How to find group wise total in crystal report?

Dear All,
                   I have to find the total of a Quantity value based on the Item code.How to achieve that in Crystal report.
Scenario:
Itemcode   orderno     Qty
A               1             100
A               2               20
A               3               30
B               1                10
B               2                20
Now i have to find the group total based on the Item code: Like A:150    and B:30 which should come like mentioned below
A                   Total     150
A               1               100
A               2                 20
A               3                 30
B                    Total      30
B               1                 10
B               2                 20
Can anybody pls tell me how to solve this?

hi,
you must use "w_fieldcat-do_sum = 'X'" and change your layout like :
w_sort-fieldname = 'FIELD'.
w_sort-tabname   = 'TABNEME'.
w_sort-up        = 'X'.
w_sort-subtot    = 'X'.
APPEND w_sort TO i_sort.
CLEAR w_sort.

How to change Group Header Font in Crystal report Left Most Group Tree?

Hi Dears!
I am using crystal report 10 with C# 2005. I have an issue that i want to change the font of Group Header Text that is visible when we click on Toggle Group Tree button and a tree pane is visible towards the left side of report viewer.Means all the Group Tree Items that are visible when we click Toggle Group Tree button on Crystal report Viewer.
I have goggled a lot but unable to find any hint. Any idea or help would be highly appreciated .

look for information on drilldowngrouplevel function. this is available in versions 9 and higher.
i cant test it in mine to give you the syntax, but you would need to create another section and conditionally surpress the section on the drilldowngrouplevel function. hope this helps

If we are talking standard emp and dept tables ala scott schema then (say); -
select ename, sal, total_dept_salary
from emp,
(select sum(sal) as Total_Dept_Salary,
deptno
from empt
group by
deptno) saldept
where emp.deptno = saldept.deptno
Is that what you were after?? (I would advise against correlated sub-queries on all but the most modest of tables)
There are nicer ways of doing the subquery depending on which version of the db you are on...

Thanks for the prompt reply.
In one of our report, we are supposed to perform group by for 14 columns to get sum of 3 columns and there by displaying 17 columns in the report.
When we tried in crystal reports to implement this oracle group by functionality:
1. We created 14 groups from the Insert->Group option.
2. By performing this, we got 14 group sections vertically(one inside the other).
3. Then we created the sum(15th column),sum(16th column), sum(17th column) by Insert->Summary option.
4. We suppresed all the group sections except for the last group.
5. Then, dragged all the groups to the last group section along with the summary fields.
This is how, we tried to acheive the oracle group by function in Crystal reports.
Please advise, whether our approach is right. If not, please suggest the appropriate approach with a bit detailed explanation.

If u need to find, what all the transcations will be Executed for the particluar user means.. Goto Tcode SUIM.
In that Expand the TRANSACTIONS TREE.
And execute the .. EXECUTABLE FOR USER.
And give the user name..
Now u may able to know what transactions will be executed for the particular user.

Hi,
In your report footer, set it to create a new page before it is printed (In 'Section Expert', select the Report Footer -> 'Paging' tab -> Check 'New Page Before' checkbox). Throw your Terms & Conditions into the Report Footer section.
If you already have a Report Footer that you want to keep, just split the footer into two sections (Right-click the Report Footer section -> 'Insert Section Below') and follow the same procedure for the newly created section.

Create a Group on 'Purchase order'.
Group Expert -> Select the Purchase Order and Click the arrow button such that it appears right side. Click ok.
GH1 is inserted.
Your detail section should include 'Line items' fields.
Right Click 'Detail' section on left hand side, Click 'Hide (Drill down Ok)'.
Now you will see only 'Purchase order's in Group Headers.
Now when you click on a particular order, you will see respective line items.

How to map ECC Infoset Query to Crystal Report

Hi All,
I am using 25 standard SAP crystal reports which have been mapped on the top of ECC system. Some of reports are working well but some are not working due to unable to find query. The name of the report is Controlling Dashboard report and it has CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 query which I was unable to map on ECC using Crystal Report. I do not knw how to map ECC table infoset to Crystal report.
Can anybody assist me to get solution?

I am experiencing the same issue:
unable to get this infoset query CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 in Crystal Report which is made on the top of ECC
I followed the BI quick guide as well, I am on EPH 4 and I am able to see both the Query Infoset CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 and its related Infoset /SREP/CO_OM_CCA_20.
But unfortunately, it wouldn't let me update the connection approprietaly.
Is this something you can assist me with?

HI Srivatsa,
You can make a wider report by creating virtual pages. Virtual pages are the extra pages to the right of the main page that get created to accommodate cross-tabs that are wider than a single page. By inserting a cross-tab in a report then suppressing it, you can create a report that is multiple pages wide.
Insert and Suppress a Cross-Tab
1. On the 'Insert' menu, click 'Cross-Tab'.
2. In the Cross-Tab Expert, click any field and move it into the 'Columns' box, and click any field and move it into the 'Summarized Fields' box. Do not move any fields into the 'Rows' box.
3. Click the 'Customize Style' tab and select the following check boxes:
" Suppress Empty Rows
" Suppress Empty Columns
" Suppress Row Grand Totals
" Suppress Column Grand Totals
4. Click the 'OK' button and then insert the cross-tab into the Report Header section.
5. On the 'Report' menu, click 'Format Sections'. Click 'Report Header' and select the 'Underlay Following Sections' check box.
When you run the report you will not see the cross-tab, but you will be able to scroll to the right and see multiple virtual pages.

" As there are no rows to the Cross-Tab, it does not carry on to Page 2 and the virtual pages do not appear past the first page.
" To increase or decrease the number of virtual pages do one of the following:
- Limit the number of records for the field in the 'Column' box of the 'Cross-Tab Expert' using the 'Select Expert'.
- Change the width of the 'Column' field in the Cross-Tab by moving the edges of the field.

How to Insert Fields on Virtual Pages
You cannot drag-and-drop a field onto a virtual page, you can only do so on the main page. To get a field to appear on a virtual page:
1. Insert the field on the main page.
2. Click the 'Preview' tab.
3. Drag the right edge of the field to the right, onto the virtual page.
4. Drag the left edge of the field to the right, onto the virtual page.

How to suppress a blank section in crystal report

how to suppress a blank section in crystal report. although i have set the property
"suppress blank section "=true ,still i m unable to suppress my section
please help me to cope up this issue.

One recommendation I make, when troubleshooting suppression issues, is to put a visible border of the section, area or object to be suppressed, and borders for all objects contained in the section or area. This will help isolate what's suppressed, and whether the section is truly blank or has content that's blank.
Furthermore, I recommend indicating which SDK and what version you're using when posting.
