How to identified the size of table logging (SCU3)

hi SAP Expert,
currently i'm activating the table logging via parameter REC\CLIENT = ALL, understand that this will accumulate the log times to times, is there anyway i can identified how big is the log file already? since i'm concern the log files would make my hardisk full. thanks for any respon.

Table logging write to table DBTABPRT, just check the size of the table in DB02 (or number of entries in SE16) you can track the growth of the table and wipe the contents once the data is been consumed by whoever requested it.
You can check in DB02 in what tablespace the table is located and make sure that theres enough space in the filesystem for the table to grow without causing inconvenients.

  • How to fix the size of table data in html

I want to fix the size of table data in html. ie if i want to insert only 50 char in a <td> field then it contain only 50 character, after that it switched to another line and contain the remaining character. Means <td> field wil not get automatically adjust there size according to data.

you cant specify how many characters a td cell can have but u can specify the pixel width of a td cell
    <td width=50>
as long as you have wrap text on, then text will not force the box size over the 50 pixels
this wont limit it to only 50 chars though, you will probably have to use some javascript to cut the string down to size (unless youre using something like php or asp then that will do the trick too)

  • How to increase the size of Redo log files?

    Hi All,
I have 10g R2 RAC on RHEL. As of now, i have 3 redo log files of 50MB size. i have used redo log size advisor by setting fast_start_mttr_target=1800 to check the optimal size of the redologs, it is showing 400MB. Now, i want to increase the size of redo log files. how to increase it?
If we are supposed to do it on production, how to do?
I found the following in one of the article....
"The size of the redo log files can influence performance, because the behavior of the database writer and archiver processes depend on the redo log sizes. Generally, larger redo log files provide better performance, however it must balanced out with the expected recovery time.Undersized log files increase checkpoint activity and increase CPU usage."
I did not understand the the point however it must balanced out with the expected recovery time in the above given paragraph.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks,
    Praveen.

You dont have to shutdown the database before dropping redo log group but make sure you have atleast two other redo log groups. Also note that you cannot drop active redo log group.
    Here is nice link,
    http://www.idevelopment.info/data/Oracle/DBA_tips/Database_Administration/DBA_34.shtml
And make sure you test this in test database first. Production should be touched only after you are really comfortable with this procedure.

  • How to know the size of archived logs created under ASM

    I using Oracle 10g on Linux x86-64.
I need to ship the archived logs(not the entire directory, only a few) from the Live database to the DR site, so I need an estimate of how much time it will take to ship them across the network ?
Is there anyway I can know the size of a specific archived log file stored under ASM ?
We can use du in ASM to know the size of directory but I dont find a command in ASM to get the size of a file ?

No we are also switching logfiles manually , so the maximum size may not
    have reached.
What I need is something like ls -l command in the Unix prompt which will
help us to find the size of the file , a similar command to help us determine
a size of file in ASM ?What is the objective?
Anyways, you can get the size of an archived log file by quering V$ARCHIVED_LOG view.
    SQL> select sequence#, name, blocks*block_size from v$archived_log where sequence# > 180;
    SEQUENCE# NAME                                     BLOCKS*BLOCK_SIZE

  • How to limit the size of a log file.

    Hi,
I am developing an application that creates a log file with all actions that take place. My problem is that this log file grows a lot because the application acts as a server that is up 24 hours a day. For that reason, I wanted to limit the size of the log file by deleting de older lines, how can implement is?
    Thanks.

One way is to periodically (say every week) create a new file to store the actions and then, when the space taken up by all the files is too large, delete the oldest one.
You can also have your application periodically (say the first time you write to the file on any calendar day) check the size of the file and, when it gets too big, copy all of the actions in the file after a given time (presumably there is an associated timestamp with each action) to a new file. Then delete the old file.

  • How to identify the source column and source table for a measure

Does anyone have a query that I can use to positively identify the source column and source table for a cube measure in an SSAS cube?  Visual Studio shows ID, Name, and Source, but it is nearly worthless in a large cube and database.
Also - the same for a dimension would be great.
If no query exists for this, can someone please explain how to find the source column/table for a measure and for a dimension?
    Thanks.

DMVs don’t expose the DataSourceView content. AMO is much better suited for object model operations like
this than the DMVs. PowerShell is also sometimes an option, but in this case C# code would be much easier because analyzing the contents of the DataSourceView is much easier using the .Net DataSet class.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to know the size of data in some columns of a table?

    Hi,
How can the size of of data for some specified column be determined?
For example : TableA has 20 columns and the size of table is 20 GB. I want to know the size of data kept in last four columns.
    Thanks in Advance,

    You could use vsize to determine the size of a column element and sum them upselect sum(vsize(column_of_interest)) from whatever_table;

  • How to identify the psa table names in bi 7?

    Hi all,
How to identify the psa table names in bi 7?  i need to know the psa table name in bi 7?
as well as i need to check whether any historical data loads is there for psa for a particular period?
How to filter for a particular data in the psa in bi 7?
    Thanks
    Pooja

    Hi Pooja,
A)How to identify the psa table names in bi 7? i need to know the psa table name in bi 7?
Double click on the PSA and CTRLSHIFTF5 --->in PSA properties -->PSA table ..u can find the name here ....
B)as well as i need to check whether any historical data loads is there for psa for a particular period?
usually as SAP best practise we will not keep data in PSA for not more than 30 days or at the amx 60 days..you may not find historical data here..however to find the oldest data -->Right Click >Manage>Give some old date ,say 01.01.2005 in the Request newer than ...and Refresh.....
Other way is to find out in the Data provider i.e in the Cube or DSO ...
How to filter for a particular data in the psa in bi 7?
    a)Do not map it
    b)in the DTP...Filter it ....i.e from PSA -->CUBE/DSO....
c)Or write a routine also in start routine ...

  • How can I change the size of table control in table maintenance re-gen?

    Hello Experts,
I hv created a maintenance view and after generated table maintenance view for it.
now it adjusts the size of table control in table maintenance generation.
I want to change the size (width) of table control and again re-generate the table maintenance.
But when re-generation occurs, table control size is set to initial.
why it is happening? and wt to do to solve this issue? any user exit?
I need the changed size of table control even if its re-generated.
    Regards,
    R.Hanks

    Hello Ronny,
Goto SM30, Enter your table name for which you have maintained your table maintainence generator .
When the maintainence screen appears for your table name , Goto System->Status->Screen Program name.
Copy that program name from there.
Open that module program through SE80,this is the program name of your SM30 screen which appears when we enter our table name in SM30 transaction.
In SE80,click the layout of the module program name you have entered there.
Its layout will display you the table control(of SM30) present to enter your your enteries.
In the change mode you can change its size , savee it and activate that program.
Now goto to SM30 again and enter your table name, it will show you the changed size of the table control used to take the enteries.
Note:This changed size is only for your table name and it will remain of its previous size for other table enteries.
    Hope it helps you.
    Thanks Mansi
