How to get 10 MHz reference clock out of PCI-5922

Hi,
I am evaluating PCI-5922 for the my application.
In my application, PCI-5922 will get signal from agilent 33250 function generator and both instruments will be triggered at the same time with the same trigger signal.
Is there any way to take out reference clock (10 MHz) out of PCI-5922? If that is possible, synchronizing can be easier.
I am expecting to have answers from experts!

Hi Zeehoon,
There are two steps to export the 10MHz reference clock out of the PCI-5922.
1)Specify the reference clock source (to use the internal reference select "no source")
2)Specify the reference clock output (a list of valid terminals can be found in the PCI-5922 Routing Matrix inside the High Speed Digitizers Help)
Here is a LabVIEW snippet showing the clock exported to PFI 1:

  • How to get rid of the "time out" when using DAQ AI in the example program

I try an example file called "AcqVoltageSamples_IntClkDigRef" (Visual C++ .NET). It works great. However, if the program has not recieved the data, it sent out a timeout message. How to get rid of the "time out"? I cannot find anywhere in the code. Is this a property I have to reset somewhere else?
    Thank you,
    Yajai.

    Hello Yajai,
The example program will use the default value for timeout, 10 seconds. To change this, you will have to set the Stream.Timeout value. I inserted this function into the example and set it equal to -1, and the program will wait indefinitely for the trigger signal without timing out. Please see the attached image to how this was implemented.
I hope this help. Let me know if you have any further questions.

  • 5600 Downconverter : 10 MHz Reference CLOCK

    Hi RFSA Guys,
Is it possible to vary the  10 MHz Reference Clock and use  it ... for demodulation of RF Signals
to a new value ... lets say 9.9992 MHz ?
If this is possible, upto what resolution can I vary the clock..
Can I vary it terms of 0.1 Hz or 0.01 Hz.. Is the  10 MHz Reference Clock truly that stable ?
I have a competitor clock which is stable upto  0.01 Hz... but not in PXI Form.
If this is not possible, Can anyone suggest a PXI Version of a Variable Stable External Reference Clock ?
Basically, I am looking at varying the Reference Clock to vary my Symbol rate for a Device Under Test.
    Thanks for your help..
    Dharmendra

    Dharmendra,
You might also run into problems when the downconverter tries to phase-lock to that reference clock, since it's expecting 10 MHz. Can you tell us a bit more about what you're trying to do? There might be a different way to accomplish it. Thanks!

  • How to get caller object reference from a method

    Hi,
I am working a already existing Java Swing project, now I got a problem, in a method I need to get the caller object reference otherwise, I can't succeed this operation. So please tell me a way how to get the caller object reference from a method. that method would be static or regular method anything will do for me.

Actually my doubt is, I have a method "addition" method, which is using by many classes so my requirement is in the addition method I want to write a code snippet which will identify and get the the caller object. Actually I tried Reflection.getcallerclass but there I am getting "CLASS" object not the actual object reference, but I want object reference.
Actually we have a huge project which is writen plain JAVA, so in this project the authors written the Database connection package for single database transaction. so now we are using this project source code for JSF application in this web application the DB package has serve based on the dynamic db connection parameters, so if we want to change this package fully means need to solve the dependency problem in hundreds of classes, so my point is if I can access the caller object in the DB package when ever it gets called by any class from any where of the project. So actually I liked Reflection.getcallerclass, the way of implementation perfectly works for me but it is not giving caller object reference, if something gives the caller object then I can get the DB connection parameters then there is no need to pass the parameters in the hierarchy. You can add a parameter (of type Object) to your addition() method
and everywhere you call the addition() method also pass this (which from the POW of the addition() method will be a reference to the calling class instance).
    There may be alternative solutions
but none that require less effort.

No. You have to use the event. But if you simply disgard the activation, you
don't need to change it's run time menu. You'll need the event structure
anyway to catch the selected menu item.

  • How to get the Row reference

    Hi All,
There's a method findRowByRef(Stirng rowReference) in the interface OAApplicationModule.
I have a ViewObject instance in an application module. That VO instance has many rows in its collection.
Could anyone tell me if there's a way to make the rowRefernce out of a VO Row so as to pass that reference to the am's method.
Basically I want to get a String representation of a VO row and that string should fetch the right row back when the findRowByRef is called..
    Thanks
    Raj

You cant derive SourceReference from the Row. This is just one way relationship.
OAF stores the row in the Application Module's session (note: its not a j2ee session) as a name-value pair.
Only those rows which are getting displayed on the screen will have a name value pair in the session.
Hence you cannot derive the sourceReference from the Row object.

Using a couple of property nodes, you can get an array of references for all of the controls on a front panel.  From there, just register the array.

  • How to get the transaction by function out of VIRSA in an easy way

    Hi collegues,
I'm looking for a simple solution / query to extract a list out of VIRSA compliance calibrator (5.2). The list should bring up the transaction codes by function.
    e.g.
    PM01 - ca87
    PM01 - ip30
If possible please name the table in VIRSA where this information is stored so I can do a simple query in the SQL-view
    thanks a lot
    Matthias

    Hi Matthias,
in RAR 5.3 you can use the download function of the rule architect. There you get information about tables, functions, actions and permissions.
I don't know if you have this function in VIRSA compliance calibrator 5.2. I started my career with 5.3

  • How to get .class files (and others) out of JAR in code?

    Hi all,
I am packaging up several classes in a jar file. In my code I want to be able to "read" any number of jar files, and in each case pull out all the .class files to create instances of them. I don't want to unzip/unjar the files to the disk system. I basically want to create instances of the classes in the jar files in memory as if they had been loaded off the disk by themselves. Here is the sticky issue. I have a class in each jar that is "instantiated" by my plugin engine. There are other classes in the JAR file that "support" this class that is created. For instance, the class that is instantiated then has references and calls to new SomeClase() in it, and those classes are in the JAR file. So, is there some way to either "pull out" the class(es) of a JAR file without actually unjarring them to the local system and be able to create instances of them? Or, perhaps there is a way to make the classpath of the running app "see into" all the JAR files (and any sub-dirs/packages in that jar file) as if it was part of its class path? Again, these are always loaded via the Class.forName() call and newInstance(), and can not be programitcally added to the initial running application.
    Thanks.

Not sure if this is what you are asking, but...
You have jars that reference each other (sounds pretty tightly coupled to me, maybe they shouldn't be in separate jars, but I digress) and each has a manifest file in META-INF, right?
To reference another jar's contents, simply add it to the Class-Path variable in your manifest. Then you can reference the classes as if they were all unjarred and slapped in the same directories.
