How to import schema?

I am using htmldb2.0...I have one schema in my system..I want to copy that schema into another system which also contains htmldb2.0...Can anyone say how to do this?

I want to know the version of database (9i,10g) ???
To export a schema,
On the database server, type
exp userid=system/xxxxx owner=your_schema file=your_schema.dmp log=exp_your_schema.log
To import the schema,
On the server where the 'import database' is
imp system/xxxxxx fromuser= "your_schema" touser="your_schema" file="your_schema".dmp commit=Y ignore=Y log=imp_"your_schema".log
Before that , verify that your schema is created in your database with APEX3.0
(elsewhere create user your_schema.....)
And after import,recompile all the objects if your schema contains procedures,packages,triggers...

How to import schema from another project when the present schema is already containing a node and its elements. And the imported schema has to be the next node in the schema.
Also kindly clarify the differences between import, include and redefine properties.

I have downloaded schema (spatial MVDemo schema) from oracle. To implement a functionality in obiee 11g i need to import the downloaded schema in to Oracle database.
some one please give me step by step commands to acheve the same by using sql plus.

How to import multiple XML schemas in Toplink.

I try to import multiple Schema(defined by EPCGlobal) in toplink This schema imports few other schemas and all are available in the same location.
For this I tried to create a project by selecting XML radio button, and specified an XSD. The classes are getting generated for this file. After this, I try to import all other schema's using the Import schema option. I'm able to import it. but, I'm not able to generate classes for the schemas imported recently. Can you please let me know whether this is the expected behaviour..?

I have examined your XML schemas and do not believe that the problem is due to the import. Instead it is because the XML schema being imported is itself invalid. I have emailed you the specific correction to your XML schema. It was an error related to the namespace qualification of the type in one of your element declarations.

So after analysing this log file, i created
the appropriate drives and folders... as the
import statement doesn't see them.
E:\ORADATA G:\ORDATA etc...
And i started to [b]IMPORT ONE MORE TIME. with:

Import schema to a different tablespace

I've exported my instance:

after I've created new tablespace and new user:

In new instance there are 2 tablespaces (TOM, MAX)
I tried 2 solution:
1) I've taken the tablespace TOM offline in the new instance, but when I import fromuser=TOM touser=MAX.............
I get error because not exist tablespace TOM
2)I removed MAX's quota on the TOM tablespace in the new instance.
ALTER USER MAX QUOTA unlimited ON TOM;
but when I import I get alway the same error:
ORA-01658: unable to create INITIAL extent for segment in tablespace TOM
I know That I must encrease tablespace TOM for avoid this error, but I must create 6 new users in 6 different tablespaces and I'd to increase tablespace TOM too much (how many GB?).
how can I import schema to a different tablespace?

I don't understand why you cannot import TOM's scheme
to new instance, because you say that you' ve TOM
tablespace in the database.
Check size of it, may be you need to increase size or
you can TOM tablespace set autoextended.
Also, you can set MAX tablespace is default in new database and set TOM tablespace is readonly.
Then import cannot create object in TOM tablespace
and create this in MAX tablespace.

How to Import a XSD into a ESB.

Hai,
Can anyone make me clear how to import XSD file(PurchaseOrder) into the ESB
using File Adapter. If this is BPEL we can simply change the Input message type
by invoking XSD while creating the project.
In ESB FileAdapter's Define Schema for Native format we will be invoking a
purchase order schema file.
I have doubt in the Step 3:(Record Organization), Step 4: (Specify elements) and
in the Step 5: (Specify Delimiters) of the Native Format Builder what to specify
correctly in these steps inorder to give purchase order inputs through ESB.

To import an XSD, follow these :
1: Keep you project selected from the "application navigator".
2: From 'File' Menu, Select 'import' and then select 'Web Source' and after that specify the directory having the schema files.
What doubts you have regarding the steps.
Step 3 : It specifies what type of records you input file has, whether single/multiple records and their type. Anyways if you sample an input 'Purchase Order' File, this step will be automatically done for You.
Step 4: You just need to fill in the only empty space here to give a name to identify your records. For ex: 'Purchase Order' or whatever you want.
Step 5: Delimiters again are used depending on the type of input file(CSV/text/Fixed-Length) you have sampled.

for example

On 10g

HL7 schema modification error with imported schema namespace

I have created a variant of one of the out of the box HL7 schemas. The changes were made to the related Segments schema. I have a custom namespace identified on both the "master" schema and one on the modified schema which is being
imported into the "master". I have verified that the namespace of the imported schema matches the namespace identified in the import statement of the master schema. However, I am getting the following error and I'm not sure how to proceed.

Reason: The namespace attribute 'http://MyProject/2XHL7/MDM/Segments_23' of an import should be the same value as the targetNamespace 'http://microsoft.com/HealthCare/HL7/2X/2.3/Segments' of the imported schema.

Indeed, however, the namespace of the import is same as the value of the imported schema, but the namespace of neither schema is http://microsoft.com/HealthCare/HL7/2X/2.3/Segments,
since I changed it when I made the modification. That namespace does not exist in my project, nor does it exist locally, so i'm not sure where this error message is trying to lead me.

How to import Process Flows without OWB

Hi,
I'm having trouble deploying my process flows to my PROD environment.
Process flows complile and run ok in TEST environment, and we are suppoused to deploy in both environments (TEST and PROD) from the same OWB repository, which is correct.
But due to technical problems with the net, by the moment I cannot see the PROD server from OWB repository installation, so I need to deploy manually (using scripts via SqlPlus or some other tool).
I can export the PFs from the 'generate' option provided by OWB, so I can get the file with the PFs' source code.
What I don't know is:
1) how to import/create that process flows in the new instance manually (I mean from outside OWB) from the exported file.
2) where should I create them, in the workflow instance or in the owb repository instance?
I'm working with OWB 10gR2
Can somebody help me with this?

I dropped all users except for schemas related to database structure such as SYS,SYSTEM,OUTLN,SYSMAN,XDB, WMSYS. I do not have access to original database because it's belongs to another organization. Only I got is dump file and log which I know the exp is full database with username SYS. The original database and and destination database (which I handle) probablly have different features (when create database, optional scripts run from rdbms/admin might be different). I did use IGNORE=Y every time. I tried SYS or SYSTEM to import but always are scared by too many errors.

1. 1. what is the time difference between for this two utilities to export the data for a schema, i.e "expdp" and "exp"?Go for EXPDP
2. If i using COMPRESSION option in "expdp" utility, how many times data size will be reduced to original size?When “Y”, export will mark the table to be loaded as one extent for the import utility. If “N”, the current storage options defined for the table will be used. Although this option is only implemented on import, it can only be specified on export.
3. 3. With out importing the data, how can i check the data which is exported, is correctly exported or not? You can do import with show=y option. This will not import any thing in the database. this will only generate the Sql file and your Export file can be validated. This will work similar to normal import except that this will not insert anything in the database.

Import Schema Confusion

I have 9i on Microsoft WIndows 2003.
Each night I do a full export of the Database using the Full=Y in the export command.
As a general test of the export, on another empty 9i Database I perfrom the import using the Full=Y option.
My question is, If I have only 1 user defined schema, how do I just import that schema only as when you do the Full=Y it actually attempts to import all the SYSTEM schemas and you get an error saying "object already exists".
The import completes and you get the user schema that I need but I get the feeling that I'm incorrectly using the Import.
The option of doing Full=Y is that I don't have to create the User, Tablespace or the datafile! Thats why I wish to use Full=Y
Have I misuderstood how to import a schema?

I knopw what your syaing would work but I'm trying to do it with minimal effort as there are lots of schemas and tablespaces and I would like to retain these tablespaces not use the Users one that is the default.
What I'm trying to acieve is an emulation of my production Database user schemas on another test Database.
When I import using the FULL=Y, it creates all the users tablespaces, datafiles etc. However, It also attempts to import all the System, olap etc schemas and tablespaces which is not required. I just thought there is some way to exclude the System schemas when importing using Full=Y.

I am trying to import the DU to HANA cloud system via link in cockpit - SAP HANA Life Cycle management.
While importing from File, it gives the error "Activation failed atleast for 1 object"
Do we have to create schema for the DU in studio before we start the import from cockpit??
Please let me know.Because in studio, before importing the DU, we create the schema and start the import.
Is the same procedure to be followed for cockpit also?

Hi Indhu,
first of all "SAP HANA Life Cycle management" is not "(HCP cloud) cockpit", but another tool provided by HANA and linked from cockpit only.
Frankly speaking I don't know how DU import in HANA LM WebUI works. Nevertheless you have always a DB schema. I did always with HANA studio, there is no need to create an addtional schema.
You may connect HANA experts for your question.
