How to develop Arrow & Bubbles in Design studio

Hello All,
Need your help to develop below two components which contains difference between two columns :-
Currently using Design studio version - 1.2
1)How do I develop these "Arrows" in Design Studio ( I have inserted arrow as image component but i think it is not right way to display )
2)How do I develop these "Bubbles" in Design Studio. ( for example :- If i use text box then converst it to bubble by using CSS but if the chart values change, we cannot have a simple text object)
Please let me know any possible answer to design above components.

How to enable Comment functionality in Design Studio

Hi Experts,
How can we enable comment functionality in Design studio? This is important for users:
a) To enter comments in the application
b) To see the comments after reopening the application again. This means, it needs to be stored somewhere.
This application is built on top of a BEx Query.

Hi Jomy - I see your point
Looking at Figure 7 here Lumira and Design Studio Updates Roadmap from ASUG Annual Conference - Part 2 it is not going to be built in Design Studio
So my opinion only here - either you buy CubeServ add-on or you build SDK yourself. As an accountant I would do cost-benefit - how long (cost) would it take for someone other than CubeServ to do it versus buying from CubeServ.
Maybe others have ideas?

Design Studio 1.2 SDK - How can standard UI5 themes be loaded for custom components?

The SAPUI5 library that is embedded in the Design Studio framework includes standard themes such as the Blue Crystal theme. When developing UI5-based SDK components with DS 1.2 SP00, I was able to successfully load the built-in Blue Crystal theme by simply including the following statement in the component.js file:
sap.ui.getCore().applyTheme("sap_bluecrystal");
However, as of DS 1.2 SP01 this approach no longer seems to work. I don't receive any error messages either. The theme simply doesn't load like it used to or sometimes might just load partially.
The only difference I can see between SP00 and SP01 in terms of the UI5 framework is that it has been upgraded from version 1.12.7 to 1.14.6 but this shouldn't impact the validity of the above statement.
I'd appreciate it if anyone has any ideas about why the applyTheme() method no longer works and how this issue might be fixed.
Of course there is the workaround of manually including the theme files with a <cssInclude> tag in the contribution.xml file but this seems like a waste of resources given that technically, the theme is already included in the Design Studio framework.

I have created a Plan in Design Studio of Enterprise Link and i would like to put it in a report which i am planning to create using BAM active studio. Can some body tell me how to access things created in Enterprise Link from active studio/architect.

You have to create a plan to connect to the external message source, get the message and parse , and finally put it in the ADC data object (user created object). After this step, all your incoming messages will be in ADC data object. Only after getting the message into ADC object, you can use this object - you can create reports using this object.

How to set a BEx Query Condition in Design Studio (e.g. Net value GT 0)

Hi experts,
I have set a simple condition in my BEx Query...
e.g. key figure "Net value" GT 0 to become only positive values in the query result.
In the Query runtime the condition works successful, but in the Design Sudio view the defined Query condition doesn´t work.
In my Design Studio crosstab I have tried to switch between the display setting "Conditional formating Visible" true/false, but without success.
By the way, before I have posted this thread, I had a look at this two blogs...

Hi Michael,
I think you are mixing up two different BEx terms. Conditions are filters on key figures (show me only the results with a value bigger than 50). Exceptions do not filter the result set, but provide a formatting based on the values in the result set (if value is bigger than 50, make its cell red).
The Conditional formatting setting in Design Studio refers to the BEx exceptions. For the BEx conditions there isn't such a setting available. You just have to activate the condition in your BEx Query and use that for your data source in Design Studio.
If you want a workaround to enable/disable conditions from Design Studio, check this blog I wrote: HackingSAP.com - SAP Design Studio and Conditions It shows how you can use variables to adjust the conditions (and also activate) from within Design Studio.

There was an requirement from our client to show only last six months in the drop down, when actually there is almost past 30 months are coming from the database. The data format also looks similar to "2014007", "2014006:..etc. Any idea to achieve this through loop.?

i have a datasource DS_2 and i just want to show specific Members of my keyfigures.
When i fill my dropdown with this code it just gets empty and returns an error. Somehow i have to say if i want to show the Key or Text ?
i also need this infiormation to be able to compare my elements in the if clause ?!
Can you help me out ?

Need Information of how to Consume/Execute Planning Function & Planning Sequence in Design Studio

Dear Colleague,
We are trying to have a PoC demonstrating BW planning function and Planning sequence in SAP Business Objects Design Studio.
1. In the process, we have built our own Planning function and Planning sequences in our BW system and they are working as per expectation in the BW system.
2. We added the Planning function and Planning Sequence on to the Design Studio App.
But now how to we add these Planning function and Planning sequence on to the Dashboard.
Is there any container to add these planning objects on to the dashboard.
Or how to execute or Consume these Planning functions and sequences in Design Studio dashboard.
And any Document or Information in detail would definitely help a lot.

Thanks for replying!
But Since this is an Internal project. We are already using Version 1.3.
Solving double purpose of evaluating the tool and coming up with the application as well.
As I said in my previous description, we were able to add Planning Functions and Planning Sequences on to Design Studio using menu options available.
But not sure of how to consume or execute them in the app. To get the rows of records, change values, Save and Transfer values as we do it with the Planning function with BW backend.

We are a small design studio how do we install lion on all machines

We are a small design studio with 8 imacs. How do we install Lion on all 8. Do we have to download the installer 8 times! at 4gb a download that is a lot of bandwidth. Or can one person sign in to the App store and download then distribute to all 8 machines?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

I have absolutely no experience with commercial or volume licensing; but, as a business, you might want to pay special attention to para. 2B and C. The terms are not the same as they are for a single user.

How to add Design Studio BI App into BI Workspace?

Hi,
is it possible to add Design Studio BI Apps into a BI Workspace (DE: BI-Arbeitsbereich) on the BIP?
How can this be done? Has anyone successfully done it?
BIP: BI 4.0 SP6
I'm able to add Web Intelligence reports/files but in the folders where all the Design Studio files are I can only see the images. It looks like BI 4.0 SP6 BI-Workspace doesn't recognize the DS BI app file types?

As you suggested first I tried the Web Page Module - I configured it directly with the 1 OpenDoc url - it worked.
I ended up with the following solution for now:
Here: BI-Launchpad > Documents > Folders > Public Folders > in the folder with the Design Studio reports
I created: right click > New > Hyperlink: in the URL field I added the OpenDoc url of a DS report (bi app)
and under/in BI workspace:
(Layout: Freeform)
From "Templates" I added 2 objects: "Navigation List" and "Viewer"
From "Public Modules" I added the Hyperlink object I created previously - drag & drop into the Navigation List, and now when somebody clicks on the item (Hyperlink object) in the Navigation List, the document/report opens in the Viewer. Now I can have several items in the Navigation List and have them opened in the same Viewer (of course 1 report at a time).

How to read data row by row in design studio 1.2

Hi All,
I have a requirement to display data as a a ticker in my design studio application.
Attached picture shows the requirement.
I want to display top 3 best selling products from the data source. Data source will have two columns i.e. Product Name and Revenue. Requirement is to display top 3 product in a single ticker as presented below.
1. Product Name + Revenue 2. Product Name + Revenue 3.Product Name + Revenue
Any idea how to achieve this?

Through the getData() function we can display the measure but as far as I know I never came across any function to display dimension value for that measure in design studio. In my requirement I need to display both measure and dimension (1. Product Name + Revenue).
I have never used the KPI tile SDK component but does it provide this functionality as well?
I have already seen this ticker code. It works fine for displaying a text box in ticker. But if someone wants to display something like above, then is it possible to read data row by row from a data source and then concatenate it as a string in a text box to display it in a ticker?
