How to find the maximum value among four fields in a single record

Hi Gems...
I have a record in which there are 4 currency fields.
Now i would like to know the maximum of these 4 fields.
I tried with Max functions in which i put all the 4 values...but it is showing error like ") is missing" though it is there.
Can we insert more than 2 values in Max function?
Or else is there any other option to find the max value among the 4 values which lies in a single record

Say suppose i have a single record in which 4 premiums of a particular bond exists.
for eg:
Prem1 Prem2 Prem3 Prem4
129000.00 388000.00 228000.00 14800.00
Now this is a single record for a particular bond ... now i need to calculate the max value among these 4 premiums.
How would we proceed to achieve this?

In a general sense, since I'm not sure what your data values are or how far away your calculated center is from the true value, I would do it one of two ways:
1) Use a threshold value and scan the array until the threshold is reached (assumes constantly increasing values in the array).
2) Use either a) round to nearest integer b) round to + Infinity (round up) or c) round to - infinity (round down). If you don't have decimal values, you'll have to devide the values by a power of 10.

select * from v$resource_limit;Lists about 20 different resources with current, maximum and limit on usage. Session count is one of them. I don't think there's any (simple, efficient) way to determine the maximum number of different users of sessions, though.

How to find the FND_PROFILE.VALUE('ORG_ID') from dual in custom schema......
Actually I have integrated Apex 4.2 version with EBS r12
select FND_PROFILE.VALUE('ORG_ID') from dual ; in apps schema I m getting 198 value
but the same query(select apps.FND_PROFILE.VALUE('ORG_ID') from dual ) in custom schema (XXCVBB) returning null value..
Is there any pre steps I have to do...
kindly provide the useful inputs to retrieve the profile value..........

Hi,
fnd_profile.value('ORG_ID'); will fetch you value only if there is a organization assigned to any application [or only if its a single Org], being it custom application you should have used set policy context or mo_global.init to populate the global temporary table which will hold all the Org's which that specific user has access too.
in your custom code use MO_GLOBAL.SET_POLICY_CONTEXT('S','ORG ID WHICH YOU NEED TO SET');
after setting the policy context, you should be able to see value from fnd_profile.value('ORG_ID');

p_access_mode
Pass a value "S" in case you want your current session to work against Single ORG_ID
Pass a value of "M" in case you want your current session to work against multiple ORG_ID's

Purpose of mo_global.init :-
It will check if new Multi Org Security Profile is set, to decide if new Security Profile method will be used.
If the new MO security profile is set, then mo_global.init inserts one record, for each Organization in Org Hierarchy, in table mo_glob_org_access_tmp

How to find the RGB Values of a Color for Hyperion

When customizing your Hyperion forms, we come across situations where we need the exact RGB value of a given color. This article explains a simple technique to find the RGB values using MS Paint and the Calculator applications that come as standard applications with your operating system.
Here are the steps to find the exact RGB value of a given color.
1) View your Hyperion form using IE, scroll down until you see the color you want to find the RGB value and press the "Print Screen" button (in your keyboard).
2) Open MS Paint and click Edit -> Paste or simply Ctrl+V. What you saw in the browser will be copied as a new untitled image.
3) Select the Color Picker tool and click on an area that has the color you want to match.
4) Now go to Edit Colors... option and click on the "Define Custom Colors >>" button. The color you picked will be selected on this palette. At the bottom right hand corner you will see the Red, Green and Blue values you need. Note down the R,G,B values (given in decimal).
5) Now we need to find out the hexa-decimal values that correspond to those decimal values. This is where we use the simple Calculator. Open the Calculator application from Program -> Accessories. Switch to the scientific mode by clicking View ->Scientific.
6) By default it will be in the decimal number mode. Enter the R value (238 in this example) and click on the Hex radio button. The corresponding hexa-decimal value (EE in this case) will be shown in the dial.
The selected color in this case has the same value for R, G and B. (In fact, all shades of gray has the same values for R, G and B.) Therefore, the RGB value of the background color that we need is #eeeeee. Repeat step 6 to find out the hex value for the Green and Blue elements, if they are different.
Tip:
If you find it difficult to pick a color, zoom the image by pressing Ctrl+PageDown or using View -> Zoom -> Custom... option.

These tips are to find the RGB color of HFM default row where row is text and text lines in data columns are also visible to business users as Yellow as an input cell. By applying the same RGB color you can apply the same color to your data cells or rows. This post shows how to identify color from any web view-able object.

First of all i am sory that iam posting this question in forms instead of Reports....i had posted it in reports but no one reply and i need uirgent solution so I post here....
My problem is that in Report I have calculated some values in CP column......Like

Know i want to ask that how can I get the last value that will be return the by this column????and also the maximum value that it will return

You mast build Summary column out of the query and select maximum to your maximum value of CP in Report level (or last for last value).

I want to find the previous value of a non-DB item in a form.
I tried creating a text item and populating it using PRE-TEXT-ITEM but that does not work.
WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM does not work either because WVI fires only after item value has changed.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

How to fetch the maximum values of 2 columns

Hi All,
I need to fetch the maximum value of 2 columns. For example I need to fetch the latest record for which i have to fetch the latest date and time. Date and time fields are 2 different columns. As of now am doing it the crude fetching the latest date records and then fetching the latest time record.
Is there any other smarter way to do it. The one am doing rite now is turning out to be very performance intensive at the moment for me. Also I could not apply max condition for two fields together.
Please guide.

Thanks for your response. But the problem am facing with this approach is I have to do this for n number of records in another internal table which is making it to cumbersome and affecting performance.

How to display the last value of a field in a group in the group header

I need to display the last quiz score from a group of quiz scores as part of the header of a group of units (the quiz score values are in the detail record). I can not use the group footer, which would be the natural place to find the last value. It must be in the group header because there will be a subsequent group within the unit group. In other words, the grouping is as follows:
Unit Group Header (Display last quiz score in unit)
SubUnit Group Header (Display other detail summaries)
Detail Record (including quiz score)
SubUnit Group Footer
Unit Group Footer
While there is a minimum/maximum summary function, there is not a first/last function.

One suggestion to display the last quiz score in the Group Header, other than what had already been suggested, will be to use a linked subreport in the Group Header. It is not an efficient way to display the information, but it could do the trick.
Another suggestion will be to insert a subreport in the report header, then store the last quiz score in an array for each group, then share it with the main report and display the values in the appropriate group. In this way it will only connect twice to the data source, one for the main report and once for the subreport, instead of multiple connection for each group.
Finally, the most efficient way will be to have this value calculated on the database side using a command object or a stored procedure.

that means , in a table 3 columns are there (col 1, col2 & col3). I personalized the total property as true for col3.
now i'm getting the total for that field.

You can achieve by using OATotalRowBean, search for OATotalRowBean in this forum you should be able to get some sample code.

Note The total is calculated and displayed only for visible rows.

If the OATableBean is also configured to insert rows (so it has an "Add Another Row" button), then the total bean becomes an indexed child of the add table row bean (see OAAddTableRowBean), which the OA Framework in turn designates as the table's columnFooter object.
If you need to access the table's column footer object for any reason, call the OATableBean's getColumnFooter() method. If row insertions are enabled, this method returns an OAAddTableRowBean; otherwise it returns an OATableRowBean.

I am doing one enhancement in QM.I have added one custom screen to notification transaction ( QM01/QM02/QM03) transaction tab strip control using the enhancement QQMA0001.The Details of the calling and called screens as shown bellow

Called Screen: SAPLXQQM
Screen Number: 0101
I have developed the Custom Screen in screen 0101 and called in PBO of program SAPLIQS0 7790 screen.
The Screen in calling perfectly .The Custom screen having different fields like Raw cost, Intermediate cost, Finished cost, SCAR Cost and Sales Order Cost Etc... These fields are out put filed types. No input for these screens.. I have few doubts regarding this

As your screen fields should be global variables in SAPLXQQM, you may initialize them by implementing function module EXIT_SAPMIWO0_008 which also belongs to SAPLXQQM (Customer Exit: Transfer Notification Data to User Screen)

How to find the maximum of group sums within a specific column using report builder 3.0

For each part number I am trying to find out in which week of a month did the largest daily shipment occur... so using report builder 3.0
in SSRS 2012 I can find daily, weekly and monthly totals for the units shipped but I am having a hard time thinking through the logic to find the daily max for each week.
in my data I can have multiple orders/shipments for the same product on the same day.
The ultimate goal is to set inventory levels
So..
In my matrix report I have
Row groups:
Classid => Product class
InvtID => Item Part Number
Column Groups:
FiscYr=> Fiscal Year
PerPost => Month or period the transaction occurred
Week_period => the week the transaction occurred
Day_period => The day that the transaction occurred
The aggregations are
Sum(case_shipped)
Max(case_shipped)
The Sum(case_shipped) is working as desired but the Max(case_shipped) is picking out the max amount shipped on any one order when looking
at the week, month or fiscal period and that is not what I need.
I have attached a screenshot since a picture is worth more than my words. I have also included some sample data
I would very much appreciate any thoughts on this. I am guessing that the solution has something to do with using the inscope function but
I can't wrap my head around how to use it

I was able to find a solution
I built a new dataset in report builder using the same table as before but tried out the "Group and Aggregate" function and for the case_ship
field I chose "Sum" as my aggregate.... In essence this gave me a very cool and easy daliy sum of the shipped cases.
When I used this new dataset and built my matrix report I was able to easily get the max daily shipment for each product by week, month and
year.
