Btw. Why do you need to do it. You do know that you can add jars to the classpath and read resources from them without extracting the file?

you can open your jar archive with WinZip or WinRar, and just delete the old file and put in new one. All the signing will be destroyed thou. So if you want your JAR to still be signed, you want to build your JAR with the correct file already in place.
Also you know that .java file is source code and not executable like .class file? You prbl want to replace class files not java files.

How to create a jar having the contents of the jar in a byte array?

I have a server and client application. My server returns the contents of the jar in the form of byte array to the client on a particluar method call. Now at the client end, i want to reconstruct the jar to be used. How do I do this?
The server uses the JarInputStream to read the contents of the jar to be returned. I have tried using the JarOutputStream, but looks like this works fine if we have spearate class files to be added to the jar. Now that I have the contents of the jar itself, how do i recreate the jar?
Can anyone please help me with this?

I download a jar via InputStream and save into a jar file via fileoutputstream. It always gets corrupted in the process. The new Jar file has the exact same number of bytes, but doesn't get past the Manifest on a -tvf. In fact, Winzip can open it fine, but can't extract. So close...yet so far.
Here is a snapshot of my code:

For Example: There is one pdf file. Let us say xxx.pdf with 32 pages. I am interested in only in a topic present at 10th page. Can I extract this information and save it into another pdf file (means new pdf file)?

I am actually interested in extract the page and create a new PDF with that page. But still there is a catch that on which basis the page needs to extract either on PAGE number OR on Bookmark basis.
But here in this scenario assume I am looking for the PDF file, now I want to save only page 5. How can I extract page 5 automatically/programmatuically? Or in simple word how can I get the reference link of page 5?
Here I am not getting clear picture that Do I need both SDK Adobe & Acrobat to achieve this requirement. And more over you have mentioned that SDK itself is free. But on Adobe side it is mentioned that it is available by license only with this I have another doubt: To work my desktop/system application with Adobe PDF library, this library needs to distribute with the application. So in this case will it be chargeable for each and every deployment.

The jar utility allows you to extract files as well as put them into a jar. This is in the java docs.
You might have to hand modify the manifest file if it was hand modified in the first place. All you should have to do is copy the text from one file to another. The manifest will have the same name so you will have to extract to different dirs so it isn't overwritten.
Steps:
-Create dir1 and dir2
-Extract jar1 into dir1, Extract jar2 into dir2.
-Manually examine manifests and combine if needed.
-Copy files from one dir to another.
-Use jar tool to create new jar.

I have tried everything but still cannot see my content(artwork and Text) of my original PDF after importing it into LiveCycle. All I see are is a blank page with the formatting and layout of where my artwork and text should be. I like to see everything if possible so after I make my change I will know how it will look when I save it back into the PDF and open it in Acrobat Reader.
