How To implement a cfc connection

I am a newbie trying to figure out how to implement a remote connection to my coldfusion server via referencing my cfc file WITHOUT identifying my coldfusion server root folder.
Within my organization, I just reference a coldfuison file (*.cfm) in the browser and everything just works without me having to reference a coldfuison server path.
Every time I try using the Flex 4.5 wizard to create a data or service connection, I am always prompted for a root folder or url name for my coldfusion server.
How can I setup a connection (a CFC one) without having to specify my Coldfusion server root folder. Is there a wizard or must I write some remote access code in Flex??
Can someone point me to a book, an example of how to write a remote access code which will allow me to reference a CFC file so I can attach it to a data control.

How to implement a UI similar to a UML Diagram with connections?

I'm working on an App that has a hierarchy of nodes and connections between them (Similar to Visio, a UML diagram, or Netbeans Visual Library). The nodes can be moved around, connections between nodes are maintained, etc.
The hierarchy of nodes is easily mimicked as JavaFX Nodes in the scene graph. Implementing the UI for the connections however has proved to be trickier. Here are 2 issues I'm trying to solve:
1) Connections need to track the positioning of their 'endpoint' nodes. Let's say a connection is an arrow connecting 2 arbitrary nodes in the hierarchy. The connection is itself a JavaFX node but in a different parent than the endpoint nodes. There doesn't seem to be a way to be notified that the endpoint nodes' location in the scene has changed, only their local bounds. Because there could be a whole sub-hierarchy of nodes being moved at a time, the connections need to reposition themselves whenever one of its endpoint nodes move in the scene (or should I say - move with respect to the common 'root' pane of the nodes and connections). Any ideas on how to implement this would be appreciated!
2) I wanted the connections to 'float' independent of the nodes. I thought the StackPane would be ideal, (back pane for nodes, front pane for connections), however, the front pane "steals" all the mouse events from the back pane! There's an almost useful method called 'setMouseTransparent', but it applies to a Node AND all of its children. Thus calling this on the front pane means the Connections no longer get mouse clicks. Blah... am I missing something here? Why isn't there a setMouseTransparent() method that doesn't apply to the children? I'd like the connections (thin lines using 'Path') to get mouse events, and otherwise nodes in the back plane should get them.
As a workaround to 2, I bailed on StackPane and use a regular Pane to hold both the nodes and connections. But I need to ensure the connections are always at the 'end' of the list of children... But that's an ugly solution. I feel like either I or JavaFX am missing something here.

So you need to update the connections between nodes when the nodes are moved around?
But because the connections aren't in the same immediate parent as the nodes they are in a different "local" coordinate space... you want to somehow listen to a node's location in terms of the scene coordinates? So even though the nodes local coordinates remain the same the node moves because it's parent moves and there is now way to observe that directly. Is that right.

How to Implement HTTP Request Status Code Processing

I actually have two questions. First, I wondering how to add multiple status code processing to an http request. Secondly, I was wondering how to go about using alternate http requests to different servers in case the primary server is down. What kind of parameter would the program use to determine that the server is unavailable and switch to another server??
Currently, the program I've written calls an rdf server (http://www.rdfabout.com/sparql) using a sparql query,
the server returns an xml string, the program parses it, and calculates numbers
from the string. The program works, but the problem is that the server is down occasionally.
When the server is down, we need to add calls to another server to

I'm thinking an if/else statement, which I've tried a few different ways,

I think your issue comes form the fact that you are not casting URLConnection to HttpURLConnection.
Doing the cast would allow you to use getResponseCode() - among other methods - and test for a response different than 200.

How to implement web service client timeout

I'm trying to implement a web service client using JAX-RPC specification and the client is generated by clientgen utility. We are using weblogic8.1(sp5).
How do I control the connection timeout and data transmission timeout? I have tried:
BindingInfo.setTimeout() method and stub._setProperty("weblogic.webservice.rpc.timeoutsecs", "1" /* secs */);
and they don't seem to be working...
I have searched the web service documentation and didn't found any mentioning on this. Can someone shred some light on this?

I had a problem too for setting the timeout of a webservice client. but i didn't find any thing on this.
But there is a work around for this see if it suits you but for this you have to use Apache AXIS webservice api to generate the client in that Api you have the Stub.timeOut() function to over come this problem

How to implement parent entity for core data

I am starting a document-based Core Data application (Cocoa) and developed the following data model;
The 'invoice' entity is a parent entity of 'items', because ideally I would want there to be many items for each invoice. I guess my first point here is - is what I am trying to do going to be achieved using this method?
If so, I have been trying several ways in Interface Builder to sort out how to implement this structure with cocoa bindings. I have made a Core Data app before, just with one entity. So this time, I have two separate instances of NSArrayController's connected to tables with relevant columns. I can add new 'invoice' entities fine, but I can't get corresponding 'items' to add.
I tried setting the Managed Object Context of the 'item' NSArrayController to this;
I thought this would resolve the issue, but I still have found no resolution to the problem.
If anyone done something similar to this, I'd appreciate any help

Second, when you create a Core Data Document Based application, XCode generates the MyDocument class, derivating from NSPersistentDocument. This class is dedicated to maintain the Managed Object Model and the Managed Object Context of each document of your application.
There is only one Context and generally one Model for each Document.
In Interface Builder, the Managed Object Context must be bound to the managedObjectContext of the MyDocument instance: it's the File's owner of the myDocument.xib Nib file.
It's not the case in your Nib File where the Managed Object Context is bound to the invoiceID of the Invoice Controller.
It's difficult to help you without an overall knowledge of your application, perhaps could you create an InvoiceItem Controller and bind its Content Set to the relationship of your invoice.

Can master standby pairs with subscribers mode caryy out it? when the master and standby nodes are fail, can subscriber node take over the application?? thank you.

The best, and recommended, solution for this is to have an active/standby pair located locally as the primary mechanism for high-availability and to configure a remote readonly subscriber datastore. In the event that the primary site completely fails, the remote subscriber can be easily (few seconds) promoted to an active to form the basis of a new active/standby pair at the remote site.
It is not supported to split an active/standby pair across a network connection that is anything less than LAN grade but a remote subscriber can be located across any reasonable network connection (WAN, VPN etc.) as long as there is sufficient bandwidth and the latency is not too high.

I am sorry to ask again. I am not at all familiar with xml.
I have tried to modify the ASP script you've suggested, but I get strange XML error, which doesn't make sense to me.
I understand that with the script the server creates an XML File on the fly. First I have to connect to my access database, then I fill the records into a recordset object. And then the server loops through the RS and creates the xml file. Is that correct?
The error message I get, points to a complete different place in the code, to a javascript module, which is working perfectly without below code.
Any suggestions where the bug is?

My aim is to find out if a connection is available. so that when multiple user hit the first page, it will serve the user only when a connection is available and will display an error message if there is non.
I have tried the following with database shutdown. This still return a string regardless if any connection is available.

I would propose you create a Stack of Connections POP out the Connection whenever a user requests and Push a Connection back when the User is through and releases the connection this way if you try to POP a connection which is not present you can notify the user that the Connection is not available .
Ideally the Architecture of the class should be like this :-
A Class SQLProvider
some methods within it like
getConnection [Should be a Static Method ]
return Connection
destroy etc etc
The Instance will be a Vector which will be used as a stack You can Use a Stack either . and the Connection will be a part of the Vector / Stack .
The getConnection will Pop out elements and if not present should return a Message / Exception this is to your requirements .
A Static Code snippet which will populate the Stack once with the connection etc .
Does that Gives you Idea how to write the code ?

How to implement a domain?

Hi,
1 virtual network(192.168.0.x/24). 1 subnet: 192.168.0.4 to 192.168.0.254. 2 DNS Servers: 192.168.0.4 and 100.75.116.100 (DNS address when a new VM is created).
I have 10 VMs. 1 DC. By powershell the VMs has been set static IP addresses (the DC is 192.168.0.4)
The VMs were domain joined.
The problems are:
very slow or null internet speed (when the VM is new, the internet speed is fast).
domain joining using netbios name is impossible (need to use FQDN name for domain joining OK)
when domain joining a VM, occurs the following error(first welcome message, the error message):
The questions are:
How to implement a domain and mantain fast internet?
Is normal behavior the above error at domain joining?

Joining a domain should not affect your internet connection.
Try removing the second DNS address and see if your machine joins the domain.
