How to Escape % in the JSP href

I have the floowing string
String temp = "<A HREF=\"BasicEmployeeInfo.jsp?
EmployeeStatus="+employeeStatus+"&LastName="+lastName+ "&SortOrde
r=EmployeeV1.Badge\">Badge</a>"
When the lastName = 'smith%', the % sign causes error for me,
how do I escape that %? Thanks in advance!
P.S. I have tried to change the lastName = 'smith\%' but still
did not work

You could try the hex equivilant which is \u0025.

  • Disabling Escape on the JSP page

    Hello,
    I wan to disable the Escape working on the JSP pages by using javascript.
    How can I do that? I wish that when a user makes an action and then presses the Escape key the form action should not halt. It should continue till form is not getting response.

  • How can i catch the jsp checking event ?

    As we know, there are three parameters which is about checking in the weblogic.xml, pageCheckSeconds,*servlet-reload-check-secs*,*resource-reload-check-secs*, but how can i catch the checking event when the webapp is active.
    The fellowing is my simple test, i deployed a webapp on a weblogic server instance, and it was actived. I wrote a simple bash shell to try to catch the event, but fail. i througnt it may be dependent on the webapp's stage mode. but i change the mode, and try again, it was fail too.

  • How to load only the jsp page even after applying template

    Hi,
    I have a webpage template with header,footer, Dynamic Menu etc. Now I assigned this .jtpl template to all my existing fases jsp files.
    The problem is when I submit a form in jsp, the entire page including template gets loaded again by which we can notice significant time for loading menus and other things.
    Is there any way to avoid this entire template loading and make only the jsp page to load? Please help
    May be this can be achieved by frames. But I dont have idea on how I can merge template with frames. If someone can provide that even would help me better.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to to display the JSP report in Application Server ? URL for displaying

    Hi Experts,
    Last week, we tried to change the memory of Response Cache and buffer Cache to increase the speed of the Excel report. But it didn’t work out.
    And from the below link, I understood we can convert the oracle 9i report to excel by converting the Oracle 9i report to JSP report.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/demonstrations/index.html
    I’ve converted the Oracle 9i report to JSP report and finding the way to display the JSP report using Application Server. I am trying to find out the REPORT URL of simple JSP report and using Reports Servlet . Right now I am trying to display the JSP report in Application Server.
    Please suggest the URL for displaying the JSP report
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
    You can directly call you .jsp file, http://<host>:<domain>:<port>/<jsp report path>?userid=<if your report requires userid>/<pwd>
    Refer to metalink documents:

    Here --> Question 4. How do I execute a JSP report?

  • How to execute again the JSP codes

    Dear Experts,
    I am having trouble to execute again the JSP codes in my abc.jsp page. The sequence of the codes are:
    [ JSP codes ]
    [ HTML codes]
    My JSP file is selecting from DB2 and display the results on the same page. The selecting is depending to the selection in the combo box and included the selection into the SQL statement.
    The problem is when I change the selection at the combo box, how can I refresh the page and fill in with the new results from database by selecting with the new keyword.

    You will have to do an onChange handler for the select box, that simply submits the form, and the action would be the current page.

  • How to configure where the jsp _pages directory is created?

    Hi,
    I am running iAS 1021 for use with Portal. We have all our jsp's
    deployed in a read only environment. When JServ tries to run the
    jsp, it attempts to create the _pages directory for the compiled
    class file but it can't do so as it is trying to create it in
    the read only area. How can I tell Jserv to create the _pages
    directory somewhere else? I have tried using the
    servlet.ojsp.initArgs=page_repository_root=<directory>
    but this has no effect.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Roger

    No, Apache _home is a sort of the base directory for
    the apache installation. According to some literature I read today, this directory should've been /usr/local/apache/bin/, but that's not where I found my apache install (cygwin, I let the installer handle all the defaults).
    Mine was under /usr/sbin/, and to be correct I was looking for the httpd.exe (cygwin specific) file.
    I'd suggest running a find / -name (file you are looking for) to locate your resources.

  • How do I find the jsp code behind an Oracle EBS page

    Hello,
    I have not worked with Oracle EBS in about 3 years and am somewhat new to JSP. I am trying to figure out how it all works and would like to go from the front end Oracle EBS screen to the source code jsp file.
    I was able to find the queries behind the screen by clicking on the about page link. I was aslo able to find plenty of jsp files in the OA_HTML directory on the server but I was not able to line any of them up with an EBS page on the front-end of Oracle apps.
    With Oracle forms it seems much simpler when I just easily get the form name from the screen (Help->About Oracle applications) and then just open up the corresponding fmb with the same name.
    How do I find this corresponding jsp file?
    Thanks

    I see what you are saying.
    The JNDI approach should work-we will try to reproduce this internally.
    I would recommend leveraging the OSGi service registry, instead of using JNDI, however. The Event Server is a modular server based on OSGi, so one should use the OSGi service registry whenever possible instead of using the jndi registry. Jndi is primarily there to support legacy code that requires Jndi.
    Any data sources that you configure are automatically registered in the OSGi service registry. When there is more than one data source they can be distinguished using their name.
    There are a couple of options.
    If you want to inject a reference to your datasource into a Spring bean, you can use an annotation, @Service, to annotate a setter method on your bean (see my previous post). The container will then inject a reference to the data source into the bean.
    You can also put the following in your spring application context file
    <osgi:reference id="myDataSource"
    interface="javax.sql.DataSource"/>
    This creates a bean proxy that references the datasource by looking up the datasource in the OSGi service registry. It works similarly to JndiObjectFactoryBean, but it uses the OSGi service registry instead of the JNDI registry. You can read more about it here
    http://www.springframework.org/osgi/specification
    (Look in section 3.3)
    Hope that helps.

  • Af:menutab/af:commandMenuItem - how can I show the JSP on the same page

    I apologize in advance if this has been asked before but I tried to search the forums with no avail.
    I have already spent a few hours searching the internet for answers but no luck. I would greatly appreciate any help.
    JDeveloper version: 10.1.3.4
    I used this guide for reference:
    http://database.in2p3.fr/doc/oracle/Oracle_Application_Server_10_Release_3/web.1013/b25947/web_complex002.htm
    Code snippet (this produces 2 menu tabs):
    <af:page title="Title 1" var="node" value="#{menuModel.model}">
      <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
        <af:commandMenuItem text="#{node.label}"  immediate="true"
            action="#{node.getOutcome}"type="#{node.type}" />
      </f:facet>
    </af:page>Where outcome points to JSPs that only display a simple text. Hello World 1 and Hello World 2 respectively.
    The issue is when I click on a Menu tab, the whole main page (with the menus and all) gets replaced with just the "Hello World xx" text. My expectation is that "Hello World xx" will only get written on the body of the page with the menus still in tact.
    I am wondering if I am missing something. Am I supposed to rewrite all the af:page (or af:panelPage) components on the outcome JSPs?
    Thanks again.

    Rrey,
    Am I supposed to rewrite all the af:page (or af:panelPage) components on the outcome JSPs?Exactly correct, yes.
    The menus take you to another page - if you want the menus to be on that page, you must put them there.
    11g offers you some additional things like Regions that might be helpful.

    You will have to create the servlet mapping in the Web.xml file

    i wish to know how faces servlet knows the jsp s view components while creaTI NG component tree at first request to input jsp which may have jsf tags.in the first phase faces servlet doesnot know input jsp with jsf tags what componnets it has. it is actually atthe response send or forward time which is the final phase when the tag ge executed and output is sent to client.i did understandin jsf life cycle in 1 st phase component tree is created at first request in 1 st phase .

    Hi,
    though a FacesContext holds the values used by a request, it doesn't mean it lives for as long as the request. The best explanation I found is from the JavaDocs
    release
    public abstract void release()
    +Release any resources associated with this FacesContext instance. Faces implementations may choose to pool instances in the associated FacesContextFactory to avoid repeated object creation and garbage collection. After release() is called on a FacesContext instance (until the FacesContext instance has been recycled by the implementation for re-use), calling any other methods will cause an IllegalStateException to be thrown.+
    The implementation must call setCurrentInstance(javax.faces.context.FacesContext) passing null to remove the association between this thread and this dead FacesContext instance.
    Throws:
    java.lang.IllegalStateException - if this method is called after this instance has been released
