How to get machine IP in Oracle Forms 10g.

I am using Oracle 10g form builder
i need to get the client machine IP into a +(display Item)+ using webutil, i tried to used several codes but always am getting a null (empty) value in the box
also i used sys_context package but i got the application server address only!!
can anyone kindly help me in How to get the client client machine IP in Forms 10g.
FYI* i had reviced webutil configuration after installation of 10g and i test the libarary in reading and writing image

This is from online help about FRM-40735:
Cause: Application design error. The current trigger raised an exception (other than FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE), but it did not handle the exception. Action: Rewrite the trigger text to handle the exception.
So, check your code.
I have a form in which I use statement I gave you and everything is ok.

This tells me you are using a 3rd party or locally developed Java Bean to perform some type of print function. Is this correct?

Thank you for your reply. I was reading on the metalink that we could use the to call the java script from oracle Forms 10g (Doc ID 265863.1)
Example:
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('javascript:void(window.open("http://www.oracle.com","","location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,status=no,"));self.close()','_blank');
I tried it but it did not open the any window as it claims. Am I missing anything? Is there any IE related setting which I need to modify for the above to work?

In case you want to open a .cmdrw with its associated application you can use the following procedure:
webutil_host.NonBlocking( 'rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler ' || client_filename );This works for every file where a program has been associated to its file extension. (Adobe Reader for *.pdf, Microsoft Word for *.doc, Microsoft Excel for *.xls and so on)

How to generate excel file in oracle forms 10g on client machine

dear Sir,
I am using just file server(installed 10g dev suite) not a oracle application server,
I am running my application from another machine ,it running fine i want to generate excel report on client machine
presently i m using OLE2 for fetching the data in excel , it is working fine but it generates the excel file on file server machine and i want get the output excel on the client machine. aftre OLE2 i m using CLIENT_OLE2 with webutil (instead of OLE2) its get compile successfully but during runtime it give error "oracle.forms.webutil.ole.OleFunctions bean not "found.CLIENT_OLE2.create_obj will not work"
*so please tell me without oracle application server is this possible or not .*

your webutil on server side is not configured
you need to re install the webutil jacob.dll files etc. then it will work fine..
you can also generate excel file using reports to change the destination format in SPREADSHEET

How to select local printer using oracle forms 10g

We have developed ERP solution in oracle 10g forms & reports. and deployed on web using oracle apllication server 10g. I need help when we are giving print from oracle forms directly it goes to server default printer. instead we want
to select local printer installed on client terminal.

Could anyone can tell how to handle the LOV error in blocks as no data is there in db..while clicking on button, the LOV message is getting continously and its not allowing me to close the screen, this makes me to forcefully close the applicaiton...

You should ask this in the Forms forum (this is the Reports forum) and when doing that, mention your Forms version etc. Also, explain what you mean by this:
LOV error in blocks as no data is there in dbWhat error do you get? An LOV can return no records without a problem, so you probably did not use standard LOV funtionality.

Hello I want to make a login form wher a database user will connect to the application and other forms.
Must note that I have database users for login like hr, scott etc.I dont want to make users in a just table.
I want to show a beatifull screen which will be our main form and there will be a login button then a user will put its credentials and then dashboard will be open.

i have cretaed a form xyz.fmx with a button , i wrote in when-button-pressed and also attached the default webutil.pll(which is in forms path) library in attached-library section
Client_host('cmd c/ shutdown -i');
but my problem is that when i run the form i am getting error that
FRM-40039: Cannot attach library webutil.pl while opening form xyz.fmx.
Cause: The given library is attached to the form but
cannot be located in the search path for PL/SQL libraries.
Action: Make sure that the given library can be found
and that it has read permissions set.
Level: 99
Type: Error
i think i have to configure the webutill.pll but i don't how to configure

Oracle Form 10g Template

Hi,
Does anybody can tell me where I can get a copy of Oracle Forms 10g Template?
Does the filename still Template.fmb?
which directory I can find it?
When I run the Form Builder 10g I notice that the standard Triggers in
Form6i in Form Level are no longer available in Form10g. I just curious
if I got the right install or not?

Jun,
A template is one form you created to base others on it.
I may contains alert boxes, triggers, object groups, etc, every objects need in all the forms of your application.
I do not think there is any template.fmb shipped with the installation.

I am interested to trace my running oracle forms application. When I googled it, I got below useful information. But theory and practical has mismatch somewhere, I am not able to create the trace file(s).

How to Enable Tracing in Oracle Forms 10g
Enable Tracing from the url by adding the following to your forms url:
&record=forms&tracegroup=0-98,100-199 (note: item 99 causes some issues, so we are skipping it here. See the Oracle documenation for a description of what is being traced for each item.)

You will get a trace file in the following location:
%ORACLE_HOME%\forms\trace\forms_xxx.trc where xxx is the forms session ID.
Open dos window and do the following:

you will get a file html_xxx.html in your %ORACLE_HOME%\forms\trace directory.

How to get absolute path of a form within the Forms 6i or 9i
For example
i am running a from "abc.fmx" from C:\myfolder directory
can i get the form path 'C:\myfolder' by calling any any function from "abc.fmb"

There is no direct call that will always work. What you need to do is call get_application_property(current_form). This may have the full path in it, depending on if that path was defined when the form was launched. If there is no path, then you need to use TOOL_ENV.GETVAR to read the Forms<nn>PATH and the ORACLEPATH, parse those out into individual directories and then check for the FMX in each.

How to copy a line in Oracle Forms

Hi Experts,
We have a custom form, where there is a tabbed canvas under which few context canvases are there. Some fileds are there in each context canvas under the tab canvas.
my requirement is to copy the line to a new line, so that all values in each tab gets copied to the new line.
Can anyone let me how to acheive this in oracle forms 10g?

How to get a values from one form to another form

I am using oracle forms 10g.
I have created two forms. First form named as Hotel reservation req and second form named as Hotel Res Summary.
I the first form i have one field named Requisition_number and I have one button and when i press the button in the first form the summary form is called and it need to bring all the data regarding that requisition_number in first form.
I have written a query in when button pressed Like this

However, if it is only your Hotel Reservation and Hotel Res Summary forms that will use the REQUISITION_NUMBER then use a Parameter List instead. Global variables are always of type CHAR so you could encounter conversion errors if you don't explicitly cast the value to the correct data type. Parameter object can be of type CHAR, NUMBER and DATE and offer greater flexibility. If you need an example of how to use a parameter list, open the Forms Help system, go to the Search tab and search on "Creating a Parameter List." This article give a brief overview and a list of all the built-ins associated with Parameter Lists. You will need to create a Parameter object in your Hotel Req Summary form to catch the parameter passed via the Parameter List. Then you will need to write code to do something with the value passed (usually in the When-New-Form-Instance trigger).
