How to get rid of certain sounds?

I'm very new to soundtrack pro so maybe it's a silly question to ask but if I have a very annoying peeping sound in the background of my footage, is there a simple way to get rid of it? It's a part of my film where two characters have a conversation and there is a construction site close by where the sound ensues from. Any help will be appreciated.

Although I don't do much work at all in Soundtrack Pro, I have used it's spectrum analyzer to remove the sound of a bus with really squeaky brakes on a recent project. The tool you're looking for is the Frequency Selection Tool.
Specific instructions can be found in the Soundtrack Pro Users Manual, starting on page 214.

Can you explain more on the "clicking" noise you are hearing? If you mute the computer do you still hear it? It is from the speakers or from the inside of the laptop?

For help on disabling warning tones, check out the user guide on page 112: http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_E63-1_UG_en.pdf
To check the user guide is often a good start when wondering about any setting or how to do stuff... A quick search using the searchbar on this forum is also something to recommend as many problems has already been solved.

  • How to get rid of overlapping sound in imovie

i have a video from youtube that i just put into imovie and i want to figure out the song that is on the video the only problem i have though is that there is a persone talking over the music so im wondering is there a way i can delete the overlapping sound of him talking or a way for me to just make the background sound louder so it overlaps the guys voice instead of the other way around

No, not in iMovie. You could mute the entire sound track and add your own music if you want.

  • How to get rid of the craking sound comming from my speakers

I have creative 4400 4.1 speakers. Whenever i switch them on (without even booting the OS),Small sounds like the ones comming out of old gramaphone disks which resemble like a cracking sound is comming out of my speakers.
can u tell me how to get rid of that sound , Is it a problem or is it natural in speakers.
    -Siva Kumar Reddy.CH.V

If it's happening when they're turned on, but the PC isn't (or there is no source connected to the speakers), then you could try the speakers on another power outlet (in another room perhaps), to check if there's any interference or "dirty power". If there is other electrical equipment around something could be causing interference. It is possible though that there is a hardware fault.

  • Sound Virus - Any suggestions on how to get rid of it

The last couple of days I have sound playing in the background that is not from any program I'm running. Sounds like a **** playing but sound only no video. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

    HI,
If a widget isn't the culprit, open System Preferences/Universal Access and selec the Seeing tab.
Make sure Voice Over is not selected.

drag the BottomRight edge of the region to the left, past the unwanted sound

  • How to get rid of song on phone?

this sounds like the dumbest question, but I can't figure out how to get rid of a certain song on my phone.  It pops up on shuffle all the time, and I know I must have added it to a playlist at some point.
But I have a bunch of long playlists and I cannot find it in any of them!
How can I tell which playlist a certain song is on?
    Thanks
    Bob

OK -- so I actually called AppleCare about this.  I went through 30 minutes on the phone with the entry-level guy, and he couldn't help.  He actually wanted me to check 'manually manage music" and have iTunes wipe my phone, then I was going to have to reselect all my music!  And that would not have even fixed the problem, I know.  He was clueless but thankfully escalated me to a dude who solved this in 30 seconds.
I had to delete the song *from* the phone.  Went to the Music App, under More->Purchased, and swiped left on the song and then could delete it.
So, because I bought the song on the phone, and it wasn't in a playlist, I was not able to remove it from iTunes.  I had to do it on the phone.

  • How to get rid of module snd_hda_codec_atihdmi?

I've got the audio card M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 and the graphics card ATI Radeon HD 3450. So I've got only one audio card, which was always sound card 0 and the default sound card and which shall remain sound card 0 and the default sound card. The graphics card doesn't have an HDMI interface.
Nevertheless I don't have sound anymore (without reconfiguring every audio software), because the module snd-hda-codec-atihdmi.ko is permanently, automatically loaded at boot time and put as sound card 0 and therefore the default sound card.
Putting !snd-hda-codec-atihdmi in the MODULES array of /etc/rc.conf doesn't help. And `rmmod snd-hda-codec-atihdmi` doesn't help either. Then it says, that this module is in use.
Is there a way, how to get rid of this - at least for me - annoying and senseless module?

bgc1954 wrote:One way to do this would be to compile your own kernel and only include support for your M-Audio sound card.  That way the kernel can't drag in support for the atihdmi thingy.  May be your only option if blacklisting and setting the order of your modules doesn't work.
I know this way, but I still hope, that there's another way.

  • In the lefthand sidebar of Finder, under 'Shared', I encounter in addition my TC, another computer, identified by a long name starting with 'hp'. I don't have another computer. What could this be? And how to get rid of it?

In the Finder sidebar, under 'Shared', I encounter my TC, as well as another item with a long name starting with 'hp'. 'Get info' shows it to be a 'PC'. However, I don't have a PC. It cannot be my printer (HP), since that has anoter name.
I can not access the item, which has me a 'guest'.
What could this item be? And how to get rid of it?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
    DB

It's almost certainly your hp printer and is showing the WiFi adapter MAC address after the HP.
To verify, look at the printer configuration page via Bonjour in Safari.  The settings tab shows the Mac address in the bottom left hand corner for my model of HP printer.
I'm sorry but I can't explain why that would show up in the finder.

  • How to get rid of ROWID in Join query -- ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined

    Hi, All
the source of my data block is from two tables Emp and Title. My select statements is:
    select a.name, b.title, b.start_date, b.end_date from Emp a, Title b where a.id = b.emp_id
But at run time, I got "ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined"
    the wrapped statement becomes:
    SELECT ROWID,a.name, b.title, b.start_date, b.end_date from Emp a, Title b where a.id = b.emp_id
I run the query in SQL*PLUS, found out it was ROWID caused problem.
Can anybody tell me how to get rid of ROWID? or I missed something in datablock defination?
    Thanks in adance.
    Deborah

I guess you are using oracle 7.x. In Oracle 8 and onwards, database lets you select ROWID from the views based on multiple views as long as view definition does not contain any aggregated functions or DISTINCT in it. Now coming back to forms ..Forms runtime engine uses ROWID to identify rows uniquely unless specified otherwise. If you are using forms 4.5/5.0 against Oracle 7.x , then change these properties and you should be able to run the form.
    BLOCK PROPERTY
Key Mode : can be either updateable OR Non-updateable
( Certainly not 'Unique' .. That forces forms runtime engine to use ROWID to identify unique rows. )
    ITEM PROPERTY
Identify one of the block items as unique. And then set the following property
    Primary Key : True.
This should take care of rowid problem.
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • How to get rid of 'Your computer's bluetooth firmware is up-to-date' message?

Hi. I just updated the Bluetooth on my iMac (OS X 10.5), but now each time I turn on my computer, this (annoying) message show up: Your computer's bluetooth firmware is up-to-date.
How to get rid of it?
I tried someone's suggestion to turn it off by going to  System Preference > Account > Login Items, but it's not listed there..
Also, is there a way to use FaceTime on my iMac?
    Thanks!

Hello, not sure about the Bloetooth thing, I have none, but it sounds like some file didn't get removed aftrt a BT update.
As far as FaceTime, no, it requires the App Store & 10.6.6...
"To download FaceTime from the Mac App Store, you need a Mac with Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later."
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facetime/id414307850?mt=12&ls=1
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

  • How to get rid of background noise when recording voice on iphone 5 ?

every time i record a voice over i hear wierd background noise can someone tell me how to get rid of it im using my headphones to record btw

Go to System Preferences / Sound and click on the Input button. You should see two items listed in the device menu: the Internal Microphone and Line In. (There may be others if you also are using your USB or Firewire ports for input devices.)
Select Internal Microphone and adjust the Input Volume control to the far left (minimum). This will mute the computer's internal microphone.
Then select the Line-In (or other device) and adjust the input level as needed to make your recording.
    Good luck.
