How to focus controls in web dynpro

Hello everyone
I am wondering how I can focus on controls. I am making a page which only works with thw keyborad (not the mouse) So after pressing enter on an input field, it should focus to the next field and so on until the last one whic triggers an action.

Hi Gino,
Your posting in wrong forum.
There is no built-in way to get current focus.
However, you can track focus yourself up to certain extent. Like validate the inputfield if empty setfocus on it.
So it is possible even it's quite complex.

For calender control, there is Date Navigator under "complex tab". You can just click and drag it and provide calender control.
One more easy way is to create a input field. In the context, create a node and attribute of type "D"(which means DATE). And bind the context to your input field under "values" in property window. While running the program, you will see an calender attached to lt on the input field.

I am a java guy....Can you please explain me how MVC related to ABAP Web Dynpro. In java we have views, controllers and model..but in web dynpro abap i didnt find any model and they are writting all the businness logic in view only. They are not using any component controller as well.
Can any one please explain me this...

Webdynpro is not a complete MVC pattern stuff , but it has also a controller and views.Views are to be completely out of the business logic but webdynpro allows us to put business logic inside the views.
Controller and Windows acts as the Controller in the MVC pattern

Is it possible?

Using the WebWidget UI element you can insert any HTML and JavaScript code but this does not guarantee that your special ActiveX control will work correctly.

EP is a FrontEnd tool for Netweaver to display integrated information.
The information displayed in EP may be from R/3, non R/3, Database,WEb Applicatins.
To Display such information in EP we are using some development tools.
In Short Webdynpro is an Enterprise Portal development tool which can fetch
R/3 data,non R/3 data.
You will be integrate your webdynpro application in EP by creating SAP Webdynpro iView.

Next, you may not add custom js files to WebDynpro and change the way WD processes client input, so there is no way to force user to type only digits and to insert hyphens automatically.

Table Control in web-dynpro for java

Hi SDN,
I was working on a web-dynpro application where I has to display a table control.
Here I am listing my Requirement.
1) A table with 7 columns are to be displayed.
2) 5 of the columns are Drop down list where 3 of the 5 drop downs have dependency of the pervious drop down selection.
3)other 2 columns are input box.
4)The list for the drop downs come from a bapi.
5)the user is to be allowed as many rows he can
6)when he clicks save button the values are to be stored using table of another bapi

I have better solution, I will explain solution for your design and then I will explain new design.
Solution to your problem
How many values each drop down contains? If its not large, execute all drop downs in the beginning of the application and store them in HashMap with dependency key and value as the list of populated values.
- Create a top Node
1) A table with 7 columns are to be displayed.
Create 5 Value Nodes with simple type attributes under your topnode. Set singleton property for each of the node to false. And attach them to the Drop Downs. Populate the parent drop down and non dependent drop downs in the begining itself.
2) 5 of the columns are Drop down list where 3 of the 5 drop downs have dependency of the pervious drop down selection.
Attach onSelect events and based on the current selection of the values, check your pre populated HashMap and fill the node with new values.
3)other 2 columns are input box.
This is normal, create two nodes with simple types under Top Node.
4)The list for the drop downs come from a bapi.
As mentioned previously all these values are pre populated. so you need not to call the BAPI for each request.
5)the user is to be allowed as many rows he can
Provide Add,Delete buttons which dynamically creates rows which means your context elements.
6)when he clicks save button the values are to be stored using table of another bapi
Read the values from nodes and send it to other BAPI.
New Design
As per your requirement create a form with 5 drop downs and 2 input fields( for dependency you can use the logic mentioned in the previous design). Provide Add,Delete and Update Buttons under the form. And also create a Result table with 7 columns with simple attribute types. Once user enters some values in the form and clicks on Add button then add a new value to the Bottom result table which doesn't have any drop downs. When user needs to update any row on selection of the row populate the values back to the form, then user clicks on update button. Same logic applies to delete also.

Authorization control in Web Dynpro

Dear experts,
I have a question about setting authorization in Web Dynpro. For example, how can I control if a button can be pressed or what kinds of data should be displayed based on user role in UME.
Moreover, if I have security settings declared in EJB (ejb-jar.xml). Then I use this EJB in Web Dynpro. Can the UME role be passed to the EJB, i.e. the security setting in EJB still valid? Thanks.

I have created a webdynpro component that interacts with SAP. I have done the authorization control through SLD. Well for individual elements of a webdynpro application i dont know if it is possible to restrict through authorization control.Maybe its something that needs to be worked upon.

I would like to develop a Web Dynpro application using TabStrip control. I have to display SAP standard iViiw(ex: KM navingation iView, expore iView) in each Tab. How can I embed iViews in each Tab in Web Dynpro.

Hi,
using the IFrame UI element to display an iView inside a WD application will not work in general as the iFrame is reloaded after each request executed for the embedding WD application. In case that the iView is "stateless" this restriction is perhaps not so hard but you should nevertheless make sure that the ongoing reloading of the iFrame does NOT create new sessions again and again on the server-side for the iView running in the iFrame.
With the next NetWeaver release we will provide a capability to define page layouts using WD components. Doing this it will be easily possible to define a page layout showing several iViews in different tabs of a tab strip.

How to configure SSO for web dynpro ABAP (not web dynpro Java)

Hi Experts,
 I am testing SSO in IDES for web dynpro ABAP (Not for web dynpro Java / not for portal). When I am entering url of web dynpro application in web browser like internet explorer, then it should ask for user id and password first time, after login whenever user would access that url, it must not ask for user ID and password (url would be access web browser in mobile). For this I select to configure single sign-on for web dynpro ABAP. I have done below works:
1). I have created a web dynpro application having url: http://susws076.sap.swk:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zadb_hello_world2
2). I run TCode SICF and access service node to "Zadb_hello_world2". Double click on it, hit change. pressed "logon data" tab, select "Alternative logon
 procedure"
 Then deleted all logon procedure other than "SSO Authentication" and saved.
3). Go to "STRUST" and create certificate, choosed "Environment==> Logon Ticket" fill the required parameters and execute. It is OK (no red traffic
 signal).
4). Execute TCode "RZ10" to change profile parameter, insert new parameter (indicated by red arrow)
After all this settings I opened a browser enter above URL and hit enter but there is an error
There is no login page. It directly showed this error page. No cookies is saving.
Can anyone tell me what all the settings/configuration other than this I have to do. And is there any wrong setting done by me?
How to set the for single sign-on?

How can I convert my Web Dynpro Application to Web Dynpro with GP Interface

Hi experts
I am trying to make my Web Dynrpo Application implement GP interface.
I encountered a question .
when I added GP interface controller, "Window" component also added automatically.
But I have already had a "Window" componet which contains alot of View settings.
Do I have to Use newly added GP "Window" component?
if so, do I have to recreate "Window" Componet whenever I convert to my web dynpro application implementing GP interface ?

How to call method in web dynpro for ABAP

I created a z class and two methods to get the data.
I created a WE4A application. Now i want to call these methods from my Z calss in the web dynpro ,but i am getting amessage saying 'type zclass is unknown".
when i am trying to declare
data: cl_class type ref to zclass . i am getting above message.
can anyone explain how to call zcalss methods in my application.

You can call any global class method in WDA via. Wizard.
Even more you can make your class as assistance class and call their methods by wd_assist.

How can we identify which css file and class are used in web dynpro abap iview ?? I m new to web dynpro abap application. I need to change the look and feel of the page developed in web dynpro abap.
How i can use css files to change the UI of the page and how can i reach to the css file and class of a particular page developed in web dynpro abap. When we run the abap application on browser we don't get view source of it. Please tell me the ways to find the css and class files to modify them

I don't believe that your answer applies to Web Dynpro ABAP. Page with Flog Logic sounds like BSP. Please make sure you are posting about the correct technology.
