How to end date or inactivate Web ADI Layouts

Hi,
I am trying to hide or suppress Web ADI layouts, help me how to go about it.
Here are the details..
In the Integrator - "General Ledger - Journals" , there are several layouts. I wanted to hide all them except two.
One option is to delete unwanted layouts, but I may need these layouts for future.
So I don't want to delete them.
Is there any provision to end date or inactivate a specific layout.
Help me.

I am afraid but it looks to me (in R12) that there is no valid date or enabled flag in the underlying table. So in default the only option would be to change the layout name to something like "** do not use **".
As an alternative you can offer a direct webadi link to the users with predefined layout name (last step in the create document wizard). In this case the user can not change it anymore.

In alert log file it is showing

How to send data from a web dypro application using workflow

I am working on a web dynpro application where the user will enter the header and item details for a FI document to be posted. Once the user enters the data the workflow should initiate and should also send the data across to the approver to approve. To initiate the workflow I am using the function module 'SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW' and it's working fine and generating a uniquw workflow item id. Now my main concern is how to send the data across from web dynpro application through the workflow. I have my data in three internal tables: 1. header table. 2. G/L table and 3. Currency table, I am capturing all this data from the web dypro screen entered by the user. Right now I have the following code in my web dypro application.

Hello,
I have created a simple form in LiveCycle designer. The form only has some check boxes, radio buttons and text fields for users to fill out. Everyone in my office is on webmail so the Email Submit button is not a smooth option for getting the xml data back to me.
I would like to use the HTTP Submit button to allow users to submit their form data back to me but I am having trouble. I would like the xml files to end up in a directory on the web server.
I set up an IIS 6 server and granted the Write right to the anonymous web user account. When I fill out the PDF form and click the HTTP Submit button it doesn't seem to work. Are there any special configuration changes I need to make to my IIS server to allow this data to be posted?
Should this plan work? Should I be able to have users use the HTTP Submit button to post their data right to my IIS web server or is there some Adobe server I need to buy for this simple form? I'd also be happy if this could work with Apache; it doesn't need to be IIS. I guess my main issue is that I don't know how to get either web werver to accept data in an HTTP post and save it as a file.
Also, I noticed that when I configure a standard button and set the Control Type to "Submit", there is an option on the Submit Tab to change the Submit As setting to "PDF". Does this mean that my users can fill out my form with Acrobat Reader and HTTP Submit the form to my web server as a PDF complete with their data? If not that's fine, I would be sufficiently happy if the users could post their XML files to the web server so I can open them in the form with Acrobat Professional.
I am lost and would appreciate any helpful feedback.

I want to have a pdf fillable form opened on a link.Once user has entered data, the user clicks a button(or some action to invoke saving). At this point I want the filled pdf file to be saved on a certain directory.
How can save a filled pdf form in pdf format on a certain directory?
Is it possible to dynamically give the final pdf a name so that it doesnt overwrite everytime it saves the file?

Is the RACN Number a column or dimension in your webi report? Is it a universe object(webi based on universe)
Also what version of BusinessObjects you are using?
If you are using XI 3.1 and you need to retrieve objects from a webi report it can be done using the ReportEngine SDKs.

I am searching for a simple example of retrieving data from a web services, but cant find.
How can i get xml data from a web service. i dont need to develop the web service it is already ready, i just need how could i fetch data from it.

Hi,
just create a skeleton for the Web Service. In JDeveloper, create a new project and then use the "NEW" context menu option.
Navigate to "Business Tier" --> Web Services and select "Web Service Proxy"
In teh following, provide the WSDL reference to create the Java proxy. This gives you accss to the WS without having to parse the XML yourself

How to exchange data between two web application (servlet)

I have two servlets: SerlvetA and ServletB, they are deployed as web appA and appB in the same web container(tomcat)
How ServletA exchange data with ServletB?
I have tried follow methods:
1) appA and appB could not share HttpSession, so I could not transfer data through session
2) I write a new sigleton java class called AppBroker, servletA get AppBroker's instance, and set some data into the it. ServletB could not get the same instance of the AppBroker, because the appA and appB use different class loader.

1. static class can not solve the problem, it is same
as my sigleton class method, as different web app use
different class loaderhmm... at least in tomcat this seems not be true since i can use static classes in one webapp that are available in another web app on the same host/servlet runner.
Maybe if you build your own classloader than the "scope" of the static class is limited to that classloader (for my understanding this shouldn't be the case since i think it depends on the instance of the jvm and not of the classloader..?!).
2. rmi and object serialization are too expensive!
I am working on how to use jndi to solve this problem.
And I think this maybe a Sevlet specification's
shortcoming: maybe a Local Method as EJB local
interface need been introduced into servlet spec.
could you suggestion other methods?none at the moment. i guess the basic methods are listed.
Maybe there's just one left, a really ugly one. Depending on what kind of data and how often you have to exchange you could think of building a file-based queue, i.e. a dir where you drop files in an read out from the other web app (maybe based on a file/directory listener). But this would only be an appropriate way to go for kind of email and messaging systems i guess...

How to implement STANDARD Picklists in Web ADIs

I have been developing, configuring and implementing Custom Web ADIs in Oracle HRMS and I have used Excel 2000 as the third party tool and were able to implenment CREATE and UPDATE type of Integrators.
Also I am able to implement 'Standalone Queries'.
Using BEN_INTERFACE_COLS_B Table I am able to implement POPLISTs which is one among the two types of LOVs supported by Web ADI.
The other type is 'STANDARD' LOVs. I was trying to implement STANDARD LOVs, by using BNE_COMPONENTS_B Table.
But I got struckup at this point on,
1. Will Oracle Web ADI support user defined Java Class components?
2. If so after developing the Java componenet, what all updations are required other than updating BNE_COMPONENETS_B Table?
(How to integrate this java component with the integrator, I knew that VAL_COMPONENT_APP_ID & VAL_COMPONENT_CODE in the
Table BEN_INTERFACE_COLS_B has to be updated but will this be enough? )
3. Where to put the Java class component file in the Unix box to be used by the Custom Web ADIs.

I tried updating bne_interface_cols_b for an existing column.
In launch Journal wizard, the 'Expense Type' or 'Segment3' has some LOV attached to it. I need to point that LOV to my custom table somehow.
I tried updating the table with the given values

the location of the two web site is geographically seprated (and diffrent domain)
Please tel me in how many ways it can be accomplished.

JDev 10.1.3: ADF - How to end-date a record

I am fairly new to ADF, but I have a question about end-dating a record. I have a table with a start and end date on a record. I have created a method that will allow the user to copy a record. I have an ADF read-only table, they select the record and click the copy button. This then displays an ADF form that allows the user to clone that record and make any changes to it. The user can enter a start date for this record. Could someone point me in the right direction or provide some documentation on how to then be able to go back and end-date the originally selected record with the start-date that the user just entered? I thought maybe I could override the doDML method in the Entity Object, but I am unsure how to find the original record that the user had selected?

0) You refer to attribute 29. This is going to get you in trouble if the attr index ever gets re-arranged. Instead you could probably do something like:
Fees001RowImpl row = (Fees001RowImpl)getCurrentRow();
...then you can refer to the row attribute accessor:
row.getX() (where X is your attribute name ... this assumes you've created the RowImpl class for the VO).
(with apologies I've had to guess at some of your class names here, so you may need to tweek the class names to match your exact code)
1) Why in endDateRecr() are you calling createRootApplicationModule()? This will create a separate transaction with the db and is probably the reason you're not seeing your record until refresh. If the client interface method is in your ViewObjectImpl you should be able to just call getApplicationModule(). Something like the following:
AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)getApplicationModule();
This should also give you the advantage that you can now refer to the Fees001ViewObject directly like this:
Fees001ViewObject vo = am.getFees001View1();
....and that'll isolate you from a name change of the view object which you've hardcoded in the findViewObject call.
2) You loop through the Fees001 VO. Instead you could use vo.getKey() to find your exact row (assuming you have the PK).
3) You set the fee attribute 2 + 3; similar to above you could cast the fee row to an instance of Fee001RowImpl then call the actual setter methods provided for each attribute, isolating you from any changes in the order index of the attributes.
4) Any reason you're explicitly committing within the model layer method? This is similar to the argument that you should never commit inside a database pl/sql package as it's not obvious to the outside caller that this is occurring. Instead leave the commit for your UI ActionListener.
Hope this helps. As I said it's a little hard to give you exact code as I don't know your object names etc, but hopefully will steer you in the right direction.

How to end date a concurrent job

I have a concurrent request that runs at 2PM daily and I need to end date the job, not only today's concurrent request, but I need to stop the job from running in the future until further notice, how can i go about doing that in 11i?
