How to fill in a PDF file via data import

I have a situation where we need a PDF form filled out, but we cannot let the end user enter data directly into the form. We could enter it manually, but that isn't practical. I'm looking for a way that we can have the user complete an HTML form and then import that data into the PDF file placing the data into the appropriate fields.
Is this possible and if so, I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Thanks.

What is your web server operating system environment? Windows or Linux?
Are you familiar with any programming languages? If so, which one are you most fluent in?
Do you have networking skills?
You will need to create a server-side script that pulls a record and creates PDF form data, such as FDF, XFDF, XDP.
For a windows .net approach, check out iTextSharp, or FDFToolkit.net by NK-Inc.com, or OCX (ADMIN/Server installation required) try FDF Toolkit by Adobe.
For a linux/JAVA approach check out iText.
For more information:
Google: "populate pdf"
Google: "create FDF XDP XFDF"

  • How can I send a PDF file via my yahoo or google email programs?

    I just downloaded some photos from a friend's camera, & I want to send copies via email. Do I need to create a different kind of file for the pix, or do I just need to send one at a time?

    Steven,
    Illy just sees a bunch of pixels as do the rest of us.
    You may use Image/Live Trace with suitable settings, expand, and let her work with the resulting vector artwork.
    Or you may draw a (set of path(s) round the part(s) you want to keep (turning htem into a compound path in case of multiple paths, then select everything and Object>Clipping Mask>Make. That will only hide the outlying parts (unless you do the destructive deed), and you only have limited ways of (further) editing.
    Or you may work in Photoshop or similar.

  • How to send a pdf file via http call

    Hi Experts,
    Please try to think on how you would send a file like a pdf file via the http call. You might need to convert the pdf in a character string which can be sent via http. The character string then might need to  get converted back into a pdf and saved in a file. Read through the Archive Link API guide to see how they send the body of a file.
    Please it is urgent......
    Thanks
    Basu

    so you want to push the PDF file over http to external system.
    where is pdf file stored.
    for examle if its in the clients desktop, you can use gui_upload to upload to internal tabble (type BIN) then use FM SCMS_BINARY_TO_XSTRING to conver the binary table to type string.
    then use cl_http_client class to push the file to the destination.

  • How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

    How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

    You will need an app (or apps) on your iPad that is capable of reading the documents, as they will be saved with the app - if you don't have such an app then there is nothing to transfer them to or to read/access them.
    One method of transferring them is toconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, select it's app tab, and then scroll to the bottom of it - you should the apps That you've got that are capable of file-sharing (if you've got any).  Selecting/high-lighting one of them should then allow you to add files to it via the box to the right of it.
    An alternative way to get the documents onto your iPad is if the app that you want to transfer them to has a wifi setting, which will then allow you to transfer the documents wirelessly. You can also send the documents to yourself as attachments and then use Mail's 'open in' facility to copy them into your chosen app.
    Edit : more info on file sharing from the manual :
    File Sharing lets you transfer files between iPad and your computer. You can share files created with a compatible app and saved in a supported format.
    Apps that support file sharing appear in the File Sharing Apps list in iTunes. For each app, the Files list shows the documents that are on iPad. See the app’s documentation for how it shares files; not all apps support this feature.
    Connect iPad to your computer.
    In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
    In the File Sharing section, select an app from the list on the left.
    On the right, select the file you want to transfer, then click “Save to” and choose a destination on your computer.
    Transfer a file from your computer to iPad:
    Connect iPad to your computer.
    In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
    In the File Sharing section, click Add.
    Select a file, then click Choose (Mac) or OK (PC).
    The file is transferred to your device and can be opened using an app that supports that file type. To transfer more than one file, select each additional file.
    Delete a file from iPad: Select the file in the Files list, then tap Delete.

    How can i reduce the pdf file size? I need to send via email, at the moment its at 10mb

    Reducing PDF file size or Optimizing PDF is the feature that is supported only by Acrobat Pro (desktop app that is not free).
    Optimizing PDFs (Acrobat Pro)
    Free Adobe Reader products (Reader XI desktop, Reader for iOS, Reader for Android, Reader Touch for Windows 8, etc) do not offer the capability.

  • Send spool list ceated by Job (SM36) as pdf-file via email

    We are running the report RM06EFLB (Transaktion ME84 - "Create Releases") in the background.
    The Job is creating a spool list with 17 pages.
    I want to send this 17 pages (in a readable form) to a number of persons.
    This did I try so far:
    - Distribution list with Recipient type "via Internet" as Spool list recipients in the Job. (Tried different formats for ABAP List in Transaction SCOT)
    => Email is send to recipients, attachment is readable depending on format.
         Problem: attachment is not complete, it contains only about 15 pages (985 rows).
    - Distribution list with Recipient type "Internal User - SAP-Office" as Spool list recipients in the Job.
    => Document is sent to Business Workplace
         Problem:  attachment is not complete, it contains only about 15 pages
    Any ideas how to get the complete spool list?
    Is there mayby a report around  that is sending a spool list as pdf-file via email to a number of recipients?
    (Would like to maintain this Report as an additional step in the job. The spool-number should be selected from the previous step.)
    Thank you for your help.
    Jens

    Oh sorry - here is the coding which is used in that program:
    First use function module  'CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF' to convert the spool entry into pdf.
    Loop at output table PDF and concatenate all lines into a string. Convert string to xstring.
    Then call mail class:
    DATA: lv_pdf_x TYPE xstring,
            lv_subject TYPE string,
            lv_doc_desc TYPE so_obj_des,
            lv_mail_body TYPE soli_tab.
      DATA: ls_atta TYPE rcf_s_att4mail_hex,
            lt_atta TYPE rcf_t_att4mail_hex.
    * -- Fill parameter
      lv_subject = 'Requested Report'."#EC NOTEXT
      lv_doc_desc = 'Report XXL'."#EC NOTEXT
    *  lv_mail_body = ?
      ls_atta-name = lv_doc_desc.
      ls_atta-extension = 'PDF'.
      ls_atta-content = p_pdf_x. <- This is your xstring
      APPEND ls_atta TO lt_atta.
      TRY.
          CALL METHOD cl_hrrcf_services_mail=>send_web_mail
            EXPORTING
              p_subject              = lv_subject
              p_receiver             = p_receiver->email_address
              pt_atta_hex            = lt_atta
              p_sender               = p_sender->email_address
              p_body_c               = lv_mail_body.
        CATCH cx_hrrcf.
      ENDTRY.
    I hope that you have the above mentioned class in your system but it should work with other email functions as well.
    Regards
    Nicola

    How can I combine different pdf files in one?
    created by Sara.Forsberg in Adobe PDF Pack - View the full discussion
    Hi Flávia,
    Adobe PDF Pack is an online subscription--it definitely allows you to combine several files into one PDF file. For more information about PDF Pack, see Reliably Create PDFs, Convert PDFs, & Merge PDFs Online | Adobe PDF Pack. If you don't have the full version of Acrobat, this is a great solution for combining PDF files.
    However, if you're using Acrobat (not Adobe Reader), you combine files by following these steps:
    Open a PDF file that you want to add pages to.
    Click the Pages pane on the Tools panel (on the right side of the application).
    Click Insert From File, and choose the file that you want to combine with the PDF that you opened in step 1.
    Make any changes necessary in the Insert Pages dialog box--these settings determine where the new file will be inserted.
    Click OK.
    Please let me know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files?

    How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files? I need to look at several thousand PDF files. It takes too long to open each one individually. The only thing I could think of is combining them into large groups and then using the Navigation index. But I like the way windows Picture and Fax Viewer does it because you can keep the files separate. Combining PDFs causes loss of individual file names. That would be a problem since I do need to have the individual file names.

    Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a DLL and is started via a rundll32.exe call and can't be set as an application to handle images in Firefox 3 and later versions.
    Try to set Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Windows, then it should be listed automatically in the Mozilla Firefox Browse dialog.

  • Why can't I send a fill in application (PDF file)?

    I can't send a fill in application (PDF file) in Adobe Reader from my Mac (version 11.0.04), but it works fine from my PC (version 11.0.05). Why?
    I get this massage (danish):
    "Der opstod en fejl under afsendelsen: Indhold af typen text/html; charset=utf-8 kan ikke behandles."
    How do I get it to work?

    It doesn't go through my emil. The PDF file just connects to the internet and "sends" is.
    On the picture, you can se the button I press (underneath the message box), and in the corner you can see it trying to send the data.

    How can I prevent a PDF file from being copied, printed or downloaded? Students should only be able to view the text and and not distribute it in any way.

    You can prevent it from being printed by applying a security policy to it
    in Acrobat. The rest can't be prevented, unless you spend  a LOT of money

  • How do I combine already pdf files in pack?

    How do I combine 2 pdf files in adobe pack?

    So, if you have a PDF pack account, make sure to log in.
    Online, you would go to https://cloud.acrobat.com/combinepdf, by clicking on the "Combine Files" tab.
    Next, click the large blue button that says, "Select Files to Combine."
    Wait for the shadow-box window to appear, and select the PDF files you want to combine, either by selecting them in your computer's filesystem, from the pop-up window, or by dragging the files into the shadow-box.
    Alternatively, you may switch to Acrobat.com files, and upload any files that you have stored there.
    Click on the blue button stating continue.
    Enter a name in the box with light gray text stating "Enter combined PDF file name"
    When done, press combine.
    You should see a light grey status box in the top right stating the status of the combining, and when finished, you will see the file appear in the section toward the bottom half of your browser stating "Combined Files" - it should be the document to the furthest left-side. (If your lucky, it is already there.)
    Hopefully, this will help you!
