How to execute action on row change automatically?

Hi all,
Is it possible to trigger an action when a different row is displayed on the screen?
This is what I have
- An iteratator (materialsIter) bounded to a table containing material details
- On a jspx page, I Have a dropdown list containing the materials discription (bounded the materialsIterator) I created this list by drag/drop the view object from the data controls and drop it as an ADF Navigation List.
- I created a form displaying the details of the selected material. The form is related to the same Iterator
- I added a partial trigger on the form referencing the selectBox
So, when I select a material in the dropdown box, the corresponding details are displayed.
Now, I want to execute some code at the moment a new material is selected. How can I do this?
I was thinking to use the valueChangeListener on the dropdownbox, and find the currentent row with a DCIteratorBinding. But when doing this, I found the old row and not the new row. In other words, the valueChangeListener is executed before the iterator changes to the new row.
How can I add a method somewhere in my backingbean that is executed when an other row is selected from the dropdownlist?

I already use a valueChangeListener on this with autosubmit on true.
To give you an example of what happens.
- Suppose I have two rows in the materials table, A and B.
- In the valueChange listener on the select box I add code to print the material of the current row using the DCIteratorBinding
- If I run the program, by default, the first material (A) is selected in the box.
- If I now select material B, in the console is printed "Selected material A" immediatly after I select it. Just a moment later, the details of material B on the form are shown.
So, first it executes the ValueChangeListener and afterwards, the new current row is selected.

I don't think either of these actions is supported. You can run the individual steps offered by action processors using the AVCommand interface, but the packaging up of AVCommands into batch processes or actions is a non-automatable UI task.

How can I make background images change automatically

I want my page background to change automatically after a set period of time (almost like a very slow slideshow). Is there any reason (other than file size) I can't simply do this with an animated gif as my body background image? I haven't got the expertise to do anything too technical. Thanks

BG images are not meant to be animated. It's a performance problem - the browser would have to continually re-render the whole page, since GIFs work on specific increments. That's why it's not supported. What you wanna do would be best done with jQuery/ JavaScript or Flash, where the substitution can be controlled, so the browser only needs to work hard when there is actualyl something changing. whether that's a good idea, is another matter, though. Personally I really despise such toy-ish features, as they severely impair usability and readability.

we need to avoid lock so we want to check if there is a row in our select statement that may cause the lock.

Avoid what locking? Writers of data in Oracle does not block readers of data in Oracle.
So an +UPDATE+ or +INSERT+ or +DELETE+ does not block or lock a +SELECT+ from happening. That simple..
If you use a +SELECT FOR UPDATE+, then yes - it needs to lock rows for updating. And a writer will only be blocking another writer when both want to write (change) the very same rows. In which case it is sensible and logic that these two need to be serialised and only one at a time can change the data. Easy enough to understand without having to have pointy ears and attended the Vulcan School of Logic.

How to prevent action (lead selection change) with popup (confirmation)?

I have an application where I want the user to confirm when he selects a new line in a table. When the user selects a new line in the table an other used component reloads its data based on the new line selected. If the user has not pressed the save button before selecting a new line, any changes in the used component will be lost.
Currently I use onLeadSelect action on the table to call the load_data method(id=xxx) on the used component in order to display data relevant for id=xxx based the new line.
I can open a popup to confirm from the onLeadSelect-action or the WDDoBeforeAction, but the action still happens; it doesn't wait for the user to respond. And then any changes are lost...
I may have to store the parameters sent to the onLeadSelect method in context and continue when the button action from the pop-up returns via subscribed method, but I think this is an unelegant way of doing this.
There must be a better way...? Any ideas?

on the lead select event handler you can show the popup and no other logic. Move your logic to the ok and cancel button handlers of the pop up.

Use dbms_scheduler to run a procedure at a given time (or at repeatedly, at given times).
A trigger is good for re-acting to certain actions in the database, someone INSERTing a row in a given table, for example. Nothing will necessarily be happening when you want your procedure to run, so a trigger is not good in this case.

I am using MDM 5.5 SP6.
My Question is how to execute the steps in the workflow automatically. That means NO user interaction.
I have a simple workflow, Start- Process -- Syndicate - Stop.
When a new record added /updated/inserted this workflow will start automatically. The workflow inbox, the workflow status is u2018Receivedu2019 Step is u2018Processu2019. Now I have to right click on the record then u2018Next Stepu2019 then click on u2018Syndicateu2019 then workflow completes automatically.

If you want to do some validations and then based on result assignments on some of the fields before syndicating, then you have to use workflow. Only syndication server will not fulfill this requirement.
you may try by making validation's automatic property as "Error". This way it will not allow to add any record not fulfilling validation. You can also try using calculated fields instead of assignment.
I am not sure if you can make your workflow fully automatic, because atleast one process step is must for any workflow, and process step means user action.

Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then setup iCloud with your new ID.
You can't change the Apple ID for your iCloud account, you have to delete it.

If you want the shuffle to be always visible in Windows (outside of iTunes), you need to Enable disk use.
Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, select the Summary tab. You should see a checkbox that says Enable disk use. Check it and click Apply.
NOTE: If disk use is enabled, you have to Eject the shuffle in iTunes, BEFORE you physically disconnect it. If disk use is NOT enabled, you can disconnect the shuffle at any time, as long as iTunes is not doing something with it at that moment (such as syncing); the shuffle's light will then be blinking (to indicate DO NOT DISCONNECT).
So, unless you want to use the shuffle like a USB flash drive (carry random files on it), you may want to NOT Enable disk use.

Dynamic Action on change automatically submit

I have a tabular form (manually handled) with a text item that can be changed (Apex 4.0.2.00.07).
Each time the user changes the value of the text item, the changes automatically will be submitted.
Therefore I defined a dynamic action:
event:onchange
selection type: region
with javascriptcode: apex.submit({request:'SAVE'});
When I leave changed text item with tab-key everything works fine.
But when I leave changed text item through a button Click only the submit of dynamic action is performed and the button functionality is ignored.
The button click initiates the onchange event at the changed text item and then ignores everything after this event.
The enduser will not be able to understand the behavior of the application.
I have less experience in Java and JavaScript.
Is it possible to get the information if and which button was clicked, so I can decide at javascriptcode of the dynamic action what is to do?

This script combined with script to detect changes makes apex page running very slowIf you use that PLSQL code(assuming it works as expected) , then its going to take a server request every-time you change a field in the tabular form and loop though all the array values(if they would be submitted before) and recalculate and compare the checksums . Isn't that going to be very inefficient.
As for that JS code, it only runs at the client side. You can do all the server side checks on submit, when the user expects some delay due to processing.

I'm sorry to be so vague. I have recently found out that what I want
to do is put my images in a javascript image rotator. I have looked
this up on google and have now tried about 6 different codes. I try to
follow the insert directions but I must be doing something wrong. I
get the first photo linked up but can never make the picture change to
show the other two photos in the image folder.

I find some messages every day which have status 'scheduled' for a long time - more then several hours. These messages use http adapter. When http server is not working, the messages scheduled, but not executed after http server become working. How to execute the messages automatically?

Maybe you could store the value of that field in a string variable using a cursor, i expect you dont need to execute this query very often, because using cursor is not always the best option in data sets.

I have the same issue. I live in Arizona and we also don't do that stupid daylight savings. When I put it to auto it says Denver. Location should pick up Phoenix. Needs to get fixed because I have to manually set it every time I travel now until DST is over.
