How to have sticky column headers in a large list?

I have a list in sharepoint 2013.  It was created from a Microsoft Access database and so it displays like a spreasheat type list.  It is quite large and it would be nice to make the column headers "sticky" so that when you scroll down
the page/list you can tell what the data type (header) is for the data you are looking at.
Kind of like in excel when you do a "split" is what I am looking for .....
Any help greatly appreciated.
Ray

Hi Ray,
Please see this thread which is the same you are looking for.

Please let us know in case you face any issue while implementing this.

    Hi ,
    This functionality was not exposed/supported in WDP ALV,however the same can be achieved in normal table(table UI element)
    The reason this isn't exposed directly in the ALV is because it is used internally when you do a grouped sort.  The ALV automatically buids group headers to explain the grouped sort/sum.
    Depending upon your requirements if you must have the group header and aren't using much else in the ALV, you might be better off using the plain old table. Below is a link to how to do group headers in the table UI element.

    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks

  • How to implement fixed column headers

    Hi Gurus,
    I got a requirement to show a fixed column header in a sql reports. That means no matter how many rows the report returns, when scrolling down, the column headers are fixed and appear on the top.
    Anybody has any comments on this? If I'm not making sense, let me know and I can explain further.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Carl,
    Thanks for responding!
    I just realized that I did not include my name in my prior post, its Kyle, sorry about that. I also do not necessarily have an example code to show you, let me explain:
    I am very much a newbie to the HTML environment. Amazingly, I was able to apply a code that would facilitate a scroll bar in my report. This code was applied to the template called Reports Region in the section entitled Definition, it basically looks like this:
    <style>
    .RegionScroll
    width:950px;
    height:225px;
    overflow:auto;
    border:solid 0px;
    </style>
    My next feat was to figure out how to fix the column headings, here is were….. well basically I guessed. First; I looked at the website describing how to implement this in three steps, to be functional in both IE and Fire Fox. I was not sure exactly were to apply the script provided, so I made a logical guess and dropped it in to the same area as my previous code. When I went to view the page the code line:
    onload="MakeStaticHeader('TableId','150px')"
    showed up at the top of the page (no Java script error presented itself). I concluded that I either have the wrong programming syntax, its in the wrong template and or template section. To complicate matters I have no idea of how to identify the correct TableId. I did look to view the HTML source code of the page, but found several candidates with the prefix "ID=".
    Quite honestly, without a good formal understanding of HTML or CSS programming techniques, I may be biting more off than I can chew. If this is the case then would you be kind enough to point me in some direction that might help me get over this hurdle.
    Thanks again for the response.

  • How to have all columns display in one go in RSA3

    i'm trying to extract the sales order item (2LIS_11_VAITM) thru RSA3 into flat file.
    However, the maximum number of columns is limited to 90 columns ( with a hundreds of hidden fields by default). I don't see the system provide you the user parameter where you can change the output list to ALV grid rather.  Please advise how can I have all the columns displayed in one go ( even if the column header too shorten is fines to me)?

  • How to have repeating columns for SharePoint list

    Hi
    I am working on SharePoint 2013 environment and trying to customize a SharePoint list using infopath form.
    Have a list called "Future Actions" and users need to submit their actions. An user can submit
    n number of Planned actions and every user will submit different number of actions.
    Columns:
    1. Title                                   TEXT
    2. Month                                 Choice
    3. Planned Actions                   TEXT
    I want to capture user's actions in the same form, such that he would have option to expand the
    Planned actions column to add n number of Actions.
    Simply, For one Month, user should be able to define all actions in one form. and the number of planned actions will vary from user to user.

    Hi,
    The OOTB can't provide a feature to meet your requirement.
    Here is a similar thread for your reference:

    In SharePoint 2013, we can also customize a special field type using client-side rendering.

  • How to extract a column out of a large ASCII file?

    Hi all.
    After searching the board and applying several solution approaches my problem still remains. Maybe you can help me.
    The data source i've to deal with are large ASCII files (~540 MB) with 14 columns (delimiter: TAB). Each column represents one channel. The number of characters in each "field" is variable. I have to read user defined columns (=channels) out of each data set. Needless to say that reading the whole file runs into memory problems.
    If anyone has an idea i would be happy
    Thanks in advance.

    Kane

    I hate to defocus you, but there is a more efficient way to do this.  My apologies that I do not have the time to write code, but here is the pseudo code.
    Create an array for your output greater than or equal to what you think you will need.
    Read a 65,000 character chunk from the file (or the rest of the file, whichever is smaller).
    Use the string search functions functions to find successive line ends and the appropriate tab character delimiters for your column.
    Convert and replace the element in your output array.
    When done, trim your output array to the right size.
    If you drop an LVM read, convert it to a regular VI, and dive in, you will see an example of this type of process.  The idea is to keep disk reads, which are very inefficient, to a minimum.  It also minimizes your memory allocations, because you do not need to resize your input buffer for every line.  Problems you will need to deal with (which are handled by the LVM read) are such things as:
    Your line crosses a chunk boundary.
    The end-of-file creates a smaller chunk than 65,000 characters (the optimum chunk size for Win32 systems).
    The end-of-line character is not well defined (in your case, this is probably not an issue)
    Searching for a character can produce memory allocations
    You may want to try reading the data as a U8 array instead of a string and doing your searches on that instead of the string.
    I have always wanted to write the piece of code, but never had the time or reason to do so.  Good luck.  I will try to help if I can.

  • How Do I cahnge lables(column headers) dynamically?

    Hi,
    Dynamically, how do I change column headers based on some other value is the report?
    Thanks

    If the value you want as the column header is in the XML use the element.
    If you want different column headers based on a particular element in the XML then use conditional logic (if or when) wrapped around the column headers to do the selection at run time. See the user guide for examples of conditional processing in the template.

  • JTable Column Headers

    I want to create a JTable so that the table doesn't have any column headers. Right now I am using my own implementation of the AbstractTableModel Class for use with the tables, but if I leave out the public String getColumnName(int col) method, it makes the headers A, B, C, ... and if I set the column headers up with a blank String, it leaves an obvious thin empty header at the top. Any suggestions on how I can completely leave the column headers off?

    call the method on JTable
    table.setTableHeader(null);
    that will do the trick;
    cheers

  • Cross tab column headers display on all pages

    I made a Crystal Report with a cross tab which displays all details. In the cross tab I have 6 columns with details about the data displayed in the last 2 columns. The headers of these columns are only displayed on the first page but not on other pages. How can I add column headers to all pages? Thank you.

    Column headings should be repeated automatically, row headings can be repeated by
    1.right-clicking on the row header
    2. select Row options
    3. .select Repeat Labels on Page break
    or, when I just reviewed it in the help section it says:
    "When you create a Cross-Tab that is wider or longer than the specified page size, the program automatically spans the printing across enough pages to accommodate the size of the Cross-Tab. In the Preview tab, a line will appear at each page break. For ease in reading, column headings will be repeated on subsequent pages. Row headings can also be repeated using the Keep Columns Together option.
    To repeat row labels
    Right-click the blank top-left area of the Cross-Tab and select Cross-Tab Expert from the shortcut menu.
    The Cross-Tab Expert appears.
    Click the Customize Style tab.
    Select the Repeat Row Labels check box, if desired.
    Crystal Reports lets you designate report objects that don't expand horizontally, such as text objects, field objects, OLE objects, charts, maps, lines, boxes, and so on, to be repeated on each additional horizontal page that a Cross-Tab creates. For more information, see Repeating report objects on horizontal pages."

  • Modifying based columns headers in JSP frames

    Using JDeveloper 3.1, I' have generated a JSP project based on a data module. However, I haven' t found how to change the column headers, in the generated frames. Is it possible to do this?

    Thanks to myself, I' ve found a way:
    1/ if you use the DataWebBean "RowSetBrowser"
    you can use the method "setAttributeTitle(attributeName, theTitle_you_want);"
    2/ if you use "ViewCurrentRecord"(=VCR here) you can
    -a) create a new webbean,
    -b)copy the source from the VCR in your new bean
    -c) add the setAttributeTitle method from the
    "RowSetBrowser" bean with the class and attribute(variables) required (the compiler will tell you this !!!)
    -d) invoke the "setattributetitle" method in the "Render" method of your new bean by adding the following code:
    if ( colTitles.get(sHeader) != null )
    sHeader =(String)colTitles.get(sHeader);
    after these lines:
    for(int attrNo = 0; attrNo < attrs.length ; attrNo++)
    if(!shouldDisplayAttribute(attrs[attrNo]))
    continue;
    sHeader = attrs[attrNo].getName();
    Then, when you use the JSP element Wizard
    add the "xxx.setAttributeTitle(defaultTitle, yourTitle)
    where xxx is your bean Id
    That's it
    null

    I've never known that this feature has been implemented.
    The feature exchange said that it is Accepted without giving the detail of when would it be implemented.

    The current release notes don't say anything about this as well.
    My mistake than if it was noted on previous version.
    However, glad to hear if this has been possibly to be done.
    I'll have it a try once I've access to my SQL Dev.
