How to get ALL values as default for  a drop down box in JSF

Hi,
I have a drop down box in JSF page which retrieves values from LOVCache.java. I have values like Company, Client, User, ALL in the drop down box.
By default blank value is selected for the drop down box. I want to make ALL(which retrieves data for all the values) as default value for the drop down box.
Could any body help me? Any help must be appreciated.
Thanks,
Aseet

Thanks Nikhil. But I am fetching the values from the LOVCache.java.
I am using <af:selectManyChoice>. Is there any way I can use LOVCache.java value for selecting default values instead of hard coding?
I mean to say can I write
unselectedLabel="#{LOVCache.entityTypeSelectionList.anyValue}"
where LOVCache.entityTypeSelectionList is used to populate the drop down box.

Aseet

  • How to show "ALL" Values by default in Page Drop-Down Lists in Pivot Tables

    Hi Everyone,
    Iam stuck with 1 problem please can any 1 help me if u know the solution.
    Here is my problem:
    How to show "ALL" Values by default in Page Drop-Down Lists in Oracle BI Pivot Tables?
    For example, if you place Region in the pages area, a Region drop-down list allows the user to select a particular region, and see the data for only that region, rather than seeing all the Regions,But by default its not showing "ALL" option in the drop down list ,rather than doing that its showing result for only 1 region by default.
    And an other problem with this pages area is, if we palce the multiple attributes in the Pages area in the pivot table, the (Fields)result is showing in vertically, the attributes 1 by 1(Every attribute in a new line) ,rather than showing like that, is there any way to show the results in horizantally?(We want to have it as a seperate drop drown list for every field horizantally not as a concatenated list).

  • How to get my usernames to appear from the drop down box then password automatically put in?

    =( ugh...
    I used to have my settings where it remembered my user name from the drop down box - so I would just type the first letter of my user name and a drop down box would appear and I could just click on my user name for that particular site and my password would automatically fill in...
    I changed something the other night and can't remember what the heck I did... now it won't remember ANY user name OR password or like on face book it has my user name and password there automatically when I open up the log in face book page.
    So I would like to know if anyone knows what needs to be clicked and unclicked to make it so:
    I start typing my user name and the drop down box appears with user names and then my password automatically fills.. I DO NOT want all my user names and passwords already IN the forms when I first open the website... but for me to actually type in a letter and then it fills it... like it used to =(
    /cry
    why do I touch stuff?
    Anyway I hope someone can help me because I am going nuts trying to figure it out and think I'm goofing things up even more =/
    I have firefix 3.6.10

    Does this help?
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Password_only_filled_after_entering_user_name
    * Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode

    i think normally u will get data from databsae as objects.they are like java beans having getter and setter methods.so you create a collection of those objects like collect all the objects coming from database into an arraylist or....
    suppose you want to populate the dropdown box with say "username" from database object s, your code will look like that
    <html:select property="name">
    <html:options collection="databaseList" property="username" />
    </html:select>
    "databaseList" is collection(say.. ArrayList) of objects you are getting from database.this dropdown will contain all the "usernames" you are getting from database.

  • Adding '-Select-' on top for a drop down box

    Hello,
    I have a drop down box mapped to a field in the context, the field has some domain values and are populated in the run time. but I have to add another top row '-Select-' indicating to the client that the field need to be selected.
    To add 'Select', I can write a method in the WDDOINIT method of the controller and also loop through the domain values and append to the drop down box. But I don't want to do too much of d/b interaction, as the fields are anyway loaded to the dropbox by mapping.
    Is there a way in web dynpro, that we could do like in normal ABAP reports, to Loop at the screen and identify all the drop down boxes and add a 'select' row at the top?
    I really appreciate any help.
    Thank you
    KV.

    Hi Kiran,
    Can you make your requirement more clear to me?
    As much I understand from your message is that you want to add a dynamic Text on the top of Dropdown.Like Select the field need to be selected.
    from where you will get this field information?
    what message you want to add?
    If you have the field information then
    (a)Create a textView on the top of Dropdown
    (b) Bind it's property "Text" to the context attribute say Text .
    (c) now set this value like
    wdcontext.currentcontextelement().setText("Select "+field);
    If this is not the right interpretation of your problem then please explain it in detail and tell me step by step what you want to do?

  • In Firefox 4, how do I get back the context menu for the drop down list of the Location Bar so I can Open Link in New Tab, which I did often in FF 3?

    Firefox 3 has a context menu for the drop down list of
    the Location Bar. One option on this menu I used often
    is "Open Link in New Tab" -- quite convenient.
    This context menu has disappeared in Firefox 4.
    Can I get it back?

  • PCUI : Changing the Default in the drop down box.

    Dear Gurus,
      How can I change the dropdown default in the show dropdown box of Lead application from "My Favorites" to "My Leads". Also, if I want to add an extra listing in this dropdown box how do I achieve it.
    Thanks in advance!
    Vivek.

    You are in 4.0, i did't remember the GET dropdown as it is not there in 5.0 release.
    GET dropdown gets its values from the fieldgroup(FG) assigned to the search area. There is rule to display fieds in the get dropdown. It takes all fields in the FG which are visible in the LIST. <b>FIRST</b> field in the FG will be shown as default in the GET DDLB.
    <i>For example look at the CRMM_ACCOUNT shows Account ID as default. Because field PARTNER1 is first field the FG ACC_SEARCH_LOG_11 which is inlcude in the FG ACC_SEARCH_04. Move the SORT1 field to position 1 in FG ACC_SEARCH_LOG_11. Now "Sort term 1" will be defaulted in the GET DDLB</i>
    Hope this will solve the problem.

    Hi Sivakumar,
    I found solution for you but you have to change in the standard as there are no exits for this.
    Are you interested by changing the standard?

  • How do I set a "force-fill" to a drop-down box?

    How do I require the drop-down boxes to be filled prior to submitting?  I already have the "required" box checked.  I'm guessing that maybe why the required is not working is due to the blank I have at the top of the list.  I did that so upon opening the document the boxes appear blank & need a selection entered.  This is what it looks like when I remove the blank.

    Thanks for replying.  Although, I may need a “dumbed” down version of your response…Let me see if I understand correctly.  I cannot require a recipient to select an option in a drop down box.  Or is that only the case if I have a blank within the list?  I’m fairly new to the Adobe Forms (read: no formal training…just bumbling along on my own), so I have no idea what setting the property to true means or how to do custom scripting.

  • How do i change the backgrond color of a drop down box.

    I'm creating a form which has a colored background and a drop down box with 5 choices.  The problem is the font color in the drop down box is white and so is the background color of the drop down box so the selections are not visible unless you scroll over them.  I would like the background of the drop down box to match the background of the form.
    Also, can the font size of a selection in a drop down box be different then what is displayed.  The font is set to 35 so it's huge when displayed in the drop down box.  It would be nice if the selections were displayed in the drop down box in size 10 font but displayed on the form once selected as size 35.
    Thanks!
    Mike

    You can set the background colour with (in formcalc):
    $.fillColor = "5,5,5" // obviously changing the numbers to the RGB colour you want
    or if it is not going to change just set it in Border tab under Background fill.
    For the size of the font - set the dropdown box to size 10 font and then in the exit event of the dropdown list put (in formcalc):
    $.font.size = "35pt"

  • In FF4, how do I change the orange color of the drop down box that says 'firefox'?

    I find the bright orange drop down box very annoying and distracting. How do I change the color?

    One way is to use the App Button Color add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/app-button-color/

  • How to get the values multiple times for the specified element - ABAP IXML.

    Hi all,
             i have requirement to get the values for the specified elements multiple times. eg:., if the element is used in the xml 4 times then i need to get all the 4 values.  here is the sample xml,
    <View mmRelease="6.30" mmVersion="2.0" mmTimestamp="1180099591892" name="Comp_viewtestView" package="sap.com" masterLanguage="en">
    <AbstractView.InboundPlugs>
    <InboundPlug name="ip2">
    <ParameterizedFeature.Parameters>
    <Parameter name="ippara2">
    <Parameter.Type>
    <Core.ForeignReference modelName="DtDictionary" package="com.sap.dictionary" name="binary" type="DtSimpleType"/>
    </Parameter.Type>

    </Parameter.Type>
    </Parameter>
    </ParameterizedFeature.Parameters>
    </InboundPlug>
    Here i need to store the following values in internal table, the element to get the values are,
    (1) InboungPlug name and the respective values of "Parameter name" and "Parameter type" name value.
    The output will be of 2 records & values should be
    Inbound plug name = ip2
    Parameter name    = ippara2
    Parameter type      = binary
    2nd record
    Inbound plug name = hi
    Parameter name    = hipara
    Parameter type      = Visibility
    These 2 records should be in internal table and then i will be passing to database table...
    Can anyone provide me the code for the above......
    Thanks in advance,
    Vishnu.

    I didn't get ur requirement..
    As per my understanding, upload the XML file into an internal table and then loop over the internal table and get the values for ptype and pname..

  • Checkbox item: How to get all values checked?

    See http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:46
    The report query is simply
    select
    'One' one,
    'Two' two,
    'Three' three,
    'Four' four
    from dualThe checkbox item is a named static LOV with STATIC2:ONE,TWO,THREE,FOUR and a Source value of ONE:TWO:THREE:FOUR so that all boxes appear checked when the page is first rendered.
    All the 4 columns have a column condition like
    instr(':'||:P46_COLS||':',':ONE:') > 0to ensure that column is rendered only if the corresponding checkbox is checked.
    The report has Dynamic column headings with the following PL/SQL function body
    return 'ONE:TWO:THREE:FOUR';To my (pleasant) surprise, this works very nicely. When column TWO is conditionally not rendered, its corresponding column heading is also skipped with no effort on my part. Nice.
    Question:
    Instead of "hard-coding" that string ONE:TWO:THREE:FOUR in the 2 places I mentioned above (checkbox item source and report heading), is there a way to access the "all values checked" version of that LOV item so that it will dynamically pick up the latest LOV changes? The way I have done it currently, if I change the named LOV, I need to also change those 2 places where I have hardcoded the values.
    Any ideas? Thanks

    Scott:
    I thought about that but the LOV has dozens of values, each with a verbose display value and a return value of the column name (upto 30 characters) and the display values are still being "worked on" by the users.
    So, the "all columns" string would be a big, unweildy string that would be hard to edit.
    It is much easier to edit, resequence and generally work with a Shared Component LOV defined as a Static LOV because you get that nice page (4000:4111) where you can read everything nicely formatted instead of a STATIC2:<big long string>!
    Can I have my cake and eat it too?!
    Thanks
