  • How to hide dynamic parameters values in the URL with Reports 6i

    Hi,
    I want to know a way of hiding the parameters values when asking for a report through the web.
    Now I'm using the Reports 3.0.5.8 with a Cartridge defined in the Oracle Web Application Server 3.0.1.0.1. When you ask for a report with the parameters DESTYPE = cache and DESFORMAT = pdf, it is fully generated and in the Address or Location box of the browser, you can see http://webserver/cache/report.pdf (where cache is the virtual directory defined in the OWAS in which the .pdfs are cached). So, users cant see the Url used to generate the report.
    Im trying to upgrade this configuration to Reports 6i with Cgi in a web server. I generate reports with no problems. The problem I have is I cant find how to hide the parameters values as before. I mean, when I ask for a report, once its generated I can see http://webserver/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?server=ServerName&report=report.rdf&userid=user/pass@connection&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&P1=value1&P2=value2 in the Location box. It allows user to ask for another report changing the values of the parameters. I use these parameters to execute some query written in the Data Model. For example, imagine that the P1 represents the company id, the user (that is supposed to see only data of its company) can change this id, ask for a new report and see data of another company.
    Ive already tried to use the key mapping option, but its not useful to me because the parameters values are dynamic and its impossible to define different entries in the cgicmd.dat for each possible value. The option of loading the parameter form before running a report is not useful to me either, because there exists specific screens for this purpose.
    Is there any solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi Rakesh,
      I am using BI  7.0
    The last option I have is 'Hide' for 'Calculate single values as' .
    I have the below options  for 'Calculate single values as'
    1. Normalise  according to Next group  level  Resul.
    2. Normalize according to  Overall Result
    3. Rank number
    4.Olympic Rank Number
    5.Maximum
    6. Minimum
    7.Counter for all detailed values
    8.Counter for all detailed values that are non zero
    9.Moving average
    10.Moving average  That is  Not zero ,null or Error
    11. Hide.
    So could you please tell me where i can find 'suppress result' option for the keyfigure .

  • How do I use the Parameters from URL to filter on Content Query in ItemStyle.xsl?

    Hi, I might need your help with code that Content Query under <xsl:Template...> that I need a filter for 3 parameter from url (from date, to date(for date range) and type.
    eg: www.mywebsite.com/pages/Filter.aspx?DateFrom=01/01/2012&DateTo=01/01/2013&Type=sports
    I've google for help and not sure they seem working so far.

    Hi,
    If you want to filter a Content Query Web Part with the parameters from URL, we can achieve it with OOTB of Content Query Web Part by adding "Additional Filters" in "Web Part Properties"->"Query". We can add
    three filters like:
    date is greater than [PageQueryString:DateFrom]
    And
    date is less than [PageQueryString:DateTo]
    And
    type is equal to [PageQueryString:Type]
    Then redirect to the URL: www.mywebsite.com/pages/Filter.aspx?DateFrom=01/01/2012&DateTo=01/01/2013&Type=sports, the query results will be filtered.
    Please reply freely if I misunderstand your meaning or there any other questions.

  • How to remove request parameters in a filter

    Hello,
    I wanted to make a filter that removes all the GET parameters except for a few exceptions.
    How do I remove parameters from a ServletRequest or HttpServletRequest? I am trying to make a webapp that only uses POST variables, and not GET (except a few exceptions).
    Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks!

    Arrowx7 wrote:
    Hey, thanks for the replies.
    Actually, I have a bunch of action forms in my webapp, which use request.getParameter(). This method doesn't distinguish between get and post. For security reasons, I don't want any of those parameters coming in with the URL as GET.
    At first I wanted to have the filter take the request URL, parse the variables, loop through them, and remove ones that aren't on the EXEMPT list.
    So a request like this:
    http://myweb.com/messageAction.do?method=send&to=bahuser&subject=i+am+stupid&body=you+stink
    would be turned into this:
    http://myweb.com/messageAction.do?method=send
    because the 'method' param is the only one that is on the EXEMPT list.
    Perhaps there is a way I can get the request URL with the GET params, and then redirect to the safe URL after taking out parameters?If you actually mean take out those parameters (ie make them not attainable anymore) then yes, you can do
    if ("get".equals(request.getMethod().toLowerCase()) {
      response.sendRedirect("http://myweb.com/messageAction.do?method="+request.getParameter("method"));
    } else {
      filterChain.doFilter(request, response);
    }>
    Thanks!

  • How to get HttpServletRequest parameters from two forms in a JSP

    I have this JSP with two forms calling the same servlet. Problem is, when I use a submit button in the second form, I am unable to retrieve the request parameters from the form through the servlet. I am wondering if anybody could give me some info on how to get the request parameters from the second form. I tried to see all the parameter names in the request by calling request.getParameterNames(). But the parameters in the second form are not even seen in the request although I am clicking the submit button in this form!

    First, two forms works fine in one jsp so no need to argue about that.
    Second, did you put the form actions and type ("multipart/formdata " ?) explicit in every form header ? Did you supply different form names ?
    Try to call the submit function through javascript - document.forms[0].submit() for your first, and document.forms[1].submit() for your second form...
    Did you forget to close the form tag by chance ?

    Hi Everyone,
    Could you please point me to a guide or howto, which explains on passing parameters from URL to multiple iViews on a page. I already know how to pass parameters from URL to a single iView (wiki).
    Thanks!

    Hi Indy,
    Currently, passing parameters to the page which contains VC iViews is not supported, only directly in the iView's URL.

    Maintenance Attributes
    You can assign a maintenance attribute P to individual fields in the maintenance view definition in the Dictionary (SE11). It can be  H (hidden)
    H (hidden)
    A field flagged H is not displayed on the screen. This field must also be filled in the background by a routine at an event.
    The system writes R and H fields to the database like all other fields when a new data record is saved.

    Hi all,
    Please tell me how to hide "Request Information" in FYI. I know we can do it through Workflow. But i created a FYI using AME. Is it possible to do it on functional level.

    Found the answers:
    1. The service Impl should implement the javax.xml.rpc.server.ServiceLifecycle interface.
    In this way you get access to a javax.xml.rpc.server.ServletEndpointContext, which gives access to amongst others javax.xml.rpc.handler.MessageContext, which gives access to request information
    2. In the Handler it is possible to store information on the MessageContext, which can be accessed in the service Impl (see 1.).

    In your CO's processFormRequest, do pageContext.putTransactionValue(name, value). You can retrieve the value using pageContext.getTransactionValue(name). Please use your own judgement to use Transaction or Session as the place holder as per your requirement. In most cases, transaction would do but if you want the values to be retained across transactions, use Session. Also, make sure to clear those values when you are done with the values so that this does not get retained across session/transaction.
    Incase, you want the values only for the next submit and not for the transaction, you can use pageContext.putParamater() and pageContext.getParameter() which has a very short life cycle.

    Guru.

  • Getting parameters from URL: use of Special Chars

    I'm unable to retrieve the Special Chars from URL parameters.  Does someone have an idea where to look for?
    Examples where no Special Chars is retrieved :
    ...App?param=Aménagement
    ...App?param=Am<é>nagement
    ...App?param=Am%E9nagement
    I'm using this code :
              IWDProtocolAdapter protocolAdapter =
                   WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter();
              IWDRequest request = protocolAdapter.getRequestObject();
                                    String param = request.getParameter("param");
    Thanks!

    okay, So if I use :
    ...App?param=Am%E9+nagement
    How would you then integrate URLDecoder.decode in the following code?
    IWDProtocolAdapter protocolAdapter =
         WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter();
    IWDRequest request = protocolAdapter.getRequestObject();
    String param = request.getParameter("param");

  • WHY? Request Parameters From Form are NULL

    I have the following process, which by the way has been working successfully for months, until just recently.
    1) User comes to JSP page to upload images through a form that has the <input type="file"> fields as well as <input type="hidden"> to hold a few essential values.
    2) User submits form, form action attribute set to go to a Servlet
    3) Servlet reads all request params and inserts the images into a database.
    I have code to read in the images...I use classes from the org.apache.commons package.
    I could only assume it was the servlet that was the problem, but doubted that because why would it work all these months than suddenly stop.
    I set up a test html page with a form and had it go to a jsp page to read the request params and print them out. To my suprise they all had NULL values.
    Which tells me that the params aren't being read from the form.
    How could this be??
    Here is some example code snippets from my test pages:
    HTML PAGE
    <html><body>
    <form name="images" action="testing_operations.jsp" enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="Customer_Number" value="4750">
    <table>
    <tr><td>
    <input type="file" name="image1" />
    </td></tr>
    <tr><td>
    <input type="file" name="image2" />
    </td></tr>
    <tr><td>
    <input type="submit" value="submit">
    </td></tr>
    </table>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>JSP PAGE
    String cus = request.getParameter("Customer_Number");
    out.println("cus : " + cus +"<br>");
    String image = request.getParameter("image1");
    out.println("image: " + image);
    I'm stumped...what am I doing wrong?
    I can't continue until I get this figured out, can anybody help me with this?

    Love2Java

    I ran my original app with the enctype and without it:
    the tomcat dos-prompt that shows exceptions lists out this below...
    org.apache.commons.fileupload.FileUploadException: Processing of multipart/form-data request failed.
    C:\jakarta-tomcat\temp\upload_00000009.tmp (The system cannot find the path specified)
    at org.apache.commons.fileupload.FileUploadBase.parseRequest(FileUploadBase.java:429)
    at org.apache.jsp.testing_operations_jsp._jspService(testing_operations_jsp.java:113)The code on line 113 in testing_operations.jsp is:
    List items = upload.parseRequest(request);
    and what is this .tmp file its trying to find?? I'm passing it an image off my local disk, not a .tmp file, there isn't even a temp folder in my jakarta-tomcat main folder....
    It is failing on this line because it isn't reading the request parameters sent in, thus why too when I test for the values of the params they return null.
    True, when I take out the enctype my test page will show the values, but this doesn't help me. I need that enctype attribute in there to process the images sent in through the fields.
    So where does this leave me??
    I went to the apache site for the commons upload and they have a more current version than what I'm using which is version 1.0, they have 1.1.1
    I downloaded the new version but had no success in using it, the compiler couldn't find a class I attempted to use.
    I still don't understand how this could be working and then suddenly stop.

  • How to encode request parameters?

    Hi I'm running a small web application developed with JSP pages. But it turns out that it relies on cookies to maintain sessions, which is a limitation if the client's cookie setting disables cookies.
    I know that I could encode the request parameters and use GET method to communicate information between client and server, but have no idea how this is done.
    Can you give me some code, or recommend some tutorial to me? Thanks!

    1. If you don't want to use cookies, you could use URL rewriting to append the session ID. When you redirect to another page, do something like the following:
    a. first choose whether you want to forward or sendRedirect: (the following example is a redirect)
    //encode the parameter values to encode special characters, such as spaces
    String parameterOne = java.net.URLEncoder.encode("some value");
    String parameterTwo = java.net.URLEncoder.encode("some other value");
    //build the query string any way you want
    String queryString="?key1="+parameterOne+"&key2="+parameterTwo;
    /* Use response.encodeRedirectURL if running it through a sendRedirect.
       Doing so will rewrite the url with the session ID appended to the
       end. */
    response.sendRedirect(response.encodeRedirectURL("some.jsp"+queryString));This little code snippet demonstrates two things. It shows that URL rewriting can be used to append the session ID. It also shows you how to encode parameters (i.e. use URLEncoder.encode()).
    If you want to encode your string in the JSP, you could also do it using javascript:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    <!--
       //this is just an example javascript function
       function openPage() {
          var thisForm=document.formName;
          /* get your form element values (these are text boxes).
             Note: the javascript escape() function url encodes the values.
                   there are also other js functions to do this. */
          var paramOne=escape(thisForm.paramOne);
          var paramTwo=escape(thisForm.paramTwo);
          var queryString="?paramOne="+paramOne+"&paramTwo="+paramTwo;
          window.open("some.jsp"+queryString,"some_window_name");
       }//end openPage
    //-->
    </script>Or, you could build it using JSP expressions and scriptlets. Its really up to you. These are just rudimentary examples to help you get started.

  • How to hide request with no results in Dashboard?

    Hi Experts,
    I have a dashboard with 3 requests in one section. The 3 requests are very similar to each other but need to be separated due to the way the metrics are calculated and the location of the datasource.
    DepartmentName Sales Month
    GroupName Sales Month
    TeamName Sales Month
    There is no hierarchy and all three don't relate to each other.
    The issue I am having is that if the first request (lets call it Department Request) doesn't have any data for that particular month, it still displays the column heading.
    How can hide the request or the column headings if there is no data for that request?

    --Report Dropdown
    --here is a detailed explanation from David using Guided navigation
    --http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3511377
    --So, essentially, when you 1st report returns no data then you can hide that section, to itself.
    Thanks for the suggestion.
    This won't work for my requirements because the user doesn't want to select the reports. They want to input the para maters and look at the requests that have the data. If a request doesn't return data, then they want it blank.
    This dashboard will grown in terms of requests so the user doesn't want to select each report that they might need. Also, users will not know which request might or might not have data.
