How to include wildcard in FTP adapter header variable?

I have two partner links that use FTP adapters. The first one puts a file on the FTP server. It specifies a dynamic outbound file name based upon an input variable and the timestamp in the format "test_BATCHID_yyyyMMddHHmmss.csv" (e.g. test_1011_20050925153059.csv). This part works as expected.
The second partner link is supposed to pick up a file on the same FTP server. This inbound filename will be based upon the outbound filename and another timestamp in a format such as "originalfilename.yyyyMMddHHmmss.txt" (e.g. test_1011_20050925153059.csv.20050926091541.txt). I have created a Transform action with a mapping to convert the outbound filename and assign it to the inbound header variable. It concatenates the outbound filename and ".*.txt" within the mapping. The inbound header shows up as test_1011_20050925153059.csv.*.txt in the audit, but the process hangs at the receive activity and the file never gets retrieved. Perhaps the asterisk is being interpreted literally?
Does anyone know how to specify a wildcard character in an xpath expression in a way that it will be interpreted as a true wildcard? Or is there another way to tell the inbound adapter to look for a dynamic filename using wildcards?

BPEL patch 1 supports performing a synchronous read using a BPEL invoke activity. The following forum post shows how to configure a read adapter manually.
Re: Help! Three questions about FileAdapater.
The subsequent patches of JDeveloper allow such an apdater to be configured automatically.
ps: This adapter can be used to read a single file only i.e. you cannot use a wild character.

  • BPEL 10.1.2 Correlate with Ftp Adapter Header filename

    Hi,
How can I create correlation sets with the filename provided by the Ftp
    Adapter Header??
Or if it is not straightforward ? How can I implement a workaround?
We are using the 10.1.2 version (OCS and Content Services constraints).
The idea beyond the requirement is to implement a process similar to the CorrelatedHelloWorld sample but instead of creating the correlation with the file content, we'd like to use the filename returned in the Ftp Adapter Header.
An asynch process is initiated with a filename as an input, then blocks on a receive activity with the Ftp Adapter. The process terminates when a file is polled whose filename corresponds to the one given as an input of the process.
    Thanks
    JO

IMHO this is not working in 10.1.2, I thought it was an issue in this release. It could be solved in 10.1.3

  • How to include a button in report header like rowspan? &logfile generation?

I am really new to this form and I have some questions on the APEX HTML DB:
The project I need to work on is like this: Based on some criteria, I need to do a database lookup. Then in the result, I need to be able to edit the individual record. So far it is no problem. Here comes the part that I am not sure how to handle or if it can be handled.
    1.     We need to have the ability to copy down certain columns value to selected rows. Therefore, a "copy down" button needs to be included right under the column header cell. For example, based on certain criteria, the following product information is returned: product description, serial number, price, category etc. The “COPY DOWN” button needs to be listed right under the “serial number” table header and before the first row of the result, like “rowspan” in html table header. Once you click on “copy down”, the first rows’s serial number will be copied to all selected rows “serial number”. – Can a button be put right under a column header? If so, can I even reference the cell value in javascript?
    2.     Since we are doing the batch update, I need to have the ability to maintain a logfile to include date and time and what information is modified. – Can I generate a logfile from APEX HTML DB?
I am not sure APEX HTML DB is a good candidate for the above two tasks.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi user572980,
Welcome to APEX... the more you'll do with it, the more you'll like it.
    1) Are you using a Tabbed Form? Or are you in a report? I try to get a better idea what you're trying to do. Did you already have a look at the templates? You can have a template for the report for ex., in that you can adapt like you wish (in your case put a button under the column header).
You can also reference the cell values, but for that I should know where you're in (form, report). When you click right on the page and have a look at Page Source you see what item (reference) it is.
    2) You can make a logfile yes. Are you using packages to do the batch update? In that you can make some code to store the history. In otherwords, out-of-the-box in APEX I don't think it exists, but with PLSQL you can do it (so also in APEX). For ex. the plsql package stores it in a history table and you built a report on top of that.

  • How to use Wallets for FTP Adapter

    Hi,
Can someone point to a document that shows how we can make use of wallets for FTP Adapter.
    Thanks

    Hi,
When you configure the Connection Factory for FTP Adapter in Admin Console, provide the following values for the attributes like the hostname, username, password, port and the path of remote location as where
you want to write the file in remote Server i.e., ftpAbsolutePathBegin. Please fill this
attribute with the path like /soa/ftp/file (example path). If you are writing to a remote FTP server you need to create a Connection factory for that as above.
Please try this and let me know...
    Thanks,

  • How do I schedule Sender FTP adapter?

    Hi.
I have to run a number of weekly processes. I have to ensure that these processes are run night time only on thursdays.
These processes suppose to read from FTP. How could I schedule BPM this way ?
I tried to do it how it is described in the Siva Maranani's blog:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/weblogs.sdn?blog=/pub/wlg/1672. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
However it looks like FTP/FILE adapter can not be "read".
What would be the other option for me ?
    Sincerely,
    Evgeny.

    Hi,
You can schdule any adapter (not only FTP)
    1. Start the Runtime Workbench
    2. Display All Components
    3. Click on Adapter Engine
    4. Click on Communication Channel Monitoring
    5. Click on Availability Time Planning (upper right corner)
You can create different schedules for all communication channels defined.
Schedules can be of type daily, weekly, monthly or one-time. You can as well specify the start time, duration, etc. of each task

  • How to include X-IDSSessionID in every header and copy the AuthToken from the previous response

    Hello,
The business process is to login  and logout using Web HTTP/HTML protocol in LR 11.52; while I am trying to login to the website and after several attempts keep getting  error-500. One of the suggestion was to  copy the X_IDXSessionID to each request.  Also applied correlation but keep getting the authentication error in the session.
My concern:How to include X-IDSSessionID in every header and copy the AuthToken from the previous response into the current request header?
I got the X-IDXSessionID and X-Allscripts-AuthToken from the snapshot response and request tab. Thanks.

are you looping of this input with a for each?
/yourdata/details[1] should return always the first detail element.
or before the for each do an assing of this first detail element to "generic_details_var"
and use this var in every looping iteration (in an assign or as input for xquery)

    Hi,
You will have to modify the screen via SE51 (program SAPMF05A, screen 100). Ask to your ABAP team to help you, though such a modification should be carefully considered.
By the way, is it a user-defined field or field that should be there and is just missing? If the last is true, it could be a bug and solved by relevant OSS correction.

  • Need to Pass filename for archived file to FTP adapter using SynchRead

    Hi
I am archiving the source file which i am reading using an FTP adapter, Operation- SynchRead.
In my case as the source filename is dynamic( abc_<timestamp>.xml) hence before the SynchRead, I am using a FTP List adapter to get the filename.
Currently, the archived file is getting name in pattern: encryptedToken_yyyymmdd_hhmmss.(e.g. wQ2c3w7Cj7Y6irWnRKqEu77_jD7kLtj6Uc0QCZIyjC4=_20121122_012453_0305)
I need to pass the sourceFilename(which i am getting from FTPList adapter) for the archived file also.
Thanks in advance for the help!
    Regards,
    Achal

    Hi Neeraj,
While trying the above alternative, i am facing an issue when my source file is a .csv file. The file is getting recreated with the original filename and file content but without header.
As per the requirement i need the original file to be recreated. The header of .csv file has the field names.
Please let me know how should i configure my FTP adapter to read the header of the .csv file as well.
    Thanks,

  • BPEL Process with multiple file types using one FTP adapter is not working

i created a bpel process which will fetch the files from remote location using FTP adapter.
Now the process works for only one format or file type like *.xls.
How can i use more than one file format in one FTP adapter.
    OR
is there any other way to do it.
file type assignation is 5th step in FTP adapter configuration.
i have tried *.xls,*.csv and *.xls;*.csv and *.xls:*.csv by seperating with comman, colon, space... still not working.
i read the documentation *.* will not work.. for one file format it's working fine.
looking forward for reply as soon as possible.

Are you positive that it is not working? I'm not sure how you can use one FTP adapter for multiple file types unless the underlying data is exactly the same format or you are processing it as opaque data. Sometimes when a FTP adapter chokes on a file with a bad structure it doesn't create a BPEL instance, it simply moves the bad file to a separate folder.
So I assume you are using opaque as the data type instead of using an XSD element?
That said, I don't think you can put two separate file types in the filter. Is it possible for you to do something like: CommonFileName*.* or do you have similar files with other extensions?
I know the above probably isn't of much help, but I had so many problems with the FTP adapter and its lack of features that I am writing my own. Unfortunately that is a large undertaking and there isn't any good documentation of JCA resource adapter / BPEL PM integration.

  • SFTP with FTP Adapter - Missing class: com.maverick.ssh.SshTransport

I am trying to use the SFTP with FTP Adapter for a project requirement.
I have followed the steps as mentioned in the below link

Have configured the oc4j_ra.xml file, but after creating a sample BPEL process with the FTP adapter, got this error message in the log file.

Could anyone please help in this?
    OR
Provide steps on how to use SFTP with FTP Adapter.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
As per client's requirement, we shouldn't be using java service for this functionality.
And as you said, the oracle adapters are not taking anywhere, but guess have no other choice..

  • Sending Email When FTP Adapter Errors Out

    Hello everyone,
I am developing a very simple interface to grab a file from a directory and ftp it to a partner's server. Now I want to be able to check if an error occurs when I send the file so I can send a notification e-mail to the administrator and move the file to an Error-Archive directory.
Some of the errors that could happen are:
    1. Partner server is down
    2. FTP Username or password is wrong
    3. FTP account does not have permissions to write to the Partner server
    4. ...etc
I have defined an Integration process and for the block where I ftp my file, I defined an exception which I catch in an exception branch. In the Exception branch, I have then defined steps to send notification emails and move the file to an error-archive directory. But unfortunately all the steps of the Integration Process seems to pass, although the FTP Adapter throughs an error.
I'm not sure how can I get the FTP adapter errors to be passed back to my integration process. I already searched in the service market place for OSS notes and also searched the SDN but I can't find any helpful information.
There is one OSS note, 821267, that mentions the use of System Acknowledgements. I'm not sure if this will help me and I don't know how to set it up.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to handle this particular scenario? Did anyone implement System Acknowledgements with the File/FTP adapter?
    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Hi,
To do the alert configuration as suggested, please go through the information below.
From SP 14 on PMI-free alerting was introduced. That means before SP 14 one has to configure and activate the End-to-End Monitoring, and to schedule the report SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET in order to extract the alerts from the PMI data. For SP 14 and higher, that's not longer necessary.
If no alerts are being delivered, please check if "Suppress multiple alerts of this rule" is checked for your rule.
For SP 14 and higher you could also have a look at the report sxmsalert_logreader. This report shows some information about alerts being created or not.
You'll find more information about trouble shooting the alerting in SAP Note 913858.
Also just check if this batch program (RSALERTPROC) is running or not.
The links below on Alert Management (ALM) will be of good help to you:

Also, In ALRTCATDEF, go to SETTINGS--> CONFIGURATION. By default, the option selected is INTERNAL PROCESSING. Select the option SMTP FORWARDING AS XML and give the email id. This will enable you to send an email alert whenever an error occurs in XI.

  • SOA FTP Adapter Performance Optimization

The application scenario is as below
There is a remote FTP service which receives real-time XML files (may be 2 files per second). In my SOA 11g application, I am using FTP adapter to connect to the remote FTP server. The FTP adapter polls for new files based on the file creation timestamp and after processing, deletes the files. All good so far, no issues at all.
However, there is a huge backlog in the files. How can improve or speed up the FTP adapter process to match or better the remote FTP file creation rate? Please note I am not doing much processing here, just perist the files to a database. The consuming application expects real-time file feed.
There should be some configuration in SOA FTP adapter to optimize the performance and beat the file spitting FTP monster.
    Thanks

However, the inbound FTP location receives around 30 files in a second max. How do I configure the FTP adapter to beat this rate. I looked through the document link and tried few trials
    MaxRaiseSize: 20
    SingleThreadModel: both true and false
    ThreadCount:20
However, I still cannot beat the rate at which the files are put to this location. Please what configuration changes shhould I consider.
    Thanks

  • FTP adapter - how to omit output directory

    Hi,
I am trying to FTP a file to AS400 server, using the FTP adapter in 10.1.3.1
My requirement is to not specifiy the output directory (I need to FTP in my $HOME directory, where I get to, once I logon).
The GUI wizard does not allow you to omit output directory, so I put a logical name, andd then in bpel.xml I try to omit the value (assuming that it would then default to the home directory). But it does not work this way, when I deploy it it puts a null for the logical name (seeing a missing value), and then tries to search for directory named 'null' on the server.
I tried using '.' or '..' but in vain...
Any clues, how can i work-around this ?
    Thanks.

you can set the destination folder at runtime using the ftp adapter outbound header. But you have to specify some folder name.
