How to get attribute from value ?

Hello experts,
I've following problem:
DATA: lv_cell TYPE REF TO data.
DATA: contact type BU_CONTACT_CHAR.
lv_cell = r_param->value. 'lv_cell contains 1
'now i want to give this paramter to another variable in order to start a fm
move lv_cell to contact. '=> retunrs error.
call fm...
How can I give this value to this paramter ?

Problem solved:
we have to de-refrende the object
and then move it to a vriable.
DATA: lv_cell TYPE REF TO bu_contact.
DATA: contacti type bu_contact.
move lv_cell->* to contacti.

How to get attribute from select

Hello
I have a problem getting the value from my select-field from my form in my servlet.
I can get the values from the textareas and the textfileds but not from my select. If i mail the same form i get the selected value, but not when i try to get this in my servlet.
To get the other values i use:
String subcategory = (String) request.getAttribute("subcategory");
Is there any other way to get the values from select (or radiobuttons) ?

don't you think you should use request.getParameter("XXX")?
And if your can select multiple items , then use request.getParameters("SSS"). Note that this method return arrray of String.

How to get attribute from xml file

I managed to grab all the info from xml, except the "url" attribute in <image type="poster" url="" size="mid" .../>. Any ideas?

How do I send information from one JSF page when the navigation rule redirects it to another?
When JSF navigation does a forward I can use request.setAttribute() in the from-page and then use request.getAttribute() in the to-page, but this doesn't work with <redirect/>.

But this value is returning a null value ....
Can anyone help me to get this attribute value which is actually having a actual value .

getCurrentRow() would always return null if no setCurrentRow() is used.
Please check the page design and understand how many rows of VO are there. You can also use the following to get the row:
vo.reset();
vo.next();

I need to be able to extract all values from the dropdown menu; I know how to get all those values as a string, but I need to be able to access each item; (the value in a dropdown menu will change dynamically)
How do I get number of item is selection dropdown?
How do I extract a ?name? for each value, one by one?
How do I change a selection by referring to particular index of the item in a dropdown menu?

The findElement method allows various attributes to be used to search. Take the following two examples for the element below:
<Select Name=ProdType ID=testProd>
</Select>
I can find the element based on its name or any other attribute, I just need to specify what I am looking for. To find it by name I would do the following:
Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("ProdType","SELECT","Name")
If I want to search by id I could do the following:
Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("testProd","SELECT","ID")
Usually you will use whatever is available. Since the select element has no name or ID on the Empirix home page, I used the onChange attribute. You can use any attribute as long as you specify which one you are using (last argument in these examples)
You can use the FindElement to grab links, text boxes, etc.
The next example grabs from a link on a page
Home
Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("Home","A","innerText")

Hi,
What kind of web page do you have? Do you have possibility to for example make RFCs? Then you could trigger events (with parameters that could "return" the values) and the workflow could react to those events. For example your task can have terminating events.

How to retrieving attributes old values from a OBJECT_CHANGED event

I have installed Sun ONE Directory Server 5.2. I have registared Event Listener which implements both name space change and object change interfaces. After chaning some attribute value, i am able to get the new values of attributes using getNewBinging method. But when i call getOldBinding to get attributes, it is returning null. Can any one help me how to get the old values. This is very much urgent and we are trying to write custom connectors to synchronize the data in Sun ONE directory server with other directory servers like Oracle Internet Directory.
I am new to Java and JNDI.
It would be great help if any one can light me in this regard. Thanks in advance.

I have been also working for the same issue. getOldBinding() does not return old attributes in case of ObjectChanged event. So far I did not find any solution. Does anyone know any solution?

ADF dynamic ViewObject based on query. how to get attributes?

i have an read-only view object based on query like this:
SELECT :func(:paramm) as EMP_SAL from dual
and set :func & :paramm parameter by vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam(..) function.
but i couldn`t get EMP_SAL attribute after executeQuery command.
in another case i would set new whole Query by vo.setQuery(..) but the problem exists.
please help me. how to get attribute in such vo objects!

Instead of using the VO attribute names to set and get values, best to go to the VO definition, click on Java, and generate the View Row Class with the accessors.
In the class where you're trying to set attributes, instead of a Row class, use the View Row class of your VO (eg ViewObjectName's class would be ViewObjectNameRowImpl), and when retrieving a row from the VO, cast the row to the previously mentioned View Row Class.
At that point you can use the View Row Class's methods that would perform sets and gets of each column.
To get attribute names, I don't know off the top of my head, but there might be a method mentioned in the Javadoc for the ViewRowImpl or ViewObject or ViewObjectDefinition classes to get the attribute/column mapping, or perhaps you can somehow read the XML definition of the VO which has that mapping.
Assuming business components were built automatically and no attribute names were overridden, intuitively the attribute name is a camelcase version of the column name, removing understores and capitalizing the character following the removed underscore - but that's not a fool proof approach. Just a general observation.

1. Read out the property kerningValue from the insertion point between the two characters:

Be aware that there are a lot of other factors that will apply to character distance if you change the kerning value (like tracking, kerning method, composer, desiredGlyphScaling, desiredLetterSpacing, horizontalScale … just to mention a few), especially if the paragraph justification is set to JUSTIFIED or FULLY_JUSTIFIED.

Ok I got your requirement now.
If you are getting file names from view attribute then you should not be adding destination URI property for the link.
Instead you can use OADataBoundValueViewObject API.
Try below code in your controller processRequest method:
I am assuming that you are using classic table.
Also in below example it considers OAMessageStyleText and you can replace it with link item if you want.
