How to interrupt running PS batch or script?

Is there any shortcut in Photoshop or Bridge to stop running script or batch? I tried the usual suspects like Esc, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Break and none worked. I am running Dr. Brown Services and by mistake I let it process 850 photographs instead of 34... The script has finished, but I would like to know for next time...

you could try to kill the whole application by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and end the task from the Task Manager

You cannot run Batch Manager directly from within the OSA Administrator or Analyzer clients. Batch Manager has its own GUI client that can be used the define and schedule jobs, however, it also possible to run and montitor jobs via command line as well.

Running a batch of scripts

I've got a batch of scripts to run.
I've run batches of scripts many times but I'm looking for a smarter way of doing it.
I would like to be able to create a sql script that will run a batch of other scripts - but pass in the connection string.
At the moment I use a script like this:

Each script in turn has it's own connect string as the scripts are connecting as different users - cat1 & cat2 - I would like to make each script connect to a particular instance.
Is it possible to create a sql script to run the other scripts that could pass the connect string for the instance to the scripts?
This would save me having to put the connect string into each and every script.

How to interrupt running subvi with global variation

Hi,all
   I want to use global variation STOP to interrupt the running VI at anytime, but the subVI must be running until executing the WHILE. I knew when one action is operated in the EVENT case, the other action will not be iperated. My question is how to solve the problem without POP subVI and the DATA transmitted to MAIN panel. Give me a suggestion, THKS!

Hi Lioncsu,
      In Main, when a Start event occurs, the Value of Stop (False?) is immediately written to the Global (once), and SubVI starts running.  The Start event case won't complete - or write another value to the Global - until the SubVI is done. I haven't run this, but I think pressing Stop may cause the SubVI to run (again) - for one iteration!
Attached is a simple VI which uses two loops - one to handle GUI events (the buttons) and one to start a while loop.  Maybe you can replace the while-loop with your SubVI?

HOW DO I RUN A UNIX BASH SCRIPT FROM JAVA??

HI. Here's a tricky little problem i have. There's a unix bash script that has some commands in it, that manipulate a file. It appends a certain string variable to a file called users. The users file is an ordinary text file.
I know this script to work perfectly, when i invoke it like this directyl from the command line: ./addusers.sh
or even: bash /downloads/selinux/policy/addusers.sh
Now, i have a java program, and its meant to just execute that script. It doesnt throw any Exceptions at runtime. But when i look at the users file, and expect it to have an extra line that was the string variable, the file is UNTOUCHED!
Again, direct command line invocation works, but not from java. Here's what my invocation from java looks like:
Process p = Runtime.getRunTime().exec("bash downloads/selinux/policy/addusers.sh");
The strange thing is, i tried a different bash command. I tried:
Process p = Runtime.getRunTime().exec("mkdir /temporary");
and this worked!
so why not the other one??

How to run a batch before window log off

We have a situation. We monitor an application very closely for failure rate. Many users are currently just logging off windows when leaving work. When they use windows log off it kills this application which intern return non-zero exit code(indicating application
problem).
Is there a way to run a batch/powershell script to close application first(we have a method to close it gracefully) before log off process is triggered by windows 7.
We tried putting a routine in GPO log off script. But widows log off kills all applications before the routine has chance to run.

Thank you for your help but I've just discovered that my problem probably doesn't have to do with the way that I call for the batch file. It's more like this:
The batch file is run but it only does its job some of the times... The batch contains one name of a converter application (Convert.exe) and the names of some databases and files. I've been told that the conversion should work if Convert.exe is located in the same folder as the files. Which it also does, if I run the batch from "Run..." but not from my code.
I had it working for a while when I had fiddled (as I said, I'm a beginner at this) with setting some drives, such as userDrv and changing some paths in the script settings. Since I didn't really know what I was doing though, I didn't save these settings when closing down DIAdem and now it's not working again. When it worked, it only worked for the file where my .VBS was saved. The point of the program is to convert files in different folders so that wasn't enough.
Just for clearity: I can't write the name as "C:\My Folder..." because the batch file name and the folder it is situated in is different each time so I have variables for the path and the batch, but that part seems to work. (Call ExtProgram(batFilename_) where batFilename_ includes the path).
So I guess what I need to understand is how the different drives work or maybe I need to somehow change my path settings?

Have a look at the menu file/process multiple files. You can choose to add your signature (or the caption) to the image and export the new files.
If that solution is not flexible enough, consider using the very affordable (12$) Elements+ add-on which offers a 'meta stamp' script :

I have Installed 10.1.3.4.0 ---> selected "Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Data Profiling, Oracle Data Quality 10.1.3.4.0" ---> Complete (1012MB)
- follow all steps of "Design a Name and Address Cleansing Project" section in Sample Tutorial
- in "Oracle DQ User Interface", right click Projects->Quality->customer master[1]
- select "Run" from the context menu
- the background tasks completed 100% properly
- export the project as a Batch Script
- make changes to config.txt, runProjectN.cmd, and *.stx files following as specified in the Sample Tutorial document
- at step 13-f, got the following errors by executing runProjectN.cmd

Solution:
Needs to modify "e9_tranfrmr_p3.stx" to point to "e6_nomatch_globrtr_p2_us.dat".

Seems to be the DRM service went down, try running the batch after stopping & restarting the service.

You can create an environment variable called "SQLPATH" which is a list of directories that SQL*Plus will search for your .SQL
scripts.

How do I run a script at shut down?

Hi folks,
I wrote a script that runs at login that gets my dynamic IP and creates a simple web page with a link to my local computer address for Personal Web Sharing, and then uploads that web page with the link to my ISP homepage server.
I wrote another script that creates a web page with no link, but contains a message that my home computer is shut down.
This way, my ISP homepage can have a file that either points to my dynamic IP or has a message that my web server is down.
So How do I get the shut down script to run at shut down?
The shutdown script is basically just this to upload an existing html file:
curl -T shutdown_message.html -u userid:password ftp://ftp.web.isp.server.com/
or you can dynamically create an html file with current date and expected date you will be back on-line, or whatever, with some simple perl code.

Thanks, guys. For the most part I think the DSL keeps the same IP except when I power down. My power went out just as I finished my login upload script, so my first test was out of necessity, and it worked. I could set it up as a cron job on my local machine to regularly test the IP and upload the page.
reese, When I have a power loss, or non-planned abnormal shutdown, my web page will be out of sync, unless I use something on the ISP server, so that is a good point. I am not sure what kind of scripts I can run on my ISP web server. I don't know if I can set up a regularly scheduled script, or if it would only respond to requests, then it could perform the test on demand. I need to give that some more study. Good suggestion.
As far as a normal planned shutdown, I thought of one possible work around: to create a script that runs my upload and then executes the shutdown, either by AppleScript or UNIX shutdown command line, not sure which is the most graceful.
Gary, I looked in the /System/Library/StartupItems and found the Apache scripts in there. They have a StartService and StopService methods defined. I think I could use that as a template to create my own, or just add my scripts to the Apache methods. Since basically I want to run something as Apache is started and again when it stops. That may be the most graceful method. As Apache can get shut down when the machine remains on via System Preferences. You solved my problem Gary, but I marked your message as helpful already. How do I run a script on a folder which is only set to run on an individual file?

I want to use the layer to file script on an entire folder of about 40 files.
I tried creating an action with "Insert menu item" but when I run the batch file it crashes illustrator.
I am thinking I should combine the savedocsasPDF example script with the layer to file script but I am having trouble.
Would someone be able to point me in the right direction please?
