How to go fullscreen in windows instead of full display?

I'm trying to find a way to tell Firefox that fulscreen = window size as opposed to my display size. ie, when I have a floating window (not-maximized, taking up only part of the screen) I want Firefox to be contained in that window instead of taking up the full display.
If relevant:
OS = Fedora Rawhide 64bit
Firefox = v31
WM = i3

Would this still apply to your linux version? Maximize button is an option here: [http://linux-update.blogspot.com/2011/03/firefox-4-get-tabs-in-title-bar-like.html]

  • Can I play a slideshow in a window instead of full screen?

    I'm using Keynote for some Webinars and need to be able to display the slideshow in a window instead of full screen. Is there a way to do this? I could just flip through in navigator mode, but it seems the there's no way to make the template type and the white line around them disappear. Either solution would be welcome.
    Thanks!

    Any other ways to not go to full screen? I just want to move through the builds without having to go full screen, since I can't use my Web meeting software at full screen.
    Thanks!

    void maximize() {
    Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
    Insets ins=insets();
    resize(screenSize.width-(ins.left+ins.right)-16,screenSize.height-(ins.top+ins.bottom)-48);

  • How to make the finder window expand to full height AND width of my screen, but not "full screen mode".

    The new green button on the finder window makes the screen go into full screen takeover mode - alt clicking this makes it 100% height of the screen.
    How can I make this 100% width and height (just like it used to be in Mavericks)?
    I have 2 x 27" monitors, so the "full screen takeover" mode is not right as I only want the finder window to be on one monitor whilst I work on another.
    Any ideas?! Thank you!

    Was about to post the same question.
    Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite (about a month ago), this odd behavior has irked me.
    Could it be that it only plagues those of us running dual displays? And therefore nobody else cares?

  • How to have new Safari windows open in full screen?

    Hello,
    I am wondering if it is possible to have new Safari windows take up the full screen. For example, if I click on a link that opens a new window, I would like that new window to take on the fully maximized setting of the window it came from. So even if the website code says the window has to be 50% screen real estate, I would like to be 100% every time automatically.
    Thanks.

    Yet another great thing that Glims can do!
    If you want to fix your Google search to a specific Google location, I recommend that you download and install the free plug-in Glims:
    http://www.machangout.com/
    which not only does that but much more equally useful stuff! (Such as automatically deleting Flash cookies, enabling Safari to run full-screen, and more.)
    (It adds items to Safari Preferences).
    Not only does it already list a number of search engines and regions, but you can also add any other search engine not already listed in Glims by using the method described here:
    http://www.machangout.com/tutorials/addsearchengine
    Just enter the name you give the search engine in the name field, and the URL for it in the Query URL field.
    When you have it, the setting is in Glims Preferences/General

  • How do I make a window expand to full screen?

    I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004 with Windows XP.
    My question is a page from my homepage www.artmanphoto.com
    > Portfolio > Business Portraits then click on the Gallery
    button. When my web designer built my site there was only two
    business portraits and when you clicked on the Gallery button the
    window was smaller and did not expand to a full screen display.
    Tonight I added a third portrait and the window is still smaller
    than the full screen display so you have to use the horizontal
    scroll bar to view all three images or you can click on the Expand
    button in the upper right corner of the screen to make the window
    display full screen. I thought that when I added the third portrait
    the and it was displayed on my website that the window would expand
    to show all three portraits but it didn't.
    Is there a way that I can change something to make the window
    with the three business portraits open to full screen when you
    click on the Gallery button?
    Thanks very much for your help!

    No. Modern browsers are designed to protect users from that
    kind of
    manipulation. Typically, web users don't want their browsers
    windows
    manipulated.

  • Column Link page as a pop up window instead of full page.

    I have set up a column link to pass some variables and see a nice result as a page.
    I would rather see that page show up as a pop up window rather than as a full screen page. Where can I tell my column link to show the page as a smaller version than full screen page please?
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi Tarun,
    Is this code set at the URL TARGET of the button?
    Have you already tried with another browser?
    Try once this way: javascript:popUp2('f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:::',400,300)PS*: When you're going to post any code use as delimiter.

  • Pan and Zoom in a Windows instead of Full Screen?

    Hi,
    Tried using the Pan & Zoom and found it very difficult to work with. I had an image I wanted to be displayed on the screen but I only wanted it to use 1/3 of the screen. I sized the image and then went to pan/zoom. The image re-sized to full screen and then from there I could use the tool. Is there a way to use this tool but have the image remain the same size I set previously?

    protivakid
    What are you now using for pan and zoom? Is it the Premiere Elements 12 Pan and Zoom Tool under Tools Menu?
    For starter, please take a look at the Steve Grisetti free video tutorial on the basics of using the Premiere Elements Pan and Zoom Tool as found in versions 11 or 12.
    http://www.lynda.com/Elements-tutorials/Creating-motion-path-Pan-Zoom-tool/109763/117259-4 .html
    If that does not help, we can go into more details, those specific to your particular requirements.
    If all else fails, you can always go the non Pan and Zoom Tool route for your pans and zooms. To do that, you would keyframe the Motion Scale property (Zoom) and the Position property (Pan). See Applied Effects/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded to reveal its properties which include Scale and Position.
    Please review and consider and let us know what supplemental information you need.
    Thank you.

  • How Can I open Report within the same window instead of separate Window

    Hi All,
    I want to open report in my MDI form instead of opening it into a separate Oracle Report Navigator(i.e. Window which shows the report). How to do that? When I click the Report from Menu it should open it within the MDI Form. Any suggestion or reply would be greatly appreciated.
    One more question is how can i open report with in a maximized state. Actaully, the report will be opened in the normal state. How to open in maximized state instead of normal state. Is there any property in reports to acheive this?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Gopinath Kona

    hello,
    reports is a separate application that is called from forms and therefore is running outside the context of the forms MDI window.
    you can use the commandline parameter MAXIMIZE=YES to start the runtime in full-screen-mode.

  • When I open a new window, it opens behind the exist ing window instead of in front of it. How can I fix this?

    When I click on a link and I choose the option to open link in a new window, it opens behind the currently open window instead of in front of it. This is a real nuisance. Why is this happening, and how do I fix it?

    Hi alanbala,
    There are several possible reasons why the new window opens in the background and not in the foreground by default.
    # another installed program is causing this
    # the Firefox main window is set to Always on Top
    # probably a Windows 7 bug
    # possibly a Firefox bug [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=790013 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=790013]
    What you can do is
    # update your Windows 7 to the latest security patches
    # open Mozilla Firefox in Safe Mode (see KB article [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]])
    # evaluate the other programs installed on your computer
    # open new links on a new tab
    Let us know your progress. I will be following this support thread.

    How do I get firefox 4.0.1 to open in separate windows instead of tabbed browsing? Thanks!

  • When I right-click a link, and choose "Open in new tab", it opens in a new window instead. How can I fix this?

    So I have Firefox open, and I've tried to open tabs by right clicking and choosing "open in new tabs", but it opens in a new window instead. And yes, there are no problems with being able to open new tabs by pressing the ctrl t.

    The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
    There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
    * Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
    * Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

  • How do I hide the address bar when fullscreening "popup" windows?

    Sky TV's video player has a bad fullscreen implementation - you can make the player go true fullscreen but it reverts when it loses focus, so I can't multitask on my two monitors.
    The best workaround I've found is to use their "pop-out" player, which opens a new "popup"-style window (locked address bar, no search bar etc.) and I can then fullscreen the window itself (rather than the player). This allows me to hide
    - the window outline
    - the window title bar
    - the Windows start menu
    and it stays fullscreened when it loses focus.
    However, this does not hide the window address bar. On a normal Firefox fullscreened window this slides out of view after a short time; on the locked "popup" style window it does not.
    On the offchance that treating "popup" windows differently is a deliberate Firefox security policy... can I disable it?

    You only need to select the pop-up window after having opened the Browser Console or open the console before opening the pop-up to make that window the MostRecentWindow.

  • When I key in control-n, how can I get a new window instead of a new tab?

    I would like to get a new window instead of a new tab when I key control-n or when I click on a link. Can I do this?

    '''Hey mickeyten'''
    1 way to do this is that Goto Options > Tabs > Here Uncheck this Option: '''Open a new window in a new tab instead'''.
    This will open a new window each time time for every New Link or New Tab you open.
    Hope this helps you alot.
