HOW TO FIX SESSION TIMEOUT IN ITUNES

This seems to be a common problem all over the internet!
I can't purchase and download ANYTHING from the itunes store! My internet connection is fine, I've tried changing the time, the time-zone (of the computer), I've reinstalled itunes, restarted the computer, refreshed my internet... I'm on a Mac OS X 10.4.11 with itunes 9.
Itunes asks me to agree to the terms and conditions, I accept and then BAM ... session timeout.
Someone help me please! Its driving me insane!

  • How to fix Gen6IntelGVAQueryAVDCommandStatus timeout?

    When playing video files, typically m4v type files, using QuickTime, iTunes or VLC and maybe other players, the video freezes for 30 seconds or so while the audio continues.  Then the video plays rapidly until it catches back up with the audio.  When this occurs the console logged this message:
    Apr 30 16:42:02 Marks-MacBook-Pro /Applications/QuickTime Player.app/Contents/MacOS/QuickTime Player[9339]: AVF error: Gen6IntelGVAQueryAVDCommandStatus, TimeOut. Resetting.
    Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
    The Macbook Pro is a 2GHz early 2011 with 8GB of RAM and a SSD.  Additional processes have been reduced to a minimum and Activity Monitor indicates that the computer is just loafing along when this happens.  The problem occurs when streaming from a local server and when the file is on the Macbook Pro.

    I am also very interested in an answer to this question. In my case, I was watching a 1 hour m4v file on QuickTime Player 10, when about 25 minutes into it, the audio kept going but I couldn't access the window controls. After a few minutes of this, I force quit QuickTime Player, but everything else had hung as well. I couldn't quit other apps or click anywhere, so after a few minutes was forced into a hard restart. Not happy, since my MacBook Pro 17 inch early 2011 is a replacement after a faulty drive messed up the first one too many times. It has 8 GB ofRAM and a 750 GB 5200 rpm hard disk. The computer was not being pushed very hard when this happened. The m4v file is locally stored and is only about 153 MB.
    The console message that began the long string of trouble was the following:
    May  4 03:00:55 David QuickTime Player[685]: AVF error: Gen6IntelGVAQueryAVDCommandStatus, TimeOut. Resetting.
    I concur with Mark Bailey2 - any idea out there what is going on?? Having seen my share of flakey bahaviour on this new computer, I am nervous and have backed up more frequently than ever before....

  • Iplanet 4.1 - How to set session timeout for a specific application

    Hi everyone,
    I have a Iplanet 4.1 old web instance running on Solaris 8. We are using this web instance to connect to few application instances running on Websphere 3.5. We have upgraded most of our web/app to higher version except this.
    One of the websphere applications need more session timeout. (Which I fuguredout not possible to do on Websphere).
    How do I achieve this on Iplanet 4.1.
    NOTE: I referred to Iplanet 6.x where we can achieve this by updating web-app.xml timeOut value per URI. I do not find web-app.xml under v4.1
    Thanks in advance,

    Sorry to say that we can't help here. WS4.1 is obsolete a long time ago.
    As you mentioned that you should use WS6.1SPx or WS7.0 for your production and get support.

  • How to set session timeout per user

    Hi,
    Ho do I set the session timeout per User in the
    Application.cfm File??
    I tried using
    <cfif SESSION.UID EQ 1>
    <CFAPPLICATION NAME="appControl" SESSIONMANAGEMENT="Yes"
    sessiontimeout="#CreateTimeSpan(0,0,20,0)#">
    </cfelse>
    <CFAPPLICATION NAME="appControl" SESSIONMANAGEMENT="Yes"
    sessiontimeout="#CreateTimeSpan(1,0,0,0)#">
    </cfif>
    But this didnt work because the cfapplication seems to have
    to be at the top before I call the variable SESSION.UID which
    I set on my login page..
    Someone know how to do this??
    Regards
    Martin

    Martin,
    Your code example cannot work because the "session" scope
    doesn't exist until your application scope is defined. So you have
    to handle this manually. Here's how you can get it done. First,
    define your application to the maximum sessiontimeout you want to
    have.
    <CFAPPLICATION NAME="appControl" SESSIONMANAGEMENT="Yes"
    SESSIONTIMEOUT="#CreateTimeSpan(1,0,0,0)#">
    Then, I don't know how you are doing your login
    authentication but when you have authenticated the user, you need
    to define the userid and the most recent activity in the session.
    Also determine your timeout value based on the userid. See example:
    <CFIF IS_AUTHENTICATED>
    <CFSET session.user.uid = form.userid>
    <CFSET session.user.most_recent_activity = now()>
    <CFIF session.user.id eq 1>
    <CFSET session.user.timeout_mins = 20>
    <CFELSE>
    <CFSET session.user.timeout_mins = 1440>
    </CFIF>
    </CFIF>
    Now, all you have to do is check whether the user has been
    idle for too long and kill the session by purging all session
    variables. For example:
    <!--- if user id is defined, this means user is logged in
    --->
    <CFIF structKeyExists(session, "user") and
    structKeyExists(session.user, "id")>
    <!--- check if timeout has expired --->
    <CFIF datediff("n", session.user.most_recent_activity,
    now()) gt session.user.timeout_mins>
    <!--- timeout has expired, kill the session and log the
    user out --->
    <CFSET StructClear(session)>
    <!--- insert your logout code here --->
    <CFELSE>
    <!--- user hasn't timed out, so reset the most recent
    activity to now --->
    <CFSET session.user.most_recent_activity = now()>
    </CFIF>
    </CFIF>

  • Hi I have two questions. I am using NAS 4.1 and was wondering is it possible to set a different session timeout for different users? How is the session timeout set? Thanks, YS

    <i>I am using NAS 4.1 and was wondering is it possible to set a different session timeout for different users?</i>
    Um, there is no such thing as NAS4.1.
    I'm assuming that you mean NAS4.0 (maybe NAS4.0sp1?). If so, then the session timeouts are specified in the session section of the NTV configuration files.
    AFAIK, you can specify session timeouts on a per user basis.

  • How to fetch session timeout from the server

    Hi
    I want to subscribe about the value of the session timeout value from the server
    from time to time , is there any way in the flex or through blazeds to achieve
    this .
    Thanks
    Akshat

    Ernie,
    thanks for your suggestions. It seems my problem can't be solved in a smart way. To your question: My server space is limited ( 1 GB ), I use currently about 2/3 of it.
    I have access to the mails via the web interface and therefore I could forward the mails to my account but I would like to have all mails local on my Mac with the original time stamps and format. But that's not the case for forwarded mails. In addition for sure the problem is not solved, if I cure the current symptoms and I have no idea if it's caused by an update of my Mac or by the server.

  • How I fixed my Home Sharing iTunes Issue

    I had a very old version of I Tunes running on a Windows XP laptop.
    I upgraded my Iphone to IOS 7 today, my Apple TV too and decided to refresh my version of ITunes on my laptop to make sure it'd all still be compatible with IOS 7.  Everything stopped connecting to Home Sharing....
    Here's how it wasn't fixed....
    Degrading the iTunes version
    Rolling back to a restore point
    Repairing the installation of Itunes
    Doing crazy stuff on IPV6 to my network
    Here's how it was fixed....
    Uninstall iTunes
    Remove all traces of Apple software from your PC
    RESTART
    Go to Apple website and install the latest version of ITunes from scratch
    DO NOT cut any of these steps out, if you do, it won't work.  If you do, it will fix your problem, guaranteed!
    Good luck

    I was having trouble seeing my Nano 2nd in iTunes and was afraid to do this step; but it works. My Nano was updated to version 1.1.1 and now everything seems to work perfectly. Keep in mind you will lose everything that is stored on your Nano when you format it.

  • How to fix Communications error with Itunes in FronRow

    I've had the " An error was encountered while communicating with itunes" message whilst trying to play music in Fron Row.
    I ran Apple support and they advised me to check on the settings for where the itunes library was located. I did this and stiil the error persisted.
    After much searching I found the solution... Completely remove iTunes then reinstall it.
    Heres how...
    Drag the application's icon to the Trash. Open the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder and look for one or more preference files named "com.apple.iTunes....plist" and drag them to the Trash. Look in /Library/ folder for an iTunes folder and if you find one drag it to the Trash. Look in /Home/Library/ folder for an iTunes folder and drag it to the Trash. Last, in /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder look for two files with names com.apple.nnnnnnn.plist and drag them to the Trash.
    Open Activity Monitor (Utilities folder) and in the process list look for iTunesHelper. Select it, then click on Quit Process icon. Quit or Force Quit the process. Now open the Accounts preference pane, click on Login Items tab, look for the iTunesHelper entry and select it, then click the "-" button and remove it from the list.
    Empty the Trash. This should fully remove iTunes and its associated files/folders.
    It works like a dream, the communication error has gone and I can play music once again. Hope someone might find this helpfull

    I'm glad you found a solution that worked for you and appreciate your clear description.
    It does seem a bit drastic, however. For others I would suggest at first trying one or both of these Apple support suggestions:
