How to Fill list in excel based on another columns cell value

Hello,
I am facing issue while binding data to list i want to bind list or filter list based on another columns cell value

If your list is a series of rows with column headers like the following:
Column A
Column B
1
Apple
1
Banana
1
Orange
2
Pineapple
2
Cucumber
2
Watermelon
Then you can do this will Excel's built in filter functions. If you select the entire data table and then go to "DATA" then click the "FILTER" button a drop down will appear next to both headers (Column A and Column B in this case). You
can then select the data you would like filtered from either column and Excel will hide that entire row.

Here's an example, using the provided data:
I've set the alignment on Main to Automatic (except for row 1) to distinguish between numeric and quasi numeric values (aligned right) and text (aligned left). This is a visual aid to developing the table, and would likely be changed for appearance in the end version.
Columns E, F and G of Main are index columns listing the RANK of numeric/date and time values in columns A, B and C respectively. Text values cause RANK to throw an error, which is caught by IFERROR, which returns a value of 999, chosen to be well above any of the RANK values returned. A small amount ( ROW()/100000 ) is added to each result to prevent duplicate results is cases like column D, where duplicate times appear.
Formula: Main::E2: =IFERROR(RANK(B2,B,1),999)+ROW()/100000
Fill down the column, and right to column G.
These columns may be hidden.
The three daily columns use a single formula each, revised to match the index columns from which they determine the row containing each piece of data to be copied, and to match the columns from which they retrieve that data. The formulas from row 2 of these tables are listed here in the order (left to right) that they are used in the second row of tables above. Parts that are edited from one formula to another are shown in bold.

How to set column value to blank based on another column's condition in validation settings in sharepoint 2010?

I need to set a field to be blank when another field is blank:
when [Return Date] is blank [when item has not been returned]
[Received by] should be set to blank
I tried this:
=IF(ISBLANK([Return Date]),ISBLANK([Received by]),TRUE)
But it failed.
Is this possible through list validation settings?

Radio group in classic report based on another column on the same row.

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
Application Express 4.1.0.00.32
How can I have a radio group column based on an LOV utilizing another column on the same row of the report?
For example: what if I had a survey application and depending on the likert scale that was assigned to the question there would be different possible answer choices:
Question 1 on row 1 of the report: The class instructor was friendly?
Likert scale choice is Agreement.
Choices on Radio Group: Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Strongly Disagree
Question 2 on row 2 of the report: The class offered good materials?
Likert scale choice is Quality.
Choices on Radio Group: Excellent, Below Average, Average, Above Average, Excellent
The radio group can change per row depending on the Likert scale assigned to the question which is assigned to a different column on the row.
Can LOV utilize the column? :

Filter column based on another column - OBIEE 11g

Hi, I have kind of a strange requirement. I'm trying to build a dashboard that lets a user see data for the current day, last week, last month, or last year. I'm going to create a presentation variable called "date_range" where the user can choose one of those 4 options.
Based on this, I've defined a column in answers with the following formula:

Based on the 4 presentation variable, this should give the proper "start date" of when to pull data.
Now I've added the actual date column from the date dimension. But I need to put a filter on the date dimension date column that says it's greater than or equal to the calculated column above. How do I do that?

I always expect what you're expecting, but you can't filter a column on another column. The solution is just to write one formula that returns a literal, so it will be
case when (your date column) >= (your long formula) then 'Y' else 'N' end
Then filter that column on 'Y'.

Count Distinct based on another column in the same table

Hello,
My question in short: is is it possible to add a new column to a view which holds the DISTINCT COUNTS of values/domains of another column in the same view?
For example, in the below table the column "Distinct Count of Occurence" shows how many distinct values a person has in the Occurence column. So AAA has 1 and 2 therefore it is 2 distinct values etc.
My issues is that I can retrieve unique values bu Count (Select Occurence)but I can not add the new column that would add the records to the corresponding Persons in the above table.
Is there an easy way to achieve this on the DWH level or should it be done with MDX in the cube?

Je suis face à un problème insoluble.
Je n'arrive plus à écrire dans une cellule excel.
J'ai développé mon programme sous labview 2009 et fait des tests sur deux pc différents.
Sur un, l'écriture cellule fonctionne sur l'autre j'ai toujours l'erreur -2147352567 dans Set Cell Value.vi.
J'ai changé de pc et je suis passé de XP à Seven, installé labview 2009, mon programme bloque toujours sur le vi Set Cell Value.
Comment puis je solutionner mon problème? recompiler le programme?

Le problème vient des modes de compatibilités d'excel entre 2003 et 2007-2010.
Vous ne pouvez pas gérer des fichiers en .xls ou .xlsx sur la même application.
Cela peu fonctionner un temps mais cela ne dure pas.
La solution ensuite est de convertir tous vos fichiers en extension .xlsx et tout rentre dans l'ordre.
Tout ceci est la joie d'excel et des logiciels à licence.

How do I select a control based on another control's selection and how do I remove enumerations from a control?

Hi everyone,
I have a question and I *think* the answer may be the new active controls, so here goes: I have a control which contains a variety of enumerated items - essentially a typedef enum. I may have up to several dozen items in this control, like this:
Position - 1
Current - 2
Pressure - 3
Temperature - 4
Duty Cycle - 5, etc.
I also have a 2nd control (actually a set of controls) that refer to the indices of the above control. For example, if I "Position" chosen, I wish the 2nd control to appear that refers to position - an enumeration with "X axis, Y axis, etc." If I select "Temperature", I wish the 2nd control to appear that refers to temperature - a different typedef'd enum - "Inlet, Outlet, Air, Water, etc."
How do I do this?
Lastly, the first enum with ALL of the items, pressure, current, etc. does not need to be used. For certain configurations, I wish to eliminate, say the 1st and 3rd item - I don't wish to just gray them out, I wish to remove them from the enumeration, WITHOUT changing their enumerated value. Perhaps I need to write the resultant enum into a temporary ring enum - any ideas?

Unfortunately, you cannot edit the list of enums during runtime, only during edit mode. You can use a ring control however. Then you can use the Strings[] property to set the selections to whatever you want depending upon the 1st enum. See attached vi.

How to apply the filter condition based on other column

i have one requirement.
i am giving the example below.my 2 columns data like below

A 1
B 2
C 3
D 4
E 5
F 6
G 7
H 8
i want to give Column1 as a dashboard prompt and users will enter A,B,...(what are all in the column1).
what i want is, in the dashboard prompt i want less that value passes in the dashboard prompt.
Ex: if i enter the D in the dashboard prompt, i want to display less that corresponding value to the D in the column 2.
in this case it should return, A,B,C from column A.
PLease suggest me how can i achieve this.

Hi user,
Here is the solution.
1.Create a dashboard prompt and Put columnA and assgn it to a presentation variable say 'VAR_1'.
2.Now create one more dashboard prompt select SQL result in choice list .and enter logical sql like
SELECT columnA
FROM tab_name where
columnB < (
SELECT columnB
FROM tab_name
WHERE columnA= 'VAR_1')
3. put both in a dashboard and check whether the logic is working if you select D in first dashboard prompt and apply, you should get only A,B,C option in the second prompt.
4. Edit your main dashboard . put Dasgboard prompt1 in one section save.
5. Inside Edit dashboard only click on Dashboard Property (nest to preview button), you can see all the pages.
6. now select your page and click on 'select prompt...' (prompt symbol next to Rename) . Browse your second prompt and click ok,ok.
7. save the dashboard. Now it should work.

I'm using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.
I have an adf table with 2 columns, columnA and columnB.
When the value changed in ColumnA,
1) i need to call a PLSQL and update the ColumnB value that is returned from PLSQL.
2) Show a warning message if the existing value in ColumnB is different from the one that is returned from PLSQL.
Can anybody suggest how can i accomplish this?

if you have inputtext means have a valuechangelistener
in that call your pl/sql function supply input value to the appropriate function then grab the result of the function. then bind the column inputtext and compare with it. then raise your warning using FacesMessage classes.

Is there any way we can get the unique value using Java ?

May be not what you are looking for, but here's may idea:
use a sequence (db sequence) and add it the the string value. This way the value is unique, because the sequence is unique. So you could omit the string theoretically, but your requirement is met.
It's very easy to get a unique sequence number from the db using java, depending of the technology you use (which you did not say :-( )

In version 6i forms, I have a field in data block which is not set as a database item. I am using that field to store a value from detail block. If I want to query the form using that field (which represents one of the values from detail block), how do I do that? Any pointers?

Do you want to query a master, which contains a specific detail? If so, here's an example how you could do it with a PRE-QUERY-trigger:

How to fill a field with after changing another field in a multi form?

I have multi occurence form in which multiple record are showeds and/or added.
One field is a dropdown field, after filling this field (selecting a value in the dropdown), another field needs to filled with the selected value.
My problem is that only the first occurence is filled with the value of the selected dropdown, even when filling the dropdown field in one of the other occurences.
I tried point to the other occurences but this was not succesfull

So when a sparepart is selected from the dropdown sparepart, the field defectpart must be filled the selected sparepart, when I have multi forms (occurences) only the first occurence defect part gets filled with the selected parts, even when a sparepart from another occurence is selected.
