How to get one column value from a DOCUMENT TYPE attribute
Hi,
I have created a DOCUMENT TYPE attribute which queries from a table and all the column values( For Ex: Customer Name, Contact Name and Address) are displayed in the message body.
I want one column value(For Ex: Customer Name) to be displayed in the SUBJECT of the message.
How can this be done? Please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Matt. I have used SETITEMATTRTEXT to get a single column value into an ITEM ATTRIBUTE.
Please see the following procedure...
==========================================================
PROCEDURE MisNotifyDataDesk(
itemtype IN VARCHAR2
, itemkey IN VARCHAR2
, actid IN NUMBER
, funcmode IN VARCHAR2
, resultout OUT VARCHAR2
) IS
p_Cart_Id VARCHAR2(30);
p_ORG_NAME VARCHAR2(360);
BEGIN
IF funcmode != WF_ENGINE.ENG_RUN THEN
wf_log_pkg.string(5,'Notify_Cust_Data_Desk','Not in RUN mode');
RETURN;
END IF;
p_Cart_Id := WF_ENGINE.GetItemAttrText ( itemtype => itemtype
, itemkey => itemkey
, aname => 'CART_ID' );
p_code_position := 10;
SELECT
ORG_NAME
INTO
p_ORG_NAME
FROM
MISIBE_END_CUST_DETAILS
WHERE
QUOTE_HEADER_ID = p_Cart_Id;
-- For TEXT BODY
WF_ENGINE.SETITEMATTRTEXT(itemtype => itemtype , itemkey => itemkey , aname => 'ORG_NAME',avalue => p_ORG_NAME);
resultout := WF_ENGINE.ENG_COMPLETED||':'||CUST_DATA_CHECK(p_Cart_Id);
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
WF_CORE.context (
'WFCustCheck',
'MisNotifyDataDesk',
itemtype,
itemkey,
TO_CHAR(actid),
funcmode,
SQLERRM
RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR (-20005, SQLERRM);
===========================================================
I am using &ORG_NAME in the body and subject of my message. But the value is
not retrieved into the ITEM ATTRIBUTE when I run my process. It is just displaying in the message and the subject of hte message as "&ORG_NAME"
CUST_DATA_CHECK used in the resultout, is a function which returns 'T' or 'F'. That part is working fine. Just retrieving the ORG_NAME in the ITEM ATTRIBUTE is not working.
Am I going wrong somewhere? Please let me know.
Thanks,

How to get the column values from a BC4J View Table in UIXML?
I am using a default UiXML Application for Order Entry system with Orders & Order Lines & Customers. I have a uix file OrdersView1_View.uix which displays (no updateable columns) all the Orders. How do I get the column value of a selected row in a BC4J Table (example:OrdersId) when a Submit button is pressed using UIXML or Java Classes?
I appreciate any help on this.Hi,
You need to use keyStamp, an example:
<bc4j table name="orders">
<bc4j:keyStamp>
<bc4j:rowKey name="key" />
</bc4j:keyStamp>
Furthermore, you can automatically send the selected row key using the go event handler, so in the handlers section you could send the key to an orderInfo page:
<event name="show">
<!-- forward to the update page, passing
the selected key as a page property -->
<ctrl:go name="orderInfo" redirect="true">
<ctrl:property name="key">
<ctrl:selection name="orders" key="key" />
</ctrl:property>
</ctrl:go>
</event> -
How Can I get multi column values from dynamic search help?
Hi Gurus;
I'm using dynamic search help in my program.
I want to get multi column values from search help. But I dont know solution for this issue.
I'm using F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM.
How Can I get multi column values from dynamic search help?
Thanks.Believe it or not, the same FM worked for me in a dynpro. I will try to explain here how it works in custom screen and then you can do your work for other screens or program types. I am not going to write my actual work but will explain in general.
I have 4 fields (FLD1, FLD2, FLD3, FLD4) and i made the search based on FLD2 and when user click on a line (could be any field), then this would bring the line on to the screens.
There are like 3 steps.
You have your value_tab for my fields FLD1, FLD2, FLD3 and FLD4. This is just the data that we pass into the FM. (data: IT_VALTAB type table of ZVAL_TABLE)
Next map the screen fields into an internal table (data: It_dynpfld type table of dselc ). I also have other internal tables defined (just to keep it straight, i will be putting here) data: It_return type standard table of ddshretval.
Next step is to call the function module. Make sure you have values in IT_VALTAB.
call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
exporting
retfield = 'FLD2'
value_org = 'S'
tables
value_tab = It_VALTAB
return_tab = It_return
dynpfld_mapping = It_dynpfld
exceptions
parameter_error = 1
no_values_found = 2
others = 3.
if sy-subrc <> 0.
message id sy-msgid type sy-msgty number sy-msgno
with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
else.
perform get_selected_fields tables It_return.
endif.
The code within the perform GET_SELECTED_FIELDS - We need to map the result fields after user selects it. The code goes like this. This is step is to update the dynpro fields.
I need a internal table as well as a work area here. like,
data: lt_fields type table of dynpread,
la_fields type dynpread.
field-symbols: <fs_return> type ddshretval.
so fill out LT_FIELDS from the IT_RETURN table
loop at lt_return assigning <fs_return>.
la_fields-fieldname = <fs_return>-retfield.
la_fields-fieldvalue = <fs_return>-fieldval.
append la_fields to lt_fields.
clear: la_fields.
endloop.
Call the FM to update the dynpro
call function 'DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE'
exporting
dyname = sy-repid
dynumb = '1002' "This is my screen number. You could use 1000 for selection screen (hope so)
tables
dynpfields = lt_fields
exceptions
invalid_abapworkarea = 1
invalid_dynprofield = 2
invalid_dynproname = 3
invalid_dynpronummer = 4
invalid_request = 5
no_fielddescription = 6
undefind_error = 7
others = 8.
if sy-subrc <> 0.
message id sy-msgid type sy-msgty number sy-msgno
with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
endif.

hi
i am new to programming... i would like to know how to get the column values... i have a resultset object
i need code .... asap
thnx@OP: It is always good to type complete sentences and describe your problem at length. It helps in letting people know what you really need instead of making wild guesses or silly jokes. You post mentions that you get the ResultSet. Then you should look up the API docs for java.sql.ResultSet and take a look at the getxxx() method signatures. Use the ones which suit the specific case.
Besides, it is good to refrain from using asap and urgent. Even if something is urgent to you, it need not be urgent to others. Wording a question properly would attract better replies.
Finally, would you mind getting down to specifics of your problem? From what I perceived, the JDBC tutorial and the API docs should provide all the information you need. -
How to get all the values from the dropdown menu
How to get all the values from the dropdown menu
I need to be able to extract all values from the dropdown menu; I know how to get all those values as a string, but I need to be able to access each item; (the value in a dropdown menu will change dynamically)
How do I get number of item is selection dropdown?
How do I extract a ?name? for each value, one by one?
How do I change a selection by referring to particular index of the item in a dropdown menu?
Here is the Path to dropdown menu that I'm trying to access (form contains number of similar dropdowns)
RSWApp.om.GetElementByPath "window(index=0).form(id=""aspnetForm"" | action=""advancedsearch.aspx"" | index=0).formelement[SELECT](name=""ctl00$MainContent$hardwareBrand"" | id=""ctl00_MainContent_hardwareBrand"" | index=16)", element
Message was edited by: testtestThe findElement method allows various attributes to be used to search. Take the following two examples for the element below:
<Select Name=ProdType ID=testProd>
</Select>
I can find the element based on its name or any other attribute, I just need to specify what I am looking for. To find it by name I would do the following:
Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("ProdType","SELECT","Name")
If I want to search by id I could do the following:
Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("testProd","SELECT","ID")
Usually you will use whatever is available. Since the select element has no name or ID on the Empirix home page, I used the onChange attribute. You can use any attribute as long as you specify which one you are using (last argument in these examples)
You can use the FindElement to grab links, text boxes, etc.
The next example grabs from a link on a page
Home
Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("Home","A","innerText")
I hope this helps clear it up. -
How to get the return values from a web page
Hi all :
how to get the return values from a web page ? I mean how pass values betwen webflow and web page ?
thank you very much

Edited by: jingying Sony on Apr 15, 2010 6:18 AMHi,
What kind of web page do you have? Do you have possibility to for example make RFCs? Then you could trigger events (with parameters that could "return" the values) and the workflow could react to those events. For example your task can have terminating events.

How to get one column of ALV table as dropdown by key.
Hi experts,
How can I get one column of ALV table as dropdown and editable. If user wants to change that column value he can just select from that dropdown and click on update button. Can I provide tool tip to that column as " Select from drop down to change the status "?
Please Help.
Thanks,
PratibhaYou just need to change the cell editor of that column in ALV.
So first get access to the alv model object (adjusting the code below for your ALV Component Usage name - mine was ALV_ADV):
DATA: l_ref_cmp_usage TYPE REF TO if_wd_component_usage.
l_ref_cmp_usage = wd_this->wd_cpuse_alv_adv( ).
IF l_ref_cmp_usage->has_active_component( ) IS INITIAL.
l_ref_cmp_usage->create_component( ).
ENDIF.
DATA l_salv_wd_table TYPE REF TO iwci_salv_wd_table.
l_salv_wd_table = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv_adv( ).
DATA l_table TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_config_table.
l_table = l_salv_wd_table->get_model( ).
Then access the column object you want to change:
DATA l_column TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_column.
l_column = l_table->if_salv_wd_column_settings~get_column( 'REGION' ).
Then create the cell editor for DDLB and set it as the new cell editor for this column:
DATA ddlb TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_uie_dropdown_by_key.
create object ddlb
exporting
selected_key_fieldname = 'REGION'.
ddlb->set_tooltip( `Select from drop down to change the status` ).
l_column->set_cell_editor( ddlb ). -
Join to get 'Note' Column value from CS_SR_NOTES_V - Ramya
Hi All,
what is the join to get the 'NOTE' column value from the CS_SR_NOTES_V while joining to the cs_incidents_all _b table.
One join is joining with the INCIDENT_ID of CS_INCIDENTS_ALL_B
to the INCIDENT_ID of the CS_SR_NOTES_V....but the other column 'ID' of
CS_SR_NOTES_V is to join to which column of CS_INCIDENTS_ALL_B ??????APP_OBJ_CODE='SR'
ID IS JTF_NOTE_ID
APP_OBJ_ID IS same AS incident_id
I don't think you need additional join apart from incident_id since view CS_SR_NOTES_V retrieves only SR notes, and an SR can have multiple notes. -
How to get edited row values from ADF table?
JDev 11.
I have a table which is populated with data from Bean.
I need to save changes after user make changes in any table cell. InputText is defined for table column component.
I have defined ValueChangeListener for inputText field and AutoSubmit=true. So when user change value in inputText field, method is called:
public void SaveMaterial(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
getSelectedRow();
SaveMaterial(material);
This method should call getSelectedRow which take values from selected table row and save them into object:
private Row getSelectedRow(){
RichTable table = this.getMaterialTable();
Iterator selection = table.getSelectedRowKeys().iterator();
while (selection.hasNext())
Object key = selection.next();
table.setRowKey(key);
Object o = table.getRowData();
material = (MATERIAL) o;
System.out.println("Selected Material Desc = "+material.getEnumb());
return null;
Problem is that getSelectedRow method doesnt get new (edited) values, old values are still used.
I have tried to use ActiveButton with same method and it works fine in that case. New values are selected from active row and inserted into object.
JSF:
<af:table var="row" rowSelection="single" columnSelection="single"

What is a correct place from where save method should be called to get new (edited) values from ADF table?
Thanks.Did you look into the valueChangeEvent?
It has oldValue and newValue attributes.
public void SaveMaterial(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
Object oldVal = valueChangeEvent.getOldValue();
Object newVal = valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
// check if you see what you are looking for.....
getSelectedRow();
SaveMaterial(material);

How to get the Node Value from XmlValue result?
Hi ,
I am not able to get the Node Value from the result. In my XQuery im selecting till a Node, if i change my query as
collection('PhoneBook')/phone_book/contact_person/address/string()", qc);
im getting the node value, but here the problem is its not a Node so i cannot get the Node name.
So how can i get the Node Name and Node value together?
any help please ????
XML :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<phone_book>
<contact_person>
<name>
<first_name>Michael</first_name>
<second_name>Harrison</second_name>
</name>
<address city="yyyyy" pincode="600017" state="xxxxx">
176 Ganesan street, Janakinagar, alwarthirunagar
</address>
</contact_person>
<phone_number type="mobile">9881952233</phone_number>
<phone_number type="home">044-24861311</phone_number>
<phone_number type="office">080-12651174</phone_number>
</phone_book>
Code:
XmlQueryContext qc = manager.createQueryContext();
XmlResults rs = manager.query
("collection('PhoneBook')/phone_book/contact_person/address", qc);
while(rs.hasNext()){
XmlValue val = rs.next();
System.out.println(val.getNodeName() + " = [ " + val.getNodeValue() + " ] ");
Output
address = [ ]You are right, this seemed un-intuitive to me too, but I finally understood how it's done.
The "value" of a node is actually the total amount of text that is not contained in any of the node's child nodes (if any). So a node with child nodes can still have text value.
To get the 'value' of an element node, you must therefore concatenate the values of all children of type "XmlValue::TEXT_NODE", of that node. Try it.
In your example, the <address> node has no child elements, my guess is that BDB XML stores the address string "176 Ganesan street, Janakinagar, alwarthirunagar" inside a child node of <address> node (of type XmlValue::TEXT_NODE) because you wrote the string on a separate line. -

How to get the selected values from multiselected list
Hi,
I have a multiselect list displaying all the years from 2003 to 2008 (used dynamic LOV). The user can choose one or more years as per his needs, and then when user clicks on the link the selected values of the list are to be captured and a pop up page of a Discoveror report needs to be opened where these years get passed as a parameter. I tried several methods to capture the value, but either one or all are getting passed but not exactly what the user has chosen.
This is how it looks:
P2_FISCAL_YEAR is a multiselect list containing values from 2003,2004... 2008
If user chooses 2004 and 2007
then I want the url to capture these values and pass as parameters for my discoveror reports. as '&qp_fiscal_year=2004,2007'
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance,

How to get only column names from different tables as single table columns
Hi All,
I have one requirement in which we want only column names from different tables.
for example :
I have three tables T1 ,T2, T3 having
col1 clo2 clo3 --> T1 ,
col3 col5 ,clo6 --> T2 ,
Clo6 col8 col9 --> T3
columns i want to get only all Column names from all table as single Resultset not any data from that how can i get that empty resultset
because this empty result i want to bind in datagridview(front end) as Empty resultset
Please tell me anyways to do this
Niraj SevalkarIf I understand you want an empty result set, just with metadata. SET FMTONLY do the trick:
SET FMTONLY ON
SELECT Col1, Col2, Col3, ....., Coln
FROM
T1 CROSS JOIN T2 CROSS JOIN T3
SET FMTONLY OFF
Another alternative is to include an imposible contition
SELECT Col1, Col2, Col3, ....., Coln
FROM
T1 CROSS JOIN T2 CROSS JOIN T3
WHERE 1 = 0
If you are using a SqlDataAdapter in your client application. You can use the FillSchema method. the select command may be any select statement that returns the columns you want. Under the covers FillSchema will call SET FMTONLY ON.
If you are using SqlCommand.ExecuteReader you can pass SchemaOnly to CommandBehavior argument. SET FMTONLY ON is called under the covers. Again the select command may be any select statement that returns the columns you want.
