How to get documet Id by passing document name?

Hi All,
I'm hitting the BO XI R3 server to get the pdf report as downloadable using the URL below.
http://servername:portno/CrystalReports/viewrpt.cwr?id=34877&promptex0=BANKAGENT&promptex1=sv66397&promptex2=1&cmd=EXPORT&EXPORT_FMT=U2FPDF:0
But I have a scenario where the document gets updated very frequently so I wont be able to use id parameter to get the report, as it gets refreshed everytime the document is updated.
So is there any way to get the latest document id by passing the document name as parameter through BO SDK?
Please let me know.

I already tried with the same idea. And I have got the id as well. Thanks a lot for your response. So this issue is solved. 
 
But I posted this thread so as to have a solution in hand as a backup since originally I wanted to have a solution for a problem with opendocument url only. 
 
I have posted a thread on the same, BO Opendocument Url not giving pdf report when invoked through Java. 
 
So it would be very helpful if I get a solution for that. Which would be best matching solution for me. 
 
The problem with viewrpt url is that I have been asked not to use it by our client's BO support team due to some security concerns.

Post the PDF files to a web site. The browse to them in Safari on the iPad. When you Open the files specify the Open to occur in Adobe Reader. Then you can have/Save them in your Documents folder on the iPad. An iPad has limited access to files otherwise.

I have downloaded the latest update to iWork, but that doesn't help.
I use Mac OSX 10.6.7
I am using Pages '09 version 4.0.5 (852)

A few general trouble shooting tips that may apply here:
1. If you used Software Update to do the OS update(s) to reach 10.6.7, go to http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and download and apply the Mac OS v10.6.7 Combo Updater. The Combo Updater contains some fixes that were not included in the incremental updaters used by Software Update.
1a. Check that you have the current version of Pages (and of the other iWork applications) installed. All three applications' current version numbers end in .0.5
2. A common cause of malfunctioning applications is a corrupted preferences file (.plist file). Your Pages '09's plist is at yourname > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iWork.pages.plist
Quit Pages, locate the file and Drag it to the Desktop (or to the Trash).
Restart Pages and attempt to open one of the files.
If all is well, Trash the plist file and empty the Trash.
If there's no change, AND you've made changes to the Preferences that you wish to keep, drag the file back to its previous location, replacing any new one that has been created.

How to get passwords working in Pages documents?

I've set a pages document to require a password to open. When I open the file, it opens without requiring this password. Any thoughts on how to get the password working? The doc is on icloud, could that be a factor?

Finally, I've added a new field movement in transaction GCF2 with sender tables ACCHD, ACCIT_GLX AND ACCCR. The joint venture name comes only from FI documents and not JVA documents, so, only JVA information of P&L accounts is available.

1) How can we get the indesign document full path. I am able only to get the document name but i want the full path of it.
2) How can we get the selected picture path also. I am able only to get its name.

Dear Experts,
How we can get the list of archeived documents ? Infact I am not able to some documents,which are already generated as per the number range interval FBN1.I am not able see these documents in parking/held document lists as well.

Displaying the Archived List
To display the archived list, proceed as follows:
       1.      In the SAP System initial screen, choose Office -> Business documents ->Lists.
       2.      Enter the appropriate search information on the selection screen (in our example, the name of the report).
       3.      Choose Execute. The system displays all the of archived lists that meet your selection criteria.
       4.      Select a list and choose, for example, Display from archive system. The system displays the archived list.
       5.      If the list contains index lines, you can search for them using Edit -> Search by attribute. In this example, the list contains an index line every 100 lines, with the following entries:
Name
Value
Index
IDX
Number
Sequence number of index lines
You can use the Search by attribute function to navigate to line 100, 200, 300, and so on. The index lines themselves are not displayed. You can only use Search by attribute if the list was sent to the spool system while the program was running. Search by attribute is not available if the list was displayed first, then archived afterwards.

How to get Current Log in BO user name in data access driver

In universe, to get the current log in user is via @Variable('BOUSER').
Right now, I need to be able to get the user name in the data access driver. I am writing a customized data access driver because we need to patch some where clause on the the query generated by the universe based on the logged-in user info. I only think of using end_sql parameter or adding an universe level filter to patch the @Variable('BOUSER') to the query, which would not work if user want to use customized query.
Can anyone tell me how to get currentBO user name from connection server ? or how @Variable('BOUSER') is translated into the logged-in user name in the universe?

(usage: =connection([Query Name]), where [Query Name]
denotes the name of the tab for the query under Edit Query)

I'm not sure if this info helps out either, being that connection provides info on a post-processing basis and it sounds like you need to get out ahead of the SQL generation. The @variable('bouser') would seem like the place to be, however, in allowing custom SQL to take place you loose the bouser due to an individual could customize the SQL to the point that it gets unwantingly yanked out. The end_sql might be your answer...

Hi Experts,
I need "ERDAT" field from two structures (QMSM & QMFE) in 2LIS_18_IOTASK extractor.
In LBWE first I moved ERDAT from QMSM. When I moved ERDAT from QMFE it gives an error:
"Field with same technical name is already available in the Extract Structure".
I don't want to create Append Structure as we need to write User exit.
Can any one tell me how to get this field added in the extractor from QMSM and QMFE?

this is not possible as the all those fields are put in one structure. per definition you can't put the same field name twice in a structure, table in the data dictionary...
hence, you really need to use an append and fill via user exit

How to get the number of created document?

My first program in ABAP works very well. Thanks to all who helped me
I would like only one function to it.
The program read data from excel file and generates document using BDC.
I use this statement:
call transaction 'F-65' using bdcdatafile
I count the number of documents which have been generated or refeused because of error using the sy-subrc function.
if sy-subrc <> 0.
 counter for errors
else.
 counter for generated documents
endif.
Finally program displays these number on the last screen and the user knows if there everything is ok. For example this is a sample screen:
1. OK.
2. OK.
3. Error.
Number of imported documents (2)
Errors (1)
However, I would like to add one information to these screen. If the document is saved it gets its own number.
Is any possibility to get this number for displaying?
Maybe there is a function which returns this number.
I want to get the scren like this:
1. OK. Document No. 10000001
2. OK. Document No. 10000002
3. Error

The document number should be being passed back via a message. You need to specifiy to return any messages in the messtab when calling the transaction.
DATA: MESSTAB type table of BDCMSGCOLL WITH HEADER LINE.
call transaction 'F-65' using bdcdatafile
 messages into messtab.
Messtab will have the messages after the call, you can then read this internal table and check for the success message, usually the document number is in the first variable field, MSGV1.

OSB: How to get stored in sbconsole xml document in message flow

I created a xml document (say ram.xml) as a XML document utility resource in OSB sbconsole.
I want to refer this in message flow with fn:doc. Unlike xquery i can't assign ram.xml to a variable.
I tried fn:doc("/home/osbuser/user_projects/domains/domain_name/osb/config/core/ram.xml") and fn:doc("file:////home/osbuser/user_projects/domains/domain_name/osb/config/core/ram.xml") it didn't work!
I know if i store this xml as a xquery, it will get assigned to a variable. But i am just curious to see how fn:doc works!

The reason for this is to eliminitate each assign action for each of XMLs that I use. Each assign gets converted into a xml bean and thats overhead.
If this fn:doc() works, what i am planning is to use fn:doc() inside my xquery transformations directly, without using assign action to load XML.
Also message flow will become somewhat cleaner.
fn:doc() has to be used in a way that it uses relative path to access xml and not complete path (starting from /home/user_doamains/..) because development and production environment domain names are different. Using relative path, code can migrate without any change across environments.
