Filter in query result table not populated by criteria previously selected.
Hi Experts,
I'm currently working on the the Upgrade of our BW production line from
release 3.0b to 7.0:
Configuration of target system
BW system : Release 7.0
BEx Analyser : Release 2004s, Support Package9, Patch 1, Revision 321
Sap Gui 6.4
We're especially trying to check the non-regression of the non-converted queries in the new system (release 7.0).
And we get the following issue: After having selected the selection criteria in the selection window, the reminder of selected criteria is not done in the filter part of the target query result. Is it a normal behavior or not ?
Indeed, in the previous system configuration (BW 3.0b), the user is accustomed to seeing just above his result table the selection criteria that he had previously filled in in the selection window.
Please find herewith an example describing the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.
In order to be more clear, hereunder an example:
- I have a field untitled "Business Division"in the selection window.*
- I fill in this field with the value "OND"
- I execute the query with this value for this field.
- The query result correclty appears.
- I click on the "Filter" button to display the Filter table with the columns "Navigation pane" and "Filter criteria".
- In the "Navigation pane", there is the field "Business Division".
- For me, the corresponding "Filter criteria" should be the value "OND", but nothing is displayed...
Thanks in advance foryour help.

Steph

How to implement 'Quick Select' column in a query result table?
Hi,
I have a requirement in OAF to design a search page with 'Quick select' column.
One of the column in the query result table should be a quick select.
Once user clicks on the quick select column, we have to navigate back to the previous page with the row value selected.
Can anyone help me in this.
Thanks.Also refer the search exercise in the toolbox tutorials.
you can implement the quick search in the same way as update and delete buttons.

2.1.0.62: Exporting query results does not work if SQL has a join
I get an error message, when I try to export the following test case to any data format.
create table test1 (id number(2), text varchar2(5));
create table test2 (id number(2), text varchar2(5));
insert into test1 values (1,'test');
insert into test2 values (1,'test');
select t1.*
from
test1 t1,
test2 t2
where
t1.id=t2.id;
I try to translate my german error message to english:
"There are no valid columns for export available. Clob- or Blob-Columns are currently not supported"
I get this message, when I right click into the query result grid and select export and then any data format.
Hope that is not a double post but searching for export did not find results for 2.1.
The following SQL also produces the error:
select t1.* from test1 t1;
These SQLs can be exported though:
select * from test1 t1;
select t1.id from test1 t1;
I should have mentioned that I work with Windows XP and Oracle 10.2.0.4.

Edited by: dhalek on Oct 13, 2009 5:04 PMHi,
Dhalek.
I've got the same problem here.
In my SQL Dev, I disabled the Autopopup code completion insight in SQL Worksheet. (Tools - Preferences - Code Editor - Code Completion - untick the checkbox). Restart SQL Dev. Tried to export a query.
The same error message appears.
My workaround is to re-enable the autopopup and restart SQL Dev.
The disabled autopopup code completion insight caused me these
2.1 EA1: Bugs - cannot Export Data from Grid
2.1 EA2: Bugs on code completion for displaying column name
Hope this helps,

BSIS/BSAS tables not populated
Dear Experts,
I have a GL/account having too many items but FAGLL03 returns no items.
I have found that the reason is that tables BSIS and BSAS are not being populated with line items. however tables BKPF and BSEG in addition to FAGLFLEXA are all populated.
can you please assist why BSIS/BSAS are not populated thus FAGLL03 is not working? what is wrong with this GL account?
Thanks for your assistance.
SamirHmmm... Is it normal FI document or it's posted through some interface? If it's normal document and the following is right:
a) G/L account of the document is defined with 'line item' flag in this company code (SKB1 table)
b) the document exists in BSEG
c) BSEG-XKRES flag is 'X' on the line for this account
Then, if all mentioned above is correct, I'd open OSS note.

Sending Email with Query Result (Table Format)
Hi,
I have a query result from ExecuteSQL task e.g.:
ID Product
1 Pencil
2 Crayon
3 Eraser
I want to send an email with the above query result and I want it to be in Table format (such as in Microsoft Word with rows and column lines) to allow better readability to the receiver.
Is it possible in SSIS?
cherrieshIt has to be HTML format . Read Tony's article

ESS Bsns pkg Bnfts &Pymnt - Overview Drop down and table not populated
Hi All,
We have configured ESS business package. Payslips in form of PDF are available in Benefits and payment.
Overview dropdown and table are not getting populated.
I checked context node rem, vcdata and attribute overview_sel in VcRem2Selection comp.
They are not populated at any place as well. How does this work?
Please guide
Regards,
GangaHi Gangadharayya,
There are 2 ways of populating the dropdown.
Either u can create a simple type and bind the attribute to the SimpleType, or use the class ISimpleTypeModifiable and IModifiableValueSet to populate the values at run-time.
Hope this helps u

Entity Attribute Existence Check - Query Result Parameter not possible ?
I already read the section of the ADF BC Developer Guide (9.6.2 Implementing an Efficient Existence Check).
That works and maybe is the best solution, however I am working with a group of Forms Developers which are much more comfortable with writing SQL statements.
Natural thing for them in this case was to define a declarative compare validator with the following Query Result:
select PROD_ID from Products where PROD_ID=:ProdId
where :ProdId is ServiceRequest.ProdId
Is this possible with ADF BC ?
Other possibility is to define a List Validator with the following Query Result:
select PROD_ID from Products
but this is not performant.
I know the programmatic approach is always possible, but to make migration easier for Forms developers into the ADF BC world, the declarative SQL option should be available.
Thanks,
Claudio.This isn't possible out of the box in 10.1.3 since we don't support a mechanism to set the values of the bind variables. In 10.1.3, you would need to build a custom validation rule class (explained in section 26.9 "Implementing Custom Validation Rules") to make this declarative for others on your team.
I wouldn't recommend the list validator in 10.1.3 for anything but the most trivial uses. This is because it's current implementation retrieves all rows from the query, then does the attribute comparison in memory.
Among many, many other enhancements, we are greatly enhancing declarative business logic features of ADF Business Components for our 11g/Fusion release (the next major release), where this will be super-easy. -
Query results are not highlighted ?
Hi
I have made CO query "Cost Center", when i expand hierachy i my sumary results are not highlighted.
I have the same query for "Cost Elements" an everything is ok, summary results are highlighted.
Any idea what is wrong ?
RegardsOn each level of hierarchy there are results, but no highlight on them.
see this print screens http://picasaweb.google.pl/w.lukasz/Costs?authkey=Gv1sRgCJ3JxOH_h6f2_QE#
in "cost elements" on screens there is "yellow" highlight
but in "cost center" there is NO highlight.
That is the problem, any idea ?

3.1EA1: Query results do not display
The results of any query I run in 3.1EA1 do not show in the Query Result tab. When I run sqldeveloper.exe from the command prompt, there are no errors. Sqldeveloper 3.0 is fine.
Oracle Database: 10.2.0.4.0
Java version: 1.6.0_26
Operation System: Windows XP Prod sp3Hi Raghu,
Yes, you are correct. It seems to be related to SQLHistory. This is what I did.
-- Deleted everything in the SQLHistory folder as suggested.
-- Started SQLDeveloper and ran query from worksheet
-- Got results fine, but then immediately got a dialog box saying Migrating SQL history.
-- This produced an error
source: o.d.worksheet.sqlhistory
message: sun.nio.cs.StreamDecoder.forInputStreamReader (StreamDecoder.java:52)
-- After it finished, sql history was filled again with all the files.
-- Restarted SQLDeveloper and the problem was back.
-- Discovered in the SQLDeveloper directory (at same level as the SQLHistory folder) another file called SQLHistory.xml (presumably from a previous version which was the one being migrated)
-- Renamed the previous sqlhistory.xml file and the issue seems to have gone away since only my new SQL in the history folder now.
However, I assume that over time, the problem will come back when history gets to a certain size ? I did have about 1200 entries in my folder before deleting.
Will there be a fix for this, as I use sql history quite often ?
Hope this helps track down the problem.
Thanks,

</page>Hi,
Some of the column values are not getting populated or few rows which you are expecting is not getting populated?
Could you please try the following 2 changes, in both the cases, after executing the query, print all the query and rows in the VO using the below code (change your object names accordingly).
if(appraisalVO !=null)
AppraisalVORowImpl appraisalVORow = (AppraisalVORowImpl) appraisalVO.first();
if(appraisalVORow !=null)
int attrCount = appraisalVO.getAttributeCount();
writeLog("XXRBG",pageContext,"Attrbuute count "+attrCount);
String[] attributeNames = appraisalVORow.getAttributeNames();
for (int i = 0 ;i< attributeNames.length ;i++ )
writeLog("XXRBG",pageContext," Name "+attributeNames[i] +" = "+appraisalVORow.getAttribute(i));
1)
instead of calling the function to get the owning_person_id, hard code the value and check you are getting the expected result.
like,
vo.setWhereClause("PERSON_ID in (select selected_person_id from hr_working_person_lists where owning_person_id = 54)");
2)
instead of the below code
vo.setWhereClause("PERSON_ID in (select selected_person_id from hr_working_person_lists where owning_person_id = zen_person_details.get_person_id(:1))");
vo.setWhereClauseParams(null);
vo.setWhereClauseParam(0, eNum);
System.out.println("Params " + eNum);
try without binding the parameter like,
vo.setWhereClause("PERSON_ID in (select selected_person_id from hr_working_person_lists where owning_person_id = zen_person_details.get_person_id("+eNum+"))");
Thanks.

ARP table not populating mac address for previously reachable IP address
Router has been online and working fine with one BGP neighbor for almost 2 years and no downtime. 2 weeks ago, added a 2nd BGP peer. Everything worked fine for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden yesterday the 2nd BGP peer is disconnected and does not come back. ISP checks and sees everything looks fine on their end. We cannot even ping each other now.
Upon investigation, the ARP table is not even populating the MAC address for the BGP peer IP anymore (same local subnet). Stays "incomplete" in the table no matter what we do, including clearing arp table, changing IP address, etc.
Plug a laptop directly into the 2nd BGP peer FE port and replicate the IP addressing. Laptop cannot ping Router, but Router CAN ping laptop. Check ARP table, but STILL no mac address assigned and now not even the ARP table showing "incomplete".
Thinking it could be the FE interface, switch to the 2nd FE interface and perform same laptop test, this time with arbitrary IP addressing. Now cannot ping each other, no MAC in ARP table.
End up rebooting the router and lo-and-behold, everything is working normally again. 2nd BGP peer peers up instantly.
I should also mention that the 1st BGP peer worked flawlessly throughout, taking all the Internet load and having no issues throughout.
Also, the FE ports for the 2nd BGP peer are on an HWIC FE card plugged into the router. The 1st BGP peer is plugged into the built-in GE interface. 2901 running: c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M4.bin
Lastly, no router resource issues, no error messages, no logs. Just the BGP peer disconnecting.
I have never, in 20 years working with Cisco routers seen something like this before. This is the most fundamental aspect of IP and Ethernet that was not working.
Has anyone ever seen this behavior before??

Query remote table not working in PL/SQL
I have a problem that is killing me to figure out. Basically we trying to query a remote table through PL/SQL and it comes back with invalid column name for the table. But the table exists in the remote database and has the column. The query works fine from the same database outside of PL/SQL, just not in PL/SQL. I'll setup a test case below.
We have local database called DB1 and remote database called DB2. The table we are querying is called EMP.
First we create database link:
create database link DB2.WORLD connect to...
Test the link:
select ENAME from [email protected];
ENAME
SHAWN
Works fine.
Now we put this query inside a PL/SQL block:
declare
l_ename varchar2(20);
begin
select ename into l_ename from [email protected];
end;
This fails with the following error:
select ename
ERROR at line 274:
ORA-06550: line 274, column 7:
PL/SQL: ORA-00904: invalid column name
ORA-06550: line 271, column 3:
PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
ORA-06550: line 279, column 9:
PL/SQL: ORA-00904: invalid column name
ORA-06550: line 277, column 3:
PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
Now, I've tried changing how we select from the remote table, I've put the select statement in a cursor, tried creating a synonym which points to the remote table and selecting using the synonym in PL/SQL, it always returns the same error. But always works outside of PL/SQL.
Now the user we are connecting to the remote database as, has select on the EMP table, through a role, along with 30 other tables, all the other tables are able to be selected through the database link, in PL/SQL, it's just this one table.
Additionally I can go to another database, and create the same database link, and the query in PL/SQL works fine to the remote table. It's just this one table, from this one database, that doesn't work just in PL/SQL. Any ideas would be appreciated, I've exhausted everything.
Also, creating a copy of the table using "create table as select * from..." we can select from the copy of the table using PL/SQL through the database link. The problem is this is a central warehouse table, and is used my multiple applications and updated constantly, so dropping a recreating this table is a last resort.
Yes, this process did work, for over a year, then suddenly it stopped. Of course, no one made any changes to either database, that's always the case. I know the code didn't change though, it was still timestamped from a year ago.
Thanks in advance.Could this be a variant on an old favourite, viz privileges being granted through roles. We cannot use objects in PL/SQL if our privileges are assigned through a role.
Maybe what has changed is that instead of being granted privileges on EMP@DB2 directly the privileges have been re-organised so that your user has them granted through a role.
Cheers, APC -
Oracle Forms List Items :not populating list Dynamically using select Query
Hi ,
I need to create a list item. And the values to be populated in the list are from Database but I'm unable to populate from database.
Please help me out how to populate the values from database.
In Property Pallete we have Elements in List under Functional section , In this we have to manually enter the List values but we can't use any Query to Dynamically populate.
Thanks,
Kiran SangaWhen you need to fill a list with the result of a query, you'll have to do it at runtime.

Automatic Refresh of a Merged Power Query giving 'Table Not Registered' error
Scenario: I have 5 tables in my Azure VM SQL database associated with my ERP system. I have loaded all 5 tables into a 'Build Excel' workbook, merged the tables together and created a dataset that my users will be using. From that 'Build
Excel' workbook - I published to the BI catalog a data set simply called 'Customer information and Statistics' - This is searchable by my users and they don't have to go through the effort of combining the 5 tables.
I have a published workbook that uses the 'Customer Information and Statistics' data set and nothing else. I tried to schedule a refresh of the data and it failed (below is the error when I did a manual refresh):
OnPremise error: Sorry, the data source for this data connection isn't registered for Power BI. Ask your Power BI admin to register the data source in the Power BI admin center. An error occurred while processing table 'Customer Information and Statistics'.
The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.
So, going down that rabbit hole, I began the process of 'registering' this in Power BI - however, when I copied in the connection string it began walking me through a process of providing credentials to the 5 tables in my SQL server - that are already exposed
in my main data Sources. I figured I would continue and tried to use the service account credentials that my main data sources use and it would not properly authenticate.
Taking a step back it prompted a few questions:
Why am I being asked to register these 5 merged data sources that are already exposed in my base data sources?
Is my approach of creating 'Friendly named' Merged datasets for my users an incorrect approach?
Is there a different method I should be using to establish autorefresh on Merged datasets in these published workbooks using Power Query?
Thanks for the help -
Tom GroundsTom, can you submit this as a bug in the UI via the Smile Frown button?
