How to identify incoming URL in a web app?

I have a web app A with a link to another web application B.
When I click on the link B (actually a servlet), it takes me to the new application. Is there a way I can tell where I came from?
i.e. Is there a way to get the URL of the originating application A?
On appl B, I have a <return to A> link. Clicking on this should take me back to A.
How do I do something like this?
Thanks.

I think there's a dereferrer field in the HTTP header that you can query from the HttpRequest.

How do I add image upload to web app edit template. When creating fields I am selecting image from the field type. But the only way to upload and image is when I create the web app item within the admin. The option to upload an image is not available when the user submit web form opens.

  • How to highlight text in the iCloud web app

    Hi,
My computer recently broke so I had to use my mom's windows computer to do my homework. I had to use the iCloud web app Pages to do my homework. My assignment requires to be able to highlight stuff so does anyone know how to highlight text in the iCloud web apps?

You can do this easily by using a "modify class" parameter in your web template.
Following methods are of your interest to change char/KF headers.
CAPTION_CELL          changes formats/values of characteristic headers
STRUCTURE_CELL          changes formats/values of key figure headers

  • Exchange and Office Web Apps Integration - Wrong Url to Outlook Web App port 444

    Hi,
I'm trying to setup Office Web Apps integration with Exchange 2013.  Office Web Apps are working fine with SharePoint 2013 and the WAC servers are listed as in a healthy state.
When trying to open an office document from OWA I get the usual "Sorry...we ran into a problem.  Please try again"
However I have noticed that the URL that OWA is passing WAC is in the format: https://exchangeservername.domain.com:444/owa/[email protected]/wopi/files...
This is the backend server address! All the internal and external urls for owa, ecp, ews etc are set to https://mail.domain.com and they all seem to be working fine.  Client Access and Mailbox roles are on the same server.
If I change the url to https://mail.domain.com/owa/[email protected]/wopi/files... then the office file opens correctly in Office Web Apps
How do I correct the URL that OWA is sending Office Web Apps?
    Thanks!

    Hi DJL,
If everything works well except open document via OWA, it seems Exchange server 2013 has been configured correctly.
Please follow me to check Office Web Apps Server settings and Integration.
    OWAS settings
    1. Certificate:
Come from a trusted CA, include FQDN of OWAS farm in SAN field.
    Exportable private key.
Friendly name must be unique within Trusted Root Certificate Authorities store.
    2. Farm:
    New-OfficeWebAppsFarm with following parameters
-InternalURL is the FQDN of the server that runs OWAS
-ExternalURL is the FQDN so that OWAS can be access on the Internet
-CertificateName is the friendly name of the certificate to be used for HTTPS
    3. Explore this URL https://mail.domain.com/hosting/discovery
If OWAS works well, you can see a WOPI-discovery XML file in web browser.
    Integration
    1. Configure OWAS URL via EMS,
    Set-OrganizationConfig –WACDiscoveryEndpoint https://mail.domain.com/hosting/discovery
    2. WAC stands for Web Access Components.
Check App Log the 140 and 142 Event IDs for MSExchange OWA.
142 means the discovery of the OWAS was successful, 141 means something went wrong.
    3. Enable OWAS.
By default, OWA Virtual Directory is already enable WAC Viewing on both public and private computer.
Please run "Get-OwaVirtualDirectory | FL *wac* "to check whether both “WacViewingOnPublicComputersEnabled” and “WacViewingOnPrivateComputersEnabled” parameter is True.
    4. Method to collect logs on OWAS.
Run following command in OWAS powershell prompt:
    Get-OfficeWebAppsFarm | FL *log*

  • In BC how do you display fields between 2 web apps

I have successfully connected two web apps by creating a 1 to 1 relationship between my two web apps Article and Author.
So, when a user is on the details page of my Article, they see the Authors info.
But, now, I need to do the reverse..create a page that displays ALL of the Articles written by a specific Author.
    Thanks

    Hi there,
You actually should set up categories rather then using a custom field like that. Under site settings in the admin, you will see them there.
On a web app item, the button in the top left.. If you click that you will see the classification option.
Once you do that in you can insert web app item lists based on that specific category and the Web app search, can search just for those.

  • How would you limit the number of Web App items a user can enter.

I am creating a web app where people can list objects/items. I want to offer plans that will enable users to enter up to a predefined number of entries and no more than what they paid to enter. They can then come back as often as they wish during their subscription period to update, create, and/or delete entries ( but again, never more than what thier subscription entitles them ).
    Fore sake of illustration.
User Plan 1 entitles user to enter 1 web app item,
    while
User Plan 2 entitle user to enter 3 web app items, and
User Plan 3 entitles user to enter 5 web app items.
    These are annual plans.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
As per your query you can not define to any user for schedule selected background jobs. I hope you are clear for this.

  • How can I check if an user has access to an url within my web app?

    Hi,
I have a web application where I allow the users to set their startup page by presenting them a list of startup pages. However, some startup pages can accessed only by certain users, so I want to present the user only those pages the user has access to.
How can I do this with weblogic?
One way is to read the web.xml file and determine the roles that have access to the page, then check whether the user has any of those roles.
Is there a better way eventually using some weblogic api?
    Thanks

Just for the record, I decided to parse the web.xml file and to simulate whatever the container does.

  • How to locate a resource in a Web app in Weblogic 5.1

I am running Weblogic 5.1 with sp10 in SunOS 5.7. I am trying to load
a resource (a property file) by calling a function like this.
              InputStream In = getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("/xyz.properties");
This function is being called by a servlet loaded in a Servlet context
in a Web application say "Test".
Actually the same is not called directly by the Servlet but a class
              which the servlet calls instead.
My question is where can i put the property file for it to locate.
To my knowledge as per Servlet2.2 specification the resource will be
loaded if it is in the /WEB-INF/classes or /WEB-INF/lib directory of
              the webapp.
But surprisingly it is not able to locate the same resource in that
              path.
If i put the same property file in some directory which is in
WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH, then the same gets loaded.
Could anyone please clarify what is happenning here and what is that i
have got it wrong if any ..!
              Thanks in advance.
              Venky

    Hi Ramien,
you must specify a path, but this may also be relative, and that means also be empty; for details:
<i>A pathname, whether abstract or in string form, may be either absolute or relative. An absolute pathname is complete in that no other information is required in order to locate the file that it denotes. A relative pathname, in contrast, must be interpreted in terms of information taken from some other pathname. By default the classes in the java.io package always resolve relative pathnames against the current user directory. This directory is named by the system property user.dir, and is typically the directory in which the Java virtual machine was invoked.</i>
    See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/io/File.html for further details.
    Hope it helps

  • How to generate wsdl url in Siebel 8.1

    Dear Gurus,
Please help, how to generate wsdl url from inbound web services in Siebel 8.1
    Regards,
    Eldin

    Hi Raj,
I've tried, this url did'nt recognize as a web service.
For example, in Oracle E-Business Suite ( Integration Repository ) there's a button to generate wsdl url. The wsdl url is http://servername/webservice/pls/test?WSDL.
So is it possible we generate wsdl url like in E-Business Suite ? Or there's something we need to configure so Siebel wsdl url will recognize as web service in E-Business Suite.
    Thanks for your response.

  • How to add a custom web apps root page?

I saw in Jan 2013 System Update the following:
"Render a custom page when accessing the root URL of a Web App. For example, if you have a “blog” Web App, the items can be made accessible at  /blog/my-blog-post, and you’ll have the ability to customize the /blog page"
Could someone point me in the correct direction for instructions on how to make use of this feature.
Couldn't appear to find a link from the Blog release notes to anything, and also tried trawling through support and forums for a suitable post.
Closest I found was one about using sub-folders for web app items.
I've tried adding a page in website admin, with the same URL as the web app, but it simply throws an error as it clashes with Web App url.
    Cheers
    Mike

    Hi Mike.
Because a folder can have a index.html Web apps in the past you could not access that ability. You had to make a page and you could not SEO call it the same as your web app.
    SO
Your web app is called Blog.
You can now make a folder in your root called Blog.
In that folder you can create a page and give it a url of index.html
Now when you access the a web app directly - www.yoursite.com/yourwebapp or www.yoursite.com/yourwebapp/index/html you will access that index page.
You can also put other pages under that folder if you want too.
