  • How to execute a batch file on different remote server using TFS Build

    I have a build server and have 2 web servers. I am deploying using TFS Builds. Now, I have a requirement to execute a batch file which is kept on these 2 web servers. i.e. C:\MyBatch\CreateMe.bat
    After my build is successful, I need to execute this batch from the build server.
    Note, I cannot make any shared folder.

    Hi Sameer,
    Thanks for your post.
    What’s the version of your TFS?
    How do you deploy solution using TFS Build, run MSBuild deploy command or using Release Management?
    That C:\MyBatch\CreateMe.bat file stay on your two web server machines separately?
    If you want execute this bat file on your two web server machines separately using build process template, you need configure your web server machine as build agent, then add the InvokeProcess activity in build process template to run the bat file on build
    agent machine after build, please refer to Hari’s answer reply in this post:

  • General question: How to execute a batch input using different user name?

    Hi everyone,
    I would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to execute a batch input from source code using a differente username so the batch input is executed with different permissions.
    For example, I log on with:
    Username: A
    , but I'd like to execute a batch input using the rights and permissions of user B.
    Thanks in advance and best regards.
    Ben.

    If you are calling the BDC in a program, create a job to run the program and specify the user you want each program to run under.

    Let me guess, you want your web application to run a program on the client and to your surprise that's not working?
    Ain't gonna happen.
    its taking more time to execute .... that's y is there any other option to execute .exe file other than Runtime.getRuntime().exec("filename");Write proper English and you may be taken more seriously.
    1) it's not "taking more time to execute", whatever that's supposed to mean.
    2) there's no other way to execute something. Not that you should every use even that way anyway
    3) whenever you start thinking of executing external programs from Java, start thinking of not using Java in the first place.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro - how can I backup batch-processing scripts

    Is there a way to backup batch-processing scripts?

    Batch processes are saved locally as SEQU files, with the batch's name being the file name. You can get the path to the folder where they're located by running this code from the JS console:
    app.getPath("user", "sequences")

  • Will After Effects execute a batch process on video?

    I apologize for posting this  question in more than one forum (I also posted in the Premier forum),  I'm just not sure which forum this questoin is suppose go in.
    What I'm trying to  do is batch  process a few hundred 10-30 minute videos and cut them  up into smaller 3 minute clips. I'm not familiar with After Effects and so I'm not  entirely sure that this is an After Effects task...
    Anyhow,  the source files are primarily WMV and  MPG with some AVIs in there, and we want to export to FLV. Since you  can batch process images from bridge using photoshop actions, I was  hoping there was something similar that could be done using After Effects.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    "Look, I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but you're going about this all wrong. Since you're obviously not video savvy, you need to start at the end and work backwards."
    You are correct, I'm not a video guy. My forte is print, graphics and web layouts and I have very little profesional-level video experience. The reason for FLV files is very simple, consitancy. It was decided that we're going to use the FLV format a while back so that our flash guys could more easily incorporate them into "flash toys" later on (no, we don't know what that means yet). I don't know that the specifics within the FLV format are pertinant at this time, and I don't see what would stop us from re-encoding them later if needed.
    "That can be batched but the editing canot, that is strictly a manual operation."
    This is exaclty why I'm posting on lots of different forums trying to find a solution, because as of right now, we are manually splitting these videos up and it's a significant drain on our department resources. The new workstation is already a go (and no, it's not my money) so that's happening no matter what, now we're just trying to automate as much as posible so our guys are free to do "real" work instead of defining 3 minute clips, over, and over, and over, and over again.
    I understand what you're saying about multiple source formats causing problems, but I think you may be misunderstanding what we actually need. We already have a simple freeware ecoding program (Any Video Converter 3.0.2) that has handled every format we've thrown at it so far and batch processes them into FLVs no problem. Unfortunately it doesn't "chop" them up as well, which we need. If a freeware program has no problem doing this, I find it hard to believe the big boy apps will choke, unless they're being used incorrectly.
    "Try to relax and investigate this thoroughly." "You're going to be money ahead by hiring a consultant."
    Again, that's why I'm posting messages on forums. And thanks for the help, but I'm pretty positive we don't need to hire a consultant.

  • Batch Process Export Layers Script

    I know how to break down a layered file using the Export Layers Script, and it works pretty well for me.  What I want to know is if there is a way to create an action using this script, that I can apply to multiple files and batch process in Bridge?  I have created an action that in theory should work, but I keep getting stop errors when I actually run it.  Has anyone successfully created an action that can export out multiple layers of multiple files?

    Joyce,
    Thank you.  Your suggestion helped clear my mental log jam.
    Fireworks batch scripting seems to work in reverse.
    Using "Batch Process..." scripting interface 'Export' (as JPEG) option first, 'Rename' (add Prefix) option second, and then follow these by using the history panel's 2 previously saved steps (Numeric Transform, Fit Canvas), batch process now works.  PNG file (list) is saved in targeted folder as a reduced scale JPEG with a prefixed file name.
    Batch Process allows the entire newly defined command sequence to be saved (script.js).  Placing this (renamed) file into Firework's batch look-up directory for scripts (C:\Documents and Settings\account_name\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\Commands) does not work.  The file name does not display in "Batch Process" window "Batch options:" Commands drop-down list.
    Batch Process only works by recreating the above steps each use.
    The new (JavaScript) file is 26 KB.  Is script file size limited in Fireworks "Batch options:" feature?

  • Batch Processing when Integration script is used

    Can we set up batch processing when we are using integration scripts to connect to source tables? If yes, then what are the settings required ?
    Thanks

    You need to create an empty flat file in the Openbatch folder (assuming you are using the single period load). the format for the file name is in the admin guide. I generally add this to the batch script before the batch process section.

  • Executing a batch process

    I supose,it's possible to call a batch procedure from workflow(process flow) defined in OWB...the batcha procedure must execute on Windows OS server machine...
    If anybody already did it I'll be very greatfull for detailed example how to do it!
    Tnx, in advance
    Dejan Botica

    Hi Dejan,
    User Defined Activity is not appropriate for your task ( I thought that you told about execution operating system script).
    As I understand you want to initiate executing of OWB processflow on Unix server from OWB processflow on Windows server.
    In this case you need to create two additional PL/SQL procedures (transformation, first procedure - on Unix server, second procedure - on Windows server)
    and than insert into processflow on Windows server corresponding transformation:
    1) create transformation for Unix server and deploy it (OWBREPOS is a username of OWB repository, you need perform execution grant on WB_RT_API_EXEC to target schema)
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION RUN_PF_UNIX RETURN NUMBER IS
    PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION;
    ret_value NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    ret_value := OWBREPOS.WB_RT_API_EXEC.RUN_TASK('OWF_LOCATION', 'PROCESSFLOW', 'PF_ON_UNIX', NULL, NULL, 0, 0);
    RETURN ret_value;
    END RUN_PF_UNIX; 2) create transformation for Windows server (dbl_unix is a database link to schema on Unix server which owns RUN_PF_UNIX PL/SQL function) and deploy it
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION RUN_PF_UNIX_FROM_WIN RETURN NUMBER IS
    ret_value NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    ret_value := RUN_PF_UNIX@dbl_unix;
    RETURN ret_value;
    END RUN_PF_UNIX_FROM_WIN; 3) add RUN_PF_UNIX_FROM_WIN transformation to processflow on Windows server (enable configuration properties Use Return as Status for this tranformation in processflow)

  • How to execute external  spawned process using  java

    Hi,
    I am executing PGP from command line using java.
    For adding the public key I use Runtime object like this
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process process = rt.exec("pgp -ka "+"d:/Mangesh/pubkey/sandy.asc "+"C:/PROGRA~1/NETWOR~1/PGPNT/keyrings/pubring.pkr");PGP is executing this but inbetween it asked for confirmation "Do you want to add public key (y/n)"
    I am providing data to process this way:
    PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(new OutputStreamWriter( process.getOutputStream()));
    pw.write('y');
    pw.flush();But after this their is no execution from PGP and console remains until I closed it.
    PGP is waiting for ENTER KEY
    How can I provide ENTER KEY from java
    This is right method ??? or any other options are available??
    I am awaiting for your valuable suggestions .
    Regards
    Man479

    On Windows the "enter key" consists of two characters: carriage return and a line feed (\r\n). You may have to send both. If that doesn't work, pgp is not reading the reply through stdin, only through the console, and there's no way to pass the 'y' to it through Java.

  • How to execute  a batch file using javascript

    Hi,
    I dont know java. i have a batch file to do my task. Im designing the front end with HTML.Can anyone tell the command to execute batchfile using javascript

    Java and not JavaScript are not the same thing or even close to the same thing. You appear to be in way over your head. It might be a good time to fess up to your employer that you are underqualified.
    Apart from the JavaScript faux pas your question is also lacking because
    - you don't identify what this batch file is or does or needs to execute in
    - it is very difficult to understand how the front end for this will be HTML
    It seems you may one day want something like a Servlet. But you are long way from implementing this solution.

  • How to execute a APEX process on click of link from a email message

    I have a download procedure which will ask user wheather to save or open a file. This procedure uses standard "owa_util.mime_header","htp.p('Content-length" commands do do this. The procedure works fine. I'm sending a mail to user where this procedure is link to save or open a file. But for security reasons, I don't want to embed this procedure in the email, instead I want to redirect to APEX page. In the APEX page, I have put the procedure code in "onSubmit" process and it workd fine on clink of button. But I want to execute this process "Onload", so that user doesn't have click a button, all the user does click the link in email which will go to APEX page and ask wheather to save or open a file. any ideas are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Surya

    Hi
    Perhaps you could use an on-demand application process instead - you can specify these in the URL.
    The URL syntax (for your link) would be like...
    f?p=application_id:page_id:session:APPLICATION_PROCESS=process_idIs this what you mean?
    Cheers

  • How to manage automated batch processing with save for web?

    Hi All,
    This has been driving me insane. I am currently in PhotoshopCC and I know that several versions back I had no problems doing this but now I cannot create a generic action that I can then have save out to different folders.
    What I used to be able to do and want to do again:
    I have a project that requires me to turn a print magazine into a website quarterly. I receive the files packaged from InDesign and I want to process the images to specific sizes and then save as web optimized.
    For each article I want to be able to select the source folder and then a unique folder to save to for each article, so that optimized  images for each article remain with the article files.
    I never had an issue  doing this until a version or two back, since then I can only create an action that will save for web to whatever folder is in the action.
    I resorted to using image processing scripts and never realized I was not resampleing  the images down to 72 dpi and am having an attack of how could I be so stupid.
    If anyone can direct me to creating an action that can accomplish the save for web with the ability to control what folder my files save to I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Rose

    http://russellbrown.com/scripts.html akk you need is the Image Processor Pro.jsx and Image Processor Pro.xml  from his services install package just rename the file extension to Zip and extract its contents and copy the two files to your Photoshop's path presets\scripts\
