How to enable copy , cut for Rich Text editors

I have a rich-text with cut , copy options but when i try to cut or copy it gives me the following error -
Your browser's security settings don't permit the editor to execute cut operations.
Please use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl/Cmd+X).
I have tried editing the user.js and almost all the solutions given related to it here but still it doesn't seem to work.
Please Please Please give me some solution for this.

Are you not able to use the text editer to access anything displayed with Firefox, for instance this forum, or is it only specific file locations that are affected.
What is the software you are using, and have you tried any other alternatives.
And can you give a very simple example of something you try to do and can not.

  • Database Column Type for Rich Text Editor

    Hi,
    I have a page item as Rich Text Editor. Now I want to store the data in tables in the same format as user entered in the page item.
    What would be the database column type for that?
    Thanks,

    What would be the database column type for that?As usual, the answer is "It depends".
    In this case it depends on the nature and size of the content. For content up to 4000 bytes in length, use VARCHAR2 or NVARCHAR2 (depending on the DB character set and globalization requirements), for content of longer length use CLOB or NCLOB (again depending on DB characterset and your globalization requirements).
    Note the effect of DB character set on the number of characters you can store in a VARCHAR2 or NVARCHAR2 column, and the overhead of HTML tags generated by formatting in the Rich Text Editor.

  • How to disable copy option for a text item in oracle forms

    Hello experts,
                  I am using oracle forms 11g with weblogic server 10.3.5 at windows7.I have a text item in my oracle form and I have to disable to being copy from a text item in oracle forms.Actually I have to make two text item.First text item to type a password and another text item is also to type password.Here I want that the data from first text item should not be copy through the use of mouse or keyboard shortcut key.
    thank you
    regards
    aaditya

    Thank You To reply, Actually doing so as you said,My problem would not be solved.This would hide data in text item than I will not be able to copy that but in my case the data should not be concealed.Actually I have to make a Form to  User registration and here is a strictly boundation to have a right email address of user.There would two text items for this purpose as: N_User_Email------> to type email address in text item.Here user would not be able to copy text written from N_User_Email R_User_Email  ------> to type email address again as in N_User_Email.

  • How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??

    How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??
    I created a pop-up menu with CUT, COPY, PASTE, UNDO, CLEAR for my text items.
    Using MAGIC menu type works great but there is no MAGIC for UNDO or REDO.....
    How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??
    I have Oracle Forms 6i...
    Lets say I highlight all the text in the text item, and start typing over it... then I realize OH NO it is the wrong text field...
    Now I want to UNDO the typing and get back to the previous text.
    I'd use the initial value that was populate right? How do I access that if that is correct?
    Thanks, Bill

    You can use;
    <ITEM> := Get_Item_Property(<ITEM>,DATABASE_VALUE);
    Or you will have to write a pre-text-item trigger;
    PRE-TEXT-ITEM:
    :CTRL.CURRENT_VAL := :<BLOCK>.<ITEM>
    MENU (PL/SQL):
    :<BLOCK>.<ITEM> := :CTRL.CURRENT_VAL;
    You may also want to set the item property back to ITEM_IS_VALID so that item validation does not fire again.

  • How do i copy, cut and paste on firefox

    How can I copy cut and paste on firefox? I have windows 8! Please Help !!!!!!

    You should just be able to perform these functions as you do in any application by doing one of the following:
    * Select some content, right-click your selection and select 'Copy' or 'Cut' from the menu. To paste, right-click in a text area or input field and select 'Paste'.
    * Select some content and press Ctrl+C to copy or Ctrl+X to cut. To paste, click in an input field or text area and press Ctrl+V.
    In webpages you cannot cut content that is not in a text area or input field, and you cannot paste to somewhere other than a text area or input field. Some sites also use preventative measures to stop (or at least hinder - there is usually some way around it) copying (often to prevent plagiarism).

  • Using rich text editor (RTE) for custom applications

    Our users enter texts on two places:
    1) In Oracle Portal in text-items using the Rich Text Editor.
    2) In text-fields in a custom application using html-tags <textarea>blabla</textarea>. For formatting the users currently have to type in html-tags themselves. Now we want to provide them an html-editor.
    We would prefer to use the Rich Text Editor also for the custom application. However, that is integrated in Portal and the java-scripts are not easy to follow.
    Have you tried something similar? So, did you use the Rich Text Editor for your own application? If yes, how?
    If not, a very good alternative would be the qwebeditor (see http://www.qwebeditor.com). Did anybody replace the standard Portal rich text editor with the qwebeditor? In the Portal guides there are instructions about replacing the Portal rich text editor by another editor, but it is not clear if this will also work with the qwebeditor.
    Thanks for your respons !
    Best regards, Jan Willem Vermeer

    Hi Jan,
    I have configured FCKeditor in a few clients, and the process it's pretty straight forward, you can use the steps in the document (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/pdf/cm_rte_1014_features.pdf) .
    Basically you download FCKeditor and put it in your apache server (you can put it unde rthe htdocs folder) after that, all you need to do is modify $ORACLE_HOME/portal/images/webword/buildUIHTML.html to reference the FCKeditor JS and CSS, and you can do the same type of reference for your custom apps.

  • Rich Text Editor functionality for a DIV tag in a publishing page in SharePoint online

    Hi,
    We are having a requirement where we need RTE behavior of SharePoint 2013 Rich Html Field for a custom DIV. The scenario goes like this:
    1. I have a publishing page
    2. I dropped the content editor web part and to that content editor web part I will point to an HTML file that needs to be rendered in that content editor web part
    3. I have one DIV in the above mentioned HTML files and I want that div to be editable and I need to RTE options for that DIV.
    How to accomplish the above behavior?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create html rich text editor for a DIV tag in a publishing page in SharePoint online.
    You can create your own Rich Text Editor.
    Here are some great blogs for your reference:

  • How can I copy a paragraph of text from a Kindle book on the iPad?

    I just purchased a book to read on the Kindle app on my iPad.
    I would like to copy a paragraph of text to email to someone or to possibly quote in a blog post.
    How can I copy a paragraph of text from a Kindle book on the iPad?

    I'm very late to the conversation but thought I'd chime in since I've just been dealing with this myself. One way to copy from Kindle books is to make sure that you have your settings to backup highlights etc. online, then highlight the text in the Kindle app, go to your Kindle webpage (https://kindle.amazon.com/your_highlights) and copy the text from there.
    Remember, to be able to do this you have to set the app to backup highlights etc. I think this is set individually for each book. On my iPad the default is to backup.

  • Rich Text Editor: Block cut and paste

    I have a text block where users can type in a statement. If I use the standard default Text Area, I can use Javascript to prevent them from pasting in text (actually, I need to block both cut and paste). This is because the statement has to be typed in manually - not copied from a previous statement.
    However, if I use any of the Rich Text Editors, i can't block the paste command (either CTRL-V or the right-click and "Paste"). Is there any way in either of the editors (FCKEditor or CK Editor 3) to block the ability to paste into the form? I would like to give them some of the additional editting features (spell check, etc) but I can't let them paste.
    Please advise.
    Thank you in advance.

    This may be a result of the fonts the Word doc used.
    Pages does not use an algorithm to 'create' an italicised character from the 'base' version. It can show italics only if the font used contains an italic set.
    Paste and match style pastes only the bare text, and uses the font and other attributes already set at the insertion point in the Pages document.

    Hi Don,
    Similar to your script above, but try this in the enter event:
    if (this.rawValue === this.assist.toolTip.value) {
              this.rawValue = "";
    and then this on the exit event:
    if (this.rawValue === null) {
              this.rawValue = this.assist.toolTip.value;
    Alter to suit formatting and initialize event, etc.

  • How to extend Rich Text Editor in Portal 10.1.4

    Is there a note that explains how to extend the InsertImage feature of the rich text editor in portal 10.1.4.
    It was very straightforward in 10.1.2, but the RTE has changed with 10.1.4 and I didn't find an updated version of the following technical note: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/pdf/cm_rte_10gr2_features.pdf
    Than'ks

    Hi Raphael,
    In fact my goal is to extend WebWord Editor and not replacing it. For example I want to add a new Image Picker in WebWord, what I had done in 10.1.2, allowing a user to select an image file from a Portal Page. It was as simple as replacing an url reference in BuildUIEmbed.html (by default pointing to a static image picker page).
    It seems not so simple in WebWord, as the URL of the image picker in BuildUIEmbed.html is replaced by a "RAW HTML static source" in the javascript "popup.js" (see InsertImage() function)
    I'd like to replace this raw HTML by an url pointing to a dynamic page browsing my images. I allready have done this dynamic page but I'm not a javascript expert. If you have any ideas ...
    Than'ks anyway.

  • How to customize the Rich Text Editor task flow in the doc lib?

    Dear Experts in WCP forum,
    You know that webcenter portal has a feature is called customizing task flow.. so we have client request to customize the Rich Text Editor task flow of the Document library. Such as disable the Format, Font, Size drop down menu of the richtext editor UI.   But after I open the editHTML.jsff of the oracle.webcenter.doclib. the code is like this:
                        <f:facet name="richtext">
                               <af:panelGroupLayout layout="scroll" id="rtepng2">
                                  <rte:editor id="rte" value="#{pageFlowScope.rte.HTMLTextArea}" converter="#{pageFlowScope.rte.HTMLConverter}"/>
                                  <!-- keep region wrapped in the facet to be stretched-->
                                  <af:region value="#{bindings.linksResourcePicker.regionModel}" id="lpr"/>
                               </af:panelGroupLayout>
                            </f:facet>
    So likes that editor in fact is from <rte:editor tag.. my question is how to dig into this <rte:editor  to find its jsff code?  And change the menu inside to do the cusomization for them?
    Is that possible?
    A million thanks here in advance!

          </deferred-value>
        </attribute>
      </tag>
    Which means that if you want to change the toolbar you have to check what is the type of toolbars the CKEditor uses, I can tell you that there are two defaults: Basic and Full and I believe the tag uses a custom toolbar called WC by default.
    So if you want to change the toolbar to only show basic, change the toolbarSet property to Basic to make the final result looks like <rte:editor id="rte" value="#{pageFlowScope.rte.HTMLTextArea}" converter="#{pageFlowScope.rte.HTMLConverter}" toolbarSet="Basic" />
    This is not tested, this is only a few insights I got reading about CKEditor

  • How to enable remote debugging for a session other than the current one

    Hi all,
    I am trying to figure out how to enable remote debugging for a session other than the one I am currently using.
    More specifically, we have an application that is making database calls to Oracle 11gR2. Something is causing an exception during this invocation. My system is currently not set up to recompile said application, so I can't just add the debug call to the code and recompile. Therefore I would like to be able to log into the database (as sys, if necessary) and invoke dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp on the desired session.
    The docs indicate that I should be able to do so:
    dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp(
    host IN VARCHAR2,
    port IN VARCHAR2,
    session_id IN PLS_INTEGER := NULL,
    session_serial IN PLS_INTEGER := NULL,
    debug_role IN VARCHAR2 := NULL,
    debug_role_pwd IN VARCHAR2 := NULL,
    option_flags IN PLS_INTEGER := 0,
    extensions_cmd_set IN PLS_INTEGER := 128);
    But when I try (even as sys), I get the following:
    exec dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp('1.2.3.4',5678,<session id>,<session serial>);ORA-00022: invalid session ID; access denied
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP", line 68
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    00022. 00000 - "invalid session ID; access denied"
    *Cause:    Either the session specified does not exist or the caller
    does not have the privilege to access it.
    *Action:   Specify a valid session ID that you have privilege to access,
    that is either you own it or you have the CHANGE_USER privilege.
    I've tried granting the 'BECOME USER' privilege for the relevant users, but that didn't help. I read something about having to set some kind of ACL as of 11gR1, but the reference documentation was very confusing.
    Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? Is this even possible, or did I misread the documentation?

    Interesting deduction, that would be very useful indeed. I hate recompiling just to add the debug call, and it can't be done in our production environment. But it seems unlikely to me it would be implemented this way.
    I would cross-post this in the SQL AND PL/SQL forum though, as this is really a database issue, not with the SQL Developer tool. Do add the links to the other posts in each.
    Regards,
    K.
