How to I Produce Serial Data Stream Using DIO Channel

I would like to output to a "serial to parallel" circuit (74HC194 (Universal Shift Register IC)circuit) for the purposes of increasing my digital I/O off of my DAQPad-6020E. Does anybody have an example of outputting a data stream (both a clock and a "data out" stream)? All I would need is a clock edge after every output bit, but since I am new to producing vi's, I was hoping that someone would be able to give an example of an approach to take.
The closest thread I found on the message board was a request to produce a PWM signal. My signal does not have to be that precise since I will be latching every new data bit with an independent clock edge.

Because the DAQPad-6020E does not have hardware timed DIO, you will be forced to output software timed digital data. Are you using LabVIEW 7.1? If so, one approach would be to generate an output counter pulse and use that to time a Timed Loop in LabVIEW. That way, for every output pulse of the counter, the timed loop would iterate. If you place your digital write VIs in that loop, you will output a digital value for every rising/falling edge of the counter output.
Does this answer your question? If not, please give a little more detail about the Universal Shift Register IC and what it would require from your DO lines.

I am planning to use the digital line out to generate the serial data stream.
I seems that if I use the wait timer the minimum pulse width I can get is
1ms. But for my application the pulses have to be shorter than that. I was

What you are looking to do is not possible with the digital lines on the board you have.
Depending on what other connections you have on the board, you could use one of the two analog outputs to generate your required serial data stream using pattern generation. Check the DAQ solution wizard=>Custom DAQ applications=>Analog Output=>Generate continuous sine wave. This example should give you a baseline to get started. Substitute the sine wave generator for your desired digital stream Logic 0 =0V, Logic 1=5V.
If you need more than 2 lines, or some form of handshaking, I would suggest using the PCI-6534 or (DIO-32-HS as it was previously called) This will give you the ability to generate serial data streams with timing and/or handshaking.

How to efficiently log multiple data streams with TDMS

Ok, first off, I'll admit I am completely clueless when it comes to logging, TDMS in particular. That said, I'm trying to work out the best way to log some data from an existing LabVIEW-based control system, so that users can later access that data in the event of catastrophic failure or other situations where they might want to see exactly what happened during a particular run.
I've got a total of between 6 and 12 data points that need to be stored (depending on how many sensors are on the system). These are values being read from a cRIO control system. They can all be set to Single data type, if necessary - even the one Boolean value I'm tracking is already being put through the "convert to 0,1" for graph display purposes. The data is currently read at 100ms intervals for display, but I will be toying with the rate that I want to dump data to the disk - a little loss is OK, just need general trending for long term history. I need to keep file sizes manageable, but informative enough to be useful later.
So, I am looking for advice on the best way to set this up. It will need to be a file that can be concurrently be read as it is being written, when necessary - one of the reasons I am looking at TDMS in the first place (it was recommended to me previously). I also need an accurate Date/Time stamp that can be used when displaying the data graphically on a chart, so they can sync up with the external camera recordings to correlate just what happened and when.
Are there specific pitfalls I should watch for? Should I bundle all of the data points into an array for each storage tick, then decimate the array on the other end when reading? I've dug through many of the examples, even found a few covering manual timestamp writing, but is there a preferred method that keeps file size minimized (or extraction simplified)?
I definitely appreciate any help... It's easy to get overwhelmed and confused in all of the various methods I am finding for handling TDMS files, and determining which method is right for me.

I need to bump this topic again... I'll be honest, the TDMS examples and available help are completely letting me down here.
As I stated, I have up to 12 data values that I need to stream into a log file, so TDMS was suggested to me. The fact that I can concurrently read a file being written to was a prime reason I chose this format. And, "it's super easy" as I was told...
Here's the problem. I have multiple data streams. Streams that are not waveform data, but actual realtime data feedback from a control system, that is being read from a cRIO control system into a host computer (which is where I want to log the data). I also need to log an accurate timestamp with this data. This data will be streamed to a log file in a loop that consistently writes a data set every 200ms (that may change, not exactly sure on the timing yet).
Every worthwhile example that I've found has assumed I'm just logging a single waveform, and the data formatting is totally different from what I need. I've been flailing around with the code, trying to find a correct structure to write my data (put it all in an array, write individual points, etc) and it is, quite honestly, giving me a headache. And finding the correct way for applying the correct timestamp (accurate data and time the data was collected) is so uncharacteristically obtuse and hard to track down... This isn't even counting how to read the data back out of the file to display for later evaluation and/or troubleshooting... Augh!
It's very disheartening when a colleague can throw everthing I'm trying to do together in 12 minutes in the very limited SCADA user interface program he uses to monitor his PLCs... Yet LabVIEW, the superior program I always brag about, is slowly driving me insane trying to do what seems like a relatively simple task like logging...
So, does anyone have any actual useful examples of logging multiple DIFFERENT data points (not waveforms) and timestamps into a TDMS file? Or real suggestions for how to accomplish it, other than "go look at the examples" which I have done (and redone). Unless, of course, you have an actual relevant example that won't bring up more questions than it answers for me, in which case I say "bring it on!"

How can I decode a data stream to jpeg image?

I am using the tranfered jpeg-data stream of a scanner module which I need to decode and display as an image on my vi.
Question:
With which method i can do that on the fly?
or
do I need to save the data stream (string) first to decode it afterwards with the "Read JPEG file.vi"? If so, how do I save the data in the correct way in the way that LabView can read it?

For Windows I use .NET to do this type of conversion without resorting to writing temporary files. This VI will convert most formats (bmp,jpg,gif,tif) to a PNG string and then you can use the native PNG data to LV image VI. Why they do not provide string based versions for all image formats is beyond me (idea perhaps?).

you mean using translation manager? or data from DB? or both.
You need to make sure that your DB is already configured for multiple languages.
Enable the OS for multi languages
On XIR3.1, you will need to install language packs on the processing servers. then you can utilize translation manager.
Installation of Language Packs are a pain to install and update.

Problems Reading SSL server socket data stream using readByte()

Hi I'm trying to read an SSL server socket stream using readByte(). I need to use readByte() because my program acts an LDAP proxy (receives LDAP messages from an LDAP client then passes them onto an actual LDAP server. It works fine with normal LDAP data streams but once an SSL data stream is introduced, readByte just hangs! Here is my code.....

I suspect you are actually getting an Exception and not tracing the cause properly and then doing a sleep and then getting another Exception. Never ever catch an exception without tracing what it actually is somewhere.
Also I don't know what the sleep is supposed to be for. You will block in readByte() until something comes in, and that should be enough yielding for anybody. The sleep is just literally a waste of time.

How do you separate UDP data streams

Hi. I'm currently using LabVIEW 2013 to read in a UDP data stream (packet) that contains various parameters. I am successful in receiving the UDP packet using the UDP Open and UDP Read vi. On the data out of the UDP Read I have it running into the "Unflatten to String" function and the type I have created a cluster containing 32-bit floating point (Single Precision in LabVIEW) numeric constant, since that is the type of data I am receiving. To be able to separate the different parameters coming in, I have created the same number of numeric constants blocks to equal the number of parameters. Is there an easier way to separate the data from the UDP data out so that I don't have to create so many numeric constants to represent the same number of data I have coming in? Sometimes we will way more than what is listed below.

If all the data is the same type, then you can wire an array as the datatype instead of a cluster. Set the "data includes array or string size" input to False (the default is True). The output will be an array, and you can index out the values you want.

How to query a reporting data source using ranges?

HI guys,
I was looking at the BPM Reporting API available and more specifically the way one can query and search for data, stored in a reporting Data Source.
I can see that there are methods in the API, allowing for a search by concrete field name and value, triggering data with exact or partial match of the specified value (query() and search() methods of ReportingDataSourceManager interface).
However, we need to query using ranges of numbers or dates. Can someone advice how this can be done without creating a method of our own processing the whole data set?
For example, how I can retrieve all data stored since yesterday? am I missing something in the BPM Reporting API? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

That's the code I'm using to update an opportunity. In the date fields (e.g. dFecha_de_entrega_al_cliente) I've tried to put an specific date in the correct format (If i put it in another format i've got an error message due the wrong format). The CRM accepted the code but it didn't update the values that are different of string.
I don´t know if there is something missing in teh program or if the developer environment is not the adequate.

You need the password if it is iCloud locked you won't be able to activate the phone for use.

I am trying to build a DAQ system, which can collect the data coming from 3 different channels. I am using the SCXI 1300 board, Labview 8.0. I used 3 separate DAQ Assistant module to build the system, but it can not collect the data from the 3 channels simultaneously, it can only collect the data from one channel by another channel. So I am wondering how could I fix this problem or rebuild my system. Thanks

I tried to use the NI-DAQmx to replace the DAQ Assistant to do the 3-channel data acquisition simultaneously, and I did the signal splition as you told me. The program works fine for 1-channel data collection, but if I chose 3 channels to do the data acquisition simultaneously, the program could not wokr, and a warning window kept poping up, and the window tells me the maximum sampling frequency is 0.952. So I am wondering what is going wrong and how to fix it.
The attached files are the code and the screen shot of the warning window, please check them.
