How to insert customized HTML tags?

Hi
I insert a lot of tags like
or say .
Is it possible in Dreamweaver CS5 to extend a list of insertable tags with my customized tags and do steps like
select some text (say “some text”),
them choose a tag from the list (say .)
A fragment “ some text” will be inserted into the file instead of selected “some text”.
Thank you in advance.

Have you used the Snippets folder to store reusable code fragments?
I use my snippets folder often. Go to an insertion point in your document and double click on the Snippet.

Another option is to create and use commands from History steps:

• Inserting custom HTML tags into a HTMLDocument to be displayed in a JEditor

Does anyone know how to insert custom tags into a HTMLDocument to be displayed in a JEditorPane?
I have tried using the following code,
kit.insertHTML( doc,
jep.getCaretPosition(),
"<testtag>FFFF</testtag>",
0,
0,
new HTML.UnknownTag("testtag") );When the above code is run the handleStartTag, handleEndTag and handleText methods are called on the HTMLReader but nothing is inserted into the document model? Can anyone help?
I have created an instance of HTML.UnknownTag,
public static HTML.Tag testTag = new HTML.UnknownTag("testtag");I have subclassed HTMLEditorKit and overridden the getParser() method,
protected Parser getParser(){
DTD dtd = null;
try {
dtd = createDTD( DTD.getDTD("html32"), "html32" );
} catch ( Exception e ) {
e.printStackTrace();
dtd.getElement( "testtag" );
Parser p = new ParserAdaptor( new DocumentParser( dtd ) );
return p;
}I have subclassed HTMLDocument and HTMLDocument.HTMLReader and created a TagAction for my new tag.
The following code works fine, the custom tag is in the document model,
String contents =    "
"
+ "
"
+ "<testtag>Here is some text</testtag>"
+ "
"
+ "
";
((HTMLDocument)jep.getDocument()).setPreservesUnknownTags(true);
jep.setText( contents );

I've been trying to get
insert working in an editor but it seems to be a quite difficult task even if it's only about inserting a couple of tags into the right slot! This is the closest I got:
HTMLDocument doc = (HTMLDocument)editor.getDocument();
int start = editor.getCaretPosition()
int paraStart = doc.getParagraphElement(start).getStartOffset();
int paraEnd = doc.getParagraphElement(start).getEndOffset();
String insideBlockQuotes = doc.getText(paraStart, paraEnd - paraStart);
doc.setOuterHTML(doc.getParagraphElement(start),"

"+insideBlockQuotes+"

");
This is how it works: Get the current paragraphs start and end positions, read the text between the start and end into a string, replace the paragrapElement with

..the text from string..

.
This works 'in about' but it's far from perfect.. it has the following problems:
1. It looses all formatting from the quoted paragraph (bold etc. tags from the quoted part)
2. It assumes that the paragraphElement was a
(could have been another element too!)
3. It's ugly
Anybody come up with a better way to use blockquote?

• How to insert custom HTML before /body ?

I love that I can insert custom HTML in the
of a page in Muse.
However, I need to add custom HTML just before the end of
.
Namely, I want to insert custom Jquery calls just before
. I can't do this in the
.
However, other uses for other people might include inserting Analytics tracking code before
, as this is more optimum than in the
.
I've tried using a Custom HTML widget, but even if I put it in the footer of my page, it still ends up appearing in the rendered HTML before Muse's Javascript. I need it to come after Muse's Javascript.
Thanks in advance.

• How would I insert custom HTML built in a managed Backing Bean into a page?

I believe I could solve a project requirement if I could generate/build custom HTML in a managed Backing Bean and insert or place the output between f:verbatim elements.
The custom HTML output would be similar to:

New Search

Subscriber

Device List

New Device

Device

Inbox List

Resend

Looking at the JSF 1.1_01 API, I don't believe there is a placeholder element?
What is the best approach to do this?
Thanks,

This is exactly what you want:<h:outputText value="#{myBean.htmlString}" escape="false" />where getHtmlString() just returns a plain String object with the HTML in it.
A custom component would be a more clever solution anyway.

• How to render custom JSP tags

We have our own custom JSP tag libraries (some of them extend the Struts tags, but many do not) and want those to render correctly in the design view.
Is that supported by NitroX Struts, or will it only work with built-in Struts tags?
If it is supported, how does one get NitroX to run the custom tags?

It is possible to customize many aspects of the rendering of a custom tag. This is done using a combination of an M7 specific metadata, and standard css rules.
For example, you can change the label, icon and border of a custom tag by doing the following steps:
1) Create a folder named "nitrox" where your tld file is located. For example if you have "/WEB-INF/app.tld" then create a
folder "/WEB-INF/nitrox/".
2) In the nitrox folder created above, create a file named "app.tlei" (for Tag Library Extra Information). The file name used here should match the name of the tld file. In this case "app".
3) Paste the following content in the app.tlei file:
<taglib-extrainfo>
<css-uri>app.css</css-uri>
<tag name="myTag">
<display-name>My Tag</display-name>
<rendering-label>{tag-name} ({name})</rendering-label>
<small-icon>images/myTag.gif</small-icon>
</tag>
</taglib-extrainfo>
All customization tags are optional.
4) Create the css file referenced from the tlei file above (in this example app.css in the same directory containing the tlei file).
5) Paste the following content in the app.css file:
myTag {border: 1 solid red; display: "inline"}
This will render the tag as inline (i.e as one graphical object) even if the tag has nested content.
In addition, you can use any standard css style property.
You can customize other tags in the same fashion.
If a custom tag inherits from a Struts tag, then the tag can inherit the full built-in tag customization as shown in the following example:
Suppose you have a tag named "myText" that extends the Struts html:text form field tag. To inherit the NitroX html:text customization you follow the steps:
1) insert the following in the tlei file described above:
<tag name="myText">
<inherit taglib-uid="http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/tags-html" tag-name="text" />
</tag>
2) Insert the following css rule in the css file referenced from the tlei file:
myText {m7-inherit: "input-text"; display: inline}
This will inherit the built-in css style for form text fields.
Likewise, you can inherit the other Struts tags css styles by using the following rules:
myPassword {m7-inherit: "input-password"; display: inline}
myCancel {m7-inherit: "input-submit"; display: inline}
myCheckbox {m7-inherit: "input-checkbox"; display: inline}
myRadio {m7-inherit: "input-radio"; display: inline}
mySelect {m7-inherit: "select"; display: inline}
myTextarea {m7-inherit: "textarea"; display: inline}
3) The inherited tag library file (in this example the struts-html.tld), must also be present under the WEB-INF directory.

• How can I eliminate HTML tags from Oracle Text Snippet?

I perform a search on many tables and on many columns of those tables.
Some of those columns are VARCHAR2 and some CLOB.
Also, some of the searchable data are HTML and some are plain text.
My problem is that ctx_doc.snippet fetches the HTML tags.
For example I get this, as a snippet result in one of my searches: Qual Germany n1 <p>Test Qual Germany n1</p>
I want the result to be fetched without the HTML tags.
In my index configuration I have used NULL FILTER and HTML_SECTION_GROUP.With that configuration I managed to eliminate the HTML tags but not in all cases!
For example:
I search table CONTENTS columns TITLE(VARCHAR2) and MAIN_TEXT(CLOB)
I created the following procedure that concatenates the two columns:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE CONTENTS_PROC( p_id in rowid, p_lob IN OUT clob)
IS
BEGIN
FOR c1 IN (SELECT main_text||' '||title data FROM contents WHERE ROWID = p_id)
LOOP
dbms_lob.copy( p_lob, c1.data,
dbms_lob.getlength( c1.data ));
END LOOP;
END;
I created a user Datastore:
BEGIN
ctx_ddl.create_preference( 'content_trans_datastore', 'user_datastore' );
ctx_ddl.set_attribute( 'content_trans_datastore', 'procedure', 'CONTENTS_PROC' );
END;
and finally I create the index:
CREATE INDEX content_trans_ot_idx ON contents(ORACLE_TEXT_COLUMN)
INDEXTYPE IS ctxsys.CONTEXT PARAMETERS ('datastore content_trans_datastore SYNC(ON COMMIT) STORAGE INDEX_STORAGE filter ctxsys.null_filter section group ctxsys.html_section_group');
When I perform the search on those data: <p> <strong>Test Doc-Test </strong> </p> the snippet I get is: Test Doc-Test.
That's fine, the html tags are removed!
In another case I search table NCP columns NAME(VARCHAR2) and BODY(VARCHAR2)
I created the following procedure that concatenates the two columns:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE NCP_PROC( p_id in rowid, p_lob IN OUT clob)
IS
BEGIN
FOR c1 IN (SELECT name||' '||body data FROM ncp WHERE ROWID = p_id)
LOOP
dbms_lob.copy( p_lob, c1.data,
dbms_lob.getlength( c1.data ));
END LOOP;
END;
I created a user Datastore:
BEGIN
ctx_ddl.create_preference( 'ncp_trans_datastore', 'user_datastore' );
ctx_ddl.set_attribute( 'ncp_trans_datastore', 'procedure', 'NCP_PROC' );
END;
and finally I create the index:
CREATE INDEX ncp_trans_ot_idx ON ncp(ORACLE_TEXT_COLUMN)
INDEXTYPE IS ctxsys.CONTEXT PARAMETERS('datastore ncp_trans_datastore SYNC(ON COMMIT) STORAGE INDEX_STORAGE filter ctxsys.null_filter section group ctxsys.html_section_group');
When I perform the search on those data: test <strong> </strong>http://deleteme.com the snippet I get is: test <strong> </strong>http://deleteme.com!!!!!!!!!!
How is this possible? Why in the first case the HTML tags are eliminated and in the second case they are not?
Thanks,
Margarita
Edited by: user13312701 on 07-Sep-2010 08:51

Doing various tests I found out that the problem is when I need to search in multiple columns of a table.
That is when I create a user_datastore that uses a procedure that concatenates the columns.
And especially when the data with the html tags is in a VARCHAR2 column.
e.g
--create the table*
CREATE TABLE CONTENT_TRANS (content_trans_id NUMBER,
main_text CLOB,
title vARCHAR2(2000),
oracle_text_column VARCHAR2(1));
alter table "CONTENT_TRANS" add constraint CONTENT_PK primary key("CONTENT_TRANS_ID") ;
--Insert dummy data*
Insert into CONTENT_TRANS
(CONTENT_TRANS_ID,MAIN_TEXT,TITLE)
values
(1,'lorem','lorem
qualification
2.1 ');
Insert into CONTENT_TRANS
(CONTENT_TRANS_ID,MAIN_TEXT,TITLE)
values
(2,'lorem','lorem
qualification
2.1 ');
--CREATE THE procedure that concatenates main_text(CLOB) and title(VARCHAR2)*
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE CONTENT_TRANS_PROC( p_id in rowid, p_lob IN OUT clob)
IS
BEGIN
FOR c1 IN (SELECT main_text||' '||title data FROM content_trans WHERE ROWID = p_id)
LOOP
dbms_lob.copy( p_lob, c1.data,
dbms_lob.getlength( c1.data ));
END LOOP;
END;
--Create the user datastore*
BEGIN
ctx_ddl.create_preference( 'content_trans_datastore', 'user_datastore' );
ctx_ddl.set_attribute( 'content_trans_datastore', 'procedure', 'CONTENT_TRANS_PROC' );
END;
--Create the index*
CREATE INDEX content_trans_ot_idx ON content_trans(ORACLE_TEXT_COLUMN)
INDEXTYPE IS ctxsys.CONTEXT PARAMETERS ('datastore content_trans_datastore SYNC(ON COMMIT) filter ctxsys.null_filter section group ctxsys.html_section_group');
exec ctx_doc.set_key_type('PRIMARY_KEY');
--Perform the query
SELECT SCORE(1),ct.content_trans_id, ctx_doc.snippet('content_trans_ot_idx', ct.content_trans_id, 'lorem') as snippet
from content_trans ct
where contains(ct.ORACLE_TEXT_COLUMN, 'lorem', 1) > 1;
Results WITH NOT WANTED HTML TAGS:
6     1     lorem lorem <p>qualification</p> 2.1
6     2     lorem lorem <br>qualification</br> 2.1

• How to insert an HTML link into a page

Hello,
We have a list of documents in a external document management system. We would like to present the list of documents to the user for retrieval from within any SRM HTML page.
I was thinking of two different approaches:
1) I would like to be able to insert an HTML link to a URL of documents for display to the end user.
2) Alternatively, we might want to inject some javascript into the screen to handle the presentation of the links.
We would like this functionality to work on any of the screens within SRM as global functionality.
Any suggestions on how to customize SRM to handle this functionality request?
(Will reward points very quickly)
Thanks

Hi,
My project has a requirement to show URL in Bid Invitation screen. In turn, when user clicks that hyperlink, it will pop-up a web dynpro screen.
Maybe this is the same with your need.
In case this is the same, the trick is to define an additional field in bid invitation custom header with customized data element and customized domain.
Then, defined conversion exit for the domain with javascript line such as "
bla bla
" to pop-up the web dynpro screen in modal dialog.
The result will be as what I have above.
Hopefully this can help you.

• Custom html tags with JEditorPane

I'm trying, to use my own tags within html in the JEditorPane. An insert parses without exception but the html in the pane is missing the custom tags that I attempted to insert. I have tried to use the 'setPreservesUnknownTags' command on the html document, but it appears to have no affect. This is the code I have been trying to use:
edtHTML.insertHTML(docHTML, 0, "
<my:link id=\"12\">ABC</my:link>
", 0, 0, HTML.Tag.P);
I have also tried
edtHTML.insertHTML(docHTML, 0, "<my:link id=\"12\">ABC</my:link>", 0, 0, new HTML.UnknownTag("my:link"));
Can anyone help?
Thanks

I have no example for custom Tags but I found out that every tag is stored as an attribute.
You can access the attributes if you use a JTextPane. There is a method (i don't know the name yet I will find out tomorrow in the office) which gives you the AttributeSet of each Character at the Carent position. All characters have an attribute "name" and the value of this attribute should be the name of the tag you've inserted.
The only problem is that I had to read out every character so it's quit slow.
If you could find a better solution please let me know ([email protected]).
Thank you.

I've searched, but perhaps I am not using the correct terminology. I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere.
We have a vendor who is trying to mimic my webpage for our customers who sign on to her service. My problem is that I don't like having versions of our webpage outside our organization because I'll have to get them to update every time I make a change to our page. I know it will be forgotten at some point. What I'd like to do is set up a page on our site and insert their html content page within my template framework. There is a form that needs to link to their site so it needs to live on their server. I tried inserting an html, but it didn't work. I know in the olden days I used to be able to do this in PageMill. Now, I just can't figure out how to do it. Does anyone know the secret?
Here is a sample page on my site showing what I'm trying to do: http://www.franklinebranch.com/TEST.html. I'm using DW CS5.
Thanks for any suggestions. Anna

Hi Venkat,
Maybe the reason for no one answering is because of lack of information in your post? What are you trying to do? Are you using JSP or UIX XML? Have you checked the online jdeveloper documentation? Have you checked the doc available in the JDeveloper release? Before we have more information we can't help you. Sorry

then do so, using the single word (or more) -
select/highlight the part you want as a link & ctrl-click it, choosing Link - Add Link
( or use the Mail-Edit-Edit Link command, or the Command-K keyboard shortcut )
copy/paste the web address you want.

• How to turn of HTML tags in Email Messages?

My BB8830 World Edition on Verizon continues to show full html tags - e.g. <http://www.oracle.com/dm/global/opn.gif> - instead of just the link, which makes any email with links extremely difficult to read as the full html tags display in the middle of a sentence or para.
Any idea how to turn this off?

You'll have to wait for Verizon to release OS 4.5 for your device. Once you upgrade your device, you will be able to view HTML email.
There are also third party packages (that you'd have to pay for) available to read HTML email, but the OS should be available within the next few months. Then again it is Verizon, and they tend to drag their heels on updates, so....

• How to put back html tags

Hi, I have a program that reads an html file, parses the html tags, now I execute code, and then would like to append the original file with my results...
How would I put back in the html code that I parsed out? Or would I have to go through it & search for where the information ends, like right before the
tag, and then write in html code there...
What do u think?

yes, what I did, was read in each line, parse and put into a new StringBuffer... and finally save this into an ArrayList to manipulate it in the program...
What I'm doing now, is trying to rewrite the html file, by
PrintWriter cout = new PrintWriter (new
FileWriter ("scores.html"));
and then
cout.print("
");
etc, etc...
and fill in the scores as
cout.print(
);
cout.print(ArrayList.get(i)); //the saved score
etc.
Right now, this isn't writing to the html file, so I wonder if PrintWriter is the right thing to use...
Thanx for ur help!
