  • How to generate Word document from JSP ?

    Hi,
    I want to generate Word documnet from JSP. I am using Neva objects to generate Word document. Now my problem is Word doc generation code works alright as a Java application but when I place that piece of code in a JSP bean it throws an exception. The reason seems to be unavailibility of DLLs and other files of Neva in Tomcat environment. I do not want to use other complex packages like JIntegra, I would prefer any freeware solution. There is not much info. about Word document generation on POI project in Jakarta site.
    Could anyone suggest way out ? Any Java examples doing the same would be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Akash

    Hi Saurabh,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I have tried that too. Problem with that solution is that if you have used CSS in your JSP code MS word does not understand it and generates word doc which is not the same as HTML which JSP otherwise would have generated.

  • How to generate unique document number ?

    Hi All,
    We need to generate Document Number where there should be any gap, so that we cannot use sequence. For example : Invoice Number.
    one possible approach like : Select MAX(InvoiceNumber)+1 from invoice, what if that table has millions of rows, is this reliable enough ?
    How to avoid two user do the same query at same time that lead to dupplicate number ?
    Anybody has done it this way in production? or any other approach ?
    Thank you for your info,
    xtanto

    I strongly second Justin's strong suggestion about re-considering the requirement.
    Be aware that for any of the schemes suggested to have a chance of working, all access to the table must be through stored procedures that use a SELECT FOR UPDATE on the counter table. No user in the database can have insert privileges on the document table except the owner. The owner's password should be kept in a locked safe and be unknown to anyone. If for some reason the owner needs access to the database, then remove the password from the safe, do what needs to be done, then get some guy off the street to set a new password, write it down and lock it in the safe again.
    If you really need a gap-free number, it needsto be another column, separate from the PK. Use a sequence to generate the pk gaps and all, then create a procedure that runs periodically to update the gap free column. Soemthing like:
    SQL> CREATE PROCEDURE fix_gap_free AS
      2     l_v NUMBER;
      3     TYPE id_tbl IS TABLE OF number INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
      4     l_ids  id_tbl;
      5     l_id2s id_tbl;
      6  BEGIN
      7     SELECT MAX(NVL(id2,0)) INTO l_v FROM t;
      8     SELECT id, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY id)
      9     BULK COLLECT INTO l_ids, l_id2s
    10     FROM t
    11     WHERE id2 IS NULL;
    12
    13     FORALL i IN 1 .. l_ids.COUNT
    14        UPDATE t
    15        SET id2 = l_id2s(i) + l_v
    16        WHERE id = l_ids(i);
    17     COMMIT;
    18  END;
    19  /
    Procedure created.
    SQL> SELECT * FROM t;
            ID        ID2
             1
             2
             5
             7So, id2 is going to be the gap-free column.
    SQL> exec fix_gap_free;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> SELECT * FROM t;
            ID        ID2
             1          1
             2          2
             5          3
             7          4So first pass is fine. Now lets add a few rows, so the table now looks like:
    SQL> SELECT * FROM t;
            ID        ID2
             1          1
             2          2
             5          3
             7          4
             8
             9
            25and generate more gap free number:
    SQL> exec fix_gap_free;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> SELECT * FROM t;
            ID        ID2
             1          1
             2          2
             5          3
             7          4
             8          5
             9          6
            25          7If there may be deletions in the table, and you need to maintain the gap free nature, then just skip the WHERE id2 IS NULL predicate.

  • How to generate printed document with "continuous" section breaks versus "next page" section breaks?

    When generating a Word or PDF document from the HTML help files a "next page" section break is used after each topic. How can I get a "continuous" section break instead?

    I've been poking around a bit more. Here's the deal.
    New chapters will always start on a new page and have a next or odd page break according to the Start New Chapters setting. If ticked it will be an Odd Page break, else a Next Page break.
    Topics within a book will follow the Start Each Topic on a New Page setting. If ticked, each topic will be separated by a page break, not a section break. Else they will be on the same page with no breaks of any type.
    Topics not within a book will be followed by a section break.
    So section breaks are only created for chapters and topics not in a chapter.
    Hope that helps. Please post back if you find otherwise.

  • How to generate clearing document

    Hi guys,
    My problem is: Through Tcode: FB05, I can post the open items in Accounting Document(which hasn't been cleared before). After I post the open items successful, a clearing document will generate for the operation. The clearing document includes the open items which I have operated on.
    For example:
    Tcode: FB05
    customer: 70000006
    Residual open Item: 10000001
                                  10000002
    Clearing Document should include 10000001 and 1000002 items.
    Result:
    In Table: BSID (Accounting: Secondary Index for Customers), there are 2 items.
    My question is: Except above method to generate an clearing document, is there any other method to generate an clearing document?
    Thanks!

    Thanks.
    I have used the FB05 to post the open items. I think it has the same effect to Tcode: FB03.
    I want to know if i haven't used above tcode to post the open items, did the clearing document generate? Is there other method that can generate an clearing document?

  • How posting key is taken up when we generate accounting document

    hi ,
    i am trying to bill a customer using billing type RE which is credit for returns. but when i generate posting document instead of crediting the customer account its getting debited  ie) it is taking up the posting key 01 instead of 11 .
    how this posting key is determined when we generate accounting documnet .
    if u have any questiin or clarification kindly ask me.
    thanks

    hi,
    start with checking OBXW, here you check the customer item outgoing invoice, where you will find posting keys assigned for debit and credit. Might be its configured wrongly here.
    Second, Check T.code OB40 this is where we tell what type of accounts are affected with this posing key and is the effect a debit or credit. You have radio buttons for it.
    But remember these are all standard SAP config settings and i guess there would really be a need to change them here if not while practising.... Make the settings as required and do consult an FI guy on this.

  • How to validate generated XML-Document in Memory by XML-Schema?

    Hi all!
    I have the following problem:
    I am generating a Document using the DOM delivered with Xerces 2.6.2.
    Before I'll send the generated xml-document through network to another system I have to check with my xml-schema if the document is correct.
    In the DOM-FAQ I found an "example" trying to explain how it should work. But with this example the problems begin.
    I am creating my document with this method:
         public void createDocument() {
              myDOM = DOMImplementationImpl.getDOMImplementation();
              doc = myDOM.createDocument("", "documentData", null);
              root = doc.getDocumentElement();
              root.setAttribute(
                   "xmlns:xsi",
                   "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance");
              //          root.setAttribute("xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation", "myScheme.xsd");
              domConfig = ((DocumentImpl) doc).getDomConfig();
              domConfig.setParameter(
                   "schema-location",
                   "file:///d:/workspace/XMLProject/WebContent/WEB-INF/myScheme.xsd");
              domConfig.setParameter("error-handler", new EHandler());
              domConfig.setParameter("validate", Boolean.TRUE);
         }In the line getting the domConfig, it is getting differeing to the example: The example is like this:
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import org.w3c.dom.DOMConfiguration;
    import org.w3c.dom.ls.LSParser;
    Document document = builder.parseURI("data/personal-schema.xml");
    DOMConfiguration config = document.getConfig();
    config.setParameter("error-handler",new MyErrorHandler());
    config.setParameter("validate", Boolean.TRUE);
    document.normalizeDocument();They get the DOM-Configuration from the document-Object, but my document-Object has no "getConfig()" and only after type-casting I get a getDomConfig()-Method to get the configuration.
    Then I fill my document and call
    ((DocumentImpl) doc).normalizeDocument();When I run my Application I get the following error:
    org.w3c.dom.DOMException: FEATURE_NOT_SUPPORTED: The parameter schema-location is recognized but the requested value cannot be set.
         at org.apache.xerces.dom.DOMConfigurationImpl.setParameter(Unknown Source)
         at xmlProject.createDocument(Convert.java:63)
         at xmlProject.Convert.main(Convert.java:154)I tried several ways to get the validation without success.
    The next question is how I should refer to my xml-schema (which path) and where to place it relative to my jar I will generate, because I will have no webserver I could place it on.
    Has anyone any experience with validating a document created and not placed on disc?
    I have also another question to SAX: I read, that it is reading a document without saving it in the memory. I think this means that if I am validating it by SAX it will be read once and for parsing it will be read a second time. If I would transfer the document over an tcp-connection, I only have the document once in my inputstream and after validation it would be consumed I think. But what can I parse then? Or did I missed a detail with the function of the SAX?
    Thank you for your help!

  • How to link PDF document in Report Layout??

    I need to display the contents of PDF document after the form letter report. I tried OLE object but at the runtime it does not display the content. Does any one knows how to attach PDF document in reports layout?
    Thanks
    Ravindra

    you will have to concatinate your report output with the static PDF document. in reprots 10g you can create a cusotm destination that could implement this functionality.
    out of the box, reports does not provide the ability to add static content in PDF to reports' generated PDF output.

  • How to generate one report in multiple formats with FOP or BIP?

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to generate multiple formats of one report in a single "call" using Apache FOP or BI Publisher? (something similar to reports bursting).
    Right now I can only select one format at a time.
    Thank you,
    Ana-Maria

    Hi Ana-Maria,
    When you enable printing on a report region or add a button to download a report query to your application, then you get a single document download. How would you see this working with "multiple formats"? Given that APEX is a development environment, you can pretty much implement anything you like. The built-in printing capabilities in APEX come with an API that allow for customization of the default functionality, e.g. you can use apex_util.download_print_document to dynamically assign report layouts at rumtime or to use you own XML data sources or XSL-FO style sheets. More relevant to you question though, there's also apex_util.get_print_document. What that allows you to do is to generate report documents inside the database and e.g. store them in database tables or email them out to a list of recipients. You can call this API as often as you like to, requesting any combination of available report formats.
    The API function is documented here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/apirefs.310/e12855/apex_util.htm#CHDDECIA

    How to generate MT100 file in XML ?
    Dear All,
    Base:      We are working on ECC 6.0 version and developing B2B with bank.
    Requirement:     For B2B bank requires payment orders in MT100 format wrapped in XML.
    At Present:     I am using PMW format MT100(standard) in payment method. With the use of this format system is generating MT100 text file.
    In this standard PMW format MT100, check box for u201Dmapping using DME engineu201D is not selected.
    My Try:      I  change in format output from file to XML in Payment Media Format (T. Code OBPM1), but it doesnu2019t work.
    In data medium display (T. Code FDTA) system is showing the following error.
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
    XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Users/888881/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Wind...
    In view source system is showing only this,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    My Question:      How to generate MT100 file in XML ?
    Should I have to create DME Format Tree in ( T. Code DMEE )  and  create new Payment Media Format (T. Code OBPM1), with the mapping using DME engine ?
    Please give your valuable suggesions,
    Thank you,
    Rony

    Hi Prabhu,
    The program SAPFPAYM generates the payment Medium  on the basis of your configuration and background settings, this program does not bydefault give the output in the XML.
    Varient creation for the PMW in T. Code OBPM4, use the same program, which i already done it, even without this it is not be possible to create any payment Medium.

  • How to generate Billing Request Items in SAP CRM

    Hi Folks,
    We have requirements to create BRIs for Service contracts. Each BRI will create a Debit Memo Request in SAP ECC.
    All Billing activities happens in ECC.
    I did the following configuration:
    1. Synchronization of master data (SAP CRM and SAP ECC)
    2. Synchronization of pricing conditions (SAP CRM and SAP ECC)
    Conditions are identical in both systems.
    3. Customizing of service transactions in SAP CRM
    You have set the External Billing indicator for the relevant item categories. You do this in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Billing Define Billing Relevance of Item Categories.
    4. Customizing of controlling objects in SAP ECC
    You have defined CRM controlling objects to which costs and revenue generated by external billing can be automatically assigned. You do this in Customizing, by choosingIntegration with Other SAP Components Customer Relationship Management Settings for Service Processing Controlling Integration
    5. Controlling integration: Customizing: Integration with Other mySAP.com ComponentsCustomer Relationship Management Settings for Service Processing Billing Integration Map Transaction Types and Item Categories.
    When i release the Contract items, I dont see any BRI created. I am not sure where should i check, if BRIs are created.
    I have following questions:
    1- Where to check if BRI is created for contract
    2- How to generate BRI.
    3- Can i debug the process of BRI creation? Is there any FM which gets called or BADI?
    4. what am i missing in above config.
    Any help, material will be helpful.
    Regards,
    Shastri.

    Hi Naresh,
    You need to use Billing Plans for Service Contracts Scenario to create BRI items.
    In the Billing Plan - you can assign whether it is a Periodic Billing or Milestone Billing. Then you need to assign this billing plan to item categories. So based on the period (monthly,quarterly,yearly) - the BRI items will be generated.
    So Please try using Billing Plans for your scenario. As you mentioned earlier, you are using ECC for all Billing purposes. So the system will create one Debit Memo Request document per Contract and it will each line item for each of the BRI's in Service Contract. System will not generate one DMR per BRI item.
    You can check the BRI items generated at the item level --> Billing Plan Tab page (Assignment Block in Web UI).
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Siraj

  • How to get number document of Original documents

    Hi all !
    now I have a request how to obtain original documents. Specifically as follows:
    I have an Invoice 1. I'm partial payment for that Invoice. The system generates a new invoice and it will be the clearing document for an invoice. Then I continued to make a payment more than once.
    How can I get an invoice number of the document?
    If you have a solution or experienced this problem. Please just help me.
    I would just appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

    My specific requirements are as follows:
    I have Invoice_1 with a value of u20AC 10,000.
    I use T-Code F-02 to make Payment_1 enter the value 1000 EUR. Then Using Residual Clearing (F-32) to make clear the Payment_1 and Invoice_1.
    After making clear, the system will generate Invoice_2 with a value of u20AC 9,000.
    In the database of the system will be Invoice_2 Document Clearing of Invoice_1. How to document from the number of Invoice_2 I know the document number Address Invoice_1.
    Note: This is just a simple case because only a Payment was made. In fact there may be many times the payment should be made by the clearing document was very difficult.
    I want a solution that actually simple enough to know number Address document of the original documents from the document by Clearing document number.
    Thanks !

  • How to generate individual HTML files from linked help?

    Hi folks,
    I'm trying to figure out how to generate individual web pages - based on heading types - from a help project this is linked to a FrameMaker book.
    I'm linking to the FM book, rather than importing, because the import process ruins my graphics. So, I know how to create individual web help pages using the import process; but that's not an option for me. (The graphics issue is a whole other discussion, which I've since given up on.)
    So, I'm using TCS 3.5 (RH9 and FM10). I've successfully linked to the FM book. Each topic represents a complete chapter and includes a single Heading 1 for the title and several Heading 2's. Again, these are all in the same help topic because I'm linked to the FM book.
    What I want to do is generate the web help so that new web pages (files) are created. In other words, I want breaks before each Heading 2. I want the resulting web pages to be named based on the Heading 2.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks for reading,
    Tom

    I’m not sure I understand the problem (I’m using FM 10, RH9, TCS3):  You can adjust .isf and all Conversion/CSS mapping, etc settings for an existing project (Linked or Imported) at:
    File > Project Settings > FrameMaker Document > Edit Conversion settings for FrameMaker documents: (click Edit button).
    Then, Go to FrameMaker Settings > Paragraph > Heading 1 etc. and click the box for Pagination.
    What I don’t know is if you have to re-do your linking process from scratch to do your pagination settings right the first time (like create a new project with your Frame docs, which shouldn’t be hard to test if you have saved your CSS, Master Pages etc), or already have an .isf file  with proper settings that you can specify at time of first import/linking. I already had these in place when I set up my linked project of a Frame book with 13 chapters – 350 pages – resulting in over 300 separate HTML files/topics (set H1, H2, and H3 levels to paginate). I don’t know if you can change these things post-linking, but it can definitely be done!
    There is definitely no reason to have to have an entire FM chapter as one topic in RH. You may have to create a new project to achieve your desired results, I am not sure.
    I hope this is helpful. Regarding RH ruining your images, I know what you mean. Through a painstaking process of research, trial, and error, I found that these Image options in the Conversion Settings produced the best results for me, though not as good as “ideal:”
    ·         Check the box for “Use Distiller to Generate Image”
    ·         Leave the “Do Not Regenerate Images” and “Preserve 3D Images” boxes unchecked
    ·         Under Preferred Dimensions: Check “Maintain Aspect Ratio” and check Width and Height – Set both to 0pt. (*This one was a key tip.) Leave “Scale” unchecked. (Scaling seems to do terrible things in RH.)
    ·         I left the Max Dimensions settings unchecked.
    ·         Set my personal preferences for margins (2pt all sides) and borders (solid, gray, 1 pt)
    ·         Under Advanced, Default format of PNG with color bit depth of 24. My graphics are all screenshots, so this is the reason for this in my instance.
