How to enable Comment functionality in Design Studio

Hi Experts,
How can we enable comment functionality in Design studio? This is important for users:
a) To enter comments in the application
b) To see the comments after reopening the application again. This means, it needs to be stored somewhere.
This application is built on top of a BEx Query.

Hi Jomy - I see your point
Looking at Figure 7 here Lumira and Design Studio Updates Roadmap from ASUG Annual Conference - Part 2 it is not going to be built in Design Studio
So my opinion only here - either you buy CubeServ add-on or you build SDK yourself. As an accountant I would do cost-benefit - how long (cost) would it take for someone other than CubeServ to do it versus buying from CubeServ.
Maybe others have ideas?

Is there any way available to enable comments into pdf files through java. I have a Adobe Reader 9 and also I want put some comments into pdf file, but the reader is not allowed to place a comment into pdf file before enabling the Comments into pdf. After enabling the comments in pdf file then only we can place the comments and we can the pdf file with comments.
Is there any way available to enable comments into pdf file to view acrobat reader.

The end user who uses the web application has Acrobat installed in their mahcine needs it only for the purpose of enabling comments in pdf. If this task of enabling comments in pdf is done through my application there is no need for acrobat in such user's machine which was requested as a cost cuttnig measure.
For this purpose, i need to know about how to enable comments in pdf through java api.
I have used itext java api for other pdf related manipulation in java. But it does not have feature as per the requirement posted above. Can any body suggest relevant java api to achieve the task requested?

Substring Function in Design Studio

Hello all,
I have a question. Is there any substring like function in Design Studio because I have a string and I need to cut the part of the string on the dashboard to show.
For Example
My String: HELLO
I only want to get "EL" from that string and show that on the dashboard.
Is that possible?

How To Enable Commenting By Others??

Could you tell me how to enable commenting by the individuals I send 3D PDF's to. It is my understanding that recipients of my 3D PDF's do have the ability to measure and comment on my PDF's. Thank you in advance.

In Acrobat 3D or Acrobat Pro, open the document, go to Comments > Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader...

What do you mean you are "using Adobe Reader'? Inside of a browser? Inside of your application? Stand-alone?

BW RRI /Jump query functionality in Design Studio

Hi Folks
Could someone throw light on the following functionality:
I am using Design Studio 1.2 with BI 4.1 SP1 and BW 7.3 SP9 .
I have a BW query which is having jump query in it. I have included it in the Design studio. I have configured Query A .
But with in the same page/Cross tab i am not able to configure the jump query.
Is there a standard /customizing way to achieve this functionality? if yes how.

How to enable commenting in PDF?

Using RH9. Generating a PDF for review from WebHelp. RH shows me the Create PDF for review dialog box but the Enable commenting in Adobe Reader option is dimmed. How can I activate this feature?

Just a comment and observation here on a couple of things.
Sure, it's Adobe's sandbox and they are free to do what they like with their products. However, they do tend to listen to customers in order to decide which features to add, remove or enhance. And if they hear from several different customers, they pay more attention. You get their ear by completing a Wish Form/Bug Report. These are always read by the product teams.
Soooo, you (and any others reading this that feel this way) should please submit a Wish Form to advise Adobe that you want to see these "suite only" features work with the stand alone versions of the product. But here's the kicker. The features should only work if you have the other required Adobe software. What I mean by this is that many folks purchase Acrobat separately and RoboHelp separately as individual items. It seems ridiculous to me (as I'm sure it does to you) that if you have both pieces of the required software, that a feature requiring both would also require a "special version" of both so they are now integrated. It forces the customers into making an additional purchase and duplicating software just to get a feature working.
And your comment about Ankur? Well, completing that Wish Form (link is in my sig) will put your comment in front of his eyes. Really it will! Posting here probably won't do it. It's like shouting at the wind and hoping the president hears it. Completing the Wish Form is like making a direct telephone call to the president's answering machine.

How to develop Arrow & Bubbles in Design studio

Hello All,
Need your help to develop below two components which contains difference between two columns :-
Currently using Design studio version - 1.2
1)How do I develop these "Arrows" in Design Studio ( I have inserted arrow as image component but i think it is not right way to display )
2)How do I develop these "Bubbles" in Design Studio. ( for example :- If i use text box then converst it to bubble by using CSS but if the chart values change, we cannot have a simple text object)
Please let me know any possible answer to design above components.

How to enable commenting in RH8

In the Adobe online help, it states that one can "enable commenting" and the comments are stored to a shared folder somewhere. How to enable this in RH8?

I think that only applies to the locally-installed flavour of AIRHelp

How to enable commenting for Adobe Reader users--missing menu option?

According to the help file, I can enable commenting in Acrobat Pro X so that Adobe Reader users can use annotation and commenting tools. The help file says:
"In an open PDF, choose Comments > Enable For Commenting In Adobe Reader, and then save the PDF.:"
However, all is see on my menubar is:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro X. I have installed Acrobat Pro X on a machine that has never had Acrobat Pro installed on it. Each time I see only the shortened version of menu options.
So, why do I only see File, Edit, View, Window and Help? Where are the other menu items, such as Comments, Forms, Tools, etc? Is there something I need to do to enable them?

When exit they normally ask whether we want SAVE & QUIT, how to enable that function to appear?

As stated above, how can we enable that function back again? As it is troublesome for me when i exit and next day i need click those necessary tab out.

You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle the value with a double left-click.

Another possibility is to use:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so in that version there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

How to enable comments on Reader

Hello,
One of the main uses I had of Acrobat 9 was to enable comments on my PDF files for Adobe Reader. Now I upgraded to Acrobat XI, and I could not locate that option anywhere. I looked for it in the menus and the help, Googled it and searched here, to no avail.
I understand that Adobe Reader XI does not need that permission to put comments on files. But I still need to enable the comments, for users who will get my files that do not have Adobe Reader XI - in particular Linux users, given that the most recent Reader for Linux is 9.5.5.
Can anyone help me? Am I missing something obvious?

Am doing one desktop application for Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 in Java. Am in need to enable the comment option in Acrobat. I have idea to do this requirement through some other Third Party Scripts. Even i done that by script means, i want to do the interaction between the script and my application in JAVA. So, The better way i chosen was creating the entire application by JAVA. I have found some information by Google. There is some package to access the Adobe called adobe-utilities.jar. By using the package we can access the adobe application. Can someone guide me to develop my application module?

I have found that some JAR like adobe-utilities.jar,j2ee.jar has some facilities to do the existing operations with a JAVA code. Import selected photos button not working, Please tell me how to enable this function.

in Iphoto on macbook pro, the 'import selected' button blacked out, only 'import all photos' works, pls tell me how to get this to work. i'd like to transfer only selected photos to ipad. Have tried to import by copy/paste method into itunes but still cannot be done, every way i've tried is restricted. I don't want to send all my photos through email. neither do i want to use icloud. all i simply want is to have only selected photos sent through my USB cable connected from my macbook pro to send photos to Ipad. It seems Apple have made these strange restrictions for whatever purpose i don't know.

If you went through the 5 Rs step by step and you're still having problems, it might be time to find an iPod repair service. Apple will charge you as it's out of warranty. You can probably find third party repair outfits that will do it more cheaply.
