How to implement 'Quick Select' column in a query result table?

Hi,
I have a requirement in OAF to design a search page with 'Quick select' column.
One of the column in the query result table should be a quick select.
Once user clicks on the quick select column, we have to navigate back to the previous page with the row value selected.
Can anyone help me in this.

In table control, If you goto screen painter and goto table control properties ( f2 ), there is one check-box w/selColumn check that and give column name. Then add that column to your internal table.

How to implement place holder columns in data template

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to mimic the functionality of place holder columns in RDF using Data Templates in XML Publisher.
How can I call a pl/sql function at element level when we try to group records in the data template.
To make it simple , let us say I have a requirement to retrieve the address of an employee(address line 1,address line 2, city,country)
In RDF what I do is define 4 place holder columns to capture address attributes, and in a formula column I set values to these attributes. How do I implement this in XML Publisher data template.
When I tried to implement the above requirement using test variables, I was able to execute a pl/sql function after the group tag, but not within the group tag.
I got the result for calc_values3 , but didn;t get anythng for calc_values1 and 2

For this, you need to have a master query and child query.
1) In your master query you will have to identify one unique column and call a pl/sql pkg function which calculates all values for your place holder columns and inserts rows into a pl/sql table with the index as your unique column
ex: Master query returns
empnum name amount
1 scott 250
2 bob 350
and your calculated value is 10 percent of the amount
your pl/sql pkg should insert records into the pl/sql table like r(1):= 250*0.1 = 25 r(2):= 350*0.1 = 35
2) The child query will get executed for each row of you rmaster query, so you should be able to read the values based on which master records row it is executing for
Please bear in mind that you have to make sure that the report is not executed by two different people at the same time, else you have to consider session or any other unique identifier in addition to your master records unique identifier.

How to display only selected columns in the table on the tableview

I am displaying in the below tableview the data from the SFLIGHTS tables in the tableview using flow logic. It displays all the columns in the database table. How can I set in the code to display only selected columns and not all columns.
Also, in these columns displayed I want to make the key columns of SFLIGHT as non editable and the rest of the columns in SFLIGHT editiable. Can you please kindly share the code to implement this.

How to implement line selectability for a table control using table Wizard?

Hello SDN Community,
I have created a table control using the Table Wizard. I found my exact question in this forum, but unfortunately it had not been andsered. While I cannot paste a screen-print into this plane-text area, here are the steps I followed...
1) SE51
2) Create new screen 0100
3) Click Layout button
4) Clidk Table Control (with Wizard) and draw box on canvas.
5) Step is "Start" - click Continue
6) Step is "Name of Table Control" - provided name
7) Step is "Table Name" - provided name of dictionary table (AUFK)
8) Step is "Definition of Columns" - selected order numver and order text
9) Step is "Table Control Attributes" - Line Selectability is in display mode - cannot set it.
I would like to have a selectability column for my table. Would appreciate any insight into how to do this.

This is a puzzling...
For the table control wizard, in the Table Control Attributes step, I was able to get line selectability to open up by declaring a char01 data element at the beginning of my type.
The puzzling is in regards to the "Selection col. fld" entry field.
If I leave it blank and try to go to the next step, I get message "Enter the name of the selection column if you are using a program table"
So it looked like it wanted to know the name of my selection column. So I type in "CHAR1". and got the message "The field "CHAR1" for the selection column is already contained in the table."
Hmmmmm.... don't understand............

Hi, i can only find the quick selection tool. What i really need is the selection tool that only selects what you want it to and not everything around it.

You may be mixing and/or confusing terms here. The "circular selection tool" (Elliptical Marquee Tool) and the "quick selection tool" are two different things.
To avoid long explanations of how those work, I'll go right to what I suspect your problem is:
Based on your description, you're using the elliptical marquee tool, and not getting a hard-edged selection. The most common cause of that is you've got a feather value "stuck" in the marguee selection tools' settings. Put it back to 0.
It has nothing to do with "quick selection."

How to know the select stmt used in creating a table?

Hi,
If we create a table by selecting some records form another table, can we see the select statement used to create that table.
example: Create table emp2 as select * from emp where deptno=20;
is there any data dictionary table which stores select * from emp where deptno=20

No. The SELECT statement is not associated with the table in the data dictionary.
If the statement was executed recently, you may find the entire CREATE TABLE in the V$SQL view. Or, if you have licensed the AWR, you may find it in the DBA_HIST_SQLTEXT view. But there is no guarantee that the query will be in either view.

Filter in query result table not populated by criteria previously selected.

Hi Experts,
I'm currently working on the the Upgrade of our BW production line from
release 3.0b to 7.0:
Configuration of target system
BW system : Release 7.0
BEx Analyser : Release 2004s, Support Package9, Patch 1, Revision 321
Sap Gui 6.4
We're especially trying to check the non-regression of the non-converted queries in the new system (release 7.0).
And we get the following issue: After having selected the selection criteria in the selection window, the reminder of selected criteria is not done in the filter part of the target query result. Is it a normal behavior or not ?
Indeed, in the previous system configuration (BW 3.0b), the user is accustomed to seeing just above his result table the selection criteria that he had previously filled in in the selection window.
Please find herewith an example describing the problem.

In order to be more clear, hereunder an example:
- I have a field untitled "Business Division"in the selection window.*
- I fill in this field with the value "OND"
- I execute the query with this value for this field.
- The query result correclty appears.
- I click on the "Filter" button to display the Filter table with the columns "Navigation pane" and "Filter criteria".
- In the "Navigation pane", there is the field "Business Division".
- For me, the corresponding "Filter criteria" should be the value "OND", but nothing is displayed...

How to generate XML file from oracle database query result

Hi dudes,
as stated on the subject, can anyone suggests me how can i achieve the task stated above??
Here is a brief description of my problem:
I need to create a XML file once i query from the oracle database, and the query result returned from the database will be stored in XML file.
I'd searched around the JAXB, DOM, SAXP and the like basic concepts, but i still don't know how to start??
Any suggestions ???

Select * from v$asm_disk query results are not displayed in developer

Hi, executing select * from v$asm_disk query returns below error messages whereas select * from v$asm_diskgroup works fine.

Is there any way to get around this issue?

What product are you using? What version, what database? What user is the query being run by? (It may be a privileges issue)
