How to get real html files with forms 6i

I know this may be a repeat question, but this is our context :
We are deploying a heavy Forms6i app to the web. Everything is ok. We're able to run the forms in the MS Internet Explorer 5 native java window, without having to download first Jinitiator (8Mo) on the client.
BUT it takes to much time to initiate the session, this is way to heavy.
Do you know when Forms6i will be able to generate real html files on the fly or any way to have a quicker access to Forms through the web.

1/ Actually most of the customers will use our app through normal 56k modems. Their first connection must avoid to download Jinitiator which is 8Mo, so we don't want people to use Jinitiator (opening the session is even longer with Jinitiator than IE5).
2/ Moreover, the applet window has a grey title line with the word "window" and the name form : this is not internet at all ;-)
3/ A normal connection through a firewall doesn't work with the famous port 9000.

How to associate an uploaded file with form data

I have a "ticketing" app which stores a ticket no. as well as allows users to upload multiple files per ticket. The problem I am having is how to associate an uploaded file with a particular ticket no. As you can guess this becomes complicated when the same user can potentially update multiple tickets using the same file names. I am having difficulty trying to understand how to associate a ticket no with one or more uploaded files. I do have a custom table which I update with the attachments but I am unsure how to, or when to, update the ticket information on this custom table. I only want to retrieve attachments for a given ticket, not all attachments uploaded by a user.Does anyone have any ideas?

How to use an HTML file with Parameters to make an audioClip

I am still working on getting simple sound to work in my program! I have learned that I can use Java.Applet's soundClip object, even when not using an Applet, but I do not know how to work with the URL object. Here is a SCCE so you can see where I am at!
The Java Class:

You should look at Doug's Apple Scripts. There are a couple of ready made AppleScripts there that might well do what you want. I see two or three that export HTML.

How to get generated HTML file to display in new window from FileDownloadActionListener?

Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper version 11.1.1.5.
I have a use case where the user can produce a report upon the click of a command button. They can generate 3 types of reports, HTML, PDF or Excel depending on which option they select in the radio buttons preceding the 'generate report' command button.
The files are created in the background (XML file created based on View Objects which is then transformed using the relevant API for the report type and then produces a file which is held in servers temp directory) and is served out through a FileDownloadActionListener component programmatically, which itself is surrounded by a Command Link with visibility property set to 'false' (as per this blog:http://www.jobinesh.com/2010/01/customizing-execution-of-to-validate.html).
Everything works fine in that the reports generate correctly and after clicking on the 'generate report' button the browser's 'Open/Save' dialog box appears asking the user what they would like to do with the file. I am using Internet Explorer as that is what most of the client users will be using.
The issue I'm having is as follows. For PDF and Excel types when the user clicks on 'Open' the file opens in separate Adobe Reader or MS Excel application windows respectively, which is as expected and required. However, the HTML document opens within the same browser window within which the application is running and from where the 'generate report' button was clicked. The issues this presents is that if the user closes the browser window displaying the report then they will need to open a new window to re-establish connection to the application. If they click the browser 'back' button then it takes them back to the original page but not in exactly the same state as it was before the report was launched i.e. there are some components missing and the page doesn't display correctly.
Is there another way for me to achieve this or is it even possible? I tried setting the 'useWindow' property of the invisible command link surrounding the FileDownloadActionListener to 'true' which didn't work. I tried to surround it with a Go Link instead of a command link but that gave me NullPointerException's, I think because you can only use a component which has an 'Action' property?

I'm not sure if this solution is appropriate to your situation, but I had the same problem with trying to redirect from a commandLink to a new window. In the method that is called by the links action I used the following:

You need to add valuePassThru="true" in your <af:selectOneChoice component. I have personally tested it and got the actual value in alert box. I hope this time you got the real solution. You can also test the following code by your end.

If you're fine with opening html file in a separate browser window, you can use web.show_document.

I can hold the option key at start up and choose my network, then Internet recovery shows up with an arrow pointing up. When I click on the arrow Internet recovery fails and all I get is a globe with a triangle on it with an exclamation mark on it, and under that it says

I had the same error. And i had a Computer that had worked, with a SSD drive and 16GB upgrade done by the owner himself.
I tried swapping with a Mechinal Harddrive, no luck.
Kept the Mechanical drive in, and tried with some other Ram, it worked..
So for me this error and after reading the other responses can be boiled down to a Harddrive problem or Ram issue.
It was Ram for me..

Create a variable of type document and then a service to read the html from where ever it's located. If you put it in LiveCycle, you can use the ReadRessource service. If it's on the file system, you can use the Read Document. If it's in the database, you can use the JDBC service.
Also, one more doubt where should i use this variable in my process to get the same?
You want the response once you've submitted the data, so the html is really the result of calling the process that's processing the data. So I would create an output variable of type document on that process.
Right now it displays a random number in the browser because your submit process is long lived. When a process is long lived (asynchronous), you invoke it and then you get an identifier back. It's kind of a fire and forget. You can use that identifier to check the status of the long lived process, since long lived processes can take hours, days to complete. You don't want your browser to wait that long, hence the identifier.
However if you change the process to be short lived (synchronous), the browser will wait for the result of the process, which really means the output variables for that process. If your output variable contains html, it'll display html.
So the key is make you submit process short lived and populate the output variables appropriately.

Having problems: can't open an html file with textedit to change code

Hi. I have been trying to open up both my index.html and my Welcome.html files with textedit in order to change the HTML codes for them - but it doesn't seem to work. When I open them using text edit I still get a discomboblutaed form of the web page and no html codes. HOWEVER when I open them with Word I can get at the HTML code. Will changing the code in Word work or must I use textedit to do it? ULtimately does anyone know how to fix the fact that your web URL always gets redirected to the home page because of the index file. For Instance, my web site is www.zanzibarhotelbeach.com but when you type that in it redirects to the opening page www.zanzibarhotelbeach.com/Home.html which is a problem for when you want to submit your web site to be found on the net. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Cheers!

Give TextWrangler a try. It's a free editor by the makers of BBEdit and is very well suited for editing HTML.
But as far as your URL in the window, unless you have URL forwarding with masking you will always get the page name at the end of the URL in the browser's window. That's just how it works. With masking you will only get www.zanzibarhotelbeach.com in every window of the site. BUT visitors will only be able to bookmark the first page of your site. Bellow is test csv file i created but does not work:

It looks like the IP address field is incorrectly set.,
It should be as follows
{Device IP},{Device Subnet Mask}, etc etc
so a practical example of the aboove could be (i dont know if this is completely correct after the IP address / Subnet Mask)
