How to increment table key field automaticly?

Hallo Guys,
I need to increment ID-field in DB table. Another record in table means id = id+1.
Is there any FM how to do it dynamicly or automaticly? Or is there a special setting in
table(data element) so I don't have to do it in my program by inserting new record?

You should use a number range with internal numbering , and FM NUMBER_GET_NEXT (NUmber range: Assigns next free number).
Number ranges are managed by transaction SNRO.

How to set a key field in a local provider for BW workspace

Hi Experts,
I've created a local provider through BOBJ analysis for excel / Workspace designer in a BW workspace. However, all the dimensions by default are not having the key field enabled and I'm not able to enable the key field through BW workspace. Also I see the Fact Index Without Key is enabled by default in technical settings, which is not allowing me to select "Fact Index with Key" either. When I go to edit mode, it says "Analytic Index XXX can only be changed in workspace designer". I even tried to go into workspace designer and by selecting the necessary local provider, I coudn't find an option under Local Provider->Reload Provider->Reload (With Changes)->Choose File->Edit Columns to enable the key field(s) for the dimensions.
Can you please help to locate how to enable the key field for dimensions in local provider.

There's nothing to solve. If Reader (XI only) is used only PDF files can be selected. This is how it's supposed to work (although I agree it's silly and should be changed).

How to make a key field manadatory, in a Z-Table (SE11)

Hi,
I've created a Z-table is se11 and one of the key fields is IWERK. Now the user does not want this field to be blank when they enter data into the table via SM30.
Does anyone know how to make this field so that a blank entry is not acceptable.

Hi Robert!
One way would be to adjust SM30 to a mandatory field (in SE11 of course), but this field sounds like you can assign T001W as a check table. In the foreign key definition, you can give a error message, which is called in case of wrong entries in screens -> there is no empty entry in T001W, you can only maintain valid values and got a value list.

P.S.: No, you need to change SE11->Table maintenance generator->Enviroment->Modification->Maintenance Screens->Element list->Tab Special attr. column Input. Set 'required'. Otherwise empty is still allowed

How to delete a key field in a Transparent table

Hi,
I have created a Transparent table Zemployee in which there are 4 fields ( id, name, job, hiredate). I intend to make primary key consists of 2 fields (id, name) but by mistake I have included job field as well.
Now I want to change job field from a key field to non-key field, I use SE11 to display the maintainance of the Zemployee table, unmarked the key label column on job field then I save and activate the table but the system fail to activate the Zemployee table.
So now, what shoul I do to solve this problem ?

I have tried again and it work well ( use SE14 as you talk). and now I make job field become key-field again and use se11 to change it to non-key field and it work well too. So I think the problem maybe at the network or somethings else.

Ztable with key field automatically updated..

I have created a Ztable and assigned a t-code and table view.
I want to know whether it is possible when I am filling new entries, the key field should be automatically populated to the next number(+1 to the last key field) and should be read only
(example in am zemp table empno is key field and when filling the employee details, system should prompt me the next empno(read-only) and ask me to enter the other details).

for each employee u must insert new row and increment the emploee_no.
In fieldcatalog the field should be non editable mode.i.e ex:wa_fieldcata-edit = 'x'.
pass this parameter for key field it will bw only in non editable mode.remainning fields r editable.
try for this ..

Table Key field Question

Hi All,
According to the requirement I have to make the CURR type field as the key field in one of the table. But dureing activation it's throwing the below warning :
Key field <Field name> has num. type CURR: Buffering not possible, Transport restricted
Message no. DT607
Diagnosis
A numeric type was used for a key field. A table of this sort cannot be buffered.
When buffering, the table records for numeric values cannot be stored in plain text. Therefore, no entries are found when buffered numerical values are compared in the WHERE condition, although the table can contain entries satisfying the compare criterion.
The contents of the table cannot be transported if you specify the full key. You can only tranport table contents specified with a character field, up to the first occurrence of a numeric key field.
Procedure
You can enter "no buffering" as an attribute of the technical settings and then repeat the activation process. The table is not buffered.
If you want to buffer the table, you must replace the type in the key field by a character type, i.e. that you must modify the table.
If you want to transport the contents of a table, you can only do so for records specified by a character key, up to the first occurrence of a numeric field.
Is this will be a problem when we transport the entries of the table from DEV to QA ???
If yes how we can solve this problem??

you cannot transport entries with a transport request (TABU)
but it should be no problem to fill table in another system with your own export-/import program per file-download/upload or per RFC.

How to Pass table-structure-fields data to BRF PLUS Application

Dear Eperts,
i have a question related to BRF Plus management through abap program.
In brf plus application end, Field1,field2,field3 these 3 are importing parameters.
Table1->structure1->field4,field5 this is the table,with in one structure is there and 2 fields.
in my abap program, i am getting values of fields let us take field1,field2,field3,field4,field5.
And my question is
1) How to pass fields to BRF Plus application from abap program.
2)How to pass Table data to BRF Plus application from abap program.
3)How to pass Structure data to BRF Plus application from abap program.
4)How to get the result data from BRF Plus application to my abap program.
And finally , how to run FDT_TEMPLATE_FUNCTION_PROCESS.
How do i get the code automatically when calling the function in brf plus application.

Hi guys
I am trying to configure AX 2012 (R3) to populate the Payment Reference field automatically when processing payments through a payment journal. I have looked for a number sequence in the AR/AP parameters but so far with no luck.

Hi Raj,
Declare a fields symbol of type table, see below syntax:
FIELD-SYMBOLS <FS> [<type>|STRUCTURE <s> DEFAULT <wa>].
and then create an internal table and write the below code;
ASSIGN itab to <fs>.
Refer below eg:
TYPES: BEGIN OF line,
         col1 TYPE c,
         col2 TYPE c,
       END OF line.
DATA: wa TYPE line,
      itab TYPE HASHED TABLE OF line WITH UNIQUE KEY col1,
      key(4) TYPE c VALUE 'COL1'.
FIELD-SYMBOLS <fs> TYPE ANY TABLE.
ASSIGN itab TO <fs>.

How to find tables and fields in the standard program.

Hi to all,
              I am very new to ABAP,
            i am willing to write Report ,that is if i enter the vendor number i have to get item,quantity , name...with dateetc....
My approach was : i went to ME2L and i gave vendor number and date in that then i got some data ,then i got the program of that list ( it was there in bottom right) i.e, SAPMSSY0 .
           Then i entered in SE38,in that i go with Display Object LIst to find out the tables and fields,but i failed to found.
My question is : I can write the reports if i know the fields and tables location....
                          Here i want to know the ,if i enter the Vendor No, i have to get the regarding information about that NO,_for that i have to know the fields and tables_ of item and cost ....every thing ...
       if my question was not clear please ask me i will explain you again...
      Can you help me how to find...

   Goto transaction SE84 then follow the path
SE84-->ABAP DICTIONARY--->FIELDS---->TABLE FIELDS-->ENTER THE TABLE OR FIED NAME you want to find
    and EXECUTE the programm you will get all the information regarding that field or table.

Hi ,
Can you be more specific on your question.
If it is Primary key of a table then in transaction SE11 type the Table name and click on display button.
It will open a table, in that click on the Fields tab where you would be able to see Primary keys being checked under the column name 'key'.
If it is foreign key, you can find that in the same table in the entry help/check tab under column name 'Foreign key'checked and giving the table where it exists as primary key.

How to find Tables and Fields from R3 that some InfoSource use

Hi people,
I already know how to get the table or fields from R3 that some InfoSource use by "Portal SAP" that our friend here answered.
Now, I would like to know if there is some way to get this but using some transaction in the ECC6 (R3) or BW.
I ask by that because I will be some situation that I will have to know tables and fields that some InfoSource use and maybe there isn't in the Portal SAP.
Obs.: I don't know ABAP, so I would like some way that doesn't use Debug (ABAP), if it is possible.

In many cases you will be able to get documentation from help.sap.com regarding the tables and fields used by standard datasources. For example for all the Sales and Distribution datasources you can refer the below link

I have the problem to get the handle for IUserTabledMD.
userTablesMD = (IUserTablesMD) getCompany().getBusinessObject(SBOCOMConstants.BoObjectTypes_oUserTables);
does not work as in VB (getCompany() gets the ICompany handle).
and
userTablesMD = SBOCOMUtil.getUserTablesMD(getCompany(),"");
needs an additional String!?!?!?!?
How to get the handle to create new user defined tables?
I think Fields needs the same methods.
