Pen Tool a little in the past and using the Direct Selection Tool is exactly what I'd think would be called for. But it's not doing anything for me. I create a brand new layer w. a brand new rounded rectangle, hit Ctrl+A and make sure its the white arrow (not black), then click on the newly created solid black rounded rectangle. There isn't actually a "path" or an outline. And none ever appears no matter where I click.

How to edit a path and its text wrap of zero simultaneously?

When I try to select a point on a polygon - with a Text Wrap of zero - I merely select a point on the Text Wrap instead. The Text Wrap path appears to be above the polygon path to which it is attached. How do I select an actual polygon point?
The larger problem is editing a polygon (point or points) and the Text Wrap simultaneously - rather than the two paths acting independently.
At the moment, I have to switch the Text Wrap off, edit the shape, then switch the Text Wrap of zero back on. Surely, the most common use of Text Wraps on polygons is to push text away from a polygon that follows the outline of an image - why, therefore, is it default that you can move a Text Wrap point(s) without moving the parent point(s) on the polygon – and vice versa – at once? How can they be connected so when one moves, the other moves?

For me - in CS6 - the Text Wrap path can behave as though it is above the polygon path which is frustrating if the Text Wrap is set to Zero. Though it is irregular......
Try this ...polygon with Text Wrap of Zero - nothing selected - select a point - move the point - works! (in that the polygon path moves and the Text Wrap path moves with it) - but then (without de-selecting the polygon) - select a different point - move the point - only the Text Wrap has been moved and, from then on, the polygon and Text Wrap are disconnected (unless the whole thing is selected).
I realise if the Text Wrap is set to something other than Zero, this is not an issue as the two paths are easily distinguished and, unless you deliberately choose a Text Wrap path point and adjust it, the two paths remain happily connected, but having it set to Zero gives me the most precise control. At the moment, I switch Text Wrap off and on repeatedly whilst adjusting the polygon otherwise I end up with lots of wires everywhere. I think it should be harder to disconnect a Text Wrap from its parent polygon - not sure why anyone would want to disconnect the two in any case!

(Please note DOT before filename, which make the file hidden...)
use "ls -a" command to list hidden files.
its a basic question, why don't you search google for such issues.
It will also help you to understand the system better...

i have one question (hopefully the tutorer will answer soon), which is the goal and reason i'm learning ExtendScripts:
I have a few dozen Adobe Illustrator, imported Shape Layers with paths "Created..from Vector Layers" in AEffects.
In order to use a .jsxbin script to change every path to the same number of verticies for animating, i must 1st convert them to Keyframes on the same Mask Path property.
1) i hoped to please be shown\sent an example showing how to,..
a) Get\Retrieve "KeyValue" from multiple, single (Shape Layers):Outlines > Contents > Group > Path > Path as shown in screenshot "4-CreateShapeFromVecLyr2Outlines.JPG",
and then,..
b) "SetValue" from those paths into Mask > Mask Path keyframes also in screenshot "1-ExtendScript_ShapePathsTOMaskPathKeyframes.JPG"?

esp. with my limited experience i can't determine how your concise script works.
Because it 1st errors esp. with undefines i'm thinking at best its incomplete (or algorithm) to give me the gist and i'm to fill in the blanks, which i am doing with the sort of working code example pasted below.
Its written with every definition, declaration and initialization completed, so a novice like me can read the manuals, rev. eng. pertinant script(s), then with fragmented code and understanding quickly connecting to form a complete custom script, as we've all done.

But i could'nt find a ref. to either .content or content. anywhere in ExtendScript, nor "targetLayer.mask", and "targetLayer" i found once in ref. to ExtendScript as an AE layer name. So perhaps their your variables?, you see i can't determine or use.
i don't know that was'nt meant, maybe a bit to tell me do my own research?, no offence, can't confirm that without reply, hope you will, but my research is why i'm here and your probably advanced script could only help with your assistance.

How to make smart shape buttons turn colors after clicking on them? I am using buttons as links to learning paths and would like users to know which buttons they have allready clicked on when returning to main menu.

Here is the workflow which you can follow to achieve this functionality.
Puspendra: You can choose image button and then choose from the available image buttons, or click on the folder icon when you select the image button and choose from the Gallery of Captivate 6.
Puspendra: Few image buttons change color on hover or onclicked, these effects are predefined in them.
Puspendra: Or you can edit that button on which you are working, from properties Panel.
Puspendra: The Post and Cancel button on this thread seems like a transparent button in Captivate with different fill and stroke color, and transparency is also less, and with corner radius of 0.
Puspendra: You will find these all optionns, when you will click on that button and then click on the properties panel.

Shape/Path - transform/convert -bug?

I have noticed a few subtle UI changes in PShop CC -some of which seem like bugs. Here's one:
When I apply "transform" to a newly created Elipse path (which has been pre-specified as a path), I get this prompt:
"This operation will turn a live shape into a regular path. Continue?"
But the elipse I have created is NOT a shape. The Path option has alrady been selected. Yes, this is a very minor quibble, but as a former beta (and alpha) tester, I tend to be compulsively thorough! OTOH, perhaps there is a user error on my part. I did double check that new paths created with elipse tool are spec'd as "paths".

There are some issues with the new shapes. I'm not 100% sure on this but they now have "Live shapes" where you can set some of the shape/path properties like how rounded the curves are on a rounded rectangle. So I guess the elipse also has some "Live" properties. However, once you transform the shape/path, you lose the ability to edit those properties and the shape/path becomes a regualar shape/path. I suppose it would be good for them to specify in the alert what exactly on what you working - path or shape.

All the shapes you create with Adobe Shape are stored in a CC Library. This means you can access them in other desktop, mobile, and web apps. Detailed instructions below.
How to access your shapes in Creative Cloud
Desktop: In order for this to work, you must have the most recent version of Illustrator and Photoshop.
Open Adobe Illustrator on your desktop.
Open the Libraries panel (Windows > Libraries)
Your shapes should be present in your Libraries. If you don’t see them there, select the libraries drop down to see if you saved your shapes in a different library.
Now, you can drag the shape onto your canvas.
At this point, you can continue working with your shape, by adding editing. Or, you can simply save the file. Of course, after you save it to your desktop, you can email, post online, etc.
Mobile apps:
Open Adobe Illustrator Draw and open a drawing.
Tap the Shapes icon to open the Shapes menu.

By "path", I assume you mean "classpath".
The simplest way is simply to include the jars you need inside the web application or web module's WEB-INF/lib directory, EJB module's META-INF/lib directory, or EAR lib directory.
If that's not practical, if you use NodeManager to start your servers, you can go to the "Server Start" tab in the server definition in the WebLogic console and edit the "Classpath" field, which defaults to no value. You can specify a classpath value there. Note that if you specify a value there, it REPLACES the default classpath for the server, it doesn't add to it. If you need to just add to it (a much more likely scenario), if the value references the value "$CLASSPATH" in it, that will reference the original classpath value that the server would have had.
So, for instance, if you wanted to include the MQ jars in the server classpath, you could set a value like this:
/usr/java/mq/lib/mq.jar:/usr/java/mq/lib/mqstuff.jar:$CLASSPATH

BI 7.0 infospoke - how to change standard destination path on appl. server

Hello,
I have the following problem:
I need to extract large amounts of data from infocubes to flatfiles. I have created an infospoke to do this. However, in this infospoke, the destination path, when I choose application server, is fixed.
In BW 3.x, there is a document "BW 3.1 Open Hub Extraction Enhancement Using Literal Filename and Path.pdf" that describes how to change the destination path for the application server.
This solution does not work for BI 7.0, I get short dumps, probably due to ABAP OO.
I need to extract the data to flat files on the application server, not on my local machine, nor into a table in SAP itself, so I need to change the destination path, because the amount of free storage is limited in the standard destination path.
Has anyone encountered this problem in BI 7.0 and solved it?

I never had a simmilar problem but, if you go to your InfoSpoke, right click --> "Change" you can see (and change... ) the following values:
Destination Type: FILE (the one you have choosen)
Application Server: Check Box (I think this is your setting)
Server name: (BW server)
Type of File Name: (Here you can choose Between "File Name" or "Logical File Name")
Appl.Server File N: "MY_FILE.CSV" (for example)
Directory: (The directory you want - take a look at the end of this post )
Separator: (The field separator)
Note : If you are working with Linux or Unix you have to look if the BW system user has the corresponding rigths to write in the FileSystem.
.          In the beginning I advice you to use something like this /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<XX>/work

I want to use castor xml framework in adf application..
for which i have to un- marshaller the xml file..
by using following method-

if i use this method in a java class inside a main method directly it works fine,
but when i try to initiate the java class through a jspx page deployed on integrated server..
it gives the file not found exception..
how to define the file path so it can be properly used even when application is deployed on server.

I guess the path you are using is wrong. It works on your mashiene as the src path is available. When you run the app on a server (jspx file) there is no src path as long as you don't include it in your WAR wich you should not do anyway.
If you need to access such data you can create a folder in your webroot folder and the the resources from there as /xml_folder_name or if the xml files shouldn't be visible from the outside put the folder under hte web-inf folder.

In webdynpro java, first file stores in server location then it reads from server.
Create a button with upload and write this code OnAction
Resource is the attribute name in context of type com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Resource, this attribute is for Resource property for Upload UI Element.

How to give jdk location path in windows 7 for odi installation

I downloaded a file ofm_odi_generic_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of1 and ofm_rcu_win_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of1 .
In ofm_rcu_win_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of1 file i found java in bin under jdk.
In my pc Path is D:\OdiHome\rcu\rcuHome\jdk\bin
The above same path i gave but it was not taking any thing and asking same question specify jdk location.
Kindly provide me the details how to make this success .Thanks in advance.

The path is now managed by Windows 7 and not the autoexec.bat or autoexec.nt files. To change the system environment variables, follow the below steps.
1.From the desktop, right-click My Computer and click Properties.
2.In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
3.In the Advanced section, click the Environment Variables button.
4.Finally, In Environment Variable window User variables in Techno
Click on Add button and provide below information
Variable Name: JAVA_HOME
Value: D:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24
Again Click on Add button and enter below details
Variable Name: path

In opposite, both JBuilder and Together support that there is a tree
with the sources and another tree with the classes.
The first answer I got was "not possible with Forte, but just if you write your own "ANT Build script" !
a) Please point me to a ready-to-use ANT script for this purpose, if such is available
b) Is using ANT instead of the MAKE as comfortable ? Besides the separation of sourcecode and classes, I would like to keep everything else to be the same, i.e. I don�t want to edit the ANT file if I enlarge the project by directories or files.

You can set S1S's options to place newly created .class files in a specific location.
Identify the compiler that is being used - Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Editing and select Java Sources. Note the Default Compiler value. (If it's one if the Ant options, you use Ant to specify this option, not S1S.)
Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Building/Compiler Types and select the appropriate compiler.
The Properties tab of the compiler has the property Target, which sets the filesystem where the compiler output is directed. If you choose <not set>, the .class files are written to their source directory.
When you set the Target, your change affects all classes that use this compiler.
Very few options can't be set in S1S; the challenge is finding out where they're set!

Edited hyperlinked shape images not hyperlinking properly when published

I've tried to add and edit hyperlinked shape images at the top of the page, namely "The PolySteel Systems" and "FAQs". No matter what I do--bring to front, recreate a brand new image, copy and paste one I know works--the published version does not hyperlink properly. I unselect "make all hyperlinks inactive" in the hyperlink inspector pane, rollover my mouse to ensure that all buttons take me to the proper place, then click them to prove it. Works in iWeb, not on the published page.
Does anyone know how iWeb creates the code? When I save changes I've made, does it rewrite code for the entire page, or does it plug in edits at the end of the existing code? When I go in to view source in safari, it looks like it put the two edited/added images in a different location.
Help! Visitors/potential customers are missing a valuable link on my site.

Yes, each is its own image, as making one text box and hyperlinking each word/phrase results in the unchangeable (arrrgh!) grey underlined text that changes to red on rollover.
I've already been experimenting with exactly what you mentioned. I just tried shrinking all the image boxes, without encroaching on the text, so they would clearly not overlap. I'm publishing to me.com for these experiments so I don't have to keep publishing the entire site to a folder, then ftping to my server. Here's the page I just experimented with:

In iWeb, all links are good to go, no overlapping, etc. Curiously enough, on this page, there are even more dysfunctional hyperlinks with those image boxes.
