How  to genearte Unit Test reports  through  ANT/Command  line ?

Hi,
I am using sql developer unit test feature to test my database code. I am planning to execute and generate reports by running ant script.
Is it possible to get the unit test results in any format (text,XML,HTML) after running the tests.
How to integrate report generation tasks as part of Automated builds?
Is there any command line utility do through can invoke through ant task?
Thanks,
Fernando

Fernando,
I, too, am looking to run our PL/SQL unit test suites through our automated ant build scripts. Currently, I've only been able to determine that there is a "UtUtil.bat" and "UtUtil.sh" command line utility for win and linux in /sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/bin. However, it only take three switches:
UtUtil -run ?
UtUtil -imp ?
and
UtUtil -exp ?
While this does provide some limited value to us through automating the importing of our exported test suites and then running them as part of our builds, it doesn't help in running reports on the test runs and exporting the reports to something our build processes can consume (i.e. xml).
Also, we want to be able to run our full db build on (almost) any of our development machines and we don't want to have to have a unit test repository already preconfigured on each development db. I haven't found a utility to automate the creation of the unit test repository user and the repository, and then whena all the test suite runs have finished and the reports run, delete the repository and repository user.
We have used Quest's Code Tester product in the past and it had all of these great features that I am really hoping Oracle can either implement or expose to us.

Mike Sanchez

  • How to compile forms and reports in linux command line ?

    Hi,
I'm working on a migration from forms 6i to 11g R2. The development/migration is being made on a Windows 7 64 bits, however, those forms and reports will run on a Linux RHEL 5. Thus, I have to compile them inside that linux box.
How can I do it? Is there a tool to compile the forms and reports in command line withn a linux box?
    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks for the answer, Carlos.
I run the command but this error message is displayed "FRM-91500: Unable to start/complete the build".

    Hi Swaminath,
Adding to what Sandhya told..When the huge work is diveded by units, each unit is assigned to a Developer. After complition of the assigned work Developer has to do testing that object by seeing that Unit Plan or Creating Unit Plan.

  • Advice on constructing a test engine and formatting a spreadsheet test file to perform command line interface testing on a product through telnet or serial interface

Advice on constructing a test engine and formatting a spreadsheet test file to perform command line interface testing on a range of products through telnet or serial interface and output pass/fail results.

If I understand correctly, you want to do the following:
    1. Create one or more tab-delimited files that specify a series of query strings (that LabVIEW will send to your products) and expected reply strings (that LabVIEW will look for in response to each query)
    2. Run your LabVIEW program (the test engine) and have it execute one or more test scripts from file using either TCP/IP or serial communication to your units under test
    3. Track how many of the queries are met with the expected response, and output an indication of whether each step passed or failed
If this is close to correct, then I've attached a sample test file and LabVIEW VI as an example; I chose the TCP/telnet method because it allowed me to use the ni.com Web site to simulate my tes
t hardware. If you happen to own the LabVIEW Internet Toolkit, there's a VI called "Telnet Play Script" in the Telnet palette that does something fairly similar using TCP. The same general model would also work for Serial communications.
    Hope it helps,
    John Lum

    Hello j. smith,
TestStand gives you the ability to create "sequence files" which are lists of tests to be run sequentially or in parallel. These tests can be written in any language: LabVIEW VIs, C/C++ DLLs, EXEs, ActiveX objects, .NET Assemblies, etc.
You can run your TestStand sequence files from a command-line prompt using the following syntax:
    \bin\SeqEdit.exe" /quit -run
This will launch the TestStand Sequence Editor (and optionally prompt you for TestStand login information if you have this configured), run your sequence file, then exit.
If you're using the TestStand process model, it can output your results to a report file or database if you configure this. To use a TestStand process mo
del to execute your sequence file, use the following syntax:
    \bin\SeqEdit.exe" /quit -runEntryPoint
    Here's an example:
    C:\>"C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.0\bin\SeqEdit.exe" /quit -runEntryPoint "Single Pass" "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.0\Examples\Demo\C\computer.seq"
Note that multiple sequences and sequence files can be specified on the command line.
TestStand supports remote sequence execution using DCOM (Distributed COM), which is an east way to remotely execute tests. But as for running tests or commands through a telnet or serial interface, you would have need to check Windows documentation on how to execute command-line remotely like this.

  • How To Start Forms and Reports From Start Command

    Hi All,
How to start Oracle Forms and Reports in Oracle8i My OS is Windows 2000.Please tell the procedure to get into forms and reports.
Otherwise we have to install other software for Forms and Reports.
    Thanks
    Sujan

    Sujan,
what does the database have to do with starting Forms and Reports ? If you are on Wondows2000 then navigate to the \bin directory if the Oracle Home you installed Oracle9iDS to. Type ifbld90 for Forms and rwbuilder for Reports design environment.
If your ability to start Forms and Reports from the command line is your only exit criteria in evaluating software for a project , how far will you go with it?

  • Scheduled Reports results by Command Line

I have several reports that I schedule to run nightly in Discoverer 10G Desktop. How can I open the scheduled results using Command Line? Once open, I want to export the results as Excel. I can do a unscheduled report using the code below:
    \oracle\BIToolsHome_1\bin\dis51usr.exe /connect username/password@report /apps_user /apps_responsibility "responsiblity name" /opendb "report name" /sheet "Exception Report" /parameter "parameter name" 'parameter value' /export XLS C:\TEMP\testexport1.xls
Is it possible to retrieve the scheduled results? How much of this could be done at command line and how much would have to be done in a third party scheduler?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
How can I open the scheduled results using Command Line? Is it possible to retrieve the scheduled results? No, I don't think it is possible to retrieve scheduled results from the command line.
How much of this could be done at command line and how much would have to be done in a third party scheduler? It would be better to do it all using a third party scheduler such as the windows task manager. You could schedule the export to run overnight using the task manager and a windows command file. You can search this forum or the LearnDiscoverer blog for more details on third party scheduling.

  • How to Load an app to iPad using command line

    Hello,
I am trying to build an iOS app and load it to an iPad where I want to run an automated test on it from command line.  I do not wish to use Fruitstrap or any other third party tool/code as I only want to use native apple code.
xcodebuild -verbose -project iOS_Calc.xcodeproj -configuration Release -sdk iphoneos6.1 -arch armv7 -target iOS_Calc clean build
    xcrun -sdk "iphoneos" PackageApplication -v "$project_dir/build/Calc.app" -o "$project_dir/build/Calc.ipa" --sign "$provisioning_profile" --embed "$project_dir/$mobileprovision"
Above is the script I have so far to build the app, but I dont know how to load it to an iPad via command line. Does anyone know how to load the .app to iPad device?

I'm also interested. Not only load but also run.

how to run form in the background from command line

Ummm....Oracle Forms is a foreground runtime kind of thing. What you want is a database procedure (or an OS utility - it depends on what sort of processing you want to do in the background).

  • How do I cancel a rman job from command line?

    Hello to all,
I am having some problems with a rman job that is running via OEM-GC. I get an error message regading the SPFILE and control file being locked due to another job accessing it. I found this in the RMAN ref guide:
To determine which job is holding the conflicting enqueue:
    1. After you see the first RMAN-08512: waiting for snapshot controlfile enqueue message, start a new SQL*Plus session on the target database:
    % sqlplus sys/sys_pwd@prod1
    2. Execute the following query to determine which job is causing the wait:
SELECT s.sid, username AS "User", program, module, action, logon_time "Logon", l.*
    FROM v$session s, v$enqueue_lock l
    WHERE l.sid = s.sid and l.type = 'CF' AND l.id1 = 0 and l.id2 = 2;
You should see output similar to the following (the output in this example has been truncated):
SID User Program Module Action Logon
    9 SYS rman@h13 (TNS V1-V3) backup full datafile: c1 0000210 STARTED 21-JUN-99
    Solution
After you have determined which job is creating the enqueue, you can do one of the following:
    * Wait until the job creating the enqueue completes
    * Cancel the current job and restart it once the job creating the enqueue completes
    * Cancel the job creating the enqueue
So with this in mind; How do I cancel the job from RMAN command line!!!
This is my output by the way:
SID User PROGRAM MODULE ACTION Logon ADDR KADDR SID TY ID1 ID2 LMODE REQUEST CTIME BLOCK
    475 SYS [email protected] (TNS V1-V3) backup full datafile 0000018 STARTED16 23-APR-09 00000023EB8D488 000000023EB8D4A8
    475 CF 0 2 4 0 113123 0
Any help will be gratefully received
    Thanks to all that reply

  • How can I unit test my Swing application?

    Hi All,
In my application I came across a situation where I have to automate the unit testing of my application.
Using my application user can able to draw polylines and rectangles on a BufferedImage added to a JFrame.
Can any one please help/suggest me, how to automate the drawing process (this process consists of drawing the polylines with mouse and few action/mouse events)?
your help will be highly helpful to me.
    Satya

What exactly will that unit test prove? That you can mock the drawing of lines?
Unit test are supposed to test certain parts of your application code - I'd concentrate on unit tests that are actually useful and for example in the future can help to catch regressions.
If anywhere you can get help creating unit tests of this magnitude, I'd look in the unit testing support for Swing applications. Google for "java swing unit test" to see what you can come up with. Probably you'll need to create some plumbing yourself to make custom painting unit-testable; perhaps you could do something with painting to a BufferedImage in stead of to a Swing component for example.

  • Firefox keeps prompting users to disable java plugins How can reinable them through the command line or registry?

Windows users keep getting prompted about java version being insecure and are advised to disable the plugin. They then complain that java based websites no longer work. Can I disable / prevent this warning feature. And can I re-enable java plugin via command line or script? I need to do this on a large scale and various versions of firefox. Right now I will need to abandon firefox if I cannot easily resolve this. Yes I realize updating to latest version of java is a solution... but this will take too much time now and how long before another security fix for java and then I will have to update yet again.

Tylerdowner, to say that Firefox 3.6 is no longer supported is not an answer. Apparently, the so-called block deployed for the Mac OS X version of Firefox, created to deal with a vulnerability in Oracle's Java, has now crept into the Windows version. Moreover, it is blocking the latest version of Java, which was not intended according to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=741592. The official text of the block follows:
Java Plugin has been blocked for your protection.
    Why was it blocked?
Outdated versions of the Java plugin are vulnerable to an actively exploited security issue. All Mac OS X users are strongly encouraged to update their Java plugin through Software Update, or disable it if no alternatives are available. For more information, please read our blog post or Oracle's Advisory.
    Who is affected?
All Firefox users who have installed the Java plugin, JRE versions below 1.6.0_31 or between 1.7.0 and 1.7.0_2.
    What does this mean?
Users are strongly encouraged to disable the problematic add-on or plugin, but may choose to continue using it if they accept the risks described.
When Mozilla becomes aware of add-ons, plugins, or other third-party software that seriously compromises Firefox security, stability, or performance and meets certain criteria, the software may be blocked from general use. For more information, please read this support article.
Well, whoever wrote the code to block the Java plug-ins specified above screwed up, since it is blocking even the updated Java plug-in.
I have an enterprise with many computers, and we had deployed Firefox as our browsing platform. Based on the latest decisions at Mozilla, new version numbering, forced release cycle, and almost all add-on vendors just walking away from the maintainence nightmare created by this decision, I guess it's time to move over to the Dark Side and adopt Google Chrome.

  • How can I start a second window of a second profile through the command line?

I have two profiles set up, 'default' and 'second'. If both are already running how can I start a second window of profile 'second'?
firefox -p 'second' : opens a new window of the default and,
firefox -p 'second' -no-remote : tells me that firefox is already running.

    I don't think that this is possible.<br />
You need to open this second instance (Firefox profile folder) with the -no-remote command line switch and that makes it impossible to open external links via the command line or via a double-click.<br />
You can only open a link in such an instance by dragging the link on the tab bar of that Firefox window.
