How to generate Low Width PWM

Hi all,
I need to interface this sensor with my LM3S8962 Board.
According to the datasheet, I will send pules 5uS wide avery time I need to neasure distance, So I'd like to generate a 5uS wide pulse that is periodically repeated every 25mS.
I tried to do that with two ways but there is no signal on ocsilloscope.
Did any one know an other way to do that?
thanks

The interger part of 0.2 is always zero.
Configure PWM in project:
PWM Divider /32
Configure the node:
Frequency: 40 Hz
Duty Cycles Units: PWM Clock Cycles
Wire an integer constant to EIO node (5us*50MHz/32 = 7.8125 => floor(7.8125) = 7)
However, SIG on that PING))) is bidirectional, so be patient when building the hardware. You cannot connect that directly to a microcontroller pin without using Inline C Nodes (in LabVIEW you have GPIO in, GPIO out, PWM, which is output, but no option for in/out)
You don't need the Timed Loop to make the signal.

  • Need Help on How to Generate Pulse Width Modulation signals

    Hi,
    I am New in using NI board and programming using LabView. I have no idea on how to start to generate, use what function in order to create a PWM signals.
    My project needs:
    -PWM signals with 15kHz frequency.
    -Duty cycle varrying from 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%.
    -By using the generated PWM signals to control the half-bridge (MOSFETs) of boost converter and buck converter to varying the voltage of 24V battery to feed in my DC motor.
    The NI board that I use is (NI - sbRIO-9642).
    Can I have a clear view on what to use, how to generate, and by using what functions to generate the PWM signals.
    Sorry for the inconvienient, but I really desperate for help in this. Thanks a lot. I am appreaciate it.
    The attached is the circuit the half-bridge motor controller that I will used.

    Hi Ronald,
    in this thread a very similar question came up. You can use the same approach on your sbRIO.
    For the frequency you gave you should use the FPGA present on the sbRIO - as is shown/discussed in that other thread! I also suggest that other thread because of the "deadtime" feature used to prevent shortcut problems when switching your MOSFETS simultanuously...

  • How to generate a pulse train with different pulse width and delay?

    How to generate a triggered pulse train with different pulse width. for example, after each trigger signal, let's say 2 ms, then the counter output a pulse with pulsewidth of 1 ms, and then after 3 ms delay after the first pulse, the second pulse was generated with a pulse width of 4 ms.  Next cycle when the trigger signal comes, the same two pulses will be generated and so on. Is it possible to achieve this by using 6601 counter card? and if yes, how to achieve this? Thanks!

    Unfortunately you can not create a hardware timed pulse train with different widths on each pulse from a counter. Whilst it can be changed on the fly using software, since you require a hardware triggered signal getting the software involved will not give a huge amount of accuracy when the pulse will actually change.
    So in short you can't use your 6601 card (or a counter timer) to achieve this
    There are three possible Alternative solutions
    1 You could use a high speed digital IO device such as the (6533/34) to generate your variable signal which would require setting up the pulse train as a series of states based around the burst transmission mode where the clock would give you your specific timing.
    2 A timed analogy output (for example on a MIO card with a clock (PCI-6220 / 62xx), i.e. Not the 6704 style static analogy output cards)
    3 A high speed digital waveform card such as the (, 656x , 655x, 654x, 6534, 6533 (http://www.ni.com/modularinstruments/find_right.htm) ) this could then be scripted to work with your triggering and also there is a digital waveform editor which will enable you to set up the pattern you wish to generate (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/13555)
    Hope that helps

  • How to generate pwm pulse using NI DAQ in MATLAB

    hi everyone. please tell me how to generate pwm pulses using Ni DAQ card in MATLAB Simulink. if through coding is possible then post the corresponding code.....reply me

    Make sure you have installed the Measurement studio support for VB 6.0 then you will be able to find examples in the folder below on win7 and 8.
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples
    Narrow down to Analog Output and choose update voltage example for measurement studio.
    You also have the possibility to use DAQ assistant if you have measurement studio installed. This function is a configuration type programming. After going through the configuration Wizard code is automatically scripted for you so that you can output the voltage you need. Read more about DAQ assistant in the blow link.

  • How to Generate Statistic Graph in Report??

    Hi, i am developing an questionnaire program together with 19 question... i am able to get value for each value..
    Now my problem is how to generate a statistic graph whenever user can check their report ??
    Can anyone help?? Thank you very much......

    The easy way is to use your values to set the width or height of an image dynamically in HTML, but you can only do bar charts using this method.

  • How can I vary a PWM´s duty cycle inside a while loop?

    Hi,
    I'm using the "Generate Pulse Train.vi" to generate pwm signals in counters 0 and 1 in order to drive a DC motor both ways.
    The problem is, I need to control the movement of the dc motor with my PI controller which is inside a while loop. I've tried letting the "generate pulse train.vi" outside the while loop, but the problem is, it only changes the value of the duty cycle when the loop is stopped. I also tried putting it inside the loop, but then it doesn't even work.
    So, how can I vary a PWM´s duty cycle inside a while loop?
    I'm attaching the VI with the PI controller.
    Thanks for your help!

    Here's some code I threw together a while back to change a duty cycle on the fly. It generates a fixed 5KHz or 25KHz frequency depending on laser selection, then allows duty cycle to be changed continously. Maybe you can use the premise of it for your application.

  • How to use Counter/timer PWM Pulse as a trigger to aquire data??

    (1) I'm using the NI DAQpad 6015 multi-function card with the new DAQmx Driver. I'm using the counter/timer (counter 0, and counter 1) to generate 2 different PWM pulses to supply my sensor circuit. each pulse is a 1 second in duration. The pulse with 5m.sec duty cycle is the supply for my sensor. In addition to that, I'd like to use the 5 m.sec as a trigger to aquire the sensor reading. The DETECTIN POINT should be the middle of the HIGH State of the 5m.sec pulse (i.e just at the 2.5 m.sec point of the high state).
    (2) another point is: how to display the counter/timer pwm output pulses on the front pannel??
    Attached is the VI i'm using (Complete PWM.vi)

    Hello alaali,
    It sounds like what you need is a trigger delay property node.  This property node specifies an amount of time to wait after the Start Trigger is received before acquiring or generating the first sample. This value is in the units you specify with Start.DelayUnits.  This way you can still acquire using the trigger, and you can specify the delay to be 2.5 ms so that the point that you actually acquire will be 2.5 ms after the trigger.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to generate individual HTML files from linked help?

    Hi folks,
    I'm trying to figure out how to generate individual web pages - based on heading types - from a help project this is linked to a FrameMaker book.
    I'm linking to the FM book, rather than importing, because the import process ruins my graphics. So, I know how to create individual web help pages using the import process; but that's not an option for me. (The graphics issue is a whole other discussion, which I've since given up on.)
    So, I'm using TCS 3.5 (RH9 and FM10). I've successfully linked to the FM book. Each topic represents a complete chapter and includes a single Heading 1 for the title and several Heading 2's. Again, these are all in the same help topic because I'm linked to the FM book.
    What I want to do is generate the web help so that new web pages (files) are created. In other words, I want breaks before each Heading 2. I want the resulting web pages to be named based on the Heading 2.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks for reading,
    Tom

    I’m not sure I understand the problem (I’m using FM 10, RH9, TCS3):  You can adjust .isf and all Conversion/CSS mapping, etc settings for an existing project (Linked or Imported) at:
    File > Project Settings > FrameMaker Document > Edit Conversion settings for FrameMaker documents: (click Edit button).
    Then, Go to FrameMaker Settings > Paragraph > Heading 1 etc. and click the box for Pagination.
    What I don’t know is if you have to re-do your linking process from scratch to do your pagination settings right the first time (like create a new project with your Frame docs, which shouldn’t be hard to test if you have saved your CSS, Master Pages etc), or already have an .isf file  with proper settings that you can specify at time of first import/linking. I already had these in place when I set up my linked project of a Frame book with 13 chapters – 350 pages – resulting in over 300 separate HTML files/topics (set H1, H2, and H3 levels to paginate). I don’t know if you can change these things post-linking, but it can definitely be done!
    There is definitely no reason to have to have an entire FM chapter as one topic in RH. You may have to create a new project to achieve your desired results, I am not sure.
    I hope this is helpful. Regarding RH ruining your images, I know what you mean. Through a painstaking process of research, trial, and error, I found that these Image options in the Conversion Settings produced the best results for me, though not as good as “ideal:”
    ·         Check the box for “Use Distiller to Generate Image”
    ·         Leave the “Do Not Regenerate Images” and “Preserve 3D Images” boxes unchecked
    ·         Under Preferred Dimensions: Check “Maintain Aspect Ratio” and check Width and Height – Set both to 0pt. (*This one was a key tip.) Leave “Scale” unchecked. (Scaling seems to do terrible things in RH.)
    ·         I left the Max Dimensions settings unchecked.
    ·         Set my personal preferences for margins (2pt all sides) and borders (solid, gray, 1 pt)
    ·         Under Advanced, Default format of PNG with color bit depth of 24. My graphics are all screenshots, so this is the reason for this in my instance.

  • How to generate very fast pulses (single puls)

    Hi,
    I have a problem with generating fast pulses in LabView (2009 / 9.0, Win7-64enterprise).
    I try to explain my project:
    I have a femtosecond laser which sends pulses with a frequency of 200kHz. It mean 100fs puls 4.9999us low...100fs pulse.....
    The laser have a gate which switches the laser output on and off (optic crystal --> very fast)
    My task is to make it possible to send one single pulse out of the laser. You should have some user interface with LabView and enter
    the amount of pulses (one, two... or more) and a big "fire" button.So we can make tests with a fixed amount of pulses.
    I am very new to LabView and really dont know how to generate very short pulses. I try with a NI-USB6008 card and was possible to do some time loops
    to generate something close to 100Hz. Now I have NI PCIx-6351 card. and want to try to generate pulses of 1us. How to do??? I dont see any posibility to go below 1ms.
    Later on I want to try some syncronisation with the laser. I want to catch one pulse and sync to the next pulse.
    Anyone able to help me with this task ?
    btw: sorry for my clamsy english...
    bjoern

    bjoern,
    OK.  A gate window should be something which can be accomplished.
    The USB-6008 only uses software timing so fast pulses are not possible with that device.
    I am not familiar with the PCIx-6351 and can find no reference to it on the NI website so I do not know what its capabilities are.  Many of the NI cards with digital I/O and counters can generate pulses or pulse trains in the timing range you want.  If you have the NI DAQ drivers, look for examples of pulse generation.

              this.setResizable(true);
              this.setLocation(XPOS, YPOS);
              this.setSize(WIDTH, HEIGHT);
              this.setTitle("Crystal Report Java Viewer");
              //Add GUI components to the frame including the ReportViewerBean.
              addComponents();
              //Add GUI listeners to the frame.
              addListeners();
              //Set the report that the ReportViewerBean will display.
              this.reportClientDoc = reportClientDoc;
              reportViewer.setReportSource(reportClientDoc.getReportSource());
              reportViewer.init();
              reportViewer.start();
              //Display the frame.
              this.setVisible(true);

  • How to generate datasource for inforsource in BW 7

    Hi all:
         Could you please tell me how to generate datasource  for inforsource  in BW7, it seems that the way
    is different from other lower edition BW 3.x.   Should I  choose   Tranformation  ? and then how ?
    Thank you very much!
    Edited by: jingying Sony on May 9, 2009 8:41 AM

    1) First thing is that in BI 7.x the infosource is optional.You can directly create a transformation between datasource and data target (e.g. cube). If you still want to use a infosource then you will require 2 transformations. 1 will act as a transfer rule and other one will act as a update rule. This is a crude example showing the comparision between 3.x and 7.x.
    2) Infopackage in 7.x will load the data only till PSA. From PSA to data target you will need DTP. DTP will load data from PSA to data target. So you need to ensure you create a complete flow from datasource to data target and create infopackage & DTP.

    Hi ,
    One 'simple' way is by using the DBMS_SCHEDULER db package and the procedure CREATE_JOB(....) using as job_type the value 'EXECUTABLE'...
    Read for further info in 'PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference'.
    If you have access to OEM ... you can configure this there using wizard.....
    Other way is to use the External Procedure call capabiblity of Oracle DB Server...:
