How to get iTunes to auto delete TV episodes that have been watched?

Never had a problem with this until recently, so I'm wondering if the recent iOS update or iTunes updates changed it.
I buy episodes of TV shows via iTunes. When I sync my iPad, the oldest 5 unwatched episodes of a show are copied to my iPad because I have that setting turned on. At this point in time, the box next to the episode is checked on both my Mac in iTunes and on my iPad because iTunes and both platforms know that the episode has not been watched yet.
So then I watch a few episodes on my iPad. As soon as I finish watching an episode on my iPad, the iPad automatically unchecks the box next to it in the Videos app to signify that it has been viewed.
But the next time I sync, those episodes remain "stuck" on my iPad. ITunes just keeps loading more and more episodes onto my iPod without cleaning up (removing) the episodes on my iPad that it knows I've already viewed.
I've been watching TV shows and listening to podcasts for years on my iPhone, and iTunes always knew to remove "consumed" content from my iPhone during the next sync.
Is the iPad incapable of doing this, or is there some special setting in iTunes that I have to configure?

Test of same issue on iPhone:
After downloading 3 episodes (same show, same episodes) to iPhone, played one. Afterward, it showed as "watched" on iPhone.
Opened iTunes, plugged in iPhone, went to the Movies section on the iPhone, the same episode showed as unplayed when the TV shows area was selected under the iPhone in the left hand sidebar, AND when click right on the iPhone Device and going to the TV Shows panel (but this was probably because the iPhone hadn't yet been synced).
During sync: it correctly UNchecked the watched episode in TV Shows tab with iPhone selected in the Device area in the left hand sidebar of iTunes.
AFTER SYNC: the episode had been correctly REMOVED from the iPhone. THEREFORE, the problem is not with the iOS per se, or its implementation on the iPhone. It is with the iPAD!
Further testing seems irrelevant.
Houston, we have a problem—and it's with iOS 4.3 on the iPad.
If someone could please test this on their iPad 1 or 2 and report back, that would be a huge help. Because there's always the possibility that my iPad hardware is in some way broken and that THAT is the problem.

That would be by far the best solution. And it would make the backup easier. You could include the "Aperture" drive in your Time Machine backup. With the original files stored on your Time Machine volume there is no way that Time Machine could back them up.
Use Disk Utility to format the new drive "MacOS X Extended (Journaled)".
Set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. (select the drive in the Finder, use "File > Get Info ⌘I)
In the "Get Info" panel your drive should look like this:

i used to be able to just clear all the music away and sync in a whole new set of songs..

You are not getting the same screen as you used to sync them to your iPad ? e.g. if you select the iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your Mac's iTunes (option-command-S enables the sidebar) then on the right-hand side of the screen the last tab should be Photos :
If the tab isn't showing then is your iTunes screen wide enough for the tabs to fit ?
To delete all synced photos try selecting an empty folder on that tab and sync that.

Let me rephrase that. They can't unless they had physical possession of your phone and installed spyware on it.

Hi,
You can not get these details from query builder as it does not record the action (e.g. View) that is performed on a particular object, this is recorded only in Audit database.
You would need to enabled auditing and create a report on audit database to get the required information.
There is lot of information available on SCN for auditing, searching the forum might help.

How to - delete physical files that have been removed from library

Hello,
I have recently purged my iTunes library from unwanted music tracks. However, most of those tracks were located in various folders on my harddisk, thus not managed by iTunes (not being on the "My Music\Itunes" folder).
I would now like to somehow delete those files that are still on my harddisk. I've searched if there's a script around, but with no luck. What I'd like to do is to have a script that parses my library xml file, and that compares it with the files still present on the harddisk but not listed in iTunes, so that it either generates a list of files to delete, or automatically deletes those files.
Once this will be done, I plan to move all my remaining music to a new HDD, but before doing that I will need to clean the mess.

P.S. : I thought of making a new iTunes lib, to import all, and then to somehow run a diff program to remove duplicate items. Does that makes sense ?

Don't know of any script to do this.
If the songs are not in iTunes (you deleted them) and they are not in the iTunes music folder, you will need to search & delete them yourself.
You could do a Windows search the HD for all music and sort by location (In Folder), then delete everything not in the iTunes music folder.
Or move everything not in the iTunes folder to a folder on the desktop, then sort it out from there.

It means that you'll either have to use the Adobe DNG converter and convert your RAW files to DNG first, or upgrade to CS6, or use Lightroom to export (TIFF) to Photoshop.
I used the DNG converter for years before finally upgrading Photoshop. It was an extra step, but it just became part of my workflow - put card into reader, download RAW files, go grab a beer, batch convert to DNG, drink beer, edit in Photoshop. But had I known about how powerful Lightroom was I would have switched over to LR long before and just used that to export to Photoshop when necessary.

Assuming then, that you are in the UK, change to the UK store. Click on the US flag icon at the bottom of the iTunes window and the "choose your country" window appears.

How do you delete photo albums that have been syned to your iPhone when you don't know how they got there anyway?

Somehow when I synced my iPhone last week, it added albums of photos from I guess previous syncs and now I have all theses albums on my phone I do not want on my phone. I have tried to figure out how to delete them but can't. And it is taking up a lot of space. How do I get them off my phone and make sure they don't sync on there again?

I didn't have that selected before because it never did it before but for some reason it has become checked. I have unchecked it and, lo and behold, after syncing twice, they are gone from mu phone!!! You totally rock!! thank you so much!

I had my friend start me up on my iPad with a credit card that is from Canada and now she wants to remove it and I'd like to put my fiancé's credit card in there from America it won't let me change stores from Canada to America they said that there's something I downloaded TV show wise that will not let me change the credit card number. I would like to erase all of the TV shows that I downloaded that might be stuck that they're waiting for more to downloaded. You have to have a valid credit card that is registered to an address in which that credit card is issued. So if you want to use the U.S. App Store or iTunes store on your iPad, your credit card must be a U.S. registered card with a U.S. Billing address.
If you want to change the store to the U.S. store, go iTunes and tap the Music tab. Swipe down to the bottom of the screen and tap on the ID in the lower left corner. If your friend's ID is showing you have to sign out of that ID and sign in with your own. After you are signed in to your account. Tap View Apple ID. Enter your password. Swipe down to Country/Region and you can change to the U.S. store in there. You can also edit the credit card information in there as well to add your credit card.

I migrated firefox and other applications to my new mac so that I would not to reenter all of my passwords saved by firefox. However, it appears that the java applets were also transfered and one of these applets does not work with the new intel mac. I was able to get the same applet to work in safari, and I was able to delete the applet from safari as well, but was unable to do so in firefox.
So, how do I clear all of the previously downloaded applets, or even better, just the one I want to? Clearing all of the recent history didn't work.

How do i open iPhoto library to see photos that have been edited?

All my photos and changes to photos are apparently utomatically saving to iphoto library. How do i see these photos? Can i right click iphoto library and open and view the photos both edited and unedited?
Then can i save those photos to a flash drive or another folder?
As most of you know, if you double click on iphoto library, iPhoto will just open which is why its tough to find out where these actual files are.

There are no edited photos, essentially.
When you make a change to an image that decision is recorded in the database. So the edit is actually the Original photo+the change. To actually get an edited photo you need to export it.
There are two main ways to do this:
1. Using the File -> Export command which has a large number of options for what and where to export.
2. Use a Media Browser - this produces a file with the current version of the image.
So, if you're using Powerpoint you access the iPhoto images from Powerpoint via the Media Browser. You access this in PP by using the Insert menu.
