How to encrypt Password while calling Portal URL from Abap

Hi all,
My requirement is to call portal from R/3 4.6C.  As part of it I'm calling Portal URL along with user id & Password by using the FM CALL_BROWSER. The problem here is User ID & Password are visible everyone in the URL.
Is there any way that I can encrypt sothat it doesn't become a security issue?
I really appreaciate for your help.
Thanks
Seshu

can you please mention the abap code  by which you are sending the username and password to a portal via url.....
are you able to log on to the portal...please share your code ......

  • Calling Portal event from ABAP class

    Hi Experts,
    I need a following clarificatrion, Please help,
    1. Is it possible to call a webdynpro method from a normal ABAP class?
    2. If no, we need a functionality of a class 'CL_WDR_HTTP_EXT_MIME_HANDLER' having method 'DO_DOMAIN_RELAX_HTML'.
    Is there any alternative method which can be used in ABAP having the same functionality.
    3. Is there any ways with which we can call portal event from ABAP class?
    Thanks,
    Shabir

    >1. Is it possible to call a webdynpro method from a normal ABAP class?
    I wouldn't necessarily recommend this approach. You shouldn't try to trigger events or any of the standard WDDO* methods from outside the WD Component itself.  That said, you can pass the object reference (like the WD_COMP_CONTROLLER object reference or the View Object Reference) into methods of normal classes.  Be careful if you are finding yourself calling a lot of your added methods from outside WD.  This is probably a sign that these methods should be in the Assistance Class or some other Class functioning as a Model Object.
    >2. If no, we need a functionality of a class 'CL_WDR_HTTP_EXT_MIME_HANDLER' having method 'DO_DOMAIN_RELAX_HTML'.
    Is there any alternative method which can be used in ABAP having the same functionality.
    What exactly do you want to do here?  Do you just want to get the relaxation script?  For what purpose?  You should never need to inject the relaxation script into WDA.
    >3. Is there any ways with which we can call portal event from ABAP class?
    To what purpose.  Do you just want to delegate the triggering of the event that is inside WD Component to be called from a class?  If so you can pass the portal API object reference into a class from the WD Component.  However this only works while running within WD.
    How is this class used?  Are you running in WD?  Are you trying to generate some HTML code that runs in the portal independent of WD?

  • Error while calling java program from ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying for RFC inbound scenario.
    We followed the below blog
    /people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2004/08/26/setup-and-test-sap-java-connector-outbound-connection
    We are working with SAP JCO 3.0.2
    We are getting the error : 'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    After I run the Java server program if I execute the RFC destination directly from SM 59 it is showing successful messages.
    If I stop the java program then this RFC is failing. Based on this we concluded that RFC to Java connection is working fine.
    But as mentioned in blog if we call the RFC Destination from ABAP program it is giving the below error,
    'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    If we test the RFC destination using RFC_TRUSTED_CHECK standard FM we are getting the below error.
    'RFCPING' could not be found in the server repository.
    We create the RFC destination of Type : TCP/IP as exactly mention in the blog.
    Please help us in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    Prince

    Pabi,
    Using the RFC connection,we can establish a link between Java and SAP.

  • Call external URL from ABAP userexit, capture data and return it to SAP?

    My apologies if this question has been asked before, but I've searched for a few hours today and haven't found anything directly related to my question.  Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide!
    I would like to be able to make a call from an SAP userexit during Sales Order Entry in the VA01 transaction in the SD module to an external website, allow the user to capture some data in the external site and then pass that data back into the userexit where I can use it to populate internal tables, etc.
    I'm completely unfamiliar with Web Dynpro programming, but this seems like a good place to start my search for a solution.
    Does this sound like a problem that can be solved with Web Dynpro and what documentation or code examples should I reference to go about building such a solution.
    I should also note that I'm hoping to build a solution that could be called from any userexit in R/3, SAP ERP, SAP CRM, etc. and would obviously need to learn about what dependencies to consider (ex: SAP GUI version, SAP product release number, Web AS release, etc.).
    Eric

    Thank you for the response.  Let me provide some additional information.
    The external application will be a Hosted Web page.  It is not an SAP system.
    The external application will be a web page served by a separate system outside of the company domain(shouldn't matter what the technology is I would think - but the web page will be hosted by a different company than the one calling the URL) that would appear as a web page in which the user will enter data, logic will be performed on that data and then some or all of the data would need to be passed back to the calling point in SAP.
    For practical discussions it doesn't matter to me if the call in ABAP occurs in an SD userexit, in a custom report, in an HR screen or in a CRM business partner screen.  There will be many places where this external application may be called from and I'm just trying to figure out how to call an external HTTPS URL and return data from that web page to the calling point in ABAP.
    I hope that clarifies my question.
    Thanks!
    Eric

  • How to call an URL from ABAP

    Hi,
    When an user clicks on a document display link in a SAP tranasction(for example FB02),an URL has to be called in the background(by ABAP) and the details of the URL should be displayed in a browser.
    What are the possilbe options available in SAP4.7 to meet the above requirement?
    Thanks in advance,

    hi,
    you can use call browser function
    data url(200) type c.
    url = 'your_url'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'CALL_BROWSER'
      EXPORTING
        URL                          = url

    for this you have to enable SSO on your server.
    hope this helps you, else revert back.

  • Error while calling a webservice from ABAP system

    Hi All,
    I have generated a proxy for the webservice that is there in a Java system.
    Iam getting the following error when I make a method call of that generated proxy.
    SOAP:1.026 SRT: HTTP-Code 500: ("Internal Server Error").
    Does anybody has any idea why is this happening?
    Thank You,

    Hi Sridhar,
    It is active and it was working fine. It suddendly started giving this error. Do you think if there is any possibility that there would be something wrong in the system where webservice is lying?

  • How to encrypt password in Forms10g while calling in batch mode

    We are migrating our Forms 6i batch jobs to Forms10g. There are two ways we can pass login
    information.
    1. In formsweb.cfg
    2. Pass in URL string 'userid=username/password@connectstring'
    In both cases the password is not secured. In option # 1 password is in the configuration file in plain text. In
    second option # 2, its in the URL.
    BTW, we are using HTTPS protocol while calling form in batch mode and we are not using SSO.
    Is there a way, we can use data source in frmservlet while calling form in batch mode. Like in Java, we can create data source with indirect password, the password is encrypted.
    Basically, we would like to encrypt our password, we have very strict security guidelines.
    Please let us know if there are any options, how to encrypt password in Forms 10g
    Regards,
    Gufran

    One option maybe the following :
    - Create a file holding the encrpyted username/password on the application server side (in the working directory of your oracle forms application)
    - As a parameter, pass the name of your file to the form
    - when the form is getting called, read the name file in (TEXT_IO) and use the logon built-in with the value from the password file
    How to create an encrpyted file :
    - use the obfuscation toolkit to encrypt username/password@instance into a varchar2
    - write this value to a file using oracle forms (TEXT_IO)
    FUNCTION f_encrypt_string(p_key IN VARCHAR2)
    RETURN VARCHAR2 IS v_encrypt_string VARCHAR2(2000) := 'N/A';
    l_data VARCHAR2(2000);
    BEGIN
    -- if neccessary create a text where the length of the string
    -- is diviteable by 8 (which is a requirement of dbms_obfuscation_toolkit)
    l_data := RPAD(p_key, (TRUNC(LENGTH(p_key)/8)+1)*8, CHR(0));
    DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT.DESEncrypt(input_string => l_data,
    key_string => 'MagicKey',
    encrypted_string=> v_encrypt_string);
    RETURN (v_encrypt_string);
    END;

  • How to pass username and password with the portal url

    i want to access portal from my web site. i have created username and password fields in my web page. when submited , my portal page should open. so how to pass username and password with the portal url.

    This is not straightforward; but it is doable.
    First tell us about your portal version; portal 10.1.4 has a slightly different method of doing it and the pre-10g portals were completely different animals.
    And if you are in AS Rel 2, then the most important document for you would probably be the following:
    [Creating Deployment Specific Pages| http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/idmanage.1012/b14078/custom.htm#i1015535]
    You might want to use it in conjunction with some metalink notes about your portal version and such a login page.
    hope that helps!
