How to hide users' (and roles and organization) list from a user in OIM

Hi,
Admin (xelsysadm) has created a user in OIM. Now if that user is logged in to OIM Self Service (http://<url>/identity), he can see other user in his organization, along with list of roles, role categories, organizations etc. I have requirement to hide all the administration links from end user. Right now, he only has "All Users" role, and doesn't have any admin role, but can see all these administration links. What do I need to do to hide these links from end user? Do need to remove "All Users" role, or assign any other role, or do something in entitlement or in access policy ??

Steps, just for reference...
1). Create SandBox
2). Activate
3). Customze and view by source
4). Select your link which you want to hide
5). Edit Visible properties and use #{oimcontext.currentUser.roles['SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS'] != null}
6). Save
7). Publish
8). Test

We have developed a Web Dynpro Java application for our client.
Now the client would like to make sure that on their production portal (NetWeaver Portal 7.0), if an end user comes across an application exception (or any other exception for that matter), a custom error message or at least a less detailed error message as the standard "500 internal server error" with all exception details is displayed.
I remember that once upon a time, i stumbled across a setting for this - but I just cannot find it anymore...
Does anyone here know this?

We installed Peoplesoft 8.49 Apps 9.0, and 10G Oracle on Windows 2003, everything working perfectly except User profiles and Roles and Permission Folders
I have ran AE scripts well, even then we are not able to browse those sections

Navigate to the Navigation panel of the selected Theme and make the width as 0px 0px 0px and also upload the blank image with the same background color.

As you said you need this only for some user , you have to create a new framework page by copying the default one , then create new portal desktop and the new display rules as per your requirement.

Best way to create a conact list from the user profile properties

We have a customer looking for a phone book utility, starting with a table showing main user information and with some search options. We would like o base it on the user profile properties and not to create an indipendent studion record browser porlet.
What is best way to create a conact list from the user profile properties ?

I did something like this using search. It can get messy, so you need to take care with it.
* Identify the properties you want to make accessible to search (ex: name, etc.)
- add them to the user property map
- flag them as searchable
* I broke down and used the native server API. I'd still suggest this approach.
* Write some simple code to do vcard export if you like
(my code is all in vb.net)
I really believe this is the "right" approach, but honestly, this was a bit painful and has been
messy for us given some other business issues. (to my chagrin we have users with 2-letter last
names...)
I have code you're welcome to poke at, but it's more or less slapped together and has various
different search methods commented out so you can see how I tinkered w/ the remote vs. server
API.
If you'd like it mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you a zipped copy w/ a
readme. I hope it may be useful to you as both a starting reference.

Hello experts,
couples of questions with regards to BPC 10 security
1) In PBC 10, version SAP NetWeaver , if a team or a user was created in BPC not in BW, can the created user/team has access to SAP BW? Can the created team/user be imported and assigned assigned rights in BW? Or , if I need a user who will have acces to both SAP BW and BPC , do I HAVE to create the user in SAP NetWeaver (BW) and assign rights?? or

Assuming that a write access to Currency = Euro : Write produce the same output as in the above, How can ensure that I can give a write access on a dimension without having allowing the write access to the whole entity as in the above case?

Hi John,
For your 1st question, to add a BPC user, you need to create BW user first on BW. Then add this BW user as BPC user. When you create a BW user, you need to assign two roles
/POA/BUI_FLEX_CLIENT, /POA/BUI_UM_USER.
Actually, once you created the BW user, you can use this BW user to log on to BW now, but this user has few rights, such as no rights to execute some t-code RSA1, etc. To make this BW user more powerful, you need to assign the corresponding rights directly on BW, not from BPC. The rights(Data Access profile or task profiles) added from BPC only works on BPC object, such as members, cube, etc.

i am currently using custom_AddDocLibMenuItems to implement a custom ECB menu for my document library. I need to activate Office Web Apps. My custom_AddDocLibMenuItems has two items
-> custom dialog
-> open in office web apps
After activating the Office Web Apps Feature at the SiteCollection Level, this Feature "injects" in my custom menu the following
additional menu items:
-> View in Browser
-> Edit in Browser
Its curious to see that, cause implementing the js function custom_AddDocLibMenuItems with
return true should be the way to impolement a custom ECB menu without having other features/solutions injecting things in this menu!? Or did i misunderstood something here?
My question is: How can i prevent this ...
a) without deactivating the Office Web Apps Feature
b) without modifying the core.js

Su01 recreate old user - lost roles and profiles

Situation: a person's sap account was deleted, but now that person needs it again with the same sap access as before
when you recreate an old sap user account in su01,
sap gives a message "found old user information, do you want to reacreate this".
Press yess, then all is copied except roles and profiles (empty)....
You can find them back via the menu : information<change dcuments for users.
Is there a way to make sure that roles (and/or profiles) are instantly copied from the old records of the sap account (like
the name, email user group, user parameters, etcetera)?

No. There is no such feature.
The solution is not to delete the user but rather lock the ID and move it to a "retired" user group where it is protected. From there you can restore it again easily.
