How to get lov display value dynamically for an item according to date pick

Hi friends,
I have a date picker item called on_date, and also one lov item course_name
If i select one date from the date picker item means, automatically the course name corresponding to the date has to populate in the course_name item lov.
suppose if i select the date (21-06-2011) from the date picker item means and if there are two courses available for the date in the table
that is *) APEX *)OAF means, then the course_name item lov should show APEX and OAF in the select list.
How to acheive it.
I tried it in the way by creating a dynamic action for the date item
True Action: set value
Sql Expression:
select course_name from xx_trg_course_detail where :P2_ON_DATE between effective_start_date and effective_end_datepage item to submit: P2_ON_DATE
Affected element: P2_COURSE_NAME
it is working if i kept the course_name item as a text field instead of LOV item.
But i need to show the corresponding courses in the lov for the course_name item soon after selecting the particular date from the date picker.
This is the LOV definition that i gave for the course_name item
select course_name r, course_name d from xx_trg_course_detail where :P2_ON_DATE between effective_start_date and effective_end_datewhat is the problem over here.
Thanks

Mini

Hi friends,
One of my batch mate corrected this problem, by setting
cascading LOV parent item: P2_ON_DATE
page items to submit       : P2_ON_DATE
By specifying the date picker item name in the above fields for the item COURSE_NAME.
Now if i select the date from the picker means, the lov item course_name is getting changed as it is showing only the courses of the respective dates.
Thanks

    How to get procedure paramater value if the parameter name is stored in a text variable?

    Q2: how to get value of procedure parameter which name is stored in a text variable?

    thanks for help

    Let me explain it again what I need using different words.
    I need to write an universal code which will be able to identify name and value of parameters of called procedure/function.
    It means I do not want to hardcode the list of all procedure/function parameters into one command DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('p_par1 is '||p_par1||', p_par2 is '||p_par2.....) placed as first statement of a monitored procedure/function.
    If a new verison of the same procedure/function having one additional parameter is compiled I would not need to modify the first command of the procedure/function to show name and value of the additional parameter because it would be done dynamicly.
    SQL> create or replace procedure procedure1(p_par1 varchar2, p_par2 varchar2) IS
    2 begin
    3 for v_col in (select * from USER_ARGUMENTS where OBJECT_NAME = $$plsql_unit order by position)
    loop
    4 DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('column_name : ' || v_col.ARGUMENT_NAME);
    5 end loop;
    6 end;
    7 /
    Procedure created.
    SQL> set serveroutput on size 10000
    SQL> begin
    2 procedure1('par1','par2');
    3 end;
    4 /
    column_name : P_PAR1
    column_name : P_PAR2
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    How can I get value of the procedure parameters if the parameter's names are stored in a text variable?

  • How to get the display value of selected item in list box?

    I have a page with an HtmlSelectOneListbox that is filled with an ArrayList of SelectItem objects.
    The SelectItem objects contain a Key and Value. The Value is displayed in the ListBox.
    The value parameter of the listbox is bound to a bean property which is called selectedListItem.
    The bean property selectedListItem contains the Key of the SelectItem that is selected.
    How do I obtain the Value of the selectedListItem?
    I need to be able to get the Value field that is displayed, not just the Key to the item that is displayed.

    How are you filling in the value of the menu? Obtain it back by the same way. Or pass it along the key in a object.

  • How to refresh lov displayed value

    Hi,
    I have a POPUP LOV (which displays a numeric id and description) and it has cascading parent LOV. When I change the value in the parent LOV the child LOV is populated with new values and that is OK. But, I also want to automatically select some value from that LOV according to some rule. How can I do this? I tried with dinamic actions "set value" but only the session value of the item changes and the popup stays the same (no value selected).
    Thanks

    I wonder if more people agree with your statement that this would be the natural thing to do.
    Everybody knows Excel, and wants Excel behaviour. This behaviour is just like Excel. You search for 2251343000 in a formatted column, not 2,251,343,000. It's way easier to type 2251343000 on the numeric keyboard.
    (Just tried if you can filter on a unformatted hidden column somehow, but that doesn't seem to work. Sorry, no solution from me then.)

  • How to get message Target value exceeded for value contract in consignment

    Hi Gurus,
    I have created a value contract in consignment process.
    When the TOTAL VALUE of the release orders exceed the TARGET value of the value contract, system is NOT alerting me with message "Target Value Exceedded".
    In normal value contracts, system throws error message while creating release order if target value is exceeded.
    How such message can be generated in case of consignment process?
    Is there is any configuration involved for item category 'K' for this requirement?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
    Those messages are already configured and they are working fine for my normal contracts.
    I need such messages for value contracts in consignment process (item category 'K').
    As there is  no net price in consignment PO, such messages are not generated even though required messages are already configured.
    Is there any other thing I need to do for CONSIGNMENT process

    but I didn't find in the help the method allowing to get any value of the step variables.
    Any idea? Thank you

    Hi,
    You obtain a reference to your step as an PropertyObject.
    Using this PropertyObject reference you can use the PropertObject.GetValString|GetValNumeric|GetValBoolean.
    Hope this helps.

  • Get the display values of a multi selection listbox

    Hello, I am creating a visual jsf project and I have a multi selection listbox component. I have bound this component with a table of my database. For the value of the listbox's items I use the "id" field of the table, and for the display value I use the "name" field. I know that with the method getSelectedValues() I get the values "id" of the listbox, but what I want is to get the display values of the selected items of the list box. How do I do that?I have tried this code:
    Object[] selectedareas=getSessionBean1().getAreas();
    String[] mySelections=getSessionBean1().getAreas();
    selareas=areasDataProvider.findAll("id", selectedareas);
    for(int i=0;i<selectedareas.length;i++){
    some= (String) areasDataProvider.getValue(areasDataProvider.getFieldKey("are_name"), selareas[i]);
    but I get an java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0 error. Any suggestions?Thank you in advance!

    The way I get it in my <f:selectItems> is by binding my multi select listbox, with my database. So what the code is on my jsp page is:
    <f:selectItems binding="#{addcases.multiSelectListbox2SelectItems}" id="multiSelectListbox2SelectItems"value="#{addcases.languageDataProvider.options['language.id,language.lang_name']}"/>and I don't know how to work from here..

  • How to get the return value of a LOV item using javascript

    Hello,
    I am trying to put an onchange attribute in the HTML Form Element Attributes field of a LOV item. The javascript should access the new return value of the item. How is this done ? All the methods I have tried give only the display value, not the return value. For example $v() returns the display value.
    Tiina

    If your item is called P1_ITEM this will give you the return value of a popup (displays description,returns key value)
    alert($x('P1_ITEM_HIDDENVALUE').value)

  • How to get all the values from the dropdown menu

    How to get all the values from the dropdown menu
    I need to be able to extract all values from the dropdown menu; I know how to get all those values as a string, but I need to be able to access each item; (the value in a dropdown menu will change dynamically)
    How do I get number of item is selection dropdown?
    How do I extract a ?name? for each value, one by one?
    How do I change a selection by referring to particular index of the item in a dropdown menu?
    Here is the Path to dropdown menu that I'm trying to access (form contains number of similar dropdowns)
    RSWApp.om.GetElementByPath "window(index=0).form(id=""aspnetForm"" | action=""advancedsearch.aspx"" | index=0).formelement[SELECT](name=""ctl00$MainContent$hardwareBrand"" | id=""ctl00_MainContent_hardwareBrand"" | index=16)", element
    Message was edited by: testtest

    The findElement method allows various attributes to be used to search. Take the following two examples for the element below:
    <Select Name=ProdType ID=testProd>
    </Select>
    I can find the element based on its name or any other attribute, I just need to specify what I am looking for. To find it by name I would do the following:
    Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("ProdType","SELECT","Name")
    If I want to search by id I could do the following:
    Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("testProd","SELECT","ID")
    Usually you will use whatever is available. Since the select element has no name or ID on the Empirix home page, I used the onChange attribute. You can use any attribute as long as you specify which one you are using (last argument in these examples)
    You can use the FindElement to grab links, text boxes, etc.
    The next example grabs from a link on a page
    Home
    Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("Home","A","innerText")
    I hope this helps clear it up.

  • How to get LOV from list of LOVs?

    Hi Everybody,
           I have one object which contains 3 LOVs. I can get the first and last values by using MIN() and MAX() functions . How can I get the middle value.?
    My object is of Date() datatype and the LOVs are like 9/15/09.
    Regards,
    Vasu.Ch.

    Hi Vasu,
    I'm not sure I understand your requirement. You have a list of values related to a Date type object. Using MAX will give you the latest date from this list and MIN will give you the earliest date. This you can achieve. However, you'd also like the "middle" date as well. What is you definition of the middle for date? Do you mean the date between the min and max dates?
    If so, you could try:
    = MIN([Date]) + ( (DaysBetween(MIN([Date]);MAX([Date]))) / 2 )

  • How to get the viewrow value by string

    Using Jdev11.1.1.5.0-adfbc-ireport3.0.0
    here i'll describe: what i did.
    am using jsff(dynamic region) while hitting the af:tree nodes it will opens. ok fine
    i had somevo with manually wroten query. and query is fine no problem with that
    here i give sample not a original query
    select * from sometable where acctid = :pacctidi drag and drop the pacctid from corresponding execute params vo as selectoncechoice
    static vo
    Data value - account payable , advance
    Data Name - ap,ad
    in that jsff
    *page representation*
    account type :   account payable (ap) - select one choice type
                            advance           (ad) - select one choice type
    like this some select once choice and some inputs.
    Run report - command button
    .jsff code

    ADF7,
    I'm not sure I understand what you are up to.
    As far as I understand you want to get the display value instead of the index
    I use this code
        public void StatusChangedListener(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)
            BindingContext lBindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();
            BindingContainer lBindingContainer = lBindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
            JUCtrlListBinding list = (JUCtrlListBinding) lBindingContainer.get("Status");
            int newindex = (Integer) valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
            Object row = list.getDisplayData(); // Wichtig um die liste zu laden!!!!
            Row lFromList = (Row) list.getValueFromList(newindex);
            Object lAttribute = lFromList.getAttribute("Value");
            String newVal = (String) lAttribute;
        }to get the value from a selectOneChoice component...

  • How to get the selected value in SelectOneMenu in backing bean

    Hello all,
    I need your help. I want to have 2 select menus with the second menu's items list are populated based on the selection in the first menu. I don't know how to get the selected value in the backing bean so that I can based on that select menu to populate the second menu's item list. Basically I need to access to the UI Component of the first select Menu and retrieve its selected value.
    Could you help me out?
    Thank you very much in advance,
    Lngo

    Hi Lingo,
    There r two ways of getting the values into the list. First one is hardcoding the values and the second one is use the list and get the values into the list by firing a query in the database.
    Inorder to display the values in the second menu based on the first onces selection we need to add an attribute to the first selectonemenu known as valueChangeListener and we need to sumit the page.
    Here is the sample code
    <h:selectOneMenu id="catalogue"
                                  binding="#{urbean.catalogue}" onchange="submit()"
                                  valueChangeListener="#{urbean.categoryValueChange}"
                                  <f:selectItem itemLabel="Select Catalogue" itemValue="" />
                                  <f:selectItems value="#{urbean.catalogueList}" />
    </h:selectOneMenu>
    <h:selectOneMenu id="category"
                                  binding="#{urbean.category}">     <f:selectItem itemLabel="Select Category" itemValue="" />
                                  <f:selectItems value="#{urbean.categoryList}" />
                                  <                         </h:selectOneMenu>
    now in method called by valuechangelistener we need to write the similar code
    public void categoryValueChange(ValueChangeEvent event) {
    String rfnum = (String) event.getNewValue();
    List categoryList = new ArrayList();
    List tempList = new TablenameDAO().getActiveCatByCatalogueID(rfnum);
              for (int i = 0; i < tempList.size(); i++) {
                   Tablename tablename = (Tablename ) tempList.get(i);
                   String value = "" + tablename .getrfnum();
    String label = tablename .getname();
         if (label == null) {
                   label = "";
                   SelectItem item = new SelectItem(value, label);
                   categoryList.add(item);
              bean.setCategoryList(categoryList);
    ///getActiveCatByCatalogueID (rfnum) should bring the records which r based on the rfnum
    if u follow this process i am damsure that u will get the values in to the secondlist based upon the first list
    Thanks & Regards
    Manidhar
