how to get the query string in jsp page, is there any methods for getting querstring like getString() getParameter() ?
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\ven\build\generated\src\org\apache\jsp\getcustomer_jsp.java:62: getQueryString() in javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest cannot be applied to (java.lang.String)
i am getting error like this , if i used that method, shall i import any packages?

Because adding that bit of text to the page will make the page bigger...
Doing it in java, the best approach would probably to have a filter counting the number of bytes that gets sent to the writer/output stream.
A client side tool measuring the amount of bytes received would probably be easier though.
You can always look at the Content-length header sent with a response. Though you normally don't have access to that on the java/jsp side, as it is sent by the container.

How to get the data in servlet if the request encryption type is multipart/
I am uploading files to the server.
at that time,before upload ,I need to validate the upload file names.
so,i am trying to get the value of those files names using
request.getParameter("jobsheet"); in servlet.
its giving null insted of file path.
how to retrieve the the values of parameters if the request is multipart/form-data.
any help please...I think that package works in struts framework right?
If wrong ,correct me.
actually I am following MVC pattern.not using struts.
If this works even in normal web application also.then ok.

Smile.I'm not sure you can directly access a session bean from JSP.
Although I haven't tried this with sessionBean1, you might try using JSP's useBean tag.
<jsp:useBean id=<localName> type=<classPath> scope=<scope> />localName is the name you want to use to refer to the bean. classPath is the fully qualified class path. scope is either page, request, session, or application.
I use this approach for accessing Java Beans. But before you can use the bean you have to add it as a session attribute. This makes it accessible to the page.

How to get the URL parameter value when navigating from JSP Page to portal
Hi All,
I have web Dynpro application with one button, while clicking that button It will navigate to JSP page as external window. In the JSP page I have a input field and Button.
In the JSP page input field I will enter some values and press submit button, it will navigate to Portal page by passing some URL parameter with values.
Once user entering to portal by default WD page displayed, the same WD page I try to get the URL Parameter which I have passed from JSP page, but I am not able to get the URL parameter value.
If same application running in without portal, I can able to get the URL parameter values. I am getting the URL parameter by interface view default inbound plug parameter.
How do we resolve this problem?

I have two jsp files.
in first jsp,
I am getting the resultset.
I am setting the resultset to the anchor tag.
below is the code...

It will goes to ACSMasterTwo.jsp page for edit the compleate record.

Of course you have to get an id from somewhere in the result set right?

How to get the UserTransaction object in stateless session bean
Hi, I am using jboss server and jdk5 version and using EJB.
My Application flow :
JSP à Action(Struts) à Service Locator à Session bean à Entity Bean(cmp) à DB.
I tried to get the UserTransaction object in my Action. Its my code.
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
UserTransaction uTrans = (UserTransaction) ctx.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction");
After used uTrans.begin(),uTrans.commit() and uTrans. rollback () also.
Its working fine .
But, I used the the same code inside in my session bean its not working.

Its throws the error ie: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: UserTransaction not bound
How to get the UserTransaction object in my session bean. Kindly give solution the above errors.
- Thendralfirst of all, you could just use sessionContext.getUserTransaction(). however, that would only work if your bean is using bean-managed transactions. the default is container-managed transaction, in which case you cannot get a UserTransaction object. if you want to manage transactions, you need to add the TransactionManagementType.BEAN annotation to your ejb.
